PARLOVA, Clyde, of Salem, Oregon, died Wednesday, (Oct. 3, 1984). He was a surgeon who worked in Bellingham from 1968 to 1974. He is survived by his wife, Lois; one son; one daughter; three brothers; one sister and two grandchildren. Services will be at Peace Lutheran Church on Saturday at 2 p.m. in West Salem. Arrangements are by Barrick's Funeral Home in Salem.PARMELEE, Grace E., of San Dimas, (CA) died in a local (San Dimas) convalescent hospital Tuesday, April 21, 1987. Mrs. Parmelee was born in Greenwood, WI Feb. 2, 1902. She lived in Seattle & Bellingham from 1944 until retirement. She then moved to San Dimas in 1969 after she retired from her job with the state of Washington. She was a past worthy matron and 50-year member of Order of the Eastern star in Valier and a past secretary and member of the organization's San Dimas chapter. Mrs. Parmelee was also a 50-year member of the Rebekah Lodge and American Legion Auxiliary in Valier. She was a member of the San Dimas Community Church and a past secretary of the Women's Guild. She leaves 2 sons, Clyde of Bellingham & Harry of Delroy Beach, Florida; a daughter, Shirley of San Dimas; a brother, Leon of Hamilton, Montana; a sister Mabel Johnson of San Dimas; 3 grandchildren & 2 great-grandchildren. Services will be held at San Dimas Community Church, Friday at 2 p.m.
PARNELL, Margaret A., age 51 of 1800 Alabama St., Bellingham, passed away Nov. 9, 1993. Mrs. Parnell was born May 11, 1942 in Ringold, Georgia to Herman Lee and Viola F. Harden. Survivors are her husband, Jim Parnell, of Bellingham; two sons, Robert D. Parnell of Spokane, WA and Michael A. Parnell of Lynnwood, WA; a brother, Ronald Harden of Tenn.; two sisters, Beatrice Haleges of Tenn. and Doris Biddle of GA; four grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held 2:30 p.m. Friday, November 12, 1993 in the Jerns LeVeck Funeral Chapel. The arrangements are under the direction of the Jerns LeVeck Funeral Chapel and crematorium of Bellingham.
PARR, Catherine A., age 92 who resided at 2615 Hampton Place passed away in a local hospital on Monday, Oct. 1, (1962). Mrs. Parr was a pioneer of Whatcom County having resided in this area for the past 75 years. She leaves to survive two daughters Mrs. Gertrude Ragan and Mrs. Gladys Ragan and one son Roy E. Parr all residing in Seattle. Her grandson Douglas J. Parr of Bellingham. One brother Fred Arthur and one sister Mrs. William Creech both of Ladner, B.C. and another sister Mrs. Angus McPhail of Vancouver, B.C. Rev. Donald Lamka, pastor of the Congregational Church, will conduct funeral services Thursday, Oct. 4, at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of the Bingham & Jerns Funeral Home. Interment Greenacres.
PARR, Dori Melinda, age 25, of Ferndale, passed away Monday, June 3, 2002, at the UW Medical Center in Seattle. Born August 23, 1976 in Bellingham, and was a graduate of Ferndale High School. Dori loved people & had a big smile for everyone. She loved to cook, travel and especially loved the Mariners. She worked for Security Specialists, Mt. Baker Lanes, & Operation Santa Claus. Parr, 80, died Wednesday (March 4, 1959) night at a local hospital. Mr. Parr operated the Clear Lake Mercantile Co. from 1903 to 1926 when he moved to Oregon. He then operated a store in Ferndale from 1949 to 1955 when he retired to Oak Harbor where he lived until his death. Survivors include the wife, Ruby; two sons, Duncan of Ferndale and Julius Parr of Burbank, Calif.; two sisters, Mrs. Sam Burnett of Edison and Mrs. Meda Arnold of Clear Lake. The Rev. John Oosterhoff will conduct services at 2 p.m. Saturday at Kern Funeral Home here. Cremation at Greenacres Memorial Park, North Bellingham, will follow.
