WALL, Arthur, age 77 of 1200 Lincoln St., died Tues. March 25, 1980. A resident of this community for the past 33 years he was a member of Mt. Vernon Elks Lodge No. 1604; Ionic Lodge No. 90 F & AM, Seattle; Nile Temple of the Shrine and is survived by his wife, Bessie; 1 sister, Mrs. Ruth Tichy of Daly City, Calif., and one cousin, Mrs. Elsie Smith of Everett. At his request there will be no services. Interment Acacia Memorial Park, Seattle. Arrangements by Jones Funeral Home.
WALL, Charles A., age 76, passed away in a local hospital on Wednesday, Aug. 29, (1962) following an extended illness. Mr. Wall resided in Bellingham for the past two years. He leaves to survive his sister, Mrs. Florence W. North and his brother, L. E. Wall, both of Seattle. Christian Science services will be read by Mrs. Ida Bodiker on Friday, Aug. 31, at 10 a.m. in the chapel of the Bingham & Jerns Funeral Home, followed by cremation.
WALL, Robert L., 80, of 360 D St., Blaine, died July 30, (1985) in Blaine. Born Dec. 28, 1904, in Hawaii, he came to Bellingham in 1946. He was employed in sales and delivery of furniture. He was a past member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Elks Lodge 194, Moose Club 493, Eagles Aerie 31, Whatcom Lodge 151, F&AM. and sons and Daughters of Hawaii, Warriors-White Chapter. He is survived by two sons, Robert Wall of Seattle and Charles Wall of Redondo Beach, Calif.; and two grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted at 1 p.m. Aug. 3, at Jerns & LeVeck Funeral Chapel.
(From The Westside Journal, Aug. 7, 1985)WALLACE, Alta - Family services will be conducted for Alta Wallace, 92, of 1200 Birchwood Ave. Mrs. Wallace died Sunday at a local nursing home. Mrs. Wallace died Sunday (Dec. 31, 1989) at a local nursing home. She was born July 17, 1897, in Washington and worked as a registered nurse. She is survived by a brother, Stanley Slater of Jerome, Idaho. Burial will take place in Enterprise Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Westford Funeral Home.
WALLACE, Anna, age 74 years, 3020 Northwest Avenue, passed away at a local hospital, Saturday, April 23, (1949) following a lingering illness. Mrs. Wallace had been a resident of Bellingham for the past 28 years and was a member of the Church of the Assumption and the Altar Society of the church, also of the Third Order of Dominican Sisters. Surviving relatives include, her husband, Mr. James Wallace; one daughter, Mrs. Lucile Starnes, Bellingham; three sons, George and Clem Wallace, both of Bellingham, and Charles Wallace of Hanford, Wash.; also six grandchildren. Rosary will be said within the Church of the Assumption, Monday, April 25, at 7:30 p.m. Requiem Mass will be celebrated for the repose of the soul at the church, Tuesday, April 26, at 9:30 a.m. with Rev. Fr. John McDonell, officiating. Interment in Greenacres Memorial Park under the direction of the Bingham-Dahlquist & Jerns Funeral Home.
WALLACE, Anna Clarice - A funeral services for Anna Clarice (Foss) Wallace of Everett, formerly of Bellingham, will be at noon Thursday at Greenacres Funeral Home near Ferndale, with the Rev. Lou Accola officiating. Burial will be in Greenacres Memorial Park. Mrs. Wallace died Saturday April 14, 2001, at Evergreen Hospital in Kirkland following an extended illness. She was 80. Born Aug. 2, 1920 to Edward and Karen (Sem) Foss in Bellingham, she lived in Whatcom County for 70 years before moving to Poulsbo in 1990 and then to Everett last year. Mrs. Wallace attended Bellingham High School and Bellingham Beauty College. Mrs. Wallace worked as a beautician for 30 years. Mrs. Wallace was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary Drill Team of Bellingham and the Sons of Norway of Poulsbo. She also was a lifetime member of the Lutheran Church. Her hobbies included playing the piano and organ, cooking, traveling and playing bingo. She loved her dogs. Her husband, Dale C. Wallace, died in 1994. Her brothers Andrew, Elmer, Carl and Arthur Foss also died previously. Survivors include daughters Bonnie Hough of Mill Creek and Beverly Grunhurd of Poulsbo, five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Wallace has lived in Whatcom County for 62 years. She lived with her daughter, Nancy, since the passing of her beloved husband, Lyle, in 1996. She was a private-duty nurse in Fall River, Massachusetts until marrying and moving to Washington. Ann dedicated her life to her family. She especially enjoyed Bingo and her shelties. Survivors include a daughter, Nancy and a son, Jim, of Bellingham. Also a son, Ed, of Edmonds, Washington. She has 5 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. A celebration of life will take place at Nancy's home on Saturday, March 15, from 1-3 p.m. Burial will be at Greenacres Memorial Park. She leaves t survive her husband, Noah Wallace; one son, Ronald G. and wife Judy Wallace, all of Everson; her mother, Hattie Dunnegan; brother Lloyd and wife Mary Dunnegan, all of St. Louis; grandchildren, Rita Ststensrude of Seattle and Naomi Wallace of Everson; a great-grandchild, Karissa Ststenrud of Seattle and numerous other relatives.
