LaBrosse, Anthony A. "Tony"

Anthony "Tony" A. LaBrosse, 88, Oconto Falls, died Saturday evening, June 3, 2006, at Community Memorial Hospital following a long illness. He was born July 22, 1917, in Oconto Falls to William and Susanna (LaBudda) LaBrosse. He grew up on the family farm in the Town of Morgan and at the age of 17 years old, enlisted in the CCC camps to help his struggling family. Tony would send $25 of the $30 he earned per month back home to help make ends meet. Following his CCC days, he joined the circus, setting up tents and traveling all over the country, eventually settling in Ann Arbor, MI. On October 12, 1940, he married Frieda Schindel in Oconto Falls. Shortly after their marriage the couple moved to Green Bay before purchasing a farm in the Town of Oconto Falls and Tony became the regional organizer of NFO. Tony retired from farming in 1966 and began working for Hunter Machinery in Green Bay until his retirement in 1979. He very much enjoyed the woods, especially using the chain saw to cut firewood, which is something he did until just one year ago.