PARR, Martha M., age 80, of 1132 Toledo St., passed away Sat. March 27th, (1976). She was a member of Crown Chapter OES of Bremerton. Surviving are her husband Roy at home, two sons, Norman and Arthur both of Seattle. A sister Juanita Carlson of Everett. Two brothers, Thomas Fiander of Vancouver, B.C. and Norman Fiander of Naniamo, B.C., also 6 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held in Veroske's Bellingham Chapel, Wed. PARR, Michael Julian, age 52, of Ferndale, passed away at his home Friday, February 7, 2003. Mike was born April 18, 1950 in Tacoma to Duncan and Frances L. (Vigness) Parr. He has been a Whatcom County resident for 49 years. Mike worked in Bingo and managed various games in the county. He also had been a field manager for Simplot Foods. Mike loved people and having coffee with his friends. He was preceded in death by his father Duncan Parr and his daughter Dori Parr. Survivors include his wife Darlene, mother Frances Parr, brother Donald Loftus, sons Michael Parr and wife Staci, Ricky Mehler, Michael Mehler and wife Pam, daughter Sheri and husband James Folsom, five grandsons, and 1 granddaughter. PARR, Roy Elmo - A funeral for Roy Elmo Parr of Bellingham will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Moles Funeral Home in Ferndale with Rex Watt officiating. Burial will follow at Enterprise Cemetery. Mr. Parr died Saturday, Dec. 11, 1993, at Bellingham Care Center. He was 100. Born April 11, 1893, to Richard and Catherine Arthur Parr in Custer, he was a member of Old Settlers of Whatcom County. He married Martha May Fiander in 1917. Mr. Parr was a machinist at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard in Bremerton for 30 years, retiring after 1950 with a medical disability. He then moved to Seattle for four years before moving to Birch Bay. He built three cabins just north of Bay Center in the 30's and rented them for 40 years. An avid gardener, he also loved to sing. Mr. Parr and his wife traveled widely in England, Belgium and Australia. She died in 1976. Survivors include sons Arthur R. Parr and Norman Parr, both of Seattle; sister Gladys Hannawalt of Ohio; granddaughter Bridget Brown-Towner of Ferndale; five other grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.
PARR, Thelma M. - Graveside services for Thelma M. "Sally" Parr, 75, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Saxon Cemetery, with the Rev. Cynthia Bauleke officiating. Bauleke also will officiate at a 2 p.m. memorial service at Moles Funeral Home Chapel. Mrs. Parr, of 1132 Toledo St., died Monday (Dec. 11, 1989) at St. Joseph Hospital Main Campus after a long respiratory illness. She was born July 1, 1914, in Edgerton, Ohio. She moved to Whatcom County in 1951 from Indiana, where she lived for several years with her first husband, Charles Seigman, Sr., and their children. She belonged to the Ferndale Senior Center, and the Ferndale Rebekahs, a women's lodge affiliated with Oddfellows Lodge. A country and western music fan, she was a member of the Washington Old Time Fiddlers Association. She also enjoyed collecting rocks and belonged to the Mount Baker Rock Club. Her first husband Charles Seigman Sr. died in 1972. She met and married Roy E. Parr in 1979. She was also preceded in death by 2 brothers and 1 sister. She is survived by her husband Roy E. Parr of the family home; sons Charles "Bob" Seigman and wife Shirley, and Richard "Dick" Seigman and wife Cora, all of Ferndale; daughters Jean Elsbree and husband Clifton of Mansfield, WA; Marjorie VanBeen and husband Gerrit of Bellingham; stepsons Norman Parr and wife Fran; Art Parr and wife Evelyn, all of Seattle; 25 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; a sister Iretta "Peg" Alspaugh of Michigan; numerous nieces and nephews. She was born to Clarence and Evelyn (Tomlin) Willis on April 10, 1933 in Seattle. Caroll married James Parris on Nov. 7, 1958 in Bellingham and has been a resident of Bellingham most of her life. She enjoyed bowling, fishing, camping and visiting her grandchildren. Caroll is survived by her husband, James of the family home; children: Linda & Allan Teshera of Ferndale, Steve & Cindy Parris of Bellingham, Vicki & Larry Webster of Seabeck, WA, Penny & Vern Woods of Marysville, Sherry & Ken Cadman of Bellingham, Sharon & Scott Smith of Mt. PARRIS, Cyrus M. - A former Bellingham man, Cyrus M. Parris, 90, died Saturday (Aug. 24, 1974) at Kings Gardens, Seattle. A resident of Bellingham for more than 50 years, he was an installer and repairman for the Bell Telephone Co. He was a member of Bellingham First Presbyterian Church; Whatcom Lodge 151, F&AM; Maple Leaf Chapter 58, Order of Eastern Star; the Gideon Society and the Telephone Pioneers. Surviving are two sons, Dr. Douglass M. Parris and Col. Frank H. Parris, both of Seattle, six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Greenlake Funeral Home, Seattle, and burial will be at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at Greenacres Cemetery, North Bellingham.