(From The Lynden Tribune, March 21, 1984)WALLACE, Carolyn Sue, 52, of McLean, Va., a former Bellingham resident, drowned Monday (July 8, 1991) in her swimming pool. She was born Carolyn Sue Carpenter April 12, 1939, in Mount Vernon and moved to Bellingham, where she graduated from Bellingham High School. She attended the University of Washington and was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma. She married James Wallace in 1959 in Bellingham, at a double ceremony with her sister Diane Gamble, and moved to Mercer Island. In 1975 they moved to McLean. Mrs. Wallace was a volunteer for the Lady Board of Visitors of the Children's National Medical Center and the Junior League of Washington, D.C. Survivors include her husband at the family home; daughters Wendy Reynolds of St. Louis and Sally Fortner of Brookfield, Conn.; a sister, Diane Gamble of Chappaqua, N.Y.; and three grandchildren. Family graveside services will be at 3:30 p.m. Saturday at Bayview Cemetery.
WALLACE, Carrie B., age 98 of 2814 Victor St. passed away in a local hospital Sunday, Aug. 7, (1960) following an extended illness. Mrs. Wallace had resided in Bellingham for the past 62 years. She was a charter member of the Daughters of the Nile of Phoenix, Ariz., member of the Maple Leaf Chapter No. 58, O.E.S. She leaves to survive two daughters, Mrs. Elizabeth W. Whitfield of this city, Mrs. Adeline W. Macauley of Deming; one son Charles S. of Yuma, Ariz.; three grandsons, two granddaughters, six great-grandchildren; a cousin, Charles McCandless of New Castele (sic), Penn. Services will be conducted Wednesday, Aug. 10, at 1:30 p.m. in the Chapel of the Westford Funeral Home, Rev. Kenneth Turney, pastor of the Deming Presbyterian Church officiating, followed by cremation.
WALLACE, Carson B. - Funeral services for Carson B. Wallace, 89, of Everson, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Jerns & LeVeck Funeral Chapel, the Rev. Doug Anderson officiating. Wallace died Thursday (Jan. 19, 1984) in Bellingham. He was born in Iowa on Sept. 17, 1894, and lived in Whatcom County for 59 years. He worked in Bellingham shipyards during World War II and later became a self-employed carpenter and farmer. He was known to love refinishing old furniture. He is survived by one daughter, Maxine and husband Burton Germain of Everson; one sister, Mrs. Mary Warner of Spokane; one grandchild, Roger and wife Donna Germain; one great-grandchild and one niece. Visitation will be Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday, from 4 to 6 p.m. and Monday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Following the funeral, burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. Mr. Wallace was a life resident of Bellingham and was a poultryman; having been associated in the business at the Wallace Poultry Co. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Hazel A. Wallace and two daughters, Leslie Lynn and Gail Lee Wallace, all at home. Two brothers, Clem Wallace and George Wallace, both of this city, and numerous nieces and nephews. The remains rest at the Bingham, Dahlquist and Jerns Funeral Home where services will be conducted by Dr. W. Carl Calhoun Wednesday, April 20, at 2 p.m. Final resting place, Greenacres.
