Mrs. G. Eckardt Dies On Monday

Mrs. G. L. Eckardt, 65, 125 S. Main St., Oconto Falls, died suddenly at the Oconto Memorial hospital on Monday.

The former was born Sept. 26, 1900, at Oconto and is a lifetime resident of Oconto county. Her father, David Classon served as Congressman from this district and was elected judge of this circuit.

Before her marriage to G. L. "Red" Eckardt in 1941, she worked for the Wisconsin Public Service corporation. She and her husband owned and operated the Pines Supper Club for five years.

The body lay in state at the Gallagher funeral home from 4 p.m. Tuesday until time of Christian Science services at 2 p.m. Wednesday. The remains were taken to Sheboygan for cremation, and the ashes returned for burial in Evergreen cemetery.

Survivors include her husband; three sisters, Mrs. Clarence (Edna) Leigh, West Allis; Mrs. Russell Valentine, Suamico; and Mrs. Kenneth Coopman, Oconto Falls; a brother, Richard Classon of Tucson, Ariz., and 16 nieces and nephews.