A Bellingham resident for the past 23 years, she was a member of Victory Baptist Church and survived by 3 sons, Luke H. and wife Joe Lee, Mack and wife Marge Stickland (sic), all of Calif., Bill and wife Donna Strickland (sic) of Texas; 2 daughters, Kay Pope of Calif., Betty and husband Tom Willert of city; 5 step-sons, Barney Parris of Nw Mexico, Gene and wife Gladys Parris of Missouri, Ray and wife Nita Parris, Jerry and wife Grace Parris and Bill Parris, all of Calif. Grannie is going to be missed by 25 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. Grannie was preceded in death by 3 small babies; her first husband of only 2 years; her second husband of 15 years; and her third husband of 23 years. She was a housewife and homemaker all her life. She had joy in her heart no matter what the outward circumstances were because she put Jesus first, others second, and her self third. PARRISH, Andris E. of Lynden died Sunday, March 19, 1995, at St. Joseph Hospital. She was 84. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to noon Monday at Gillies Funeral Home in Lynden. Graveside service will follow at 2 p.m. in Greenacres Memorial Park with the Rev. Earl Crouse officiating. Born April 6, 1910 to Moses and Maude (May) Hall in Humboldt, Neb., she married Charles E. "Gene" Parrish on Dec. 15, 1926. They moved to Cle Elum in 1935 and moved to Whatcom County in 1942. They lived in the Ten Mile area and Ferndale, and began spending winters in Quartzsite, Ariz., in 1963, a practice she continued until recently when she became a resident of Christian Rest Home in Lynden. Mrs. Parrish worked for many years at Kale Canning in Everson and later at Kelly-Farquar in Ferndale. She was a member of Ten Mile Grange and Laurel VFW Auxiliary. She enjoyed square dancing, helping to organize many of the early dances in the county and in Arizona. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents and a younger sister. Survivors include daughters Elsie Wood of Lynden, Carrol Tyas of Bremerton and Sharon Lenz of Yelm; sons Kalen Parrish of Sedro-Woolley and Gene "Roy" Parrish of Albany, Ore.; 15 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives.

Mr. Parrish had resided in Bellingham for the past 16 years, and formerly had lived in Blaine and Sumas. He had owned an operated the Sumas Auto Freight for a number of years. He was a member of the Fidelity Lodge No. 105, A. & A.N., of Sumas, the Scottish Rite Bodies, the Nile Temple of the Shrine, and the Rising Star Lodge No. 79, I.O.O.F. Surviving relatives include his wife, Mrs. Jennie Parish, at the family home; a son, Dr. Glen E. Parrish, of Spokane; a sister, Mrs. C. M. Brown, of Everett; and several nieces and nephews. The remains rest at the funeral home of Harlow-Hollingsworth where services will be conducted by the Rev. Clarence J. Forsberg and officers of the Rose Croix of the Scottish Rite Bodies, Thursday, Novembe 12, at 1 p.m. Graveside ritualistic services will be conducted at the Blaine Cemetery by the Fidelity Lodge No. 105, F. & A.M.
