SCRIBNER, Bessie E., age 31 of 2315 Williams St., passed away Sunday, March 2, 1980. Mrs. Scribner was a 55 year resident of this community. She is survived by 3 sons, Ronald Scribner, Oak Harbor, Lester Scribner, Seattle and Charles Mentch, Orcas Island; 2 daughters, Mrs. Lola Deardorff, Mrs. Loretta Liberty, both city; 15 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Cora Higgs, Hayward, Calif.; several nieces and nephews. Graveside service Tues. March 4 at 3 p.m., Greenacres Memorial Park. Arrangements by Jones Funeral Home.SCRIBNER, Donna, age 79, a resident of Blaine since 1903, passed away in a Bellingham hospital Wednesday, Oct. 14, (1959). She is survived by four sons, Lawrence Lee of Bellingham, Bob Lee of Blaine, Cecil Lee of Riggins, Idaho, and Kenneth Lee of Long Beach, Calif.; one daughter, Mrs. Orrin Scribner of Springfield, Ore.; two brothers, Charles Jones of Olympia, Monte Jones of Klamath Falls, Ore.; nine grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at the McKinney Funeral Home, Monday, Oct. 19, at 2 p.m. with burial in the Blaine Cemetery.
SCRIBNER, Edwin R., age 61, of 2616 Elizabeth St., passed away in a local hospital, Tuesday, July 7, (1959). Mr. Scribner had resided in Bellingham for the past 45 years; was a stationary fireman for the P.S.P.&T. Co.; was a member of the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church and was a member of the Pulp & Sulfite Workers Union. Survivors are his widow, Lula M., at home; two daughters, Mrs. Jim Erickson, of Mount Vernon and Miss Marilyn Scribner, of Bellingham; two grandchildren; three brothers, Irwin, of Guemes Island, Charles, of Vancouver, Wash., and Dorman Price, of Mount Vernon; one sister, Mrs. Maud Parent, of Anacortes. The remains rest at the Jones Funeral Home where services will be conducted Friday, July 10, at 1:30 p.m. Final resting place, Greenacres Memorial Park.

Christensen officiating. Mrs. Scribner passed away Friday, June 18, 1982. SCRIBNER, Henry Alvin, 217 1/2 West Holly street, passed away Tuesday (Aug. 12, 1941) at the age of 79 years. He was a retired groceryman and a member of the First Presbyterian church. He had resided in Bellingham thirty-two year. Mr. Scribner is survived by the widow, Emily; one daughter, Mrs. Salena Alsop, of Seattle; two sons, Orville, of Everett, and Henry of Wrangell, Alaska; one brother; John, and two sisters in California; four grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted in the Homer Mark chapel Friday at 11 a.m. by the Rev. James M. Wilson. Cremation will follow.
SCRIBNER, Leslie A. - Funeral service for Leslie A. Scribner, age 78, of 700 Park Street, Friday Harbor, will be Wed. Dec. 1, 1 p.m. at Jones Funeral Home with R. L. Christensen, pastor, officiating and ritualistic service by officers of Bellingham Bay Lodge No. 44 F & AM. Mr. Scribner passed away Sat. Nov. 27, 1982. He is survived by 1 son & daughter in law, Bill & Barbara Scribner; 1 grandson & wife Rick & Jean Scribner; 1 granddaughter & husband Joan & Don Whitner; 2 great-grandsons, Kevin & Eric Whitner, all of Bellingham; 3 brothers, Walter & George of Seattle, Ray of Anacortes; 2 sisters, Cora Kirk and Alice Jorgenson, both of Anacortes; numerous nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Ethel on June 18 of this year. He retired as a meat cutter for Kings Market where he had worked for 34 years; also operated the Grange Store until its closure. Jensen of Van Nuys, Calif.; two sons, Guy of Seattle, Orrin, Springfield; three sisters, Mrs. Elsie Tucker, Bellingham, Mrs. Harry Copeland, Port Orchard, Mrs. George M. Ross of Montreal, Canada; one brother, Henry Scribner of Friday Harbor. Six grandchildren, three great-grandchildren. SCRIBNER, Virginia M., died in Vancouver, Wash., on Tuesday, Jan. 11, 1994. She was 78. Burial was at Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Vancouver. Born Sept. 28, 1915, in Red Wing, Minn., she grew up in Bellingham, graduating from Whatcom High School in 1933. She married Charles H. Scribner of Bellingham in 1935. They lived in the Vancouver area since 1944. She was preceded ub deatg by her mother, Agnes (Pehrson) Munger Vanderboom of Bellingham; her stepfather, William H. "Van" Vanderboom of Bellingham; and a brother, Elliott "Buck" Munger of Seattle. Survivors include her husband of Vancouver; daughter Jean D. Jordan of Vancouver; son Elliott W. Scribner, also of Vancouver; brother William H. Vanderboom of Bellingham; 10 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
SCRIMGER, Sarah, 82, passed away at her home here last night (May 29,1940) after a residence in Lynden of thirty-eight years. She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. A. J. Weeks, Lynden; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 10 a.m. in the Knapp & Knapp funeral home, with interment following in the Lynden Cemetery.
SCRIMSHER, Calvin A., age 88 years, of Route 4, Bellingham, passed away Friday, July 11th, (1952) at a local hospital, following a lingering illness. He was a member of the Modern Woodmen of America. Mr. Scrimsher is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Freda M. Stewart, Route 4, city; Mrs. Flossie R. McCollum, Route 3, city; one son, Vernon T. Scrimsher, Warrenton, Oregon; five grandchildren, Gale Stimson; Sgt. Gene W. McCollum, U.S. Marine Corps, Betty Longfellow; Beverly Broderick; and Bob Scrimsher; also two great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Sarah Hazer, and one brother, Ernest L. Scrimsher, both of Bellingham. Funeral services will be conducted Monday, July 14th, at 2 p.m. within the Chapel of the Bellingham-Dahlquist & Jerns Funeral Home, with the Rev. SCRIMSHER, Don E., age 68, of 5121 Everson-Goshen Rd., passed away in a local rest home Thurs., Jan. 12, (1978). A life time resident of the Bellingham area he was a retired machinist. Surviving are 2 daughters, Judy Hafenscher of Marysville and Penny Marshall of Redmond; a sister, Gladys Ehle of Bellingham; also 3 grandsons. At his request no services were held. SCRIMSHER, Earl Don, infant son of Mr. and Mrs. Don E. Scrimsher, Route 3, Bellingham, passed away at a local hospital, Wednesday, April 30, (1947). Besides the parents a little sister, Judy Mae survives, also four grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Scrimsher and Mr. and Mrs. Walter Jones, all of Route 3, Bellingham; also numerous other relatives. SCRIMSHER, Elwyn - Services for Elwyn "Gus" Scrimsher, 57, a machinist and lifelong resident of Ferndale, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Moles Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Richard Wyanski officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be from 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. today at the funeral home. Mr. Scrimsher, 2304 Thornton Road, died Sunday (Feb. 21, 1988) in Ferndale. He was born Feb. 15, 1931. Mr. Scrimsher was a member of the American Legion, Kulshan Post No. 154 and the National Rifle Association. He also was an active sportsman. He is survived by a brother, Bill Scrimsher of Bellingham; two sisters, Dorothy Carr of Ferndale and Eleanor Wade of South Bend; four nephews; two nieces; and numerous cousins and other relatives.

