Adelene Mary (Baatz) Stuewer, born June 29, 1922 in Suring, Wisconsin died unexpectedly at the Appleton Medical Center on Saturday, December 19, 1998.
Adelene was the daughter of August Baatz and Martha Serge. She married Raymond Stuewer on June 28, 1941 at the Mt. Olive Lutheran Church. Adelene was a lifelong member of Mt. Olive Lutheran Church and past Sunday School teacher. She enjoyed her dogs, traveling and crocheting. Devoting her talents to the youth of her community, Addie opened her home and heart to guide and nurture. Her love of life and the beauty in nature has grown and blossomed endlessly.
Addie is survived by her husband, Ray; three children, Karen Jean (Harold) Kinyon of Manitowoc; Patricia Rae (James) Bass of Madison; and Richard Harold (Kathleen) Stuewer of Sturgeon Bay; seven grandchildren; her brothers, Steven (Nancy) Donald, Alabama; Virgil (Amy) Baatz, Illinois; and her sisters, Minerva Otradovec of Florida, and LaVerne Bodart, Green Bay.
Visitation was held at Gruetzmacher Funeral Home in Suring. Funeral services were conducted 11 a.m. Tuesday December 22, 1998 at Mount Olive Lutheran Church in Suring. Pastor Melvin C. Thur officiated. Burial in Mount Olive Lutheran Cemetery.
Memorial funds have been established at Mt. Olive Lutheran Church and for the Suring Area Library for Addie's continuing care for the children of the community.
