The son of the late Wenzel James and Mary (Knedlhans) Wondrash was born January 12, 1919 at Lena. Alvin was married to Clarice J. Niquette on May 21, 1949 at St. Charles Catholic Church, Lena. He operated a dairy farm in the town of Lena until retirement in 1975. His wife, Clarice, preceded him in death on December 6, 2001. He was a member of Holy Cross Church, Lena.
Surviving are six children Ken (Jean) Wondrash, Lena; Mary Pat (Joe) Beschta, Oshkosh; Margie Leigh and fiance Patrick Murphy, Oconto; Marcia (Jim) Schlosser, Lena; Dave (Kathy) Wondrash, Yuma, AZ; and Amy (Kraig) Wondrash, Oconto Falls; 15 grandchildren; four great-grandsons; nieces and nephews. Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by two brothers Wenzel and Clarence; two sisters Caroline and twin sister Evelyn, and a son-in-law, Rick Leigh.
Relatives and friends may call at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Lena from 2 p.m. Wednesday until time of services. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, March 13 at 4:30 p.m. at the church with Rev. Peter Taylor officiating. Interment will be in St. Charles Catholic Cemetery, Lena.