Mr. Scrimsher had resided in Whatcom County for the past 74 years; was a retired dairy and poultry farmer; was a member of the Whatcom County Dairymen's Ass'n. and the Washington Co-op. Survivors are one son, Don Scrimsher, of Bellingham; one daughter, Mrs. Gladys Ehle, of Bellingham; three grandchildren; three great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. SCRIMSHER, Helen Maxine, aged 27 years, passed away at her home, 2500 Elm street, Thursday afternoon, November 12, (1931) after an illness of about one month. Surviving relatives are one son and one daughter, Lewis and June Scrimsher, at home, mother, Mrs. Mattie Carsner, city; three brothers, Clarence R. Carsner, city; Lyle D. Carsner and John M. Carsner, Bothell; two uncles and two aunts, of whom Mrs. Lammart Beck resides at Lynden, and Frank Hyde at Concrete. Mrs. Scrimsher was a member of the First Christian church and had resided in Bellingham for the past nineteen years. The body rests at the Homer Mark Mortuary at Cornwall avenue and Halleck street, where funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon, November 15, at 1 o'clock with the Rev. Earl Hanson Fife officiating. Cremation will follow at the Homer Mark Crematorium.

SCRIMSHER, Roy, age 59 years, of Ferndale, Route 3, passed away suddenly while at work Wednesday, July 2nd, (1952). He had been a resident of Whatcom County his entire lifetime. Mr. Scrimsher was a member of the Kulshan Post American Legion, past president of the Whatcom County Old Settlers Association. Surviving relatives are his wife, Mamie; two daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Carr, Ferndale, Mrs. Eleanora Wade, Toppenish, Wash.; two sons, Billy at home, Elwyn, U.S. Air Corps, Fairbanks, Alaska. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, July 8th at 2 p.m. from the Monroe Chapel, in Ferndale, with Rev. C. Gene Albertson officiating. Interment Woodlawn Cemetery, with graveside services conducted by the Kulshan Post of the American Legion.
SCRIMSHER, William Leroy "Bill or Willie" a fourth generation Whatcom County resident, age 84, passed away March 5th, 2009 after a brief illness. A lifetime resident of Whatcom County, Bill was born December 6, 1924 in Bellingham, WA to Roy and Mamie (Rahorst) Scrimsher. Bill along with brothers Gus and Everett, and sisters Dot and Ellie, grew up on the family farm along the Nooksack River in Ferndale. Bill graduated from Ferndale High School in 1943, attended Washington College of Education in Bellingham, and received a Masters Degree of Food Biology from the University of Nevada, Reno. Bill was the Food Service Manager for the Ferndale School District for 18 years. He was a phenomenal baker and that was his passion. For 47 years he was the chef at Fisherman's Cove at Gooseberry Point which was owned by his aunt and uncle, Harold and Emma Jones. His clam chowder was known as the best in the area. He was appointed to the Old Settlers Association board of directors on July 28th, 1952. His dad built the Tillicum House for the caretaker of Pioneer Park. His great aunt once lived in a cabin on the site of the Ferndale Senior Center. In 1954, he ran the registration desk as the keeper of the list of old settlers until his retirement from the post in 2004. Bill sold the farm and moved to Bellingham in 1983. In 2000, he and his sisters were the Grand Marshalls of the Old Settlers Parade. He loved to travel and he went to Greece nine times where he visited his cousin Pete Kotsogeanis. Bill was a Past Master and active with the Ferndale Masonic Lodge #264, and was a Demolay Advisor. Bill also loved golf and as a Demolay advisor took the boys on many trips to national tournaments. He was a member of the National Jersey Cow Association and was a national judge. He was a volunteer with the Boy Scouts Troop 76 in Ferndale. He was an early member of the ski patrol at Mount Baker until he broke his leg which ended his skiing career. Bill never met a stranger and will be missed by his many friends. He truly loved cooking and baking and loved to share his delicious creations with everyone. Bill was a walking encyclopedia of local history. He knew many of the early families and could recite events and the people who were involved from all over the county. Bill was preceded in death by both parents and brothers Elwyn "Gus" Scrimsher and Everett Scrimsher. Bill is survived by son Randy Scrimsher and wife Marianne, granddaughter Dorian Scrimsher-Mayhew, grandson Tyler Boland, four great-grandchildren, sisters Dorothy "Dot" Carr and Eleanor "Ellie" Wade plus numerous nieces and nephews. Services to be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 16th, 2009, at Greenacres Funeral Home, 5700 Northwest Dr., Ferndale. Viewing one hour prior to service. Graveside services at Woodlawn Cemetery. Reception to follow at Pioneer Park, Ferndale.