WALLACE, Chester, age 71 years, of 1764 Kelly Road, passed away at the family residence on Sunday, September 30, (1956) following a brief illness. Mr. Wallace had resided in this vicinity for the past 51 years, and was a member of the St. John's Lutheran Church. He leaves to survive one sister, Mrs. Anna Kobb, who resided with her brother, also numerous other relatives. Rev. E. M. Butenshon will officiate at funeral services on Wednesday, October 3, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of the Bingham-Dahlquist and Jerns Funeral Home followed by interment in the Lynden Cemetery.
WALLACE, Clarissa J., age 68, Rt. 2, Everson, passed away in a local hospital Monday, December 7, (1964). She had been a resident of Whatcom County since 1924 and was a retired school and music teacher and had taught at the Lawrence Grade School for many years. She was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church, the Mount Baker Garden Club, Home Demonstration Club and the Farm Bureau. Survivors include her husband, Carsen B. Wallace; one daughter, Mrs. Burton Germain, both of Everson; 1 grandson, Roger Germain of Bellingham. Funeral services will be held in the Gillies Funeral Home in Lynden Wednesday, December 9, at 2:00 p.m. with Elder Clarence Shepard officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.
WALLACE, Clement, born November 22, 1914 in Carbonado, Washington, to James and Ann Wallace, and a Bellingham resident since 1920, passed away on Wednesday, September 8, 1993. Mr. Wallace owned Wallace Poultry Co. for 46 years, from which he retired in 1980. He was active in the Poultry industry throughout his career. He was also very active in various Bellingham activities. Early in his career he was active in Campfire Girls and the Future Farmers of America, helping kids raise chickens. He also belonged to the Executives Club, the Washington Club, the Elks Club, the Yacht Club and Bellingham Country Club. Those who knew Clem knew that he always had a story to tell. He had a lifelong interest in sorts, from playing basketball at Bellingham High School to piloting his own plane, and was an avid fisherman. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Lucille Wallace and two children, Barbara Gratjahn of Mill Valley, California and Marilyn Johnson of Portland, Oregon. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Memorial services will be held on Saturday at the First Christian Church, September 11, 1993 at 3 p.m. Arrangements and services have been entrusted to The Jerns LeVeck Funeral Chapel.

Memorial services were held Sunday in Poulsbo. Burial will be at Greenacres Memorial Park in Ferndale. Born Nov. 26, 1920 to Joseph and Marian Wallace in Syracuse, Neb., he served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He married Anne C. Foss in 1965. A truck driver for Ludtke Hauling in Bellingham, he moved to Poulsbo 3-1/2 years ago when the company moved headquarters. Mr. Wallace enjoyed gardening, camping and fishing. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Kenny Wallace; a sister, Lucille Blake; and a daughter, Sandra Jimenez. Survivors include his wife of the family home; son Gary Wallace of Walla Walla; daughters, Jackie Leonetti and Mary Jo Bautista, both of Walla Wall; stepdaughters Bonnie Whitson and Beverly Grunhurd, both of Poulsbo; sisters Letha and Manada, both of Bellingham; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews in Bellingham. A private family service will be held at Greenacres Memorial Park. He was born march 25, 1906, in Thackery, Ohio, to Robert and Edith Wallace. Mr. Wallace married Marjorie Criswell in Ohio in 1928. She preceded him in death in March 1992. Survivors include his son, Rodger Wallace of Burlington; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and two sisters. Arrangements are by Greenacres Funeral Home.

