Adolph G. BLOCK

Adolph G. Block, 96, Gillett, died Thursday evening, November 18, 1999, at Shawano Medical Center, Shawano. He was born July 4, 1903, in the town of Gillett, to the late August and Emma (Arndt) Block. On November 10, 1928, Adolph married Clara Andersen, at St. John Lutheran Church, Pulcifer. He was employed by the former Baldwin Plywood and Veneer Co., Gillett, until his retirement in 1968. He was a faithful member of St. John Lutheran Church, Gillett, all of his life.

Adolph is survived by his wife of 71 years, Clara, Gillett; four sons and daughters-in-law, Donald and Joyous, Kimberly; Richard and Eva, Gillett; Elroy and Joan, Bonduel; Roger and Beverly, Milwaukee; three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Emil Block, Gillett; Alvin and Vemice Bohn, Oconto Falls; Arnold and Evelyn Bohn, Arkdale, WI; one sister-in-law, Gladys Johnsen, Gillett; 18 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Adolph was preceded in death by one daughter, Carol Block; two grandsons, Richard Block, Aaron Block; one granddaughter, Maureen Block; four brothers, William, Edward, Edwin and Arthur Block; and his stepfather, Paul Bohn.

Friends called at St. John Lutheran Church, Gillett, Tuesday after 9:30 a.m. Funeral services were 11 a.m. Tuesday, November. 23, 1999; at the church, with the Rev. Dennis N. Nelson officiating. Interment in the church cemetery. Kuehl Funeral Home, Gillett, assisted Adolph's family with arrangements.
