Leland J. Le Mieux, 64, of 2529 Longtail Beach Lane, Suamico died Sunday, Sept 2, 1990 at a local hospital following a short illness. The son of the late Mose and Frances Le Mieux was born in Green Bay on Jan. 30, 1926. He married the former Violet Neville Oct 25, 1969 in Green Bay. He lived in the Green Bay area most of his life.
Mr. Le Mieux loved the water and boating and participated in several organizations, holding office as past commodore of the Green Bay Yacht Club and also as charter member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, serving in the Pacific. Mr. Le Mieux was in the barbering profession having had his own business for over 40 years. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who loved and enjoyed his family.
Survivors include his wife, Violet, of Suamico, two sons and one daughter-in-law, Larry and Barbara Le Mieux, Madisn; Michael Simon and special friend Kathy Pettis, Kaukauna; two daughters, Mariosa and special friend Randy, of Spring Green, and Nancy and Donald Lefever, Hendersonville, Tenn; seven grandchildren; one sister and brother-in-law Betty and Clarence Eckberg, Little Suamico; special uncle and aunt Hannes and Lou Hannesson and family, Washington Island; nieces, and nephews and many cousins.
The family will be receiving friends after 9 a.m. Tuesday at St.Willebrord’s Catholic Church. Memorial Service at 9:30 a.m. with the Rev. Kenneth De Groot officiating. The family wishes to express their deep appreciation to Hospice, the doctors and the entire staff of St. Vincent Hospital, especially to the ninth floor.
