An Early Photo of W.C. Lancaster & wife, Maggy.......with their 3 girls at the time. The picture is labeled "Margaret."

It is suspected that the three young sisters are left to right: Toddler seated in their mother's lap is Ada (b. 1879), Middle older girl is Annie (b. 1871) and the girl standing at front/right is Jane (b. 1874; d. 1881). It is also suspicioned that Maggy, the mother, is expecting their next child. If that is a correct assumption, then the unborn child being carried is Margaret Elizabeth "Maggie" who was born 18 Sep 1880. Baby Maggie was 8mo, 9das old when she died of disease on 27 May 1881. Maggie's death occurred just seven days after her older sister, Jane, died of the same disease.

It is curious that the two sons of William C. & Maggy are not in this photograph, which was taken in Freeport, IL. Freeport is the county seat of Stephenson County, Illinois, located in northern Illiinois just south of the Wisconsin border (very near Argyle, Wisconsin.)
