Born March 10, 1911 in the Town of Spruce to the late Mr. and Mrs. DeWitt (Helga Heyerdahl) Reed, he married the former Emily Schuettpelz in Suring on May 30, 1939. She preceded him in death on Feb. 15, 1995. He farmed in the Town of Underhill for 45 years.
Survivors include five daughters, Mrs. Wayne (Marcella) Pirlot, Norma Miller, Mrs. Ralph (Barbara) Fischer and Mrs. Russell (Lorna) Mueller all of Gillett, Mrs. Kenneth (Beverly) Van Ark of Oconto Falls, ; four sons and five daughters-in-law, Marvin (Sue) of Collins, Warren (Bonnie) of Suring, Wayne (Joan) of Gillett, David (Judy) of Pulaski, Mrs. Myron (Susie) Hillman of Green Bay; three brothers and four sisters-in-law, Emerald of Suring, Wallace (Freda) of Gillett, Raymond (Irma Jean) of Pea Ridge, Ark., Evelyn Holl of Suring; one sister and one brother-in-law, June Schroeder of Gillett, Eldo Kuhn of Wautoma; 29 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Alfred Reed; and a brother, Arnold "Whity" Reed.
Friends may call from 5 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, May 24 at the Kuehl Funeral Home in Gillett, and after 9 a.m. Friday. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday,
May 25 at the funeral home. Tim Fifield will officiate with interment in Hickory Cemetery, Town of Maple Valley.
