Oconto Falls—Edward Gauthier and Miss Arlene Cota have won the highest honors of the class of “32” of the Oconto Falls high school, according to superintendent W.W. Detert.  Gauthier with an average of 93.88 received the highest honor and is the class Valedictorian and Miss Cota, second, with a 4-year class average of 92.5 becomes the class salutatorian.  Both students have combined forensic activities with their regular scholastic work.  They have won honors in debating, declamatory, oratory, and extemporaneous speaking.  Gauthier has been granted a one-year scholarship to St. Mary’s college at Winona, Minn., which he plans to enter next fall, while Miss Cota has been granted a scholarship at St. Theresa’s college at the same city, and she is also planning to continue her work there.  Both are local students, Gauthier being the son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul J. Gauthier and Miss Cota, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Cota.
