SEFFERN, Frankie G. Hunter, a resident of Blaine for the past fifty years, passed away at her home Saturday, December 11, (1943) at the age of 67 years. Mrs. Seffern is survived by her husband Matt; one brother, J. J. Polford, two grandchildren, Frederick and Frances Hunter and two nieces and two nephews. Christian Science services will be conducted at the McKinney Chapel in Blaine Tuesday, December 14 at 2 p.m. with Mrs. Emily James, of White Rock, B.C., as reader, followed by P.E.O ritual. SEFFERN, John George, age 80, of Blaine, passed away Sat. Aug. 12, 1978. He had been a resident of Blaine for the past 69 years & was a member of St. Anne's Catholic Church, Blaine. Surviving are his wife, Aileen at home. A son, John M. Seffern. 4 daughters; Mary Hrutfiord, Theresa Pomeroy, Margaret Ann Eames all of Blaine & Catherine Beason of Union Gap. SEFFERN, Matt, age 83 of Blaine passed away Friday, June 4, (1976). He had been a resident of Blaine since 1909 and was a retired Water Superintendent for the city of Blaine. He was a member of St. Anne's Catholic Church. Surviving are 1 brother, John of Blaine and several nieces and 1 nephew. Mass of Christian Burial will be said in St. Anne's Catholic Church in Blaine, Monday, June 7 at 10 a.m. with Father Barett Corrigon officiating. SEFRIT, Ben H. - Memorial services for Ben H. Sefrit, age 77, of 241 N. State St., will be held Saturday May 12 at 1 p.m. in the First Congregational Church with Rev. Donel G. McClellan officiating. Mr. Sefrit passed away Mon. May 7, 1984, at his home. He is survived by his wife Dorothy; 2 sons, Barney C. Sefrit, of Seattle, George N. & his wife Judith A. Sefrit, of City and 6 grandchildren. Mr. Sefrits newspaper career spanned more than 40 years with the Bellingham Herald, retiring at the end of 1970 as publisher of the Herald, a position he moved to in 1967 after serving as general manager for Federated Publications Inc., then owner of the newspaper. He succeeded his elder brother the late Charles L. Sefrit, who retired. Ben Sefrit originally planned on a medical career, but after working on the Herald the summer before his final year at Washington State University, he told his father the late Frank I. Sefrit that he would rather be a newspaper man. His father was general manager of the Herald from 1911 until his death in 1950. He was chosen president of Allied Daily Newspapers of Washington in 1965 and 1966; was a leader in formation of the Bench-Bar-Press Committee which set up guide lines for coverage of arrest & trials. He continued his interest in the judicial branch of gov't. by serving on the Citizens Committee of Washington Courts which led to creation of the State Court of Appeals system. He was the 3rd member of his family to head the newspaper serving as published under the ownership of Perkins Press and later the Federated Publication which preceded the current owner, the Gannett Co. Inc. Shortly after his retirement the Sefrits traveled with a trailer in the west and settled in Hemet, Calif. in 1971. They returned here about 2 years ago living in Bellingham and spending time at their summer home in Twisp, where they were to have gone in about a week. Jones Funeral Home.

SEFRIT, Dorothy M. - Lifelong Bellingham resident, Dorothy M. Norris Sefrit, passed away Friday, August 21, 1992, at St. Joseph's Hospital. She was born January 11, 1907, in Bellingham, to Archie B. and Ethel Gaslin Norris. Mrs. Sefrit attended Bellingham schools and was a graduate of Bellingham Normal School, now Western Washington University and attended Washington State University. She taught elementary grades in Twisp and in Bellingham. In 1931, Dorothy married Ben H. Sefrit, former Publisher of the Bellingham Herald. He preceded her in death in May, 1984. Dorothy was a member of Aftermath Club, Seaview Garden Club, Frances Larrabee Garden Club, Beta Orthopedic Guild and the Bellingham Yacht Club. She is survived by two sons, Barney Sefrit in Thailand, and George N. Sefrit and wife Judith in Bellingham; three grandsons; Eric D. Sefrit and Mark H. Sefrit in Bellingham; Scott B. Sefrit of Seattle; two granddaughters: Amy E. Sefrit and Linda Sefrit Erickson of Bellevue; three great grandchildren in Bellevue, her sister, Lucille Thurlow of Twisp and cousin Jessie Austin in Bellingham. Her brother, Donald Norris, preceded in death in 1974. At Mrs. Sefrit's request no services will be held. She wished to be remembered by her friends and family in their own quiet, personal ways. A private family memorial will be held at a later date. Cremation, Greenacres.

SEFRIT, Ethel, age 80, passed away in a local hospital Monday, May 10, (1954). Mrs. Sefrit had resided in this community for the past 43 years, and was the widow of the late Frank L. Sefrit, general manager of The Bellingham Herald. Surviving relatives include two sons, Charles L. Sefrit, and Ben H. Sefrit, both of Bellingham; a daughter, Mrs. J. R. Bowers of Port Orchard, Wash.; seven grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. The remains rest at the funeral home of Harlow-Hollingsworth where private services were conducted by the Rev. James M. Wilson, Tuesday, May 11, at 4 p.m. Cremation.

SEFRIT, Frank I., age 82, of the Bellingham Hotel, passed away in a local hospital Saturday, May 27, (1950). Mr. Sefrit had, during his lifetime, been actively engaged in newspaper publishing; was the vice president and general manager of the Bellingham Publishing Co.; was a member of Whatcom Lodge No. 151, F. and A.M., all bodies of Scottish Rite, of which he held the 32nd degree; had, in the past, been active in the Elks Lodge, Knights of Pythias, Eagles and Rotary Club; and had been an active member of the Hobby Club since 1912. Surviving relatives are his widow, Ethel L. at home; two sons, Charles L. and Ben H., both of Bellingham; one daughter, Mrs. Irene Bowers, of Pt. Orchard; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. The remains rest at the funeral home of Harlow-Hollingsworth, where services will be conducted by the Rev. James Martyn Wilson, Wednesday, May 31, at 4:00 p.m. Cremation.

