PARK, Charles H., age 73, of Van Zandt, Wash., passed away in a local hospital Sunday, March 17, (1946). Mr. Park had resided in this community for the past 61 years and was a retired official of the U.S. Forest Service, with 19 years in the Bellingham office as supervisor of the Mount Baker National Forest. Deceased was a member of the Rome Grange. Surviving relatives are three sons, Edwin G., of Kent, Clinton H. of Deer Island, Oregon, and Donald R., of Seattle; one daughter, Mrs. Marie V. Potter, of Van Zandt; sixteen grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren; one brother, E. W. Park, of Sumas and one sister, Mrs. Rose E. Smoot, of Bellingham. The remains are at the funeral home of Harlow-Hollingsworth where private services will be conducted Tuesday, March 19, at 1:30 p.m. Cremation.

PARK, Clinton Harrison, formerly of Bellingham, died Sunday, Nov. 20, 1994, at Sacred Heart Hospital in Spokane. He was 71. Born June 1, 1923, to Clinton Harrison and DeEtte Cox Park in Van Zandt, he served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. He worked in the Bellingham shipyards and for Foster and Kaiser Outside Advertising in Bellingham during the 1940s and '50s. He moved to the Royal Slope area of Othello in 1975 and then to Grand Coulee in 1990. Survivors include his wife, Audrey Park, of the family home in Grand Coulee; sons Wayne Park of Montesano and Marvin Park of Homer, Alaska; daughters Wanda Valentine of Othello and Virginia Sanders of Myrtle Creek, Ore.; brother Robert Park of Bellingham; sisters Florence McKay of Ferndale, Dorothy Hougan of Grand Coulee and June Barnett of Las Cruces, N.M.; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. A service was held in Grand Coulee.

PARK, Colin Cranston, 50 Burnaby, B.C., died Monday in Bellingham. Mr. Park was born March 6, 1936 in England. Funeral services will be in Burnaby, B.C. Local arrangements are by Jones Funeral Home.

PARK, DeEtte F. - Graveside service for DeEtte F. Park, age 81, of 1200 Birchwood Ave., will be Friday March 11 at 3 P.m. in Greenacres Memorial Park with Rev. Joseph E. Harris of Bethel Fellowship Church officiating. Interment Greenacres Memorial Park. Mrs. Park passed away Mon. March 7, 1983. PARK, Dorothy M., age 86, died at the Christian Health Care Center in Lynden on Saturday, Nov. 15, (2005). Visitation hours will be from 1 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 15, at Gillies Funeral Home in Lynden. Memorial funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, Nov. 16, 11 a.m. in the Nooksack Valley United Methodist Church, with Rev. Kathleen O'Connor officiating. Private burial will precede in Greenacres Memorial Park. The daughter of Dexter and Lucy (Switzer) Francisco, Dorothy was born near Ferndale on Feb. 22, 1919. She graduated from Lynden High School and was married to Alan Kale in 1941, and following his death in 1951, was married to Ray Park on October 14, 1961. A homemaker, Dorothy also worked in the Nooksack Post Office for many years. She was an accomplished seamstress and was a member of the Nooksack Valley United Methodist Church and the Order of Eastern Star Chapter in Lynden. Mrs. Park was also preceded in death by her son Larry Kale, daughter Linda Mendenhall, brothers Ralph and Ken Francisco and is survived by her husband Ray of Nooksack; granddaughter Natasha Ventor; and two great-grandsons; brother Garth Francisco of Lynden; stepsons Steve (Barbara) Park of Ferndale and Randy Park of Bellingham; stepdaughter Kim Park of Randle, WA; three step-grandchildren and numerous other relatives.

PARK, Edwin G. - Funeral services for Edwin G. Park, Kent, a former resident of Bellingham, will be conducted at 2 p.m.; Wednesday in the Community Chapel, Auburn. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery in Kent. He died Saturday (May 25, 1974) in Puyallup. Mr. Park, an Army veteran of World War I, was a hatcheryman for Westland Hatchery in Kent and had resided in Kent for the past 37 years. Mr. Park was born in Bellingham. Survivors include a son, Alan of Tacoma, Edwin G. Park Jr. of Los Gatos, Calif.; daughter, Mrs. James Smith of Auburn and Mrs. Glenn Glandon of Twisp; a brother, Donald of Seattle; a sister, Mrs. Marie Potter of Bellingham; 18 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. PARK, Elmer C. - Elmer C. (Chan) Park, 53, a veteran pipeman of the Bellingham fire department, was stricken fatally by a heart attach a few minutes after her reported for duty at the Maple street fire station Tuesday morning. Death came within half an hour after Park fell to the floor of the station. He had gone on shift to take the place of another member of the department whose wife was ill. Although Park had some trouble with his heart in the past he appeared to be in good condition as he started the day's work, fellow firemen said. Park received his first appointment on the Bellingham fire department April 1, 1918. Later in the year he entered the military service. Returning to Bellingham in April, 1919, he received appointment on the fire department under civil service. He would have been eligible for retirement in about nine months.
- Funeral services for Elmer C. Park, beloved husband of Mrs. Julia E. Park, 816 Twelfth Street, this city, who passed away Tuesday, September 16, (1941) will be held Saturday afternoon, September 20, at 2 o'clock, from the Bingham-Dahlquist Funeral Home with Rev. James M. Wilson, officiating. Interment will be made in the Van Zandt Cemetery. Mr. Park had resided in Bellingham for the past twenty-eight years and was a member of Bellingham Fire Department, having joined the department April 1, 1918, and was also a member of the local union, No. 106, I.A.F.F. Surviving relatives besides Mrs. Park, include three daughters, Florence Charlene, Betty Elizabeth and Patricia Ann, all residing at home; three brothers and two sisters, Lee A., and Morris Park of Bellingham, John D. Park and Mrs. Josephine Alviti, of Vallejo, Calif., and Mrs. Mercedes Mareau, of Bellingham.

PARK, Emma Marie - A funeral service for Emma Marie Park of 2616 Iron St., Bellingham was held at the Chapel of Gillies Funeral Home on Saturday, June 10, at 1 p.m. with Rev. Amy Jennings officiating. Interment followed at Van Zandt Cemetery. Mrs. Park passed away at the Regency Care Center in Monroe on Tuesday, June 6, 1989, at the age of 99. She was born in Fairfield, Wash., on March 12, 1890, to William and Wilhelmina Schultz. In Fairfield on Dec. 23, 1916, she was married to Epaphras Park. They homesteaded in Montana until 1930, then came to Whatcom County. Mr Park preceded her in death in 1954. Emma was a member of the Blue Bird Ladies Club. Survivors include her three sons, Walter Park and his wife Lillian of Snohomish, Lewis Park and wife Phyllis of Alger and Ray Park and wife Dorothy of Nooksack; two sisters, Rose Wade of Fairfield and Lydia Janney of Spokane; nine grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Robert. Services were under the care of Gillies Funeral Home of Lynden.