PARRISH, Dorothy, age 71, passed away Fri., April 25, 1980 in a local nursing home. She was a Pioneer Member of St. Paul's Church in Seattle. Was also a member of St. Alphonsus Church and altar society in Ballard. She is survived by 1 son, Karl B. Parrish, Bellingham. 1 sister,, Mrs. Chester Rickard of Montana. PARRISH, Edna G., 80, pioneer resident of Custer, passed away in a Bellingham Hospital, Tuesday, March 13, (1973). Born in Custer, January 22, 1893, Mrs. Parrish had spent her entire life in that area. She was united in marriage to Verne Parrish in Sedro Woolley in 1916. Periodically over the past few years, Mr. and Mrs. Parrish had made their home near their son at Lake Quinault. Surviving are her husband, Verne at te family home. 1 son; Wayne Parrish of Lake Quinault. 1 brother; Elmer Behme of Custer, and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held in Veroske's McKinney Funeral Home in Blaine on March 15 at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Marvin Jordan officiating. Burial followed in the Enterprise Cemetery.
PARRISH, Edwin Earl - Graveside services for Edwin Earl Parrish, infant son of Mr. and Mrs. K. B. Parrish of Clear Lake, will be conducted at 3 p.m. Thursday in Greenacres Memorial Park, North Bellingham, under direction of Lemley Funeral Home. The seven-week-old boy died suddenly Saturday (Aug. 13, 1960) at home. Besides the parents, he is survived by his grandparents, Charles E. Parrish of Ferndale and Mr. and Mrs. Carl Anderson in Costa Rica.
PARRISH, Glen E., Dr., age 74 of 212 Garfield, Sumas, died Sat. Feb. 21, 1981. Dr. Parrish graduated from Blaine High School, North Pacific College of dentistry in Portland, Oregon and the Northwestern University in Oral Surgery, practicing dentistry in Sumas, Blaine & Spokane for 26 years. He was past president of Spokane District dental Society; member of Trowel Fraternity; past master of Sumas Lodge No. 104 F & AM; member of Scottish Rite Bodies and El Katif Shrine, Spokane. He is survived by his wife Marcella; 1 ocusin Italka Theno of Davis, Calif.; 2 nieces, Mary Ann Theno of Arbuckle, Calif. and Margaret Theno of Boulder, Colorado. PARRISH, Marcella Emily. - Memorial services for Marcella Emily Parrish, 89, of Sumas will be at 2 p.m. in Sunday, Jan. 27, at the Advent Christian Church in Sumas. The Rev. Earl Crouse will officiate. Mrs. Parrish died Monday (Jan. 21, 1991) in Bellingham. She was born to John and Emily Uebler on Jan. 8, 1908, in Seattle. She had been a Sumas resident since 1962. PARRISH, Naomi A., daughter of the pioneer J. W. Dorr family, passed away March 4, (1976) in Blaine. Mrs. Parrish was born in Blaine in 1899 and was graduated from Blaine High school in 1917; She was the youngest of 11 children, all have preceded her in death. Survivors include tow daughters, LaVern Parrish of Seattle, Doris Street of Bothell, and numerous other relatives.