SEGEL, Albert J., age 66 of 3808 Hatley Rd., Everson, passed away Sunday Oct. 30, (1977). Mr. Segal (sic) had resided in Whatcom County for the past 58 years and was the past owner of B.B. Lumber. He leaves to survive his wife, Nada of the family home, 3 sons, Tom of Laurel, Jerry & Mike both of Ferndale, 7 grandchildren, 1 great-granddaughter, 1 brother, Richard Vanderpoel of Osooyos, B.C. SEGEL, Beulah, age 87, of 1416 Texas, Bellingham, passed away Nov. 2, 1990 at St. Joseph Hospital. Mrs. Segel was born July 17, 1903 in Everson and was a lifetime resident of Whatcom County. She was preceded in death by her husband John L. Segel in 1977. Survivors include 1 son, Jack Segel & wife Olaug of Tacoma; 2 grandchildren. Graveside services will be held Mon. SEGEL, John, of Lynden, passed away Friday, March 23, (1945) at a Bellingham hospital following a lingering illness. Mr. Segel was 71 years of age and had been a resident of the Lynden district for the past 26 years. He leaves to mourn one daughter, Mrs. Jo S. Hyland, of Bellingham; four sons, John L. and Bert, both of Bellingham, Peter Vanderpool, of Lynden and R. C. Vanderpool, of Vancouver, B.C.; two brothers, Martin Segel, of Lynden, and Nels Segel, in New Jersey; also four grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Monday, March 26, at 2 p.m. from the Gillies Funeral Home in Lynden. Interment in Monumenta Cemetery.

SEGEL, John Leonard, Jr., age 75, of 2302 E. Sunset, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 23, (1977) at his home. He had been a resident of Whatcom County since 1941. He is survived by his wife, Beulah of home; 1 son, Jack, Tacoma; & 2 grandchildren. Services will be conducted Thursday, Aug. 25 at 10:30 a.m. in the Chapel of Westford Funeral Home, with Doug Anderson officiating. Burial will follow at Greenacres Memorial Park.

SEGEL, Martin T., of 1403 Meridian Road, passed away at his home Monday, April 26, (1954) following a lingering illness. He has been a resident of the Lynden district for the past 30 years. Mr. Segel is survived by his wife, Daisy; one brother, C. C. Segel, in New Jersey; several nieces and nephews. SEGEL, Nada Helen, 72, died Thurs. Oct. 20, 1988. Born Oct. 3, 1916 in Maple Falls, she was a life long resident of Whatcom County; she was preceded in death by her husband A. J. Segel in 1972. Nada is survived by her mother, Verna Withers; 3 sons, Jerry Segel & wife Janice of Ferndale, Mike Segel & wife Lonnie of Ferndale, Tom Segel & wife Karen of Bellingham; 8 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; numerous nephews & nieces & 2 half-sisters, Joyce Proctor of Welcome, WA & Pat O'Brian of Pasorobles, CA. SEGOVIA, Eutiquia B. - Christian prayer services for Eutiquia B. Segovia, 74, 6417 Mount Baker Highway, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Jerns & LeVeck Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. John Madigan officiating. Burial will be in Enterprise Cemetery. Mrs. Segovia died Sunday (March 30, 1986) at St. Luke's Hospital. She was born in the Philippines Feb. 14, 1912, and had lived in Bellingham and Whatcom County the last two years. She attended Catholic churches here. She is survived by a daughter, Rosario Smith, of Deming, and a son Jose Segovia of the Philippines.

SEHOLM, Clarence E. - Memorial services for Bellingham native Clarence E. "Gene" Seholm will be held Thursday in Burlington. A teacher at Allen Elementary School in Burlington, Mr. Seholm died Sunday, May 24, (1992), in Anacortes. He was 56. Services Thursday will be 2:30 p.m. at Hulbush Funeral Home in Burlington. Officiating will be the Rev. Bob Cassels of Calvary Baptist Church in Burlington. Inurnment will be at Greenacres Cemetery in Ferndale. Born Dec. 20, 1935, in Bellingham, Mr. Seholm was the only son of Clarence E. and Jessie O. Seholm. He graduated from Bellingham High School in 1953, earned a teaching degree at Western Washington University and served in the Army for three years in Europe. A member of the Teachers Association and Burlington Eagles No. 3242, he taught in the Burlington schools for 25 years. Mr. Seholm married Nancy J. Heidman in Bellingham on March 9, 1963. Surviving are his wife, of the family home; sons Brian E. Seholm of Oviedil, Fla., and Dean A. Seholm, Bradley L. Seholm and Mark R. Seholm, all of Burlington; daughter Rosemarie O. Lingbloom of Bellingham; two grandchildren; his mother, of Bellingham; and an aunt, Elsie Seholm of Richland. Arrangements are by Hulbush Funeral Home.