PARK, Epaphras W., age 77, a resident of the Maple Falls district for the past 23 years, passed away in this city Monday, February 15, (1954). Mr. Park is survived by his wife, Emma at home; three sons, Lewis R. of Route 2, Lynden, and Ray W. and Walter E., both of Route 1, Maple Falls; six grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, February 18, at 2 p.m. from the Gillies Funeral Home in Sumas with Rev. Leonard Emory officiating.

PARK, Florence M. - Funeral services for Florence M. Park, 82, will be held 2 p.m. Saturday in Hulbush Funeral Home with burial in Hawthorne Lawn Cemetery. Mrs. Park, a Burlington resident since 1956, died Tuesday at United General Hospital. She came to Skagit County in 1921 and lived in Anacortes many years before moving to Burlington. She was a member of the Central Valley Assembly of God Church. She is survived by her widower, William, at home; a daughter, Hazel Anderson of Grants Pass, Ore., a son, Delmar, of San Jose, Calif., sisters Mabel Pettett of Mount Vernon, Ethel Kalso of Bay View and Goldie Hainsworth of Salem; brothers Frank Westover of Lynnwood and the Rev. Lloyd Westover of Walpole, Mass, and two grandchildren.

PARK, Fred - Private funeral services for Frd Park, 64, Ferndale, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in Moles Funeral Home, Ferndale. Mr. Park died Thursday ( June 8, 1967). He had been a resident of Whatcom County the past 25 years and is survived by the widow, Virginia, a daughter Mrs. Gale Radtke of Seattle; three sons, Duane of Anaheim, Calif, and Kenneth and Dane of Ferndale; a sister, Mrs. Eva Lloyd of Cortz, Coco; two brothers, Claude of Durango, Colo., and Edwin of Anderson, Nev. The Rev John Haygood will officiate at the service which will be followed by burial in Enterprise Cemetery.

PARK, Georgia A., age 34 passed away October 30, 1983 at Travis AFB., California. She was born August 9, 1949 at Fort F. E. Warren AFB, Wyoming. She is survived by her husband, Raymond G.; a son, Darren L.; & daughter Michelle L. all of Travis A.f.B.; her parents William L. & Lois Thomas of Bellingham; her brother Gary L. Thomas of Everson; 2 sisters, Janet M. Johnson of Anacortes and Linda J. Thomas of Bellingham; paternal grandparents William and Lois Thomas of Lummi Island; and maternal grandparents Gus and Ruth Gustafson of Bellingham WA. Cremation and services were held November 3rd at Travis A.F.B., California. A private family graveside service and interment will be held November 7 at Greenacres Memorial Park, the Rev. D. D. Peterson officiating.

PARK, Helen C., age 80, passed away in a local nursing home, Sept. 6, 1979. She had been a resident of B'ham for the psst 70 years and leaves to survive 1 son Gene Park of B'ham; 3 daughters, Colleen Quady, Joan Coasts, LaVon Knight all of B'ham; 1 brother, George Anderson of Camano Island; 1 sister, Doris Foster of Seattle; 8 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Services were held Sat., sept. 8 at 2 p.m. at Veroske-Jerns-LeVeck Funeral Chapel with Past Carl Fischer officiating with private burial on Monday at Bay View Cemetery.

PARK, Julia E., age 71, of 816 12th St., passed away Tues., March 23, (1976). She had been a resident of Bellingham for the past 53 years. Surviving are two daughters, Peggie C. MacDonald of San Francisco and Patricia Cyzauskas of Bakersville, Calif.; a brother, Frank Potter of Deming; also 2 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Funeral services to be held in Veroske's Bellingham Chapel, Fri., March 26 at a.m., followed by burial in the VanZandt Cemetery.

PARK, Lee Adam, age 62, whose residence was 521 E. North, passed away at the family residence as a result of a heart attack Monday, October 19, Mr. Park had been a resident of Bellingham for the past 35 years. He had been with the Bellingham Fire department 26 years, having retired in 1944. Mr. Park was a member of the Knox Community Church, V.F.W., and the Retired Fireman's Association. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Helen C. Park, Bellingham; one son, Irving E., of Bellingham; three daughters, Mrs. LaVon B. Knight of Bellingham, Colleen and Joan at home. Also to sisters, Mrs. Hortense Moreau of Bellingham, Mrs. Josephine Danielson of California, and two brothers, Morris Park of Bellingham, Jack Park of California; three grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Friday, October 23, at 2 o'clock in the chapel of the Bingham-Dahlquist & Jerns Funeral Home with Rev. Edward Rogers officiating. Final resting place Bay View.

PARK, Lillian A. (Dulin), 76, 6827 Foster Slough Road, Snohomish, passed away in Everett Feb. 11, 1992. She ws born Dec. 12, 1915. She was a former Sumas resident. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Walter E. Park; one son, Walter Jr., three daughters, Mamie Cooperman, Nancy Wiltse and Tamara Kjelland and their spouses; her brother, Bill Dulin; her sister, Elvys Smith; and 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Phyllis Johnson. Funeral services were held Feb. 15 at Evergreen Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was a Van Zandt Cemetery. Arrangements were made by Evergreen Funeral Home of Everett.

PARK, Ray William, age 80, of Nooksack, WA died at Christian Health Care Center in Lynden on Sunday, Dec. 24, 2006. Born Feb. 3, 1926 in Great Falls, MT to Epphefras (sic) and Emma (Schulz) Park, Ray graduated from high school and served in the U.S. military during WWII. Employed as a laborer, he was involved with construction of many roads throughout Whatcom County. Ray was a member of Nooksack Valley United Methodist Church; his love for flying was evidenced by his obtaining a private pilot's license. As a fisherman, he was known as the best river steelhead and salmon fisherman in Nooksack. Preceded in death by his parents; wife, Dorothy, in 2005; he is survived by sons, Steve (Barbara) of Ferndale and Randy of Bellingham; daughter Kimberly of Randall, WA; three grandchildren; and brothers Lewis of Alger, WA, and Walter of Snohomish, WA. A memorial service will be held Wed. Dec. 27, 2 p.m. at Nooksack Valley United Methodist Church in Nooksack with Pastor Kathleen O'Conner officiating. Arrangements are under the care of Gillies Funeral Home and Cremation Services.