Widow of the late Oliver C. Scudder, she was a 52-year resident of Bellingham. She was a past department president of the Spanish-American War Veterans Auxiliary, department of Washington and Alaska; was associated with the T.B. Assn., serving as secretary and president for many years; was formerly a member of the Library Board and was an active worker in the Red Cross. Mrs. Scudder is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Vida Armitage, of Bellingham. Private funeral services were conducted at the Jones Funeral Home by Dr. Stuart Benson Friday, Feb. 10, at 3 p.m., followed by cremation.
SCUDDER, Helen C., age 42 years, 919 E. Maple Street, passed away at a local hospital, Monday, August 2, (1948). Miss Scudder was born in Missouri and came to this city forty years ago. Following the teaching profession at a number of country schools and later entering our city school system, deceased retired from the teaching profession and for three years was with the U.S. Employment Service at Chehalis, Wash. Surviving relatives are her mother, Mrs. O. C. Scudder, of this city, and one sister, Mrs. Sidney C. Armitage at Basin, Wyo. The remains are at the funeral home of Harlow-Hollingsworth.
SCUDDER, Oliver C., age 68 years, passed away at a local hospital Thursday, July 12, (1945) following a short illness. Mr. Scudder came to Bellingham in 1909 from Chicago and was associated with the National Grocery Company and the Northern Grocery Company until 1922 when he entered the real estate business. He was a life member of the B.P.O. Elks Lodge No. 194. He was a veteran of the Spanish-American War. His survivors include the widow, Mrs. Ella N. Scudder and two daughters, Miss Helen C. Scudder, of this city, and Mrs. Sidney C. Armitage, Powell, Wyo., mother, Mrs. Amelia Scudder, Los Angeles, Calif., two brothers, Charles R., Los Angeles, and Harry D. Scudder, of Corvallis, Oregon. SCUTVICK, Anna E., 2321 Elizabeth Street, age 79, passed away Tuesday, May 31, (1966). A sixty-year resident of this community, Mrs. Scutvick had resided in the Lawrence are most of the time. She was a charter member of the Bethany Lutheran Church at Lawrence. Survivors are seven daughters, Mrs. Aletta Ford, Mrs. Ellen Hamlin, Mrs. Helen McDowell and Mrs. Eleanor Bard of this city; Mrs. Louise Wilson, Port Angeles; Mrs. Hazel Pingrey of Santa Monica, Cal., and Mrs. Agnes Sygizitowicz of Clipper, Wn.; two sons, Arthur Larsen, Eugene, Ore.; John Scutvick of Everson; thirty-nine grandchildren; sixty-five great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Helen Sebelius of Vantage, Sask., Canada and a brother, John Hoffos of Assiniboin, Sask., Canada. Services will be conducted by Rev. Richard Stussi Friday, June 3, a the Bethany Lawrence Church, where the remains will lie in state from 1:30 p.m. until service time at 2 p.m. under the direction of the Jones Funeral Home. SCUTVICK, John, Husband, Father, Grandfather, Brother and Friend passed away Tuesday, June 17, 1997 in Bellingham. John was a lifetime Whatcom County resident where he was born of Martin and Anna Scutvick on March 8, 1918, the youngest in a family of 8 sisters and 2 brothers. He graduated from Mt. Baker High School in 1936. Throughout his career he worked in the woods, built homes around the county and worked heavy construction. He retired and moved to Bellingham in 1976. He was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church, the Carpenters Union Local #756 and Elks Lodge #194. John's greatest joy in life was his family. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Arvella, of the family home; his three children, Dennis Scutvick of Bellingham, Judie Carvalho of Deming and Marsha Scutvick of Portland; his three grandsons, Jeff Carvalho and David Scutvick both of Seattle and Brad Scutvick of Bellingham; his sister, Peggy Sygitowicz of Clipper; and scores of nieces and nephews. A Funeral Service will be held 1:00 p.m. Friday, June 20, 1997, in Immanuel Lutheran Church at Lawrence with Pastor Stan Jacobson officiating. Burial will follow in the Immanuel Cemetery. SEABERG, William, age 68, who resided at 1530 State St., passed away in a local hospital Friday, Dec. 7, (1956) following a brief illness. Mr. Seaberg resided in Bellingham the past 50 years and was a veteran of World War I. He leaves no known surviving relatives. Rev. Alfred S. Palmer will officiate at funeral services on Tuesday, Dec. 11, at 10 a.m. in the Chapel of Bingham & Jerns Funeral Home. Cremation.
SEAFELDT, Albert C., Sr., 85, 926 Newell St. and a 41-year resident of Bellingham, died November 2, (1972). Retired in 1960, Mr. Seafeldt was a machinist with Skagit Corp. He was a WWI veteran. SEAGER, John H. - A 40-year resident here, John H. Seager, 79, 4131 Lakeway Drive, died Thursday (Oct. 14, 1965). He was a retired culinary and beverage worker. Mr. Seager was a member of Bellingham Workers Union Local 529. Survivors include the widow, Cora May, at home; a sister, Mrs. Vera Bellus of Portland, and a brother, Vernon in Alberta. SEAGER, Sarah Ann (Sallie), age 84, of 3216 Meridian, passed away in a local hospital Thursday, February 7, (1952). Mrs. Seager had resided here for the past 31 years and was a member of the First Christian Church. She is survived by two sons, John H. Seager, of this city, and Vernon B. SEAFELDT, Grace Edna, 89, of 926 Newell St., died Wednesday, April 15, 1992, in a Bellingham care facility. She was born June 18, 1902, in Bellingham to Edward and Mamie Gardner. She married Albert C. Seafeldt on Oct. 15, 1926, in Bellingham. He died in 1972. A resident of Whatcom County for most of her life, she was a member of Women of Fairhaven and the Bellingham Senior Center where she taught macrame. She earned certificates of appreciation from the Whatcom County Council on Aging for he dedicated service. Mrs. Seafeldt enjoyed gardening and swimming. Survivors include her sons Edward Seafeldt of Bellingham and Albert Seafeldt of Seattle; her daughter Dorothy Morrison of Mount Vernon; brother Tom Gardner of Seattle; seven grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. SEALUND, Earl J., age 56, a life time county resident and prominent Everson citizen, died at his home on Monday, February 20, 1984. Mr. Sealund, of 205 South Washington St., Everson, was born in Bellingham on July 28, 1927 and was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Lynden. For 27 years he had been employed at Hinotes Furniture and then eight years for the City of Everson prior to his illness. For 14 years he served on the Everson City Council and was also an active member of the Everson Volunteer Fire Department for 30 years. He was also active in the Everson Boy Scouts, a member of the Nooksack Cemetery Board, the Lynden Camels Club and the Mt. Baker Amateur Radio Club. He was married to Margaret Zender in Bellingham on March 31, 1947. He is survived by his wife, Margaret; a son, Terry and wife Jan of Lynden; two daughters, Mrs. Diana and husband Ted Lautenbach of Lynden, and Mrs. Linda and husband Terry VanKooten of Sumas; seven grandchildren, Tony and Tina Sealund, Michael, Darin and Lisa Lautenbach, and Keri and Travis Van Kooten; his mother, Mrs. Ellen Sealund of Everson; and numerous other family members. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Fr. Patrick Keaty on Friday, February 24, at 2 p.m. in St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Lynden. Burial will follow in Nooksack Cemetery. She immigrated to America with her husband and two children in October 1930. She is survived by two sons, Allan and wife Pat Sealund of Tonasket and Harold Sealund of Borrego Springs, Calif.; a daughter, Irene and husband Bruce Massey of Seattle; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; a brother and a sister in Sweden; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Warner Sealund, in 1975. A graveside service was held Monday at Nooksack Cemetery. Arrangements were made by Wiggen and Sons Funeral Home in Seattle.
SEALUND, Ellen, formerly of 217 S. Washington St., passed away at Sehome Park Care Center in Bellingham on Jan. 7, 1991 at the age of 88. Funeral services were conducted at Immanuel Lutheran Church with Rev. Larry Olsen officiating. Burial followed on Tuesday in Nooksack Cemetery. She was born in Everson on Jan. 28, 1902, a daughter of Gustav and Selma (Soderquist) Westergreen. She was married to her husband Pete O. Sealund in Bellingham on Aug. 22, 1918 and was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church at Lawrence. She was also a member of the Glen Echo Community Club, Home Demonstration Club and the Good Neighbor Club. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1970 and is survived by daughter-in-law Margaret Petty and husband Jim of Bellingham, three grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by a son, Earl in 1984. Services and arrangements were under the care of Gillies Funeral Home of Lynden.