SEHOLM, Danny, age 18 months, beloved son of Mr. and Mrs. Eaver Seholm, 3808 Flynn Street, passed away at a local hospital Saturday, Dec. 22, (1945) after an illness of one week. Danny leaves to survive, beside his parents, two little sisters, Kristin Joyce and Linda; two grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Dodd, of Bellingham; also numerous other relatives. SEHOLM, Dessa, of 2613 Park Street, passed away suddenly at her home Tuesday, August 26th, (1952). She is survived by one son, Clarence E. Eugene Seholm, also of this city; three brothers, Carl, Albert and Axel Lindquist; one sister, Mrs. Simon Johnson; several nieces and nephews, all of Bellingham. He had been a lifetime resident of Whatcom County & was very active & well known in the Silver Beach Community. SEHOLM, Hedwig "Hedi", age 19, of Route 1, Lake Stevens, passed away at the family home Friday, Sept. 30, (1960). Mrs. Seholm had resided at Lake Stevens for the past six months and was a former resident of Bellingham. She leaves to survive her husband, C. Eugene Seholm; one daughter, Rosemarie Ottelia Seholm, both of the family home, her father, Karl Wirkner, also three brothers and two sisters, all of Germany. SEHOLM, Jacob Emil, age 73, of 2613 Park Street, passed away at the family home Friday, September 15, (1950) following a short illness. Mr. Seholm had been a resident of Bellingham for the past five years, coming here from Blaine where he had been a retired farmer, a member of the Townsend Club and attended the Broadway Presbyterian Church. Surviving relatives include his wife, Dessa; a son, Clarence, of Bellingham; a daughter, Miss Elsie Seholm, of Richland; a grandson, C. Eugene Seholm, of Bellingham; a sister in Sweden, and many nieces and nephews. SEHOLM, Mildred Elizabeth, age 13 years of 1211 Humboldt Street passed away in a local hospital Monday, July 4, (1960), following an extended illness. Mildred had been a resident of Whatcom County for her entire lifetime and was a member of the Central Lutheran Church. Survivors include her mother, Mrs. Elizabeth Seholm and her father, Earl Seholm; also one brother, Vernon at home; and several other relatives. SEHOLM, Nellie A., age 72, of 4429 E. Oregon St., Bellingham, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 28, 1989. She had been a lifetime resident of Whatcom Co. SEHOME, Henry V., 65, died Tuesday, (April 6, 1971) in a local nursing home. He was a former Blaine resident and had resided in Bellingham for 46 years. SEHRT, Robert E., Jr., age 11 days, 491 South State Street, passed away at home, Monday, Feb. 6, (1950). Robert leaves to survive his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert E. Sehrt, Sr.; one brother, Gene Richard Sehrt, at home; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Otto Sehrt, of Bellingham, and Mr. and Mrs. Levi Archuleta, of Olathe, Colo., and his maternal great-grandmother, Mrs. A. SEHRT, Walter Conrad, age 87, of 2122 James St., passed away in a local hospital, Tuesday, April 26, (1960). Mr. Sehrt had resided in Bellingham for the past 12 years; was a retired carpenter; was a member of the Carpenters Union; Parson Lodge No. 117, A.F.&A.M.; Coeur de Alene Commandery No. 17 K.T., York Rite Bodies, all of Parsons, Kan. Survivors are his widow, Ella, at home; one son, W. Conrad Sehrt Jr., of Bellingham; three grandchildren; three brothers, Otto of Bellingham, Will of Joplin, Mo., and Albert of Parsons, Kan.; four sisters, Miss Hattie Sehrit (sic), Miss Mabel Sehrt and Mrs. Hazel Musser, all of Parsons, Kan., and Mrs. Nora Neely of Galesburg, Kan. SEHRT, Walter Conrad (Connie) of 2623 Utter St., Bellingham, passed away of cancer on November 9, 1997 at the family home. He was 61. Born May 27, 1936 in Kansas City, Missouri, he was adopted at three months by loving parents Walter and Ella Sehrt of Parsons, Kansas. Walter moved to Whatcom County in 1949 and graduated from Mt. Baker High School. He worked for Bellingham Auto Parts, Mt. Baker Motors, Georgia Pacific and retired from Arco in September of 1994 after 23 years. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Jane. Walter is survived by his wife Delores of the family home, his children, Evelyn and husband Jerry Kyllingmark of Custer, Karen Sehrt of Bellingham, James of Sudden Valley, and grandchildren Aaron, Rachel and David Kyllingmark of Custer and Christopher Sehrt of Bellingham; beloved cousin w. SEIB, Willis F., age 62 of Friday Harbor, passed away Monday, March 21, (1966). Mr. Seib was a retired manufacturing representative and leaves to survive his wife, Mildred V., of the family house; two cousins, Edward J. SEIBERT, Agnes C., age 78, of Chuckanut Drive, passed away in a local hospital Sunday, June 12, (1955). Mrs. Seibert had resided in this community for the past six years and leaves to survive her husband, Frank, at home; numerous nieces and nephews, including Oscar Stromme of this city. SEIBERT, William David, 17, 1511 Willowbrook Place, died Thursday (Aug. 8, 1985) in a one-vehicle accident on Yew street Road. He was born July 3, 1968, in San Francisco, and came to Bellingham three years and two months ago from the San Francisco Bay area. He would have been a senior at Sehome High School this fall. Survivors include his mother, Mary Brown of Bellingham, and a sister, Jacqueline Brown, at the family home. At the family's request, no formal services will be held. A memorial service for friends will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday in Whatcom Falls Park.

SEIFRIZ, Otto, of Seattle, Washington, passed away Sunday evening, September 14, (1947) in a local hospital following a short illness. He had resided in Seattle for the past fifty years and was the deputy sheriff of King County. He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Genevieve Beckmeyer, of Seattle, Wash., and Mrs. Stanley Andahl, of Meadowdale, Wash., a brother, Richard Seifriz, of Milwaukee, Wis., and a sister, Mrs. Hildegarde Rudolph, of Milwaukee, Wis. SEIGMAN, Charles Dale, 66, Ferndale, died November 25, (1972). He had lived in Ferndale for 21 years. Mr. Seigman was a member of the United Church of Ferndale and treasurer of the Ferndale Rock Club. Survivors include the widow, Thelma Seigman; two daughters, Jean Elsbree, Manfield, and Marjorie Beek, Bellingham; two sons, Richard, Bellingham, and Charles Jr. in the army in the Panama Canal Zone; two sisters, Maude Applegate, Indianapolis, Indiana; and Ether Timmerman, Angola, Indiana; a brother Jerry, Tucson, Arizona; and 14 grandchildren.

SEIGNEURET, Erec Charles Bernard, infant son of Mr. and Mrs. Jean C. Seigneuret of 1212 24th St., passed away in a Seattle hospital on Tuesday, Feb. 27, (1962). Besides his parents he leaves to survive, a sister, Medeleine of the family home, grandparents; great-grandmother, uncles, aunts and other relatives in Vancouver, B.C., and Paris, France. Graveside services were held Thursday, march 1, at 11 a.m. at Bay View Cemetery under the direction of the Westford Funeral Home.