PARK, Robert Norman, age 75, completed his sojourn on earth and left the loving arms of his devoted family and entered into the arms of the Lord on June 11, 2006. Bob was born to Clinton and DeEtte Park in a converted chicken coop in Clipper during the Great Depression on September 1, 1930 and lived his entire life in Whatcom County. In his youth, Bob was an outstanding athlete who loved his agriculture classes. He graduated from Bellingham High School in 1948. Bob married Irene Thelan and raised five children on the Polled Hereford farm they created together. There he taught his children the balance of both hard work and hard play. As with others of his generation, life's lessons learned from the depression and World War II era left an indelible impact on his life, which in turn, was taught to his children. Bob proudly served his country as a member of the Washington State National guard for thirty years, retiring as a Senior Warrant Officer. Over the many years, he was active in the community as Boy Scout leader, PTA volunteer, Babe Ruth baseball league co-founder and coach and 4-H horse supporter. Bob worked various jobs during his life, allowing him time to enjoy his farm, eventually retiring from the Whatcom County road department. He enjoyed the pristine Cascade Mountains, rivers and streams and had his favorite spots along the Nooksack River. However, the one thing Bob loved more than his farm and tractor was his family. Bob is survived by Irene, his loving wife of 59 years, his five devoted children and spouses including Stanley and Siglinda Park in Germany, Adena and Dick Moen of Bellingham, Kathy and James Brady of Bremerton, Ken and Joni Park of Bellingham, and Murry and Shelley Park of Mount Vernon. Bob was called Grandpa by fifteen of his favorite people: Brian, Christopher, Daniel, Andy, Kristi, Marianne, Reshanna, Katie, Ryan, Matt, David, LaDawn, Theresa, Julianne, and Craig. Bob also cherished each of his seven great- grandchildren; Jabriel, Kyrin, Alina, Matthew, Lindsey, Natalie and Rebecca. Bob was preceded in death by his father, mother, brother Clinton and sisters Florence and Lillian. He is also survived by his sisters Dorothy Hougan, June Barnett and Audrey Park. Bob will always be remembered for his physical strength, love for life, determination, straight forward viewpoints and devotion to family. An open house for family and friends will be held to celebrate Bob's life on Saturday June 17, 2006 at the family farm on the Van Wyck Road from 1-5 p.m.

PARK, Shirley J. Statema, of Arlington died Wednesday, June 2, 1993, at home of cancer. She was 43. A memorial service was held Sunday at Mount View Presbyterian Church in Marysville. Born July 11, 1949, in Bellingham to Bernard and Ruth Statema of Lynden, she graduated from Lynden Christian High School. She married Lewis Mike Park on Nov. 1, 1969, in Lynden. They moved to Arlington. Mrs. Statema-Park worked for Washington State University Cooperative Extension for Snohomish, Skagit and Island counties. Survivors include her husband of Arlington; sons Sean Park, Seth Park and Jeremy Paark, all of the family home; daughter Amanda Park, also of the family home; her parents of Lynden; brother David Statema of Seattle; grandmother Florence Kortlever of Lynden; one niece; one nephew; and numerous other relatives.

PARK, Virginia Grace, resident of Anaheim, Calif., died Sunday, Nov. 29, 1992, in Fountain Valley, Calif. She was 81. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday at Moles Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Joanna Pearson officiating. burial will follow at Enterprise Cemetery. Mrs. Park was born Nov. 20, 1911, in Durango, Colo. She moved to Whatcom County in 1942, living in Ferndale from 1947 until she moved to Anaheim in 1989. A homemaker for 55 years, she loved working with flowers, plants and animals. Mrs. Par was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Park.

PARK, William W., age 92, of 2114 Young street, passed away at a local hospital Thursday, Feb. 7, (1957) following a lingering illness. Mr. Park had been a resident of Bellingham for many years and was a retired teacher. He leaves t survive one daughter of this city and many other relatives. Funeral services were conducted Friday, Feb. 8, followed by cremation under the direction of the Westford Funeral Home.

PARKER, Addie M., age 73, of 1112 Monroe Street passed away in a local hospital Friday, March 6, (1953). Mrs. Parker had resided here for the past 17 years and was a member of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She is survived by 5 sons, Raymond, of Bellingham, Harry Lynn, of Clearlake, Galen E., of Seattle, Ted F., of Seattle, and Alton R. Parker, of Everson; 5 daughters, Mrs. Thelma Waidelich, of Clearlake, Mrs. Neva Bowen, of Hastings, Iowa, Mrs. Ethel Roedell and Mrs. Edith Jackson, both of Seattle, and Mrs. Dorothy Sidebottom, of Sedro Woolley; 58 grandchildren; 56 great-grandchildren; one brother, Harry M. Mitchell, of Seattle; one sister, Mrs. Fern Piburn, of Omaha, Nebraska, and numerous nieces and nephews. The remains rest at the funeral home of Harlow-Hollingsworth where services will be conducted by Elder Aleah Koury Monday, March 9 at 1:00 p.m. Final resting place, Bay View.

PARKER, Agnes Inez - Graveside service for Agnes Inez Weatherby Parker, age 74 of 880 Slater Rd. will be Wednesday, Nov. 16 at 1 p.m. at Bay View Cemetery with Rev. Al Currier, First Advent Christian Church, officiating. Mrs. Parker passed away Friday, November 11, 1983. She was the sister of Rev. Gilbert & wife Vay Westherby of Hereford, Arizona, John & wife Alice Weatherby of Custer, Harry & wife Violet Weatherby and Robert & wife Ione Weatherby, both of Lynden, Elsie & husband Cecil VanBrocklin of Dallas, Oregon and Violet Verkist of City; numerous nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Turly "Butch" in 1965 & brother Milton Weatherby in 1944. Mrs. Parker moved to Whatcom County in 1927 and was a member of the First Advent Christian Church. Loewen and Charlene Halverson, both of Bellingham; 2 brothers, Harry Parker of Clearlake and Ted Parker of Seattle; 4 sisters, Thelma Waidekucg of Clearlake, Ethel Roedell and Edith Boston both of Seattle, Dorothy Fitchgerald of Eastern Washington; 15 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; a very dear friend Emma Schimke of Bow. He was preceded in death by his wife Mary in 1975. Graveside services will be held Mon., Aug. 5th at 11 a.m. at Bayview Cemetery with Pastor Joseph Harris officiating. PARKER, Arabella Barry, age 97, of 2814 Broadway, passed away in a local hospital, Monday, July 18, (1960). Mrs. Parker had resided in Bellingham for the past 60 years; was a member of the Presbyterian Church; member of the DAR; member of Sehome Chapter No. 17, OES; member of the WCTU; was a member of the Golden Age Club of the Garden Street Methodist Church. Survivors are one daughter, Mrs. Harriet Beecher, of Bellingham; two sons, Edward r. Barry, of Orange, Calif., and Ernest L. Barry, of San Diego, Calif.; three grandsons; two granddaughters; 10 great-grandchildren; one step-daughter, Mrs. Earl Graham, of Glacier. The remains rest at the Jones Funeral Home where services will be conducted by the Rev. E. Gordon Crider and officers of the Sehome Chapter No. 17, OES, Friday, July 22, at 3 p.m. Final resting place Bay View Cemetery.

