Ethel
(Gonnering) Matzke, 76, town of
Glenmore, died peacefully Saturday morning, Feb 22, 1997 at her home.
The
daughter of the late William and Celia (Kempen) Gonnering was born on
June 8,
1920 in Greenleaf and was a lifelong resident of the area. The former Ethel Gonnering
and Roland Matzke
were married on Jan 2, 1941, and the couple just celebrated their 56th
wedding
anniversary. Ethel
and Roland farmed the
family farm until retirement. She
was a
member of Francis Xavier Catholic Church in DePere and was an active
member of
the Glenmore Homemakers and the area senior citizen group. Ethel was a former member
of the daughters of
Isabella. She
enjoyed bowling, playing
cards, singing, and dancing. Ethel
loved
to party. Survivors
include her husband,
Roland, and their seven children:

further survived by
many brothers in law, sisters in law, nieces, nephews, other relatives
and
special friends. She
was preceded in
death by her parents, three brothers, Ralph, Vince, and Marvin
Gonnering, a
sister, Marion Gonnering, and a sister in law, Sylvia.