Neil Higbee on Friday at 1 p.m. in the chapel of Gillies Funeral Home, Lynden. Burial will follow in Nooksack Cemetery. Visitation hours will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday and from 9 a.m. to noon Friday at Gillies Funeral Home. A lifelong county resident, Terry was born in Bellingham on Sept. 5, 1947 and was the son of Earl and Margaret (Zender) Sealund. He attended Nooksack Valley schools. For many years he was employed in the heavy construction industry as an equipment operator and had recently started his own construction company, Kendall Valley Construction. In June 1975 he was married to Mary Larson in Lynden and then to Cathy Thunstrom in Kendall on June 2, 1990. A member of Teamsters Local No. 231, Terry also served for 10 years on the Everson Volunteer Fire Department and had recently received his certification as a first responder for the Kendall Volunteer Fire Department. He was also an active hunter and fisherman and had a great love of the out doors. Besides his wife of the family home, Mr. Sealund is survived by a son, Tony Sealund, and a daughter, Tina Sealund, both of Lynden; step-daughter, Shawna Thunstrom of the family home; mother Margaret and husband Jim Perry of Bellingham; grandparents Sterlin and Anna Anderson of Bellingham; father Bill and wife Helen Fels of Maple Falls; sisters Diana and husband Ted Lautenbach and Linda and husband Jerry VanKooten, all of Everson; stepbrothers, Alan Perry and wife Sue of Bellingham and Scott Perry and wife Tami of Monroe; stepsister, Lesa and husband Greg Gilbert of Lynden; brother-in-law Cy Fels and wife Jo Ann of Federal Way; sisters-in-law, Helen Bragonza of San Francisco, Patty and husband Roy Fisher of Renton, Carol Fels of Kent and Sandy and husband Jeff Everitt of Renton; and numerous other relatives. SEALY, William, age 65, of Box 208 Chuckanut Drive, passed away in a local hospital Saturday, September 29, (1951). Mr. Sealy had resided here for the past 15 years and was the treasurer for the Puget Sound Pulp & Timber Company. Deceased was a member of the Episcopal Church, Bellingham Bay Lodge No. 44, F. & A.M. and was a Thirty-second Degree Mason and a member of the Shrine. Surviving relatives are his widow, Jessie, at home; one daughter, Mrs. Odessa Baldauf and one granddaughter, Miss Ann Sealy Baldauf, both of Bellingham; one brother, Jack and one sister, Mrs. Elsie Pannell, also a niece all in England. Robert Webb followed by the Rose Croix service by the Officers of Bellingham Chapter of Rose Croix Scottish Rite Masons, Tuesday, October 8, at 1:30 p.m. Cremation. SEAMAN, Chester, age 90, of 1200 Birchwood, passed away Wed., Jan. 18, (1978). He was a retired engineer. SEAMAN, Dody P. of Bellingham died Friday, Nov. 18, 1994, at Skagit Valley Hospital in Mount Vernon. She was 74. At her request there will be no funeral. Cremation was at Mount Vernon Crematory. Born Feb. 27, 1920, to Albert and Lola Brandt TenEyck in Aberdeen, she was educated in Aberdeen and lived in Bellingham since 1948. She married Donald C. Seaman on April 11, 1947, in Olympia. A member of Retail Clerks Union No. 240, she worked for Hillview Dairy for 15 years and at Clair's Supermarket. An avid University of Washington Huskies fan, she enjoyed working in her flower garden. Survivors include her husband, daughters Linda Dronen of Ferndale and Shelli Dayton of Bellingham, sons James D. Barnett Jr. of Hoquiam and Mark Seaman of Bellingham, seven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and numerous cousins. Arrangements are by Kern Funeral Home.
SEAMAN, Dorothy M., Dayton, Wash., age 72, passed away in that city Tuesday, December 27, (1966). Mrs. Seaman was a twenty-one-year resident of this city before moving to Dayton two years ago, and was the widow of the late J. Elmer Seaman. SEARL, Robert Bruce - Bellingham resident Robert Bruce Searl died Thursday, Nov. 12, 1992, in Bellingham. He was 67. Mr. Searl was born Sept. 11, 1925, in Vilna, Alberta, to LuVern and Oscar Searl. His family moved to Bellingham when he was young. Mrs. Seat died Saturday, Jan. 3, 1998, at St. Joseph Hospital. She was 57. Born Jan. 3, 1941, to I.G. and DeEsta Holmgren Sampson in Tremonton, Utah, she lived in Whatcom County for 16 years. She married Gary Seat Aug. 1, 1967, in Denver. Mrs. Seat graduated from Utah State University with a degree in elementary education. She worked as a teacher and homemaker. She enjoyed photography, watercolors and poetry. She was preceded in death by brother Ross Sampson. Survivors include her husband of the family home, son Eric Seat of Bellingham, daughter Kim Alidadi of Bellingham, two grandchildren and many other relatives. SEAVERS, Bonnie Susan age 58 of Normandy Park, Washington died September 13, 1997. Mrs. Seavers was a 37-year flight attendant for United Airlines. SEAWELL, Frank C., age 81, who resided at 567 Seamount Drive, Ferndale, passed away Monday, Nov. 22, (1976). He had been a resident of Whatcom County for the past 65 years and was a veteran of World War I and World War II and a life member of the VFW. He leaves to survive two daughters, Mrs. Robert St. Clair, and Mrs. Phil Toner both of Bellingham; one son J. B. Seawell, 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. SEBASTIAN, Craig Scott, 57 of Bellingham passed away peacefully at home on January 22nd, (2007) after losing his battle with cancer. He was surrounded by family and friends. He is survived by his devoted son Donny and his wife Gina and their two children Nickolas and Chase; brother Brian Sebastian of Bellingham and his two sons Chris and Josh both of Bellingham and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He was a good friend of Bill W. for many years. Craig was not a wealthy man but because he was such a special and unique friend, he was wealthy beyond his dreams with the special group of friends he held. He will be missed terribly by all and will always be remembered for his incredible generosity and sense of humor. His passion for river fishing gave him great joy and pride and his spirit will always be felt along the river banks and by those who shared his company. Special thanks to his special friend Louann Johnson, his Hospice Nurse Rolling and the entire Hospice team for all their help and support during his courageous journey. A memorial service will be held at a later date.