SEILER, Harry C. - A memorial service for Harry C. Seiler of Bellingham, will be held Tuesday, September 9, 1997 at 1:00 p.m. at Silver Beach Community Church in Bellingham. Mr. Seiler died Saturday, September 6, 1997. He was 87. Born April 25, 1910 to Max and Francis (sic) Seiler in Gloversville, N.Y. He moved to Washington with his wife Mabel in 1979. Harry dedicated his life to God and was a long time member of the Silver Beach Community Church. Preceded in death by his brothers, Paul Seiler, Alfred Seiler, Max Seiler, Joseph Seiler; sisters, Hilda Davis and Ester (sic) Krouse, all of Gloversville, New York. Survivors include wife Mabel Seiler of Bellingham; brothers, Charles Seiler of N.Y.; Howard Sprung of N.Y.; sons, Richard Seiler of Blaine, Thomas Seiler of N.Y., Carl Seiler of Bellingham, Raymond Seiler of AZ; daughters, Joan Culver of N.Y., Lynn Boyd of Bellingham; cousin Raymond Hallenbeck of Anacortes; 20 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. SEIMEARS, Anna, age 53 of Route 2, Blaine, passed away in a local hospital Thursday April 16, (1964) following an extended illness. She had been a lifetime resident of the Blaine area. SEIMEARS, Catherine Mary "Carrie" age 82 of Blaine, passed away May 19, 1995 at St. Joseph Hospital. Mrs. Seimears was born Sept. 8, 1912 in Glacier, WA, to Ben and Marie (Cescato) Cavalli and was a lifetime Whatcom County resident. Carrie was an 80 year member of St. Anne's Catholic Church, St. Anne's Altar Society and Blaine Senior Center. Her husband, Worth,passed away November 1980. She enjoyed crocheting and handiwork. She is survived by her two daughters, Mary and her husband Dolph Hill and Grace and her husband Jerry Bladies all of Blaine; her sister Helen Stutzke of Arlington, WA; and her six grandchildren, Marylee Hill of Federal Way, Dennis Hill and Michael Hill of Blaine, Tony Bladies of Lynden, Pauline Bladies and Cathie Painter of Chehalis, WA; seven great-grandchildren. An Evening Vigil Service will be held 7:00 p.m. Monday, May 22, 1995 at Jerns McKinney Chapel in Blaine. A Funeral Mass will be held 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 23, 1995, at St. Anne's Catholic Church followed by burial in Haynie Cemetery. Father Patrick McDermott will be celebrant. SEIMEARS, Clara Ella, age 78, who resided at 3903 Hoier Road, Blaine, passed away in a local nursing home on Sunday, February 20, 1983. She had been a long time resident of Blaine; was a member of the Christian Science; and leaves to survive her husband, Jesse of Blaine; 2 sons, Darral and Lionel, both of Seattle; 2 daughters, Louise Burnes of Seattle; Joy Derr of Mt. SEIMEARS, Emma, age 86 years, passed away March 11, (1953) in a local hospital following a short illness. She had been a resident of the Haynie district for the past 42 years. Mrs. Seimears is survived by one daughter, Miss Annie Seimears, of Blaine; three sons, Jess and Worth, of Blaine, and William, of Bellingham; nine grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Melvina Hartley of Kansas; one brother, Sam Davis, of Illinois; also several nieces and nephews. Services will be Saturday, March 14, 2 p.m., under the direction of the McKinney Funeral Home, with the Rev. Harold Slocum of the Methodist Church officiating. SEIMEARS, Jesse L., 84, a retired lumber mill worker, died Monday (Sept. 12, 1988) in Bellingham. Mr. Seimears lived at 5280 Northwest Road, Blaine. He was born on Jan. 10, 1904, in Elk County, Kan., but lived in Blaine most of his life. His wife, Clara, died in February 1984. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Moles Funeral Home Chapel, with Joseph E. Scott, a Christian Scientist Church reader, officiating. Burial will be in Haynie Cemetery in Blaine. Survivors include two daughter, C. Louise Burns of Seattle and Margaret Derr of Mount Vernon; two sons, Darrel of Valley Center, Calif. and James of Seattle; 13 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-granddaughter.

SEIMEARS, Worth, age 73, who resided in Blaine, passed away in a local hospital, Thursday, November 27, 1980. He had resided in Blaine for the past 68 years, was active in the Blaine Senior Activity Center. He leaves to survive his wife, Catherine (Carrie) Seimears of Blaine; 2 daughters, Mary Hill of Lynden; Grace Bladies of Blaine; 1 brother, Jess of Blaine; 6 grandchildren. SEISER, Lulu M., age 85, of 901 Forest Street, passed away in a local sanitarium December 13, (1961). Miss Seiser had resided in Bellingham 50 years and was a dressmaker and a member of the Christian Church. Survivors are two nieces in Ohio and Texas. SELANDER, Jonas, age 92, passed away at the home of his granddaughter, Mrs. Catherine May, of 141 Grant Street, Thursday, October 7, (1948). Mr. Selander had resided in this community for the past 42 years and was a retired carpenter. Deceased was a member of the Church of Latter Day Saints and leaves to survive one son, Olaf, of Bellingham; three other grandchildren, Kenneth Selander, of Seattle, Miss Ingrid Selander, of Washington, D.C., and Miss Britt Marie Selander, of Bellingham; also three great-grandchildren. SELANDER, Olaf A., age 80, 1410 Grant Street, passed away at home Wednesday, September 4, (1963). Mr. Selander had resided in this community the past fifty-three years, and was an Auditor at the Seattle First National Bank for forty years before his retirement. He was a member of the Faith Lutheran Church; District Treasurer for the Order of Vasa; Past Master of Whatcom Lodge No. 151, F.&A.M.; a member of Scottish Rite Bodies; Nile Temple of Shrine; Sehome Chapter No. 17, O.E.S.; Order of Amaranth, and a member of Bellingham Lodge No. 194, B.P.O.E. SELBERG, Hannah J., age 84, of Salem, Ore., passed away in that city Saturday, Sept. 18, (1954). Mrs. Selberg, formerly a resident of Bellingham, had resided in Salem for the past 30 years and was a member of the Lutheran Church. She leaves to survive, two nephews, Alfred B. and Clifford M. SELBERG, Zoe, age 87 years, of Everson, Wash., Route 1, passed away in a Bellingham hospital Friday, June 10, (1949) after a brief illness. Mrs. Selberg who has been a former resident of Bellingham, was also a former Rebekah and Pythian sister. SELBY, Alice, age 73, of 1807 I Street, passed away in a local hospital Thursday, June 15, (1950). Mrs. Selby came here in 1898 with her husband, the late Hal B. Selby, pioneer Bellingham printer. She was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church and leaves to survive, her son, Thomas J. Selby, of Juneau, Alaska; one daughter, Mrs. Harry Honius, of Sacramento, Calif.; six grandchildren, and one sister, Mrs. Charles Benedict of this city. SELBY, Charles Elmer, of Redondo, Wash., a former Bellingham barber, passed away Saturday in an Auburn hospital at the age of 85 years. Born April 7 1863, in Crawford county, Iowa, he lived in Bellingham some twenty years before going to Redondo five years ago. He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Ethel Murray and one grandson, Howard Murray, in Redondo. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Taylor-Lightel mortuary in Auburn, the Rev. Robert Maulden officiating. The remains will be brought to Greenacres Memorial Park for interment, with graveside services there about 3 p.m.

