Mrs. Stanley (Audry) Scheffen

Mrs. Stanley (Audry) Scheffen, 71, formerly of Oconto, died Friday afternoon, September 29, 2000 at St. Vincent Hospital, Green Bay.

The former Audrey Matravers was born August 20, 1929 in the Town of Pensaukee. She was the daughter of the late Mearl and Margaret (Lefevre) Matravers. As a young lady, she attended Teacher's College and received certification. On June 3, 1950 Audrey married Stanley Scheffen at First American Lutheran Church, Oconto. The couple farmed in the Town of Pensaukee and Mrs. Scheffen also taught at area schools. For the past eight years, she has ben employed by the Farm House Restaurant at Abrams. Audrey was a loving mother and grandmother and was also an avid bowler. She served on the Oconto Board of Education and FMHA board.

Surviving are her husband of 50 years Stanley; three children, Stanley and special fried Lisa Kennedy, James and his wife Lora, and Peggy Bridger and her husband Bill all of Green Bay; a sister Loraine (Elmer) Zimmerman, Sioux Falls, SD; as well as three grandchildren. Als surviving Audrey is her mother-in-law, Peal Scheffen, Oconto. She was preceded in death by an infant son.

Private family graveside prayers were held at the Brookside Cemetery, with interment following. In lieu of other expressions of sympathy memorials may be addressed to: Stanley Scheffen, 1635 Janice Ave. #12, Green Bay, WI 54304. Raymond B. Ackerman Jr. Funeral Directors assisted the family.
