He was born on October 17, 1931 in Oconto to the late Calvin and Esther (Pomp) LaFortune. Al loved and lived to ride his Harley Davidson motorcycles.
Survivors include three children, CMSgt. Betty Sansone, Wausaukee, Calvin (Lilian) LaFortune, Crown Point, NY; Jean Strauss and fiance Randy Belongia, Oconto; three grandchildren Jeremy, Joshua, and Rachel Strauss; two brothers, Kenneth (Judy) LaFortune, Oconto; Donald "Joe" (Linda) LaFortune; Oconto and a very special friend, Sylvia Sass, Zephyrhills, FL. Nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Shirley, and one brother, Roger.
Per Al's wished, no services were held. A Memorial Motorcycle ride by family and friends took place on Saturday, August 31, in Million Mile Al's name.
In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, memorials donated to the American Lund Association would be appreciated.
