Albert "Bud" SOULEK

Albert "Bud" Soulek, 67, Green Bay, former Oconto County businessman, died Tuesday morning, October 19, 1999 at home. He was born July 9, 1932 in Chicago, IL to Albert Sr. and Ruth (Regan) Soulek. He moved with his family to Suring where he grew up and attended Suring public schools. Following graduation from high school, he served in the U.S. Marine Corps. He went on to attend Lawrence College and the University of Minnesota where he graduated with his degree in mortuary science. On July 10, 1953 he married Barbara Commee in Green Bay.

Bud lived in Oconto Falls for many years and owned and operated funeral homes in Suring, Lena, Sturgeon Bay and Oconto Falls. He also owned and operated furniture stores and provided ambulance service for area communities. He built many homes in the Oconto Falls area and at one time, owned Mr. Alberts (now the Lilac Plantation) supper club between Oconto Falls and Gillett. He retired to Maui, HA in the mid 1980's and returned to Green Bay about four years ago. While living in Oconto Falls he was a member of Grace Lutheran Church and had been ac- tive in the masons.

Survivors are two sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and.Su- san Soulek, San Antonio, TX; Scott and Kassie Soulek, Suamico; two daughters and sons-in-law, Kim and Robert Gomez, Carlsbad, CA, Kathy and Brian Ewald, Marion- nine grandchildren; one sister and brother-in-law, Frances and Martin Gordon, Tequesta, FL.

He was preceded in death by his parents. Friends called at Jones Funeral Service in Oconto Falls. Funeral services were held 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. H. K Diemer officiating. Burial was in the family plot at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Suring.