WALLLACE, Floyd M., age 80, of 1355 Pacific Hiway, passed away suddenly at his home Friday, March 12, (1954). Mr. Wallace had been a resident of Whatcom County for the past 14 years. He is survived by his wife Martha, 2 daughters, Mrs. Noma Schultz of Carmichael, Calif., Mrs. Alice Blunck of Renton, four sons Norman of Bellingham, Earl of North Hollywood, Calif., Oden of Chelan, Albert of Carmichael, Calif.; one brother, Olen Wallace of Bellingham; 18 grandchildren and 40 great-grandchildren. WAllACE, George E., of 131 Austin Street, passed away suddenly at his home Saturday, September 9, (1950). Mr. Wallace had served on a number of publications on the West coast, including the old Bellingham Reveille. WALLACE, Gladys Irene, beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away peacefully at the Alderwood Care Center (April 1, 2002) where she has resided to the past 5 1/2 years. Her two sons, Jim and Paul Wallace and daughter Kay Forsythe survive her. Also survived by her 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by husband George and son Mike. Gladys was a life-long resident of Bellingham and was involved in many community organizations thru out her life. These included the Phi Sigma Alpha/Bellingham chapter Rho organization for older women of which she served a president for one year. She was involved with the Red Cross for 10 years and the Handicapped Workshop "Thread the Looms." She was a member of the Birchwood Church on Birchwood Ave. She was also a member of the First Presbyterian Church on North Garden. She worked at the First Presbyterian Inn, helping in the soup kitchen. She was also involved with the Searchers of the Presbyterian Church and sang in the choir for over 30 years. The Family would like to invite all who knew Gladys to attend the memorial service Friday the 5th day of April 2002 at The First Presbyterian Church of North Garden Street at 2 p.m. A reception to follow right after the celebration of her life.
WALLACE, Grace May, 86, of Spokane, passed away in a Bellingham hospital Sunday, Oct 20, (1957). Mrs. Wallace had been visiting at Everson with her son, E. B. Wallace the past two months, and is a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church. Surviving beside the son, E. B. Wallace of Everson, a daughter, Mrs. John Warner of Spokane, and three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. The remains rest at the Jones' Harlow-Hollingsworth Funeral Home where services will be conducted Thursday, Oct. 24, at 10:30 a.m. by Kenneth Lingbloom. Final resting place, Woodlawn Cemetery.
WALLACE, Hilda Marguerite - Point Roberts resident Hilda Marguerite Wallace, 93, died peacefully in her sleep Sunday, March 7, 2004 at the Alderwood Park in Bellingham, Washington. A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 13, at the Marina in Point Roberts. Mrs. Wallace was born on December 7, 1910, in Brisbane, Australia to George and Blanche (De Jaunay) Appelbe. Margo graduated from King Edward High School in Vancouver in 1927. She married Sydney Johnstone Wallace on August 3, 1940, in Vancouver, British Columbia. Margo and Syd lived in California, New Jersey, Connecticut, and Ontario over the ensuing years, finally retiring to Point Roberts in 1975. Retirement activities included a garden full of flowers, an active membership in the Tsawwassen Evergreen Garden Club, authoring "In the Garden", a gardening column in the Point Roberts All Point Bulletin, family visits and wonderful cruises to exotic places. Margo is survived by her husband of 64 years, Sydney J. Wallace; daughters and sons-in-law, Robin and Richard Boysen of Anchorage, Alaska, and Meredith and Bob Schultz of Stamford, Connecticut; son and daughter-in-law, Craig and Allie Wallace of Painesville, Ohio; seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren; and her brother Frank Appelbe of West Vancouver, British Columbia.

WALLACE, Howard S., 95, of 2726 Alderwood Ave., died Saturday, (Feb. 12, 1983). He was born June 14, 1887, in Ellensburg. He had been a lifetime resident of the state of Washington. He had lived in Bellingham since 1932. At his request, no services will be held. Cremation will be in Greenacres Memorial Park. Arrangements are by Jones Funeral Home.
WALLACE, Idella Arvilla, age 87, of 4419 Samish Highway, passed away in a local hospital, Tuesday, Dec. 15, (1959). Mrs. Wallace had resided in Bellingham for the past seven years, and was a member of the Methodist Church. Survivors are two sons, Harvey Wallace of this city and Chester Wallace of Tacoma; one daughter, Mrs. Lola Short of Tucson, Ariz.; six grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren. The remains were forwarded to the Mountain View Funeral Home in Tacoma for services and interment by the Jones Funeral Home.