PARRISH, Wayne L., 69 tears, 8393 Semiahmoo Drive, Blaine, passed away at St. Joseph's Hospital in Bellingham Thursday, Dec. 26, 1991. He was born Oct. 7, 1922 in Custer, WA to Edna (Behme) and Verne Parrish. After graduating from Custer Schools, he served in the U.S. Navy in World War II with continuous duty in the South Pacific. He graduated from Washington State University with a degree in Culinary and Hotel Management. He was with the Stouffer Restaurants in Chicago, Cleveland and Pittsburg. He returned to Washington with the Manning Cafeteria in Seattle before going into business for himself at the Home Cafe in Blaine. Then he owned and operated the Jordan's Top Hat in Pasco, Waynels in Kenmore, and the Lake Quinault Lodge in Quinault, WA. Since retirement from the field of hospitality in 1976 he has occupied himself with other business activities. He was a member of the Custer Methodist Church, Kulshan Lodge #186 A&FM of Blaine, Washington State Restaurant & Hotel Association and A.A.R.P. He is survived by cousins Claude Behme, (Bud) Hugh Behme, Moris Tarte of Bellingham, Donald Jones of Marysville, Beverly Smilavich of Seattle, Barbara Bishop of Bellevue, Allene Lippert of Vancouver, WA. Funeral Services will be held Monday, Dec. 30, 11:00 a.m. at the Moles Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Michele Campton officiating. Burial will follow at Enterprise Cemetery. PARROTT, Edna G. of Lynden passed away at the Christian Rest Home in Lynden on Monday, Feb. 8, 1993 at the age of 102. Mrs. Parrott was born on June 20, 1890 in Winfield, Kan. a daughter of Frank and Mattie Nichols Gulick. She grew up in Kansas and graduated from Kansas State University with a teaching degree. She taught in Kansas and New Mexico for many and then moved to Whatcom County in 1925. She also taught Sunday School for many years, and was a member of the Nooksack Valley United Methodist Church in Nooksack. In Sumas on April 3, 1926 she was married to Thomas Parrott. He passed away in 1968. She is survived by three daughters, Louise Westergreen and husband Richard of Sumas, Myrth Irwin of Mesa, Ariz. and Grace Jonasson of Maple Valley; 13 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren. Besides her husband Thomas, she was preceded in death by a son, Gwinn, and two brothers. A memorial service will be held at Nooksack Valley United Methodist Church on Thursday at 2 p.m. with Rev. Mark Johnson officiating. Burial will precede in Greenacres Memorial Park at 1 p.m. Arrangements and cremation are under the care of Gillies Funeral Home of Lynden.

PARSONS, Alonzo M., of 928 11th St., Bellingham, passed away early Wednesday morning, June 16, (1976) at the Alderwood Convalescent center, following a lengthy illness against cancer. Mr. Parsons was born on Jan. 16, 1901 in West Virginia, coming to Skagit County as a small boy with his parents, the late Jack and Louise Parsons, pioneer of Belfast residents. Living most of his life in the Skagit Valley, he worked as a logger, farmer, miner, and retired in 1964 from Willis Rogers & Pearson Lumber Mill, where he was a member of the union. His marriage to Vera Lindstrom took place on Feb. 12, 1948 in Bellingham, she preceded him in death on June 6, 1965. He had moved to Bellingham 6 years ago where he had made his home with his friend, Mrs. Leona Mitchell who had cared for him during his final illness. Survivors include a step-daughter, Mrs. Dorothy Brickey of Portland; 2 step-sons, Donald Lindstrom of Reno, Nevada and Harold Lindstrom of Dallas, Oregon; sisters, Iva Luken of Aberdeen, Wa., Amy Birchfield of Wenatchee and Bessie Davis of Montana; brothers, Ed Parsons of Edmonds, Wa., and Miles Daniels of Everson, Wa.; also 6 step-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Memorial services for Mr. Parsons will be announced at a later date.

PARSONS, Claude A., age 75, who had resided at Stockton, Calif., passed away in that city Tuesday, Sept. 12, (1961), where services were held. He leaves to survive his sister, Mary E. Engberg, his half-brother, Phillip M. Taylor, also numerous nieces and nephews, all residing in Bellingham. PARSONS, Claude M., 2806 Utter St, died Saturday (Jan. 4, 1986) on his 74th birthday. He was born on Jan. 4, 1912, in Montana, and had been a local resident for 50 years. Mr. Parsons was owner of Parsons Auto Shop in Bellingham from 1966 to 1971. Before that, he was a fleet manager for Darigold for 18 years. He was a member of Machinists Local 239. Mr. Parsons joined the Merchant Marines at the age of 13, had been around the world by the age of 15, and had circled the globe three times by the age of 17. He married Harriett E. Amos in 1935 at the Church of the Assumption. Mr. Parsons was a member of the Church of the Assumption and Knights of Columbus Council 829. He loved watching boxing and taught all of his six sons professional boxing. Survivors include his wife; five sons, including Wilbert of Ferndale and Vince of Bellingham; 20 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son Richard in 1965. Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Jerns & LeVeck Funeral Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be said at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Church of the Assumption, the Rev. Paul Dalton officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.