SEBENS, Alger - Funeral services for Mr. Alger Sebens, age 61, former Everson and Nooksack area resident, were conducted on Tuesday, June 3, at 2:00 p.m. in the Nooksack Valley Reformed Church with Rev. John Peterson officiating. Burial followed in Greenacres Memorial Park. An Oak Harbor resident for the past eight months, Mr. Sebens had resided at 1677 West Penn Cove Drive. He was born in Conrad, Montana and died in a Coupeville hospital on Friday, May 30, (1980). Before his retirement, he had owned and operated Valley Contractors for many years, was a member of the Nooksack Valley Reformed Church and was married to Rena VanMalkenhorst in Lynden on Nov. 8, 1940. He is survived by his wife Rena; a son Kenneth and his wife Susan of Oak Harbor; three daughters, Mrs. Jan and her husband Alan Ditcher of Anacortes, Mrs. Wilma and her husband James Knight of Oak Harbor, and Mrs. Susan and her husband Robert Driver of Long Beach, Washington; three grandsons; six brothers, Marion and John of Lynden, Henry of Everson, Peter of Ferndale, Clarence of Camano Island and Ed of Grandview; two sisters, Mrs. Dorothy Starkenburg of Lynden and Mrs. Betty VanDyke also of Grandview and numerous nieces and nephews. The daughter of Andrew & Ida Palmbush, she was born in Conrad, Montana on July 20, 1912 and first came to the Lynden area in 1937. She attended Bellingham Business College where she studied bookkeeping. In 1963 she moved to Skagit County and was employed as a bookkeeper at the WSU Research Station in Mt. Vernon. She returned to Lynden in 1993. Her favorite past time was quilting. She is survived by her children, Anita (Don) Gansler of Everson, Tom (Marilyn) Sebens in Gresham, Oregon and Frank Sebens in Lind, WA.; four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson and other relatives. Besides her parents, Clara was preceded in death by a son, Vic Sebens, grandson Randy Gansler, three sisters and two brothers. Private burial was in Ten Mile Cemetery. Arrangements were through the care of Gillies Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Lynden.

