James
"Jimbo" Matzke died unexpectedly
Thursday morning, Feb 21, 2002. He
was
born Jan 29, 1926 to the late Edward and Louise (Binon) Matzke. On July 28, 1951, he
married the former Joan
Gruselle at St Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Green Bay.
Jimbo worked for the City of Green Bay Fire Department
for 35 years and retired a
District Commander. He
was also a mason
contractor for 56 years. He
enjoyed
bricklaying, cribbage, antique cars, hunting, his Door
County
cottage, traveling and getting together with his friends and family. He was an avid old car
collector, a member of
the Nifty Fifties Car Club and Nickel A Region Model A Club, a member
of the
4th degree Knights of Columbus.
Survivors include his wife, Joan, seven children, Denis
(Anita) Matzke, Sturgeon
Bay,
Douglas (Patricia) Plano,
Texas,
David (Linda) Matzke, Green Bay,
Donald (Kim)
Matzke, Green Bay,
Derrick Matzke, Shawano,
James Matzke, Denver Colo, and Joy Matzke, Erie, Colo. 13 Grandchildren, 3 step
grandchildren and
one great grandchild.