SELBY, Gertrude Ross, age 83, passed away in the Skagit Valley Convalescent Center September 14, 1979. She was a retired employee of Puget Sound Power and had resided in the Bellingham area most of her lifetime. SELBY, Richard, age 80, who had resided with his daughter, Mrs. Fern Hallus of 2400 Jaeger St. for the past 10 years passed away in a local hospital Sunday, Nov. 25, (1956). Mr. Selby was a retired miner; had attended the Spiritualist Church and was a member of the United Mine Workers Union of America. SELDOMRIDGE, Phillip W., age 96, passed away peacefully of natural causes on Nov 22, (2006). He was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Phyllis E. Seldomridge. Phillip lived a long and interesting life, most of which he dedicated to public service. He was a resident of Whatcom Co for 64 years; a Whatcom County deputy sheriff for more than 25 years; and a coordinator with the sheriff's department for Civil Defense and Mountain Rescue. He was a veteran of World War II serving with the US Navy group in China. Phillip was active with the Boy Scouts, the Northwest Shriner's, the Masonic Temple, American Legion, VFW, and many other organizations. He is survived by his daughter Donna - Don Oehler and his son Charles - Arline Seldomridge, a daughter-in-law Sonja Seldomridge, seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Memorial services will be held at the VFW hall Saturday, December 2 at 2:30 p.m.

She had been a resident of this community since 1938, was a member of the Good Sam Trailer Club and former member of the Eastern Star and the Garden Club. She was married to Philip W. Seldomridge for 49 years. She is survived by her husband Phillip W., 1 son Charles B. Seldomridge of Lacey, Wash., 1 daughter Mrs. Donna Oehler of Bellingham, 2 brothers Keith W. SELENE, Dale F., age 63, of 4738 Wynn Road, Bellingham, passed away Sat. Dec. 7, 1991 at home. He was born Sept. 27, 1928 to Fred and Pauline Selene in Bellingham and was a lifetime Whatcom County resident. He attended Immanuel Bible Church of Bellingham, was retired from Georgia Pacific Corp. after 40 years employment as a Machine Tender; was a member of Local #309 Associated Pulp & Paper Workers of Bellingham. Mr. Selene served in the U.S. Army in the Koran Conflict; loved fishing and hunting and was a true sportsman. Mr. Selene was a very loving and caring person and a devoted son and father. He married Betty Mercer in 1951 in Bellingham. Survivors, his beloved wife Betty of the family home; son Dennis W. Selene of Bellingham; daughter Sheryl and husband William Baldwin of Everett; grandsons William C. Baldwin; father Fred M. Selene of Bellingham; brother Gerald Selene and wife Jane of Oak Harbor; aunts Verna Brownrigg and Mary Morrissey of Bellingham; numerous other relatives and friends. Graveside services will be Wed. SELENE, Fred Milton, 92, 700 32nd, Bellingham, died Monday April 19, 1993 at St. Joseph Hospital. He was born April 20, 1900 in Blaine, WA to Truls and Hannah Seline. He attended school at Pleasant Valley. He worked in logging and shingle mills and drove milk truck throughout Whatcom Co. He was a carpenter for many years with E. Selene and Sons Construction. In 1926 Fred married Pauline Katherine Bodlos in Bellingham at Sacred Heart Church. He loved the outdoors, hunting and fishing with family. He had a gentle and kind heart. Preceded in death by his wife, Pauline Selene in 1979 and a son, Dale Selene in 1991. Survived by a son, Gerald Selene and wife Jane of Oak Harbor, WA; daughter-in-law Betty Selene, grandchildren, Dennis, Richard and Michael Selene, and Debby, Berry, and Sheryl Baldwin. A Vigial for the deceased will be at Westford Funeral Home Chapel, 6:30 p.m. Thursday, April 22, 1993. SELELNE, Golda May, age 52 years, passed away at her home, Tuesday, April 23, (1946) after a lingering illness. She was a resident of 3009 Northwest Avenue. Mrs. Selene came to the Pleasant Valley district with her parents in 1902 and lived there until three years ago when she and her husband moved to Bellingham. She is survived by her husband, Robert G. Selene; one son, Robert J., of San Francisco; two sisters, Mrs. Carl Krause and Mrs. Harry Krause, both of Bellingham; her father, Joseph Gossage, of Ferndale. Funeral services will be held at the Monroe Chapel in Ferndale, Friday, April 26, at 2 p.m. Interment, Enterprise Cemetery.

SELENE, Harry L., 70, 1200 Lincoln St., died Monday (May 14, 1990) at St. Joseph Hospital. The lifelong Bellingham resident was born on Feb. 17, 1920, in Bellingham. He married Lillian Wright on Jan. 2, 1942, in Seattle. She died in 1986. Mr. Selene was a bus driver for Whatcom Transportation Authority. He was a member of the Congregational Church and the Bellingham Elks Club. Survivors include son Frederick of the family home; daughter Jeanette Gilbert of Seattle; and a granddaughter. SELENE, Mary Leah, 95, 2726 Alderwood Ave., died Wednesday (April 7, 1982). She was born Nov. 29, 1886, in Iowa, and had been a Bellingham resident for 75 years. She was an active member of the St. Luke's Assistance League for many years. She was also a member of the First Congregational Church. She is survived by a son, seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Her husband, Emil, died in 1968 and a son, Edward, in 1972. Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Monday in Greenacres Memorial Park, the Rev. Donel McClellan officiating. Those who wish may meet at Westford Funeral Home one-half hour before the service.