He was born Sept. 3, 1911 in Conrad, Mont. to Thomas and Julia Stebens, the eldest of 11 children. When he was 11, the family moved to Zillah and later to Lynden, where he worked for several years at the Lynden Dairy Products creamery. He is survived by four children; three brothers, John and Marion of Lynden and Edward of Grandview; and two sisters, Dorothy Starkenburg of Lynden and Betty Van Dyke of Grandview. A funeral was held Tuesday in Everett.
SEBENS, Henry, age 68, 8276 Carl Rd., Everson, passed away in a Bellingham hospital on Mon. Aug. 9, 1982. Born in Conrad, Montana, Mr. Sebens was a retired heavy equipment operator for Whatcom Skagit Crane and was a member of the Operating Engineers Union No. 302. During WWII he served with the U.S. Navy Seabees and was married to Mary Straka in Sumas on Aug. 5, 1947. He is survived by his wife Mary; a son, Michael at home; 2 daughters, Cathy Gobble of Seattle and Mrs. Julie & husband David Arnett of Everson; 2 grandchildren; 5 brothers, Clarence of Camano Island, John & Marion of Lynden, Pete of Ferndale and Ed in Grandview; 2 sisters, Mrs. Dorothy (Jake) Starkenburg of Lynden and Mrs. Betty (Dave) VanDyk of Grandview; a brother-in-law, Mr. Dick Slotemaker of Everett; a sister-in-law, Mrs. Rena (Alger) Sebens of Oak Harbor and numerous nieces & nephews. Funeral services will be conducted on Thurs. Aug. 12 at 1 p.m. in the Nooksack Valley Baptist Church with Rev. John Ruhlman officiating. Burial will follow in Greenacres Memorial Park. SEBENS, John - Visitation for John Sebens of Lynden will be from 1 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Gillies Funeral Home. Mr. Sebens died Tuesday, June 24, 1997, at St. Joseph Hospital. He was 81. Born Aug. 31, 1915, to Thomas and Julia Crapp Sebens in Conrad, Mont., he moved to Zillah and then to Lynden in 1924. He married Carrie Koster on Sept. 8, 1937, in Lynden. Mr. Sebens owned and operated Dutch Maid Bakery in Lynden and was janitor at Lynden Middle School until his retirement. He was a member and former deacon of Second Christian Reformed Church and enjoyed coin collecting, fishing and camping. He was preceded in death by one sister and five brothers. Survivors include his wife of the family home; daughters Corajean Buma of Marysville, Kathleen Buss of Everett, Arleen Hollander and Esther Templin, both of Lynden, and Karen Boon of Sumas; brothers Ed Sebens of Grandview and Marion Sebens of Lynden; sisters Dorothy Starkenburg of Lynden and Betty VanDyke of Grandview; 13 grandchildren; and numerous other relatives.
SEBENS, Julia, age 72, a longtime resident of the Lynden-Everson community, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 22, (1960) at the Sunnyside Memorial Hospital in Sunnyside, Wash. She made her home at 619 E. 3rd St. in Grandview, Wash. Born in Paterson, N.J., and at an early age she moved to Montana where she lived for many years. She and her husband later moved to Zillah, Wash., before moving to Lynden where they lived for 30 years. They had resided in Grandview for the past seven years. She was a longtime member of the Christian Reformed Church. Survived by her husband, Thomas Sebens of Grandview; three daughters, Mrs. Dick Slotemaker of Everson, Mrs. Jake Starkenburg of Lynden, Mrs. Dave VanDyke of Grandview; seven sons, Henry Sebens of Mt. Vernon, John Sebens of Lynden, Pete Sebens of Sumas, Alger Sebens of Everson, Ed Sebens of Stateline, Calif., Marion Sebens of Lynden; one son the late Franklin Sebens who was killed during World War II; two sister, 37 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held in the Christian Reformed Church in Everson, Monday, Nov. 28, at 2 p.m. with Rev. Jack Mathias officiating. Burial will follow in the Monumenta Cemetery in Lynden. SEBENS, Peter S. - A memorial service for Peter S. Sebens, age 71, of Ferndale, was held on Tuesday, Nov. 22, 1988, at Bellingham Christian Reformed Church, at 2 p.m. with Rev. Robert Koornneef officiating. Mr. Sebens passed away at a Bellingham Hospital on Friday, Nov. 18, (1988). Private family interment preceded the memorial service at Monumenta Cemetery. Mr. Sebens was born on August 13, 1917, in Conrad, Mont., the son of Thomas and Julia Sebens. He lived in the Lynden and Sumas areas for several years before moving to Ferndale. He worked for Operating Engineers Local #302 and for the Volunteer Sumas Fire Department for 29 years. He was a handy man who loved fixing and selling lawnmowers. He was married to Aletta Steenmeyer on August 30, 1940, at Second Christian Reformed Church in Lynden. Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Aletta, of the family home; two sons, David and wife, Mindy and Tim and wife Lois, all of Moscow, Idaho; three daughters, Judy Stebbins and have of Minnesota, Shirley Manley, and husband Dick of Burlington and Phyllis Olney of Bellingham; four brothers, Clarence of Camano Island, John and Marion of Lynden, and Ed of Grandview; two sisters, Dorothy Starkenburg of Lynden and Betty VanDyke of Grandview; 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Tom Sebens, brothers Henry, Alger and Frank, and a sister, Ann Slotemaker. Services were under the care of Gillies Funeral Home of Lynden.

SEBRING, Sara-Christina Elizabeth, two months old, died of sudden infant death syndrome Tuesday at a Seattle hospital. She was born June 29, in Seattle. She was the daughter of Bill and Jane Sebring, 618 Willow Court South. Surviving in addition to her parents are her paternal grandparents, Loren and Mary Pat Sebring of Lake Stevens; her maternal grandmother, Mary Lyons of Bellingham; and her great-grandmother, Sarah "Sally" Munn of Tacoma. Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at First Covenant Church of Bellingham, with Pastor Willis Adell officiating. The body was cremated and ashes place at Bay View Cemetery.

SECKEL, Harris Jacob - Former Bellingham resident Harris Jacob Seckel, 85, of Federal Way, died Friday in an Auburn nursing home. He was a member of the Boilermaker's Union and worked for Reid Boiler Works. Survivors include two sons, Harris J. Seckel, Jr., of Federal Way, and Ronald L. Seckel of Battle Creek, Mich.; a sister, Madeleine Seckel of Detroit, Mich.; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. SECKEL, Ronald L. - A graveside service for Ronald L. Seckel, formerly of Whatcom County, will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Woodlawn Cemetery. Mr. Seckel died of cancer on Wednesday, Aug. 12, 1998, in Bellevue. He was 62. Born April 28, 1936 in Wayne County, Mich., he married Wilma J. Harris on Nov. 21, 1964 in Bellingham. He served in the U.S. Air Force and graduated from Western Washington University and City University. Mr. Seckel retired from Trans American Insurance Co. in 1991 after 25 years of service and received many awards for his work. He served as a Boy Scout leader and was a member of the Grange, Rotary, Chamber of Commerce and Junior Achievement. Survivors include his wife of Kent; sons Kurtis Seckel of Kent and Kevin Seckel of Michigan; daughters Kimberly Slater of Michigan and Kathleen Seckel of Kent; and brother Harris Seckel of Federal Way. SEDGWICK, Helen Morris, a resident of the Mt. Baker Apts., passed away in a local hospital Sunday, Jan. 6, (1952). Miss Sedgwick had been a resident of this community since 1903; was a retired school teacher who had taunt in the Sehome school, Whatcom High school, and Fairhaven High school where she was the adviser of the former "Fairhaven Record." Miss Sedgwick had been very active in Red Cross work for may years and was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church and the Monday Club. Surviving are one step-brother, Fred B. Williams, of Springfield, Mo., and several cousins. Services will be conducted from St. Paul's Episcopal Church by Father W. Robert Webb Tuesday, Jan. 8, at 4:00 p.m., under the direction of the funeral home of Harlow-Hollingsworth, followed by cremation.