PARKER, Archie L., Sr., age 70, passed away at home, 1863 Northshore Rd., Wed. Sept. 5, 1990. He was born on April 18, 1920 and was a lifetime resident of Bellingham. He married Eileen V. Warner on Dec. 6, 1941. He was a member of the Machinest Union and worked many years for Fraser Chevrolet, Bellingham Auto Parts and retired from Western Washington University as custodian. He was involved for a number of years, along with his 2 sons, in power boat racing. He loved fishing and was past president of the Hammond Organ Society and present president of the Peace Arch Society. He is survived by his loving wife Eileen of the family home; 2 sons, Archie & Ginny Parker Jr., Frank & Arlene Parker; 1 daughter, Edna & Larry Chambers; 9 grandchildren, Tammy LaMont, Kevin & Sherri Chambers, Tracy Chambers, Archie L. Parker III and Samantha Hewitt, Troy Parker, Trevis & Karl Chambers, Quentin Chambers, Craig Parker & Brent Chambers; 3 great grandchildren, Marc LaMont, Bryant LaMont & Jordan Chambers, all of Bellingham. Mr. Parker Sr. was loving and very dedicated to his wife, children and their families. Memorial service will be held on Fri. Sept. 7, 1990 at 10 a.m. at Westford Funeral Home. Burial to follow at Bayview Cemetery. Officiating at the memorial will be Rev. Joseph Harris and playing the organ will be Einar Moen. Under the direction of the Westford Funeral Home.

PARKER, Ardelle Elaine, age 44, passed away Mon., April 30, 1979 in Seattle. she was born in Sumas Jan. 24, 1935. She is survived by a son Ward; parents, Wilmer and Lorraine Triplett of B'ham; grandmother Maude Sleasman, Sumas. The funeral will be a graveside service Thurs., May 3 at noon at Acacia Memorial Park, in care of Acacia Funeral Home.

PARKER, Barbara J. of 1706 Wilson Ave. died Monday, Jan. 31, 1994, at home after a long illness. She was 55. At her request, no services will be held. Born May 11, 1938 to Gerald and Vivian Rowe in Chilliwack, B.C., she lived in Whatcom County for 34 years. She married William D. Parker on July 12, 1954 in Everett. Mrs. Parker was a member of Community Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her son Mark Parker in 1989; and her father in 1983. PARKER, Brandy Marie, age 2, infant daughter of Donald and Charlene Parker, of 2406 Cornwall Ave., Bellingham, passed away Monday, February 17, 1986 in Bellingham. She was born in Bellingham Sept. 5, 1983. She was a Bellingham Resident all her life. Besides her parents, she's survived by three brothers, Brandon Strickland of Bellingham, Brandon Wayne and Lewis Michael Parker of Vancouver, WA; natural mother, Alice Parker of Vancouver, WA; grandparents, Jolene Parker of Blaine an dErnie Parker of Blaine, Patsy and Pete Kittell of Vancouver, WA; great grandmother, Georgia Staley of Vancouver, WA, Estelle Parker of Forsyth, Georgia; numerous aunts, uncles and other relatives. Funeral services were held Friday, February 21 at 11 a.m. at Moles Funeral Home with Pastor Harold Schroeder officiating.

PARKER, Carl Robert, age 57, 135 Sudden Valley, passed away April 27, 1991 at St. Joseph Main Campus. Born Feb. 3, 1934 in North Fork, Virginia, he had been a resident of Bellingham for the past 5 years. He was Traffic and development Engineer for Whatcom County; member of American Society of Engineers and American Institute of Traffic Engineers. His hobbies were boating and fishing; he enjoyed traveling and music and being with his children and grandchildren, who inturn enjoyed being with him. Survived by his wife Wanda; 2 sons, Carl Parker Jr. of Denison, TX, Scott Parker of Bellingham; 3 daughters, Deboah Fewell of Fullerton, CA, Pamela Ford of Ridge Crest, CA, Tricia Parker.

PARKER, Carrie Belle, 76, of Deming, died Sunday (May 8, 1955) in a local hospital. She had resided at Deming the past eight years and was a member of First Church of Christ Scientist. Surviving relatives include one son, Nathan Applington, and one daughter, Mrs. Ona Pearson, both of Deming; 11 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one brother, Dan Ohms of Toppenish; three sisters, Mrs. Dora Donnelly of San Gabriel, Calif., and Mrs. Mae Callander and Miss Mabel Ohms, both of Los Angeles, and numerous nieces and nephews. Christian Science services will be read at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Harlow-Hollingsworth Funeral Home. Burial will be at Greenacres Memorial Park.

PARKER, Charles G. – At his request, there will be no funeral service for Charles "Charlie" G. Parker of Mount Vernon, formerly of Bellingham. A March memorial gathering is planned. Mr. Parker died Friday, Dec. 15, 2000 at Mount Vernon Care Center. He was 98. Born June 2, 1902, to Merwin W. and Bertha M. (Josephson) Parker in Tacoma, he was their eldest son. He completed his early education in Bellingham. As a young man, he worked in the timber industry in Whatcom County and later moved to and worked in Valez, Alaska. In 1924, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served as an aviation machinist's mate aboard the USS Tennessee. Following his discharge, he enlisted with the U.S. Coast Guard, serving aboard the patrol craft Redwing out of Anacortes. In 1929, he married and had two children. During the 1930s, he worked as a truck driver for the Mount Vernon-Anacortes stage line. He also was a Sea Scout skipper for Ship 81 of Anacortes. In 1941, he returned to the sea as chief engineer on PB 108, a tug with the U.S. Engineering Department. While off Adak in the Aleutian Islands, Alaska, his chip struck a reef and capsized. He later served with the Army Transport Corps in the South Pacific Theater, where his troop transport was torpedoed and sunk. Mr. Parker returned to Bellingham in 1945 and worked as a truck driver in the timber industry. In 1946, he married Ada Smith and built a home in the Geneva area, near Lake Whatcom. Mr. Parker finished out his career with the Whatcom County Road Department, retiring in 1967. Mr. Parker and his wife later moved to a home on Anderson Road in Mount Vernon. Mr. Parker was a member of the Masonic Order, Fidalgo Lodge No. 77 and was active in the teamster's union. He loved to fish in the Nooksack and Skagit rivers and earned the honorary title, "Mayor of Youngs Bar," where he fished for more than 30 years. Survivors include his wife of 54 years of Mount Vernon; son Charles T. Parker and daughter Joan Ketchersid, both of Clarkston; stepson Douglas Smith of 100 Mile House, B.C., and stepdaughter Denneen Leger of Mount Vernon; 14 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Arrangements are by Kern Funeral Home of Mount Vernon.