WALLACE, John, age 65, of 1410 State Street, passed away in a local hospital Wednesday, July 9, (1947). Mr. Wallace had been a resident of this community for the past forty-four years and for forty-two years was the sexton of Bay View Cemetery, and recently was assisting with the Bellingham Museum. Deceased was a member of the First Christian Church and a member of the A.O.U.W. Surviving relatives are one daughter, Mrs. Ruth W. Petrie, of Winslow, Wash.; two sons, Robert W., of Seattle, and Orville L., of Winslow; four grandchildren and two sisters, Mrs. Hugh Niblock, of Bellingham, an done in Ireland. WALLACE, Joseph Elmer, age 82, who resided at 1506 F St., passed away in a local hospital Friday, March 16, (1962) following an extended illness. Mr. Wallace had resided in Bellingham for the past 19 years and was a retired farmer. He leaves to survive his wife, Mrs. Marion F. Wallace; 2 son, Kenneth H. and Dale C.; 3 daughters, Mrs. Amanda Ziles, Mrs. Lucille Blake and Mrs. Letha Call ass residing in Bellingham. Also 9 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. WALLACE, Lelia A., age 53 who resided at 2926 Cherrywood Ave., passed away in a local hospital on Friday, March 27, (1964) following an extended illness. Mrs. Wallace had resided in Bellingham her entire lifetime. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Longshoremans Union Local No. 1-7. She was also a member of the Alderwood PTA. She leaves to survive her husband, William W. Wallace at the family residence, her son, Richard of Yakima, her daughter, Mrs. Dorores Evans of Bellingham, also 3 brothers, Roy & Ralph Kuhns of Bellingham, Glenn of Everett, 2 sisters, Mrs. Helen Zuanich of San Pedro, Calif., Mrs. Ethel Messick of Coulee City, Wash., also 5 grandchildren, 19 nieces and nephews. Mrs. Wallace had resided here for the past thirty-eight years and was a member of the First Christian Church and the Royal Neighbors of America. Surviving relatives are the husband, John Wallace at home, 1400 Woburn Street; two sons, Robert W., at Mount Vernon, and Orville L., at Winslow, Wash; one daughter, Ruth Petrie at Seattle; three granddaughters, also one brother, William C. WALLACE, Lewis Bruce, age 80, of 721 15th St., passed away at home Sunday, March 12, (1961). Owner of the Wallace Chevrolet and Buick Co. from 1930 to 1955, Mr. Wallace had resided in Bellingham for the past 31 years. He was a member of the St. James Presbyterian Church; Fairhaven Lodge No. 73, F. & A. M.; Scottish Rite Bodies; Nile Temple of the Shrine; Past President of the Bellingham Rotary Club and the Bellingham Chamber of Commerce; was on the Y.M.C.A. Durr of Honolulu; 9 grandchildren; one brother, William Boyd Walace, of Pueblo, Colorado. The remains rest at the Jones Funeral Home where services will be conducted by Dr. Jesse Baird, Wednesday, March 15, at 1 p.m. Entombment will be in the Washelli Sanctuary of Truth.
WALLACE, Lucille E. of Bellingham died Wednesday, May 12, 1999 in Bellingham. She was 81. A private service was held. Burial was in Greenacres Memorial Park. Born Aug. 13, 1917 to Horace and Laverne Willett Thomas in Wickersham, she lived in Whatcom County for 75 years. She married Clem Wallace on May 2, 1938 in Bellingham. He died in 1993. Mrs. Wallace worked at Wahl's Department Store and was involved in what is now Campfire Boys and Girls. An avid gardener, she loved flowers. Survivors include daughters Barbara Grotjahn of Mill Valley, Calif., and Marilyn Johnson of Portland, Ore.; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Mrs. Wallace was born at Ashland, Neb. August 31, 1879 and lived in Nebraska City until moving to Bellingham in 1939. She is survived by one son, Dale Wallace and three daughters, Mrs. George Blake, Mrs. Don Williams and Mrs. Wilbur Ziels, all of Bellingham. And numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. WALLACE, Marjorie - A memorial service for Marjorie Wallace, 87, of 2600 Old Fairhaven Parkway, was conducted Thursday in Greenacres Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Donald Schatz officiated. [died March 4, 1992]. She was born Feb. 27, 1905, in Springfield, Ohio, to Charles and Rosalie Criswell. She married Elwood F. Wallace in December 1929 in Springfield. He survives her in Bellingham. WALLACE, Michael - A memorial service for Michael Wallace, 54, of Kingston, Wash., will be at 2 p.m. May 18 at the Kingston Christian Church. Mr. Wallace died Thursday in Seattle. He was born June 13, 1936 in Bellingham. Mr. Wallace was a charter member and past president of the Kiwanis Club of Kingston, a member of the Kingston Chamber of Commerce and a member of the Kingston Cove Yacht Club. WALLACE, William Wesley, age 76 years, of 3326 Cherrywood, passed away at a local hospital Sunday, Sept. 30, (1945). Mr. Wallace had been a resident of this community for the past 12 years, and was a