PlONEER RESIDENT
OF LITTLE SUAMICO DIES

OCONTO, Wis.- August Laabs, 83, pioneer farmer of the town Little Suamico, died at his farm home Thursday morning of complications. The body was brought to the Gagnon funeral home here and funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at 1 o'clock from the farm home and at 1:30 in St. John's Lutheran church, Little Suamico, with the Rev. Paul C. Eggert officiating. Interment will be in Little Suamico cemetery.

Mr. Laabs was born in Germany April 20, 1854, and for the past 60 years has been a resident of the town of Little Suamico. He is survived by three sons, Carl, with whom he made his home; Theodore, Little Suamico; and Herman. Republic, Mich., one daughter, Mrs. Chester Ferdon, Manitowoc; one sister, Mrs. Marie Schmidt, Little Suamico; I9 grandchildren and one great grandchild.
