He was born June 19, 1915, in the town of Gillett, to the late August and Adelhida (Hildeman) Eggebrecht. On September 4, 1937, Arnold married Esther Mittag, at Immanuel Lutheran Church , Town of Gillett, where he was a member. She preceded him in death January 6, 1985.
He owned and operated a dairy farm in the Town of Gillett. After he sold his dairy cattle, Arnold was employed by Leicht Material Handling, Green Bay, as a Longshoreman. All through his life, he was a accomplished musician, entertaining throughout the Gillett area. He was a former member of the International Longshoreman’s Association and the International Musicians Association.
Arnold enjoyed mechanical work. He drove his Model A in the annual parades around the Gillett area.
Survivors include his children: Louis (LaVonne); Audrey Meier; and Darlene Kapelka, all of Milwaukee; eight grandchildren: John, Steve, Leah, Paul, and Carrie Eggebrecht; Crystal Tillotson, Scott Meier, and Alanna Schramm; 14 great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren; his very dear friend, Aleyne “Babe” Beissel; sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Arnold is also preceded in death by seven sisters: Gertrude Batzer, Ellsie Krause, Adella Pahlow, Meta Bartz, Annie Olson, Frances Zweig, and Martha Zoellner; five brothers: Otto, Oscar, Herman, Charlie Eggebrecht; and Edgar Zweig.
Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, at the Kuehl Funeral Home, Gillett, and then at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Town of Gillett, Thursday after 10:30 a.m. Funeral at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 15, at the church with Deacon Ralph Beversdorf officiating. Interment in the church cemetery.
