Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Lancaster 1863-1948


OBITUARY:
Mrs. Mary E. Lancaster died Monday night, November 22, 1948, at the age 85 years, 1 month and 27 days.  She was a lifelong resident of the town of Lamont and made her home with her son Orville, where she died.  She had been in poor health the past 15 years.

Mary Elizabeth Pattinson, youngest daughter of the late George and Hannah Pattinson, was born in the town of Lamont on September 25, 1863.  She was united in marriage at the home of her parents to Wesley Lancaster on December 31, 1887.  To this union was born three children: George, Wesley and Orville.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, who died in November 1902, her son Wesley, who died at the age of 14 in 1905, one grandson and her brothers and sisters.

She is survived by her two sons, George of Madison, Orville, of Lamont, six grand children and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Lancaster was a member of the Lamont Methodist Church.  She was a kind loving Mother and will be missed by all who knew her.

Funeral services were held Thanksgiving day at the Methodist church of Lamont, Rev. George E. Kelsey, Minister, officiating.  Mrs. Dorothy Andrews accompanied by Mrs. Jerry Olson, of Lamont, sang two numbers.  The Pallbearers were Howard Osterday, Dale Lancaster, Russell Curry and Chester Pattinson, Kenneth Johnson and Hiram Lancaster.  Burial was made in the Lamont Cemetery.