PARKER, Charles K., age 93, of 365 Beard Rd., Lynden, passed away Tues., May 22, 1990 at a local care center in Bellingham. He was born May 4, 1897 in a log cabin in Ferndale. Mr. Parker spent most of his life in the Ferndale and Laurel areas except for his time in the Army during World War I. He was a very active member of the Laurel Community Baptist Church, and helped organize and was a charter member of the Darigold Cooperative. He was also a charter member of Whatcom County Egg & Poultry Coop and member of Laurel V.F.W. Post No. 3685 and Laurel Grange. He is survived by Dorothy, his wife of 67 years; 3 sons, David and wife Beverly, Richard and wife Ruby, Philip and wife Garnet all of Lynden; 2 daughters, Shirley Monthy and husband Charles of Tacoma, Philis Standen of Spokane; 15 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren, and numerous other relatives. Mr. Parker was preceded in death by 2 sisters and a brother. A graveside service for family & friends will be Friday, May 25, 3:30 p.m. at Greenacres Memorial Park with military honors and a memorial service Sat, May 26, 2 pm at Laurel Community Baptist Church. Officiating will be Pastor James Blades.

PARKER, Charles R., age 82, passed away Thursday, May 19, (1966) at his residence in Marysville, Wash. Mr. Parker was a retired logger and resided in Bellingham for over 70 years before moving to Marysville. He leaves to survive 1 daughter, Evelyn Bartholomew of Marysville; 1 sister, Mrs. Frank Christy of Bellingham; 1 brother Richard Parker of Puyallup, and 1 granddaughter. Services will be conducted Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. with Mathew Donohue officiating in the Chapel of the Gingham and Jerns Funeral Home. Interment Bay View.

PARKER, Charles R. "Charlie" age 30, 2538 Birch Bay-Lynden Road, Custer, passed away at home Mon. September 20, 1993. He was born June 8, 1993 in Enid, OK to Wayne and Nancy Parker; came to Whatcom County in 1969. He graduated from Ferndale High school in 1981; loved to draw pen and charcoal art; was an avid reader of world history and enjoyed the outdoors. Survived by parents Wayne and Nancy Parker, Custer; brother Whit B. Parker, Custer; Carson Parker and wife Patty, Bellingham; nephews Weston and Grant Parker, Custer; Michael Bergman, Bellingham; numerous aunts, uncles and other relatives and friends. PARKER, David L., 49, formerly of Whatcom County, died in Skagit County Tues. March 30, (1982). He was born in Hastings, Iowa, June 1, 1932, th son of Alton & Mary Parker, came to Washington in 1936, settling in Whatcom County. He was educated there and graduated from Mt. Baker High School in the Class of 1949. He married Blanche Burpee in Bellingham Nov. 23, 1950. He attended the Lee De Forrest Technical School of Chicago and had lived in Skagit County for the past 26 years in the Mt. Vernon & Big Lake areas. Survivors are his wife Blanche of Big Lake; 2 daughters & sons in law, Kathleen & Ray Bryson, Josie & Barry Boay, all of Sedro Woolley; 2 sons, Mark at home and Larry & daughter-in-law Holly Parker of Hoquiam his father Alton R. Parker of Everson; 3 sisters, Jeanette A. Lee of Everson, Charlene L. Brown of Bellingham and Donna M. Loewen of Deming; 1 brother, Jack A. Parker of Everson; his mother in law, Mrs. Hilma Burpee of Mt. Vernon; 6 grandchildren, Angela, Amanda, Cameron, Ryan, Lindy and Aaron; and nieces & nephews. His mother preceded him in death in 1975. Graveside funeral services will be held in the Mt. Vernon IOOF Cemetery at 2 p.m. Thurs. April 1 with burial to follow there Mr. Parker will lie in state at the Kern Funeral Chapel, Mt. PARKER, Dorothy Sarah - A graveside service for Dorothy Sarah (Holz) Parker of Lynden, formerly of Laurel, will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Greenacres Memorial Park near Ferndale. A memorial service will follow at 11 a.m. at Laurel Community Baptist Church, with the Rev. Robert Cameron officiating. Mrs. Parker died Wednesday, Nov. 15, 2000, in Lynden. She was 96. Born July 7, 1904, to Herman and Sarah (Ernst) Holz in Seattle, she moved with her family to Whatcom County when she was 7 years old, and they settled on a farm in Laurel. In 1923, she graduated from Meridian High School. On Dec. 24, 1923, she married Charles K. Parker, and they lived in Laurel, where they farmed on Laurel Road before moving to Beard Road to raise their family. He died in 1990. In 1960, she was named Whatcom County Farm Woman of the Year. Mrs. Parker was an active member of Laurel Community Baptist Church, Laurel Home Demonstration Club, Laurel Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, Laurel Grange and D.U.P.I. Garden Club. She enjoyed sewing and gardening and won many blue ribbons at the Northwest Washington Fair for her floral arrangements. She also enjoyed trips to Arizona for the winters. Her sisters Helen Froberg and Emma Brown and brothers Bill, Fred, Ben, Wallace, Albert, Ozwald, Walter, Les and Don Holz also died previously. Survivors include sons David and Phillip Parker, both of Lynden, and Richard Parker of Everson daughters Shirley Monthy of Tacoma and Phillis Beran of Juneau, Alaska 15 grandchildren 39 great-grandchildren and 13 great-great-grandchildren. PARKER, Earl W., age 66, of 3607 Julia Street, passed away in a local hospital, Wednesday, December 3, (1947). Mr. Parker had resided in this community for the past thirty years and was a salesman for the Metropolitan Insurance Company. Surviving relatives are the widow, Winifred E., at home; three sons E. Jack Parker, of this city, Donald D., Portland, Ore., and William Ted, Oakland, Calif.; one sister, Mrs. S. H. Agnew, this city; four grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. He married Nadine M. Parker on Dec. 29, 1952, in Bellingham. PARKER, Edward A., age 83 years, 2000 Iron Street, passed away at a local hospital, Thursday, October 30. after a lingering illness. Mr Parker had been a resident of Bellingham for almost sixty years and was a member of the Salvation Army. Surviving relatives include two daughters, Mrs. Mildred Ray, Bellingham, and Ms. Marion C. Grubb, Seattle; one brother, Jack Parker, and one half brother, Fred Bailey, both of Bellingham; three granddaughters, and three great-grandchildren, also numerous other relatives. PARKER, Ethel B., 81, died Sunday, Sept. 27, 1992, in Bellingham. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Ferndale Alliance Church. She was born June 30, 1911, in Vale, Ore., to Enoch and Nina Coffelt. They moved in 1913 to Whatcom County, where she was the first of three generations to graduate from Ferndale High School. She married Alton N. Parker on Nov. 26, 1933. An enthusiastic gardener, she belonged to D.U.P.I. Garden Club for many years. She was also a member of Ferndale Alliance Church, formerly known as Bakerview Baptist; an active leader in Campfire and Horizon Girls; a charter member of "What-Com" Good Sam Club; and a member of Bellingham Senior Center "Belles and Bows" dance group. She also enjoyed traveling to Arizona and other parts of the country. Mrs. Parker chaired the committee that erected a totem pole in Ferndale. Survivors include her husband of Whatcom County; sons Charles Parker of Sedro-Woolley and William Parker of Laurel; daughters Nancy wright of Everson and Dorothy Roemer of Ferndale; sisters Laura Curry, Pearl Gitts and Aletha Bring, all of Bellingham; brother Floyd Coffelt of Kirkland; numerous grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Arrangements are by Whatcom Cremation Association in Ferndale.

