Obituary: Mary Gillingham
Mrs. Vernard L. Gillingham, 58, of Deerfield, died unexpectedly Friday, March 2, 1979, in a Madison hospital.
The former Mary E. Lancaster, she was born Feb. 26, 1921, in Darlington. She lived in the Madison area for the past 40 years and worked for Madison Gas and Electric for 11 years. She married Gillingham in 1942.
She is survived by her husband, a daughter, Sandra Wilke of Cottage Grove; a son, Ronald D. Gillingham of Longmont, Colo.; a sister, Shirley Gillingham of Little Falls, Minn.; and five grandchildren.
Funeral services were at 1:30 p.m. today at the Ryan Funeral Home in Madison. Burial is in Highland Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Memorials can be made to the Brin Mawr Presbyterian Church at Cottage Grove.