She had a passion for music and the piano, painting, drawing, and writing plays and making the costumes. To her credit, she received numerous Civil Service Awards from the Veterans, Army Division. PARTLOW, Douglas Raymond - Former Bellingham resident Douglas Raymond Partlow, 47, of Kalispell, Mont., died Thursday in a Kalispell hospital following a heart attack. Private family graveside services will be held at Woodlawn Cemetery. Mr. Partlow was born April 29, 1942, in Bellingham. He left Bellingham when he was 17 to join the U.S. Navy. He was a dairy farm worker, and lived in many different parts of the country in his lifetime. PARTLOW, Gerald A. - October 31, 1921 - November 18, 2007 -- Gerald A. Partlow, age 86 of Bellingham passed away on Sunday, November 18, 2007 in the presence of his family. He was born in Moorehead, Iowa to Edward and Alice (Weatherby) Partlow on October 31st, 1921. The family moved to Bellingham early in Gerald's life and he attended Larrabee Elementary School in Fairhaven. He graduated from Bellingham High School in 1939 and later attended Western Washington College/University. Gerald, (Known as "Jay" by his family) served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II and was stationed at Stockton Field, in Stockton, California, and in Calcutta, India as a Staff Sergeant. Gerald married Ruby May Crabtree on May 5, 1942 and they had 4 children. He worked for Puget Sound Power & Light (A.K.A Puget Sound Energy, where he was known as "Jerry") for 9 years as a lineman and 30 years as a foreman. He spent many long nights helping to restore electrical service to Puget Power's customers. Gerald built 3 houses, in his "spare" time and helped Ruby raise their family. His hobbies included bowling, fishing and golf. After retirement golf became his passion. Often, in winter's freezing temperatures, he would be out on the course in many layers of clothing and was referred to as the "Michelin Man" because of his padded shape. Gerald was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather who took his family fishing and camping, attended his grandchildren's birthday parties, graduations and weddings and doted on his great-grandchildren. We will all miss him greatly. Gerald was preceded in death by his loving wife, Ruby; brothers, Guy and Bruce Partlow; and his sister, Beverly Shogren. He is survived by his sons, Gerald L. Partlow, and wife Mary of Bellingham, Kenneth G. Partlow, and wife Jeannette of Lynden and Allen D. Partlow, and wife Colleen of Grants Pass, Oregon; his daughter, Karen Victor of Bellingham, WA; along with eleven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held on Monday, November 26, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at Northside Community Church, located at the corner of Hannegan & Kline Roads, 950 Kline Road.

He was born Sept. 21, 1895, in Minnesota and served in the U.S. Army in World War I. He also was a member of the Millmen's Union No. 338 in Seattle. PARTLOW, Ruby M. - A funeral service for Ruby M. (Crabtree) Partlow of Bellingham will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Greenacres Funeral Home near Ferndale, with the Rev. Ted Swineburne officiating. Born Jan. 5, 1922, to Allen and Ida (Goertz) Crabtree in St. Louis, she later moved to Bellingham and graduated from Bellingham High School in 1940. On May 5, 1942, she married Gerald Partlow in Mount Vernon. Her hobbies included knitting, crocheting and cooking. She enjoyed cross-country skiing, solving crossword puzzles and teaching Sunday school. She was preceded in death by her sister Lorene Heeringa and brother John Crabtree. Survivors include her husband, of the family home; sons Gerald L. Partlow of Bellingham, Kenneth G. Partlow of Lynden and Allen D. PARTRIDGE, Robert M., 73, 114 Grand Ave., died Tuesday in Bellingham. Mr. Patridge (sic) was born Oct. 27, 1914, in Washington. At his request no services will be held. Arrangements are by Jones Funeral Home.