SEEGER, Emily - A memorial service for Emily Hjaltalin Seeger, former of Bellingham, will take place today in Hermiston, Ore. Her ashes will be placed in Skyline Memorial Gardens in Portland. Mrs. Seeger died Tuesday, July 15, 1997, at Good Samaritan Center in Hermiston. She was 91. Born Jan. 28, 1906, to Hjortur and Elin Sigurdson Hjaltalin in Mountain, N.D., she moved to Bellingham in 1918. She graduated from Bellingham Normal School, now Western Washington University, and taught school in Marblemount. She married M. Deane Seeger in 1929. Mrs. Seeger moved to Eugene, Ore., in 1945, and then to cities in California and to Washington, D.C., before retiring in King City, Ore. She was preceded in death by her husband; brothers Sigurd, Ellert and Theodore; sisters Marine, Gertrude and Christine; and one grandchild. Survivors include sons Deane Seeger and Hartley Seeger; six grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. Arrangements are by Burns Mortuary in Hermiston.

Born Feb. 9, 1905 to Floyd and Minnie Seeger in Brainerd, Minn., she graduated from St. Mary's Hall Episcopal School in Fairbault, Minn., and Rochester Junior College in Rochester, Minn. Miss Seeger moved to Whatcom County in 1934 where she worked as an assistant for Dr. Earl Cilley for 30 years. She then worked in the admissions office at Western Washington University until she retired. Miss Seeger was a past member of Soroptomist Club, including past president of the Bellingham chapter; a past member of Washington Health Services; and an active member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church. She was preceded by her brother, Deane Seeger Sr., in 1984. Survivors include nephews Deane Seeger II of Irrigon, Ore., and Hartley Seeger of Eagle Point, Ore.; niece Mary Lorimer of Woodland, Ore; and sister-in-law Emily H. Seeger of King City, Ore. Deane, a former Bellingham reporter and City Council member who became a top official of the National League of cities, died Sunday (April 15, 1984) in King City, Ore. He was 75. He was born Dec. 25, 1908, in Brainerd, Minn. As a young man he worked as a reporter for the former Bellingham Evening News. At 26 he was elected to the Bellingham City Council, and later - in the late 1930s - served as city comptroller. During World War II, he was business manager for the Boeing branch plant in Bellingham. In 1945, he moved to Oregon, becoming Eugene's first city manager. He then became acting director of the League of Oregon Cities, and served as associate director of what is now the National League of Cities in Washington, D.C. He had been city manager of Culver City, Calif., and executive director of the Lake Tahoe Area Council. He became city manager of Lake Oswego, Ore., just outside of Portland, in 1964, and retired from that position in 1973 after the first of a series of strokes. After retiring, he was a writer for the International city Managers Association, and traveled throughout the Northwest and the United States as a city government specialist. He also was past president of the Eugene Chamber of Commerce and had bee president of the Bellingham Jaycees. He was a former vice president of the Association of Washington Cities. He belonged to Rotary, the Masons, the Shriners and the League of California Cities. He is survived by his wife Emily, at King City, two son, six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in the Lake Oswego Congregational Church.
SEEGER, William M., age 80, of 3017 Coolidge Drive, passed away at his home Thursday, Nov. 25, (1954). Mr. Seeger had been a resident of this community for 50 years and was a life member and one of the oldest past masters of Bellingham Bay Lodge No. 44, F & AM; a member of the Scottish Rite Bodies and Knight Commander, Court of Honor; a life member of Bellingham Chapter Royal Arch Masons; honorary life member of the King Solomon Lodge No. 17 F & AM of New Westminster, B.C., and the oldest patron of Sehome Chapter No. 17, O.E.S. He is survived by one son, Merwin W. Seeger, of Bellingham; one daughter, Mrs. Dorothy Jane Payne, of Anacortes; two grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one brother, J. H. Seeger, of Anandale, Minnesota; one sister, Mrs. Nellie Fernald, of St. Paul, Minn.; numerous nieces and nephews. The re[amins are at]Harlow-Hollingsworth where services will be conducted by Dr. W. Carl Calhoun and officers of the Rose Croix of the Scottish Rite Bodies Wednesday, Dec. 1, at 1:30 p.m. Graveside services will be conducted by the officers of Bellingham Bay Lodge No. 44, F. & A.M., at Bay View Cemetery.
SEEKAMP, William - A mass for William Seekamp, 18, of 1123 23rd St. will be celebrated at 7 p.m. today at Assumption Church. Funeral services were at 11 a.m. today at Jerns & LeVeck Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. Paul Slater officiating. Burial was in Bayview Cemetery. Mr. Seekamp, born July 25, 1970, in Winona, Minn., died Friday (Feb. 17, 1989) in Bellingham. A local resident since 1987, he moved to Washington state from Minnesota in 1984. He lived in Oak Harbor from 1984 to 1986 and in Clipper, Wash., from 1986 to 1987. He had attended Mount Baker High School in Deming. Survivors include his mother, Diane Kulas of Ferndale; his father, Leonard Seekamp of Oak Harbor; one brother, Scott Seekamp of Oak Harbor; and his maternal grandparents, Arnold and Wilma Meyer of Caledonia, Minn. Arrangements were by Jerns & LeVeck Funeral Chapel and Crematorium.
SEEKINS, John F. "Johnny" age 45 of Ferndale, passed away Friday June 3, 1994 at St. Joseph Hospital. Mr. Seekins was born June 28, 1948 in Jamestown, New York to Louis V. and Kathleeen (Campbell) Seekins. He had been a Ferndale resident for 20 years. John worked at Vangard Northwest in Ferndale. He had a wonderful sense of humor and everyone liked him. He is survived by his parents of Des Moines, 2 sisters Kate O'Brien of Tuckwila and Verna Harris of Odenville, AL. A funeral service was held Sunday, June 5, 1994 at Moles Funeral Home Chapel at 8:00 p.m. Arrangements by Moles Funeral Home in Ferndale.
SEELING, Fred C., age 76, of 2315 Williams St., passed away in a Bellingham Nursing Home Monday, Jan. 22, (1962). Mr. Seeling had been a resident of Blaine for many years and had been employed by the Alaska Packers Assn. and the U.S. Customs. Survivors include one brother, Harry of Vancouver, Wash. Funeral services will be conducted Friday, Jan. 26, at 2 p.m. in the McKinney Funeral Home. Concluding services and interment in the Blaine Cemetery.
SEELYE, Alfa, age 53 years, passed away at her home at Kendall, Tuesday morning, March 27, (1945). She had been a resident of this county most of her life and leaves to survive her husband, Frank; four sons, Thomas C., of Blaine, Clarence V., of Baker View Road, Roy P., of Kendall and Ernest M., with the U.S. marines; two daughters, Mrs. Violet Watson, of Deming, and Mrs. Gladys Riggle, of Bellingham; seven grandchildren; three brothers, William Corcoran, of Ferndale, John and Clifford, of Beach; six sisters, Mrs. Laura Kuhns, of Bellingham, Mrs. Anna Brown, of Maple Falls, Mrs. Margaret Noble, of Portland, Mrs. Catherine Smith, Mrs. Helen Hoffman and Mrs. Hattie Tuttle, all of Beach, Lummi Island, and her mother, Mrs. Elizabeth Corcoran, also of Beach. Funeral services will be conducted from the Monroe Funeral Chapel in Ferndale, Friday, March 30, at 1:30 p.m. Interment in Woodlawn Cemetery.
SEELYE, Clarence V., age 66, of 2415 Utter St., B'ham. passed away Friday July 1, (1977). Mr. Seelye was a lifetime resident of Whatcom County, a member of Garden St. Methodist Church in B'ham. & the Carpenters & Joiners Local No. 756. He is survived by: his wife, Mable, 1 son, Marvin of Oak Harbor, 1 daughter, Georgia Turner of Isfahan, Iran. His stepmother, Grace Seelye of B'ham. A brother, Ernest of Manchester. SEELYE, Connie M. of Bellingham died Monday, Dec. 12, 1994, at Shuksan Convalescent Center. She was 78. There will be a private family service. Born Nov. 1, 1916, to Henrietta and Joseph Haan in Lynden, she lived in Whatcom County all her life. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald A. Seelye. Survivors include son Lynn M. Seelye of Great Falls, Mont.; daughters Joey Caughlin of Camano Island, Cheri D. Farley of Seattle and Mary A. Leal of Santa Barbara, Calif.; 10 grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter. SEELYE, Donald A., 73, of Des Moines, died Saturday, Sept. 8, 1990 after a long illness. He was born Sept. 1, 1917 on Lummi Island. He was raised in Lynden and graduated from Lynden High School. He attended Washington State University. He worked as a field supervisor for Washington State Employment Security Department for 40-plus years and retired at the age of 55. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Connie M. (Haan) Seelye; daughters Cheri D. Farley of Seattle, Mary Ann Leal of Santa Barbara, Calif. and Lynn McVeigh Seelye of Great Falls, Mont.; son (sic) Joey Couglin of Stanwood; brother of Jean Hunt of Anchorage, Alaska; and 10 grandchildren. Services were held Monday at Bonney-Watson Washington Memorial, 16445 Pacific Highway South, Seattle.

