Kermit C. Osterday 1907-1993
Kermit C. Osterday was born on June 4, 1907, in Lamont Township, the son of Charles and Margaret (Lancaster) Osterday. His two brothers include, Howard (Muriel) Osterday of Stockton, IL and Steve Osterday, who preceded him in death.
Kermit graduated from Darlington High School. He married Ruth E. Pattinson on September 16, 1939, in Dubuque, Iowa. They were blessed with three sons:
Thomas A. (Suzi) Osterday – Darlington, WI
Donald C. (Dianne) Osterday – Darlington, WI
Richard Osterday – deceased 1967
They were also blessed with five grandchildren: Timothy A. (Kristin) Osterday, of Tarpon Springs, FL, Kristin K. (Tim) Staver of Geneva, IL, Alea, Danielle and Denise Osterday, all of Darlington, WI.
Kermit lived in the Darlington area all of his life where he owned and operated the Western Auto Store for 20 years, which later became Osterday’s Sporting Goods.
Kermit was a 50 year member of the Evening Star Lodge #64 Free and Accepted Mason of Darlington. He was a student of nature, an avid outdoorsman and strong supporter of Darlington High School’s sports activities.