PASCOE, James H., 89, 2515 Broadway, passed away Sunday. Survivors are the widow, May Ann, 1 sons, Clarence William, one daughter, Mrs. T. R. Asbahr, three grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, 1 sister, Mrs. Nancy Hodson. Services Wednesday, Oct. 27 at 9 a.m. at the Jones Funeral Home.
PASINSKI, Eugene John, known to friends and family as "Sketch", passed away peacefully on January 10th, 2002, at St. Joseph Hospital in Bellingham, WA. Sketch was born in Glassport, PA on July 21, 1926, to Polish Immigrant parents. He was the youngest of 12 children. He spent his youth in Glassport. While in high school, Sketch was well liked - eventually being elected class president. He would spend his days in school, go to work in a glass factory at night to help support his family, and take the trolley into the city on weekends to go dancing. In 1945, after graduating from high school, he joined the army and served in the infantry in Europe, Asia and Alaska. In 1946, he met Nadene Buchanan and they were married on October 12, 1946 in Sitka, Alaska. After his discharge from the army, Sketch and Nadene moved to Glassport where he worked as a carpenter for the New York Central Railway. They moved to Ferndale, WA in 1953 and Sketch was hired by Mobil Oil Refinery in 1955. He worked as an insulator, a pipe fitter, and as a maintenance supervisor. He was known for his dedication to his work and for his fairness to his men. He loved to have fun on the job and formed many close friendships with his fellow workers. Sketch retired in 1985 after serving for three years as a refinery pipe inspector for Mobil in Saudi Arabia. Sketch is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Nadene Pasinski son Eugene J. Pasinski Jr. of Roll, AZ daughters Leslie Drury and husband Charlie and Terri Melcher and husband Michael all of Ferndale grandson Eugene J. "Sketch" Pasinski III and wife Wendy granddaughter Morgan Pasinski all of Portland granddaughter Cutzi Jobes and husband Justin grandchildren Keenan, Cole and Cruz Melcher and Abbey and Gabe Drury, all of Ferndale, WA. He was preceded in death by his parents Ignatius and Agnes Kubiak Pasinski, by his eleven siblings and by daughter-in-law Leslie Montfort Pasinski. Sketch was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic church in Ferndale for 49 years. A vigil service and sharing time will be held 7:00 p.m., Monday, January 14, 2002 at Ferndale Moles Funeral Home. A funeral mass will be held 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, January 15th at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Ferndale, with interment to follow at Enterprise Cemetery. A luncheon will be served at St. Joseph's church hall. Arrangements were made by Ferndale Moles Funeral Home.

A resident of Bellingham since 1977, having moved from New York, he attended Sacred Heart Catholic Church and is survived by his wife Arlette, 1 son Felix Pasquis of Medicine Hat, Alberta, Canada, 2 daughters, Mrs. Collette Audant of Quebec City, Quebec & Mrs. Marie Fruzhinhold of Montreal, Canada, and 5 grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at a later date in Medicine Hat, Alberta. Local arrangements by Jones Funeral Home.
PASTRO, John, age 69 of Deming Star Route, passed away at his home Saturday, September 7, (1962) following an extended illness. Mr. Pastro had been a resident of this community for the past 47 years and was a retired farmer. He was a former associate of Joe Bertero in the Iowa Street Gardens. He is survived by his close friends friends, Mrs. Julia Carnevali, Deming Star Route; and A. Carnevali of Seattle. The remains will lie in state at the Westford Funeral Home until Tuesday morning followed by graveside services in Bayview Cemetery Tuesday, September 10 at 11:00 a.m. under the direction of the Westford Funeral Home.