PARKER, Fred L., age 74, of 1854 Kelly Road, passed away in a local hospital Sunday, May 17, (1953). Mr. Parker had resided in this community for the past five years, and was previously from Camano Island. He was a retired asbestos worker for the U.S. Navy Yard at Bremerton. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church and the F.O.Eagles Lodge No. 172 at Ballard, Wash. Surviving relatives include his wife, Mrs. Rose Parker at the family home; a step-son, Alfred Follis, of Portland, Ore.; three step-daughters, Mrs. Margie McGivon, of Seattle, Mrs. Goldie Headland, of Hoquiam, Wash., and Mrs. Clara Hofferber, of Bremerton; a brother, Joseph T. Parker, of Seattle; three sisters, Mrs. Julia E. Burch and Mrs. Alice Boester, both of Seattle, and Mrs. Martha Mielke, of Santa Cruz, Calif.; five nephews, Lewie Williams, Loy and Iryl Burch, all of Seattle, Hiram Montgomery and Clifford Resburg, both of Cashmere; and a niece, Mrs. Katie Bailey, also of Cashmere. PARKER, Glenn A. Jr., age 51 of 702 32nd St. Bellingham, Wa. passed away at St. Joseph Hospital June 13, 1991. He was born June 28, 1939 in Olympia, WA. He attended Sultan High School and was Valedictorian of his class. He attended Everett Jr. College & later joined the U.S. Navy and served on the Nuclear Submarine. Upon discharge, he worked for IBM in the computer center for ten years. He later worked for WWU in the computer center. His hobbies were boating, fishing, making model airplanes and most recently oil painting. He is survived by his parents Glenn & Anna Parker Sr. of Bellingham, two brothers Lloyd & Cora-Jane Parker of Silverdale, WA, Curtis & Nancy Parker of Fortine, Mo.; one sister Marilyn & Loren Scott of Edmonds, Wa. Numerous nieces & nephews. Preceded in death by his sister Vivian Parker. Graveside services will be held on June 22, 1991, at 2 p.m. at the Riverton Crest Cemetery in Tukwilla, WA. PARKER, Guy, age 69, of 2208 Valencia, passed away in a local hospital Tuesday, June 2, (1953). Mr. Parker was a retired farmer. PARKER, Harry N., age 85, of 1509 E. Victor, passed away at a local hospital Monday, February 23, following a lingering illness. Mr. Parker had been a resident of Bellingham for many years. PARKER, Ida May, 89, 900 Baker Street, Bellingham, Wa. passed away at her home September 8, 1992. She was born June 27, 1903 to Charles and Emma Kraft. Mrs. Parker lived in Soap Lake for 20 years before moving to Bellingham five years ago. She was a 50-year member at Mountain Valley Grange #79; had the first dairy farm in Clark County; did plumbing, electrical and carpentry work alongside her husband Clarence. She has made over 90 quilts for her grandchildren and hospitals. Survivors are her son, Richard and his wife Nancy Parker, of Bellingham; four daughters, Marjorie and her husband Carl Kennerud of Soap Lake, Wa., Peggy and her husband Aaron Martin of Bellingham, Nancy and her husband Henry Anderson of Seward, Alaska, Natalie and her husband Walt Leininger of Everett; twenty-six grandchildren and numerous great great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by daughters Elinor Parker and Clarice Stewart of Portland. Visitation will be 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Friday and 9:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Saturday at Jerns LeVeck Chapel. A funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, September 12, in the Jerns LeVeck Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow at the Valley View Memorial Park, Soap Lake, Washington. The arrangements and services are under the direction of the Jerns LeVeck Funeral Chapel and crematorium.

PARKER, Ione Frances, 75, died Saturday in an Everett nursing home. She was born Arg. 25, 1910, in Amity, Mo., and was a member of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She lived in Everett the last five years. Prior to that, Mr. Parker had lived in Bellingham. Survivors include five sons, including Earl and Ted of Bellingham; one daughter, 18 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; two sisters; a brother; and numerous nieces, nephews, grand- and great-grand nieces and nephews. Funeral services were scheduled today at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Jones Funeral Home with Elder Mark Anway officiating. Burial was planned at Bayview Cemetery.

PARKER, J. Ray, age 74, of Route 4, Box 481, Bellingham, passed away in a local hospital, Tuesday, August 10, (1948). Mr. Parker had been a resident of this community for the past fourteen years and was a retired farmer. Surviving relatives are the widow, addie M., at home; five sons, Alton and Raymond, of Bellingham, Lynn, of Fir Lake, Galen of Seattle, and Ted, of Fairbanks, Alaska; five daughters, Mrs. Neva Bowen, of Hastings, Iowa, Mrs. Thelma Weidlich and Mrs. Dorothy Sidebottom, of Clear Lake, Mrs. Ethel Roedell and Mrs. Edith Brown, of Seattle; forty-six grandchildren, and twenty four great-grandchildren; six brothers, Roscoe and Edward in Missouri, Charles Os and Ralph in Iowa and Clifford in Tennessee. The remains are at the funeral home of Harlow-Hollingsworth, where services will be conducted by the Rev. Harlan F. Stone, Saturday, August 14, at 3 p.m. Final resting place, Bay View.