member of the Old Age Pension Union. He is survived by four sons: Wm. Wallace Jr., Robert Wallace and Frank Wallace, all of Bellingham; Lyle Wallace, of the U.S. navy, located on the East coast; three grandchildren, Dolores, Richard and Lois Ann. WALLBERG, Sarah Anne Huyler of Samish Island was born on Valentine's Day 1905, and she left this life on Mother's Day (May 9, 1993), surrounded by loving family on a beautiful sun-filled morning. Sarah was born to Ellen and Samuel Sturgeon in Pineville, Missouri. She had nine brothers and sisters. The family then moved to Everson, Washington. In 1942, she moved to Samish Island with her husband, Charles Wallberg, who preceded her in death. In 1984, she married Howard Huyler and resided there until her death. She was actively involved in Camp Fire Girls and 4-H. She worked on the Skagit County Fair Board for many years. She was active in Skagit Art, Chuckanut District and Edgeward Garden Clubs, Samish Island Community Club, the Skagit Organ Club, R.S.V.P., Windjammer Harmonica Band, and Past noble grand of Rebecca's. She was a member of the Edison Lutheran Church. She greatly enjoyed her flower and vegetable gardens and her beautiful yard. She was known for her beautiful porcelain dolls which she lovingly created. She was a talented artist in oil and watercolors, and created beautiful floral arrangements. She had a passion for travel, throughout the United States, South Pacific and her beloved Hawaii. She is survived by her children, Emmalou and Paul Natchatello of Seattle, Gene Dana, Ellen Dana, both of Edmond[s], Bill and Virginia Dana of Seattle. Maureen and Bob Ratfield of Samish Island, Sandra Wallberg, of Samish Island and Don Tidrington of Bow, 21 grandchildren, many great and great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by son Ted Dana and daughter-in-law Charlotte Dana, her brothers Charlie, Karl, Wilbert and Sam, sisters Bertie, Pamela and Georgia. Graveside services will be at Bayview Cemetery Wednesday, May 12, at 11:00 a.m. Memorial services will be following at Edison Lutheran Church at one o'clock. WALLI, Joyce Elaine, age 69, lifetime resident of Whatcom Co., died July 6, 1997 at her residence. Mrs. Walli was born May 13, 1928 in Bellingham to Thomas and Edith (Childs) Johnson. She lived for a short time in New York and later in Hawaii. She enjoyed watching Mariners Baseball games. Mrs. Walli leaves to survive her son, Dennis D. Jessop of Bellingham; daughter, Cherrie A. WALLIN, August, age 43, of Route 2, Ferndale, passed away at a local hospital, Monday, November 7, (1949) following an accident. Mr. Wallin was born in Whatcom County and had resided here his entire life. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the Army Signal Corps. Surviving relatives include his mother, Mrs. Swan Wallin at home; two sisters, Bertha and Ella, at home; one brother, George, of Bellingham. Numerous other relatives. She was a member of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church, the Licensed Practical Nurses Assoc., The Woman's Club, The Orthopedic Guild & had done volunteer work on the Skagit County Blood Bank Blood Mobile. She is survived by 3 sons, DeWaine, Rochester, WA, Robert, Bellingham & James, Twisp; 2 daughters, Barbara Rauch, Bellingham, & Jacqulyn Altizer, Las Vegas; a sister, Olga Wallin, Minnesota & brother-in-law Otto Wallin, Minnesota; 18 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; numerous nieces & nephews. Memorial services will be held at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Sedro Woolley, Wed. WALLIN, Lois Ann Larson died Saturday, May 29, 1993, of diabetes. She was 41. A funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Centralia with the Rev. Linda Nou officiating. Burial will be at Olympic Memorial Gardens in Olympia. Born July 18, 1951, in Seattle, she lived in Bellingham for 15 years. A member of the first graduating class of Sehome High school in 1969, Mrs. Wallin received a bachelor of arts degree in education from Western Washington University in 1973. She taught elementary and high school in Oakville for 12 years. She married DeWaine Wallin on Aug. 12, 1980. In 1983, they founded Wallin Selective Care Facility in Rochester, a home for disabled veterans. Mrs. Wallis served as president of the Oakville chapter of the Washington Education Association, and was a member of Ladies Auxiliary of VFW, Oakville and Rochester Post No. 8011, and Ladies Auxiliary of American Legion Post No. 18 of Oakville. She was confirmed at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church of Bellingham in 1969 and was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Centralia since 1973. Survivors include her husband of the family home; her father, Leonard W. Larson of Bellingham; brother Dwight Larson of Gig Harbor; cousin Carol Vegas of Mississippi; and numerous cousins.