SELENE, Pauline, age 70 of 706 13th St., B'ham. passed away in a local hospital Sat. April 7, 1979. She was a lifetime resident and member of the church of the Sacred Heart. Survived by her husband Fred, 2 sons, Jerry of Oak Harbor, Dale of B'ham. 5 grandchilden, 2 sisters, Mrs. Mary Morrissey and Mrs. Verna Brownrigg, both of B'ham. SELENE, Rhoda, 3009 Northwest Avenue, age 72, passed away in a local nursing home Tuesday, May 17, (1966). A seventeen year resident of this city, Mrs. Selene was a member of Faith Lutheran Church. She is survived by her husband, Robert G.; a step-son, Robert J. Selene of Olympia; two grandchildren; two sisters, Miss Venela Johnson and Mrs. Mabel Peterson, both in Kansas City, Missouri. SELF, Joe, age 48. Resident of 730 Sterling St. died Feb. 21, (1978). He was born March 2, 1949 in Del Rio, Tenn. He was a career service man, serving with the U.S. Army in the Korean and Vietnam conflict, retiring in 1967. Survived by his wife Blanche, 1 son Marko of Sedro Woolley, 1 daughter Eileen McMahan of Concrete, 8 brothers, 1 sister and 3 grandchildren. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Fri. SELHAVER, John C., age 83 years, 2504 Cedarwood Avenue, passed away at a local hospital, Tuesday, January 15, (1946). Mr. Selhaver had resided here for the past forty-three years, was a building contractor and a member of the Congregational Church. Surviving are one son, Harvey L. Selhaver, of Bellingham; one brother, Christ Selhaver, of Minneapolis, Minn.; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild. SELINE, John T., age 77, 1418 Ellis Street, passed away Sunday, Dec. 13, (1964). An eleven year resident of this community, Mr. Seline had resided in Sioux City, Iowa for many years, and was a salesman before retiring. SELINE, Margaret B., 67, of 808 W. Illinois St., passed away in a local hospital Sunday, May 19, (1957). Mrs. Seline had resided in Sioux City, Iowa, for 43 years prior to her moving to Bellingham 3 1/2 years ago. SELKE, John Robert age 89 of Mt. Vernon died Sat. Feb. 18, 1989 at Alderwood Park Nursing Home in B'ham. He was born June 7, 1899 in Latvia a son of John F. & Pauline Selke. His family came to B'ham when he was 11 yrs. old. He married Emily Snow in 1925; they made their home in B'ham until 1961 when they moved to Mt. Vernon. Mr. Selke worked as a lumberman & a poultry farmer. He was a member of the Grange for 55 yrs. He was preceded in death by his wife Emily in 1986 & two brothers. He is survived by two daughters, Betty Slater of Mt. Vernon & Joyce Baker of Lebanon, OR; a sister Anna Cain of B'ham; 6 grandchildren & 10 great grandchildren. A memorial service for John R. He was born October 25, 1914 at Monahan (King Co.), his marriage to hazel Steinman took place May 11, 1939 in Glendive, Montana. He had resided in Montana for many years prior to moving to Skagit County in 1939. He was a retired carpenter and member of Carpenter's Local, No. 954, Mt. SELLERS, Jessie Mae - Services for former Bellingham resident Jessie Mae Sellers, 84, were April 1 at Mountain View Memorial Gardens in Mesa, Ariz. Mrs. Sellers died March 28, (1989) in Mesa. She was born Aug. 22, 1904, in Bellingham. She graduated from Whatcom High School and Western Washington University. Mrs. Sellers taught school in Washington, Oregon and Hawaii in the 1920s. She married Dean Sellers in 1930. Survivors include a son, William Sellers of New Zealand; a daughter, Donna Sellers of Hawaii; one sister, Margaret Kilian of Washington; eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

SELLS, Iola Grue, 78, 7806 Birch Bay Drive, Blaine, WA, passed away January 25, 1991 at her home. She was born May 11, 1912, in Bellingham WA, lived in Seattle for many years before moving to Birch Bay 1 1/2 years ago. SELLS, Ollie Doris, of Tacoma, passed away in that city Thursday, June 11, (1953). Mrs. Sells was a member of the St. James Presbyterian Church and had been a resident of Bellingham for 45 years prior to her moving to Tacoma five years ago. SELMER, Charlie, age 88, of 1601 Humboldt Street, passed away in a local hospital Monday, March 17, (1952). Mr. Selmer had resided here for the past 52 years and was a member of the Lutheran Church. He had been in the employ of the Lind Gravel Company for a number of years and also had been with the City Water Department for a number of years. SELTON, Nuben S. "Ben", age 99, of Bellingham, passed away Thurs., Feb. 25, 1999, at St. Francis Extended Health Care. He was born Aug. 6, 1899, in New Whatcom, WA (currently known as Bellingham) to Nels and Belle (Sauset) Selton and had been a lifetime Whatcom County resident. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corp during WWI. Mr. Selton was employed as a violin repairman and as a shoe salesman at Hilton's for many years. He was a member of the Bellingham Senior Center where he loved to dance. His hobbies included boat building and cruises to Alaska. Survived by his nephew, Leonard Lindstrom of Bellingham; niece, Louise Vollmer of Grandview; cousins, Eloise Dickerson of Redmond and Claris Touchette of Lake Stevens and care giver, Irene Kasson of Bellingham. SEMERINA, Aksinya Danilovna of Bellingham died at home Friday, June 30, 2000. She was 92. A funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Jones-Moles Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Enterprise Cemetery in Ferndale. Born March 15, 1908, in Bryansk, Russia, to Daniel and Varya Koroljova Kondarev, she emigrated from Moscow to the United States in June 1993. SEMLER, Clarence W., age 70 years, of 2105 F Street, passed away in a local hospital Wednesday, February 18, (1953) following a short illness. He had been a resident of Bellingham since 1937 and was a retired farmer. Mr. Semler was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church. He is survived by his wife, Amanda; one son, Oscar, of Bellingham; two daughters, Mrs. Mabel Stewart, of Williston, N.D., and Mrs. Ella Zeller, of Spokane; nine grandchildren; four brothers, Mike, Harry, and John Semler, of Fairborn, Ohio, and Ed Semler, of Springbrook, N.D.; two sisters, Mrs. Wilbur Schildkmecht and Mrs. Harvey Miller, both of Fairborn, Ohio. SEMMEN, Tormod Andreas, of 2859 Cedar Avenue, Lummi Island, expired May 5, (1991) following a gallant fight against cancer. Tor was born January 6, 1924 in Oslo, Norway. He was a Naval Cadet who escaped from his native land to serve with the Allied Forces throughout WWII. He was decorated with the King Haakon VII medal for Meritorius Service. Following his five years of military service he attended Dartmouth College, USA, began his career an an Engineer in construction in North and South America. His marriage to Vera Belanger at Scenic Estates on Sept. 20, 1980 began a new life with a new family. He loved Lummi Island and its people. He served on the Board of Lummi Island Community Club and was also on the Board of Directors of the Norwegian Seamens War Veterans Group, in Seattle. Our Viking has cousins in Norway, and is mourned by his loving wife, Vera; daughter Joanna Ferlan and her husband Tom; and grandchildren Robby and Jilly in Seattle. A son, Robert Belanger and wife Edna of Boise, Idaho and their children, Amy, Tracey, Jarred, Aaron and Quincey. Farewell service will be held at Lummi Island Church at three o'clock on May 11th. SEMMEN, Vera H., age 83, of Lummi Island, passed away Friday Oct. 8, 1993, in Bellingham. Born Feb. 23, 1910 in Hillsboro, OR to John and Sophie Hensley. A resident of Lummi Island for 21 years. Mrs. Semmen was a Member and Board Member of the Lummi Island Congregational Church and Scenic Estates; active all her life, taught yoga at the Bellingham Senior Center; currently playing the guitar with the Blazing Guitars, love Line and Clog dancing; an active member of the Mermaids and this year was crowned Queen of the Sea; member of the Lummi Island Grange. Survived by daughter Joanna & husband Tom Ferland, their children, Rob Thompson and Jill Ferlan, all of Seattle, Lenora and husband B. J. Jost of Palo Alto CA, their daughter Bonnie and her son Chris; son, Robert & Edna Belanger of Boise, ID and his 5 children and families. SEMOFF, Peter, age 71, of Lummi Island, passed away at home Tuesday, Aug. 21, (1962). A 39-year resident of Whatcom County, Mr. Semoff was a retired miner, having been employed in the Bellingham Coal Mine for 28 years. He was a member of the F.O. Eagles, Aerie 31, and the United Mine Workers of America, Local 6349. He is survived by his widow, Hazel F. Semoff at home. She was owner/manager of the Evergreen Motel. Survivors are her two sons, Charlie and Cameron Seneca; three daughters, Christiane and Cherie Coco and Casey Seneca, all of Bellingham; mother, Alma Richard all of Louisiana; brother, David Richard and sister Joan Ellen Santoy of Louisiana. SENICA, Caroline Adelle - Funeral services for Caroline Adelle Senica, 60, of 320 E St., Blaine, will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Greenacres Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Don Walter officiating. After graduating from Western Washington State College, she taught school in Arlington and then Blaine Elementary School for 27 years. Survivors include a son, Harry W. SENIOR, Floy A., 87, died August 15, 1994 in a Bellingham nursing home. She was born August 2, 1907 in Everett and had lived here all her life until moving to Bellingham in 1990. Mrs. Senior graduated from Everett High school in 1926 and had worked for the Everett school District as a cook from 1957 until retirement in 1969. She was happiest living and caring for her family and the children of friends. Mrs. Senior is survived by her husband Benjamin of Bellingham; two daughters Marge Sontra and her husband Keith of San Jose, CA and Dorothy Nasman and her husband Dave of Bellingham; her brother Cam, and his wife Mickey of Everett; 8 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be Saturday, August 20, 1994 at 10 a.m. at the Everett Free Methodist Church. Private burial will be in Cypress Lawn Cemetery, Everett. SENTER, Claude E., age 76, formerly of 1400-12th St., passed away in a local convalescent center Tues. Feb. 21st. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Parish & leaves to survive his wife, Madelyn F. Senter of B'ham. Graveside services will be held Fri. SENTER, Madeline of 1400 12th St. passed away Sat. April 19, (1980). Mrs. Senter had been a resident of Bellingham for many years. A member of The Church of The Sacred Heart. SENTER, Mary E. - Graveside services for Mary E. Senter, 76, Tacoma, who died in that city Friday, (July 6, 1956) will be conducted by the Dr. W. Carl Calhoun at 3 p.m. Monday at Greenacres Memorial Park, where interment will be under the direction of the C. O. Lynn Funeral Home, Tacoma. Included among surviving relatives is a sister, Mrs. W. H. Kaylor, Bellingham.