PARKER, Jerald Jason - A graveside service for Jerald Jason Parker of Ferndale will be at 10 a.m. today in the Lummi Cemetery with the Revs. Ron Morris and Joanne Hall officiating. A lunch will follow at Marietta Grange. Mr. Parker of 2254 Main St. died Jan. 30, 1994 at St. Joseph Hospital as the result of a homicide. He was 19. Born Nov. 11, 1975 to Gene and Sandra Solomon Parker in Port Angeles, he moved to Ferndale in 1992. He attended Ferndale High School and Northwest Indian College. He starred in "Gift of the Whales," an educational film put out by Miramar Productions. He enjoyed basketball and was a part-time fisherman. Mr. Parker was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, John Lewis Solomon Sr. Survivors include his parents of the Lummi Reservation; sisters Janet H. Parker of the family home and Betty Jean Parker of Neah Bay; brothers Donald Parker, Gene Parker Jr. and Glen Parker, all of the family home; maternal grandmother Nellie Todd and step-grandfather Irving Todd of the Lummi Reservation; paternal grandparents Eugene O. and Dorthy Parker of Neah Bay; and numerous other relatives. PARKER, John Dorr, age 74, of Ferndale passed away Thurs., Apr. 4, 2002, in Ferndale. He was born Feb. 7, 1928, in Albert Lea, MN. He came to Washington at the age of 2 years. Mr. Parker graduated from Meridian High School in 1947. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service in 1983 after 20 years as a mail carrier and 14 years as a postal supervisor and had been a past president of the Letter Carriers Union. He married Anna Lou Little in 1955. Mr. Parker was a member of the Ferndale Senior Activity Center and current President. He was a support group leader for the American Diabetes Association and volunteer on the Bellingham Bike Ride, Tulip Walk in Mt. Vernon and on the Walktober in Everett. Survived by wife Anna Lou Parker of the family home 5 children, Linda Parker-Smith & husband Doug, Susan Pagels & husband Steve, Jayne Jurado & husband Luis and David Parker & wife Valerie all of Bellingham and Douglas Parker of Mt. PARKER, John H., age 76 years, passed away at his home, 1505 G Street, Thursday, February 15, (1945). Mr. Parker was a retired rancher and had resided here the past twelve years. Surviving relatives are three sisters, Mrs. Betty Lane in Texas, Mrs. Iva Thompson in California and Miss Alice Parker of this city; also one brother, Robert Parker, Coupeville, Wash. The remains are at the funeral home of Harlow-Hollingsworth where services will be conducted by the Rev. Roy Leslie Smith, Saturday, February 17 at 10:30 a.m. Cremation.

PARKER, John Russell (Jack), age 92 years, 1703 G Street, passed away at a local hospital, Monday, August 10, (1949) after a lingering illness. Mr. Parker had been a resident of Whatcom County for the past sixty-five years and was a member of the Whatcom County Dairymen's Association. Surviving relatives include one daughter, Mrs. Alma Christie, Bellingham; five son, Charles R., of Bellingham; Nate C. of Everson; John H. Klamath Falls, Ore.; Richard, of Puyallup, and Roy of Seattle, and Fred Bailey, a half-brother of Bellingham. Services will be held Saturday, August 13 at 1:30 p.m. Interment at Bay View Cemetery.

PARKER, Jolene M. - A funeral service for Jolene M. Parker of Blaine will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Greenacres Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Ralph Poulson will officiate. Mrs. Parker died Friday, June 9, 2000, at St. Joseph Hospital. She was 61. Mrs. Parker was born on Aug. 6, 1938, in Calhoun, Ga., to Bruce and Bertha (Wofford) Vaughan. She had lived in Whatcom County since 1968. She is survived by sons Donald Parker and Tim Parker, both of Ferndale; daughter Sharon Parker of Blaine; brothers Donald Vaughan of Atlanta, Ga., and J. W. Vaughan of Calhoun, Ga., and three grandchildren. Her brothers Richard and Dickie Vaughan and sister Sheila Vaughan died previously. PARKER, Katheryn Mae passed away Saturday, July 6, 2002 at the Skagit Valley Hospital in Mount Vernon, WA at the age of 58 years. She was born June 3, 1944 in Bellingham, WA to James and Patricia Lusk. Katheryn grew up and attended school in Whatcom County and was married to Charles Parker on October 15, 1965 in Everson, WA. They resided in the Poulsbo area for many years until moving to Sedro Woolley 14 years ago. Katheryn enjoyed traveling in their motorhome, gardening, knitting, reading, and going to thrift shops and yard sales. She is survived by her husband Charles Parker of the family home in Sedro Woolley, two sons Jeffrey and Scott Parker and two grandchildren Keith and Trent Parker all of Sedro Woolley mother Pat Lusk of Deming, WA. sister Linda and husband Preston Ross of Atlanta, GA and brother Terry Lusk of Bellingham. At Katheryn's request there are to be no services. Arrangements and cremation under the care of Lemley Chapel, Sedro Woolley.

PARKER, LeRoy M. - Graveside services for LeRoy M. Parker, 91, who lived in Bellingham most of his life, will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Greenacres Memorial Park, with the Rev. Leonard C. Ericksen officiating. Parker died Tuesday (Nov. 22, 1988) in Kirkland, where he had lived since moving from Bellingham in 1981. He was born Aug. 2, 1897 in Kansas. He was a member of the D.A.V. William Matthews Post 1585 of Veterans of Foreign Wars. Survivors include a son, Wallace Parker of Kirkland; a daughter, Elberta Kuehnel of Port Townsend; a foster daughter, Josephine Reinholt of Needles, Calif.; two sisters, Ruby Kendall of Bellingham and Beth Morseman of Gresham, Ore.; 12 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. PARKER, Mable Jane, age 80, a resident of 3511 Almira Dr., Bremerton, WA. She died at the Bremerton Convalescent Center on Fri., April 14, 1978. She was born in Omaha, Nebr. on July 25, 1897. She came to Bremerton from B'ham in 1944. She is the widow of Harry Frank Parker, who died in 1951. She was a member of the Senior Citizen Org. in Bremerton, had been a homemaker all her life. She is survived by 2 daughters, Mrs. Carl (Winona) Bennett of Wauna, Wa. Mrs. Carl (Wanita) Johnson of Vancouver, Wa. Also 2 brothers; Harold Parker of Mt. Lake Terrace and Richard L. Parker of Knoxville, Tenn. and 11 grandchildren. Private services will be held at the Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home in Bremerton, Mon., April 17 at 3 p.m. Interment will follow at Bay View Cemetery in B'ham.