WALLING, Clarence H., age 68, of 1106 Jersey Street, passed away in a local hospital Tuesday, June 14, (1955). Mr. Walling had resided in this community for the past seven years, was a retired Navy Chief and was a member of Blackmer Lodge No. 442, F.&A.M. of San Diego, Calif. Surviving relatives include his other, Mrs. Susan I. Walling at home; one brother, Dow Walling of Pelham Manor, N.Y.; one sister, Mrs. Echo Lewis of Honolulu, T. H.; one niece, Mrs. Ecomae Baunach of Bellingham. The remains rest at the funeral home of Harlow-Hollingsworth where Christian Science services will be read, followed by the ritualistic services of Bellingham Bay Lodge No. 44, F.&A.M., Friday, June 17, at 1 p.m. Cremation.
WALLING, Rose M., 97, formerly of 1507 D St., died Tuesday (Sept. 18, 1990) at Alderwood Convalescent Center, where she had lived for several years. She was born Rose Pack on Oct. 16, 1892, in Toledo, Wash., to Grant and Nancy Ellen Pack. She grew up in Whatcom County and lived here most of her life. She attended Laurel Elementary School. A homemaker, she enjoyed sewing, cleaning and cooking. Survivors include three sisters, Etoile Cook and Lauretta Harris, both of Bellingham, and Linnie Kittrell of Mesa, Ariz., and numerous nieces and nephews. At her request, there will be no services. The body will be cremated. Arrangements are by Bleitz Funeral Home in Seattle.
WALLING, Susan Irene, age 95, of 106 Jersey St., passed away in a local hospital Wednesday, May 2, (1962). A member of the garden Street Methodist Church, Mrs, Walling came to Washington in 1888 and moved to Bellingham in 1891, Survivors are one son, Dow O. Walling of Pelham Manor, N.J.(sic); one daughter, Mrs. Echo Lewis of Honolulu; one granddaughter, Mrs. Robert C. Baunach of Bellingham; four great-grandchildren. The remains rest at the Jones Funeral Home where services will be conducted by the Rev. Robert Irwin, Friday, May 4, at 3 p.m., followed by cremation.
WALLS, Frank "Red" 61, of Sedro-Woolley died unexpectedly Monday (May 7, 1990) at United General Hospital. He was employed at Arrowac Fisheries in Bellingham. Survivors include his wife, Beverly; six children, Frankie Jr., Fredrick, Fran, Felicia, Felice and Fern; step-children Gary and JoAnne Felton, Lynn Felton, Robin and Belinda Felton, Mark and Fawn Felton and Cindy and Fred Vos; 11 grandchildren; and other relatives in Texas. A private cremation service was held.
WALLUM, Leo, 65, Yakima, passed away Feb. 22, 1992 in St. Elizabeth Medical Center. He was born May 23, 1926 in the Clearbrook area, where he attended school. He graduated from Nooksack High School in 1944. During World War II he served aboard the USS West Point. He was an honor guard at the funeral of President Franklin Roosevelt. He married Dolores Ringer who survives him at the family home. He is also survived by a son, Owen Wallum of Auburn; two daughters, Jennifer Gardner of Bakersfield, Calif., and Alison Schnebly of Selah; two grandsons; and four sisters, Margaret Sturgeon and Olga Foster of Everson, Linda Halwax of Seattle and Inga McDowell of Selah. One sister, Hilda Abel preceded him in death. Funeral services were conducted on Feb. 26, 1992 at Terrace Heights Lutheran Church in Yakima.