SENUM, Julie of 134 Grover St., Lynden, died Sunday, May 23, 1993. She was 89. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Hope Lutheran Church in Lynden with the Rev. Wesley Howell officiating. Her ashes will be buried in the Haven of Honor at Valhalla Mausoleum Park in Los Angeles. Born Julia Genevieve Johnson in Karu, Estonia, on April 20, 1904, she received her teaching certificate in 1932 in Canada and became a U.S. citizen in 1938. Ms. Senum spent many years teaching in Canada and the United States. She spent her retirement years in the Lynden area, where she was a member of Hope Lutheran Church. She was preceded in death by son Rodney Tellef Senum in 1976, and is survived by nephew William Ritchie of Victoria, B.C. Arrangements by Gillies Funeral Home.

SENUTY, Josephine - Our dear mother, mother-in-law and grandmother passed away October 2, 1997, leaving us full of her love and memories. The life she shared with us was a joyful one of living. She will be remembered in our hearts and as part of us and will reflect in our lives always. Her words, wisdom and mannerisms are reflected in her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She passed on with grace. Josephine was born March 21, 1899 in Goldendale, Washington to Stephen and Olive (Hardison) Marlett. SENUTY, William T., age 86 of 1703 E. Maplewood, passed away Sunday, Dec. 24, (1978). Mr. Senuty had resided in Bellingham for the past 5 years and was retired from the Shell Oil Co. He leaves to survive his stepson, Milton Kairis of Seattle, 1 grandson, William, 3 great-grandchildren, 1 brother, Peter Senuty of this city, a sister, Margaret Woodcock of Santa Monica; several nieces & nephews. SEPICH, Milka, age 66 years of 3720 Beal Street, passed away in a local hospital Friday, May 17, (1957). Mrs. Sepich came from Yugoslavia to this country in 1910 and had resided in Bellingham the past 36 years and was a member of the Church of the Assumption and the Croatian Fraternal Society. She leaves to survive her husband, Roman of the home; two sons, Rudy and Milan, both of this city; one daughter, Mrs. Olga Guldseth of this city; three grandchildren, Karen and Steven Guldseth, and Gary Sepich, all of this city; two brothers and one sister, all of Yugoslavia. Rosary will be said Sunday, May 19, at 7 p.m. within the Cathedral Chapel of the Westford Funeral Home. A 44 year resident of this community, 50 year member of Bellingham Bay Lodge No. 44 F&AM, Nile Temple of the Shrine, Scottish Rite Bodies, Rotary Club, BPO Elks Lodge No. 194, Business Manager of St. Luke's Hospital for 10 years and holder of the Boy Scouts Silver Beaver Award. SEREGELY, Helen – A funeral service and interment for Helen (Bodie) Seregely of Bellingham will be held in Indiana. Mrs. Seregely died Wednesday, April 26, 2000 in Bellingham. She was 99. Mrs. Seregely was born Oct 10, 1900 to Andrew and Bertha (Petho) Bodie in Hungary. Survivors include son Daniel W. Seregely of Ventura, Calif.; daughter Helen Natyn of Bellingham; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Arrangements are pending with Jones-Moles Funeral Home.

