Adolph "Cookie" (AJ) Block
Adolph "Cookie" (AJ) Block, 89, Gillett, died peacefully Friday morning,
April 12, 2013 at Sharpe Care in Oconto Falls. He was born February 3, 1924
in the Town of Underhill to Julius and Julia Block.
On August 21, 1948 he married Naomi Peterson. Cookie lived in the Gillett
area for all his life where he once worked for Ansorges Grocery and Feed
Mill and was an independent cattle dealer. He was a member of Faith United
Lutheran Church where he served as an elder and usher.
Survivors are his wife, Naomi Block; their four daughters, Karen (Tom)
Carlson; Marilyn "Sue" (Walt) Thompson; Gayle (Scott) Pratt; Corrine (James)
Young; eight grandchildren, Steve (Emily) Pratt, Nathan (Katie) Carlson,
Nick Pratt, Brooke (Jordan) Schroeder, Erika and Jessica Thompson, Alex and
Sydney Young; five great grandchildren; one sister, Dorothy (Gerald) Rapp,
his coffee buddy, Loren Schwartz.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, William, Oscar and
Melvin Block and one sister, Anna Knaack.
Burial will follow in Wanderers Rest Cemetery, Gillett.
