Friday, Sept. 6, 1918

News was received in this village Tuesday morning of the death at Chicago on Monday afternoon of our former resident, Dr. A.M. Foster, and it caused many expressions of grief and regret amongst the many friends of the deceased physician. The doctor had gone to the Norlis Shore hospital at Chicago for the purpose of having an operation performed on his nasal organ, and while the operation was entirely successful, it was followed by stuptococcus infection that baffled all efforts of the attending physicians to counteract, and on Monday, as stated, he breathed his last. With him at the time of his death was his wife, his father-in-law, O.M. Saunders, and his friend, Dr. G.W. Krahn, both of Oconto Falls.

Dr. Foster was born in Marine City, Mich., thirty-two years ago. After graduating as a physician he commenced practice at Kaukauna, and moved to Oconto Falls in 1912. After one year in this village he returned to Kaukauna, and that city has been his home since. Shortly after his return to Kaukauna he was married to Miss Ila Saunders, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. O.M. Saunders of this village, and from this union two sons, one three years and one eighteen months, are left with their widowed mother to mourn the loss of a loving and indulgent parent and husband. The remains were taken to Marine City, Mich., for burial in the Foster family burying plot.