SERGISON, John, age 54, of 2410 Lafayette Street passed away at the family home Wednesday, June 8, (1955). Mr. Sergison had been a resident of Bellingham for the past nine months, and was an engineer for Wilte & Co., and a life member of Masonic Lodge in Philadelphia. He is survived by his wife, Helen B. Sergison, Bellingham; one daughter, Mrs. Betty Willcoxen, Long Beach, Calif. Private family services were held Friday, June 10, at 1 p.m. within the Cathedral Chapel of the Westford Funeral Home, followed by cremation.

SERPA, Elmer Joseph, age 75, of 1584 Marine Dr., passed away Tues. Jan. 3, (1989) at his residence. He had been a retired Gas & Electric employee, San Jose, Ca. for some 38 years;; member Bellingham Elks Lodge No. 194; Veteran of U.S. Merchant Marines, WWII. He leaves to survive his wife Betty of Bellingham; a son, Richard of San Jose, CA; 2 grandchildren, Darren & Christine Serpa of San Jose, CA. Funeral services will be conducted by officers of Elks Lodge No. 194 BPOE, Thurs. Jan. 5 at 1 p.m. in the Chapel of the Westford Funeral Home.

SERRANO, Alma Delia Zepeda - A rosary for Alma Delia Zepeda Serrano of Ferndale will be said at 7 p.m. today at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Ferndale. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph, with Father Gilberto Mora officiating, followed by burial in Woodlawn Cemetery. Ms. Serrano died Tuesday, Oct. 10, 2000, in a traffic accident near Marysville. She was 26. Born Sept. 14, 1974, to Miguel and Angelita (Zepeda) Serrano in Tijuana, Mexico, Ms. Serrano came to Whatcom County 20 years ago. She is survived by two daughters, Samantha and Casandra Serrano, both of Ferndale her parents, also of Ferndale, three brothers, Miguel Serrano of Texas, Alvano Serrano of Mount Vernon and Victor Serrano of Oregon, sister Vanessa Serrano of Mount Vernon one niece and two nephews.

SERRATO, Tasha Nicole, infant daughter of Alex and Helen Serrato of 4779 Guide Meridian, Bellingham passed away suddenly at home on Saturday, September 10, 1983. She was born July 23, 1983 in Bellingham. Besides her parents, she is survived by her brother Jeremie, grandparents Juan and Lice Serrato and Robert & Helen Grafmyre all of Lynden; great grandparents Jose L. and Bertha Salazar of Lynden, Mrs. Lala Serrato of Harlingen, Texas and Mrs. Helen Vermillion of Lawrence, Kansas; numerous aunts, uncles & cousins. Mass of Christina Burial will be celebrated by Father Anthony Corrigan Tuesday, September 13, 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Lynden. Burial will follow in Lynden Cemetery.

SERRIN, Verta, 87, of 360 D St., Blaine, died Friday, (Jan. 26, 1990) in Blaine. Funeral services will be in Harrington, Kan. She was born Nov. 4, 1902, in Council Grove, Kan., and was a school teacher. Survivors include: a daughter, Helen Elardo of Ventura, Calif.; two sons, Edward Serrin of Bellevue and Thomas W. Serrin of Fargo, N.D. Local arrangements have been made through Jerns McKinney Funeral Chapel and Crematorium of Blaine.

SERRURIER, Gertrude, age 72, passed away April 3 in Elma, Wash. She was born in Lynden Feb. 26, 1910. Her husband preceded her in death in 1974. She graduated from Ferndale High School. Survived by 1 daughter, LeAnn Logan, Elma; 1 sister, Hattie Burke; 1 brother, Walter VanderYacht, both of Ferndale; 2 grandsons; 1 granddaughter. Funeral services at the Precht Funeral Home, Twisp, Wa. Thurs. at 11 a.m. Burial at Sullivan Cemetery, Winthrop, Wa.

SERRURIER, Rozetta, age 73, of Lynden, passed away at her home, Monday, July 3, (1950) following a short illness. Mrs. Serrurier had been a resident of the Lynden district for the past 39 years. She was a member of the Lynden Chapter of the Eastern Star and of the Past Matron's Club. Surviving relatives include a son, Gordon, of Kent; a daughter, Mrs. Boyd Ramsay, of Vancouver, Wash.; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Funeral services will be conducted, Friday, July 7, at 2 p.m. within the Gillies Funeral Home in Lynden with the Rev. Chester Blair officiating, followed by ritualistic services of the Eastern Star. Interment in Lynden Cemetery.

SERRURIER, Theodore Alexander, age 76 years of Lynden, passed away in a local hospital Monday, February 17, (1958) following a short illness. Mr. Serrurier had been an officer of the former First National Bank of Lynden for many years. He is survived by his wife. Lelia Serrurier; one daughter, Mrs. Thelma DeJong, Eureka, California; one grandson, Jack Stark, U.S. Army in Baltimore, Maryland; one great grandson, Kip Stark, San Francisco, California; one sister, Mrs. Alice Walker, Salem, Oregon; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, February 28 at 2 p.m. from the Gillies Funeral Home in Lynden with the Rev. Floyd Wells officiating. Followed by cremation.

SERSLAND, Edward, infant son of Mr. and Mrs. Arnold H. Sersland, of 2631 Russell Street, passed away at a local hospital Wednesday, Oct. 20, (1954). Graveside services will be conducted Friday, Oct. 22, at 2 p.m. in Babyland, Bay View Cemetery, with the Rev. Oscar A. Jacobson, pastor of the Central Lutheran Church officiating, under direction of the Westford Funeral Home.

SERVOSS, Marian M., 61, of Mount Vernon, died Feb. 9, 1992, in a Mount Vernon hospital. She was born in 1930 in Flandreau, S.D., to Roy and Euthel Lorentson. The family moved to San Bernardino, Calif., when she was 3, and then to South Bend, Wash. She graduated from South Bend High School in 1947. She married Nolan Servoss on Oct. 8, 1956, in South Bend. They relocated to Mount Vernon in 1961. He survives her at the family home. Mrs. Servoss was a secretary at the Educational Services District until her retirement in 1986. She was a member of the First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Mount Vernon. Other survivors include her son Robert Servoss of Kent; daughter Ronda Worstell of Gordenville, Texas; stepson Steven Servoss of Bellingham; stepdaughter Pamela Swarmer of Mount Vernon; brother Robert Lorentson of Snohomish; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday in First Evangelical Lutheran Church, 2015 E. Blackburn Road, Mount Vernon. The Rev. Mark Johnson will officiate.