SEELYE, Fred V., age 89 of 209 15th St., Lynden passed away in a Lynden nursing home Wed., Dec. 1, 1982. A life time county resident, Mr. Seelye was born in the Greenwood area and was the son of Lynden pioneer residents Lyman and Lorinda Seelye. Mr. Seelye had been employed by the City of Lynden for more than 30 years and was a member of the Lynden United Methodist Church and Clam Diggers Association. He was married to Marian Flower in Bellingham on July 27, 1915. He is survived by his wife Marian; 2 sons Verne of Seattle and Don and wife Cleone of Bellingham; a daughter Mrs. Jean and husband Kenneth Hunt of Klamath Falls, Ore.; 15 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Sophie Bridge of Bellingham; numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted on Sat., Dec. 4 at 2 p.m. in the Lynden United Methodist Church with Rev. Thomas Carlson officiating. Private interment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery on Monday, Dec. 6. Services are under the direction of Gillies Funeral Home, Lynden.

She cooked at the Bellingham Hotel for many years and was preceded in death by her husband Frank Seelye in 1958. She was an avid home gardener. SEELYE, Marian R., 91, of 209 15th St., Lynden, died Wednesday (Nov. 2, 1988) in a Lynden nursing home. Mrs. Seelye was born April 23, 1897 in Tifton, GA. She married Fred Seelye on July 27, 1915 in Bellingham, where they lived for most of their lives. Mrs. Seelye graduated from Lynden High School in 1915, was a member of Lynden United Methodist Church and was active in the United Methodist Society. She was a Camp Fire and Bluebird leader for many years, while also participating in the American Legion Auxiliary in Lynden and at the Lynden Senior Activity Center. Survivors include a son Donald of Des Moines, Wash.; a daughter Jean Hunt of Klamath Falls, Ore.; 15 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1982 and a son Vern in 1986. Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Lynden United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Fred Rarden officiating. Visitation will be from 5-9 p.m. today and 9 a.m.-noon Friday at Gillies Funeral Home. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.

SEELYE, Verne A. of Seattle, formerly of Lynden died of cancer in Seattle on August 7, 1986. Mr. Seelye was born in Lynden on March 23, 1916. He was a graduate of Lynden High School. He is survived by a daughter, Alice Galyan; two sons, Allen and Andrew; his mother, Marion F. Seelye of Lynden; a brother, Don of Bellingham; a sister, Jean Hunt of Manassa, Virginia. He was preceded in death by his father, Fred Seelye, in 1982. Services were conducted August 9 in Seattle.

SEEMULLER, Christian, age 95, of Ferndale, Route 1, passed away in Bellingham Tuesday, January 22, (1946). He had been a resident of Whatcom County for the past 62 years. Survivors are one sister, Mrs. Ernest Massner, in Brazil; three nephews, Emil Massner, in Tacoma, and two in Brazil; two nieces, one in Brazil and one in Germany; one grand-nephew and five grand-nieces. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, January 25, in the Knapp and Knapp funeral home in Lynden, Rev. H. L. Richardson officiating. Interment in Woodlawn Cemetery.
