Mr. Allen A. Neuman, 71, Gillett, passed away Thursday morning, March 22, 2001 at Community Memorial Hospital, Oconto Falls.

Mr. Neuman was born September 8, 1929 in Gillett, the son of the late Arnold and Marion Ehlers Neuman. Allen was united in marriage to the former Lois Wilson on April 21, 1951.

He was employed by the Oconto County Highway Department and the Veneer Plant in Gillett. Following his retirement, he has worked part time for the Dollar Value Store in Gillett. Allen was a lifetime member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Rural Gillett where he served as an usher and offering counter. He enjoyed life and was a great storyteller. Surviving are his loving wife of nearly 50 years, Lois; a daughter and son-in-law, Joy and Paul 'Skip' Schmidt, Oconto Falls; a son and daughter-in-law, Bob and Wanda Neuman, Green Bay; four grandchildren, Stephanie and Jeffrey Schmidt and Kiefer and Chelsea Neuman; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Bob and Joyce Wilson, Shawano; John and Rachel Houk, Portage; and Bernice Grueb, Gillett; aunts, numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins, as well as many friends.

Beside his parents, Allen was preceded in death by a son, Mark; an infant son and daughter, Marilyn and Michael; and by a brother, James. The family received relatives and friends at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 11639 County H, Gillett, from 10:30 a.m. until 1:15 p.m. Saturday, March 24. Service of Christian Burial was 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Church. Deacon Ralph Beversdorf officiating. Interment in the Church Cemetery.