PARKER, Marie Evelyn, 42, of Bellingham, died Sunday, February 10, 1991, at Virginia Mason Hospital, in Seattle, following an extended illness. She was born October 2, 1948, in Mount Vernon, daughter of Gib and Evelyn McKellar, Marie was raised in Mount Vernon ad graduated from Mount Vernon High School in 1966. She married Clark Parker, August 28, 1970 in Mount Vernon. They moved to Whatcom County in 1972 and have resided there since. Marie is survived by her husband Clark of Bellingham and a daughter, Tricia Parker of Bellingham; brother and sister-in-law, Ken and Jan McKellar of Yakima, WA; father and mother-in law, Frank and Ferbia Parker of Ferndale (formerly of Skagit County; numerous other family members and friends. Inurnment will be at Hawthorne Memorial Park under the direction of Hawthorn Funeral Chapel. A memorial service for Marie Evelyn Parker will be Saturday, February 16, 1991 at 2:00 p.m. at Hawthorne Funeral Chapel, 1825 East College Way, Mount Vernon, WA. PARKER, Marjory Walston age 68, died at her home in Miami, FL, July 25, 1984. She was born June 14, 1916 in Burlington, Wash. As a small child, she moved with her family to the Laurel District & graduated from Meridian High School. She was a veteran of World War II having served in the WAVES of the U.S. Navy. She was preceded in death by her husband Fred B. Parker & a son Thomas. She leaves to survive 1 daughter, Sandra Parker of Miami; 1 granddaughter, Shannon Parker of Conn.; 1 sister, Gayle Beernink of Lynden; 1 brother, Virgil & wife Helene Walston, both of Lynden; 2 sisters-in-law, Violet Walston of Bremerton & Dorothy Parker from the east coast; & numerous nieces & nephews. Memorial services will be held at a later date in Miami.

PARKER, Marvin Ray of 2211 E. Hemmi Road died Wednesday, June 28, 1995 of toxic streptococcal syndrome, group A, in Bellingham. He was 35. Born Sept. 5, 1959 to Jackie and Barbara Littleton Parker in Bellingham, he lived his entire life here. Mr. Parker graduated from Mount Baker High School in 1977. He enjoyed snow skiing, hiking and fishing. He did artwork in pen and ink, especially lawnscapes. He was preceded in death by a brother, Michael J. Parker. PARKER, Mary M., 5967 Lawrence Rd., Everson, died Friday, (Apr. 25, 1975). She was 65. Mrs. Parker had been a resident of the Deming, Lawrence and Everson areas since 1936. PARKER, Merwin W., aged 66 years, beloved husband of Mrs. Bertha Parker, 62 Lake Whatcom Boulevard, passed away at a local hospital, Wednesday, January 17, (1945) following a lingering illness. PARKER, Millie M., age 78, of Friday Harbor, passed away in a Bellingham hospital Thursday, May 24, (1956). PARKER, Myrtle Rose, age 64, of 1769 Laurel Rd., passed away at home Friday, Sept. 18, (1959). Miss Parker had resided in Whatcom County her entire life, the past 59 years in the Laurel community; was a charter member of the Laurel Baptist Church. Survivors are one sister, Mrs. Violet M. Lloyd, of Laurel; two brothers, Charles Parker, of Lynden, and Victor Parker, of Bellingham; numerous nieces and nephews; two uncles, Charles Peterson, of Bellingham, and P. A. PARKER, Nell R. - Funeral services for Mrs. Nell R. Parker, age 68, of Gustavus, Alaska, will be conducted on Thursday, October 6, at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Gillies Funeral Home with Rev. Cornelius Rientjes officiating. The remains will be forwarded to Juneau, Alaska for services and burial on Saturday, October 8. Mrs. Parker, who died while visiting her daughter in Everson on Sunday, October 2, (1983), was born in Pasadena, California on august 30, 1914 and had been a resident of the Juneau and Gustavus areas for the past forty-six years. Prior to her retirement in1980, she had been a Lab Technician for the U.S. Forest Service. She was a member of the Toastmistress Club in Juneau and was a member of the Bethel Assembly of God Church in Juneau, where she was the Womens Missionary President for many years and also the Districts Women Missionary Representative. She was married to her husband Glen in Gustavus on June 10, 1938. She is survived by her husband Glen; a daughter, Mrs. Marguerite and husband Jim Neyens of Everson; two grandsons, Jeremy and Benjamin Neyens; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Louise Kaminski of Tulare, California and Mrs. Valorie and husband Lawrence Marriage of Sacramento, California; four brothers, Joseph and wife Shirley Crowell of Fresno, Cal., James F. and wife Jeanie and William and wife Leeta Crowell, all of Clovic, Cal., and Robert and wife Barbara of North Highlands, Cal. and numerous nieces and nephews.

PARKER, Phillip H. of Lynden died at his home on Sunday, Aug. 4, (2002) following a short illness. He was 61. Phil was the son of Charles and Dorothy (Holz) Parker and was born in Bellingham on November 20, 1940. He grew up in the Laurel area and graduated from Meridian High School in 1958. On June 11, 1960 he was married to Garnet Beyer in Lynden and together they operated a dairy farm on the Beard Road. He was a lifelong member of the Laurel Community Baptist Church where he served as a Sunday School Teacher, Elder, Deacon and Moderator. Among his other community services, Mr. Parker served on the Board of the Whatcom Farmer's Co-Op and the Meridian School Board. He and Garnet enjoyed traveling and went to Mexico and the Dominican Republic to help build mission churches and schools. He also enjoyed back packing, photography and reading especially history and current events. Phil was preceded by his parents and is survived at home by his wife Garnet daughter Dena Sharpe and husband Michael of Dupont, WA, son Tad Parker of Lynden grandson Jonathan Sharpe brothers David Parker and wife Bev of Lynden and Richard Parker and wife Ruby of Everson, sister Shirley Monthy and husband Charles of Tacoma and twin sister Philis Beran and husband Paul of Juneau, Alaska and numerous other relatives. Graveside committal services will be conducted on Friday, August 9, at 2:15 p.m. in Greenacres Memorial Park followed by funeral services at 3:00 p.m. in the Laurel Community Baptist church with Pastor Bob Cameron officiating. Services are under the care of Gillies Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Lynden.

Follis of Edmonds; three daughters, Mrs. Goldie Hadland of Hoquiam, Mrs. Clara Hofferber of Bremerton, and Mrs. Marjorie McGibbon of Seattle, and 11 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and four great-great grandchildren. PARKER, Ruth Marie Hains - A funeral for Ruth Marie Hains Parker will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Greenacres Memorial Park Chapel. Mrs. Parker died Thursday, Aug. 24, 2000, at Sehome Park Care Center. She was 98. Born July 8, 1902, in Tacoma to James M. and Eva M. Hains, she attended Beutel Business College in Tacoma. She married Joseph William Parker in 1935. In 1945, the couple moved to Bellingham, where Mr. Parker worked for KVOS radio. Mrs. Parker held various jobs through the years, including work as a grocery clerk, postal worker, legal secretary, state License Department employee and an employee of Lakeway Golf Course. She was a life member of World War I Auxiliary, American Legion Auxiliary and Eight & Forty, and was active in Democratic Women's Club and Unity Church. She loved to crochet afghans, and often gave them as wedding and birthday gifts. Survivors include son Richard Parker of Kent, stepdaughter Genevieve Thurman of Bozeman, Mont., five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, numerous great-great-grandchildren, and other relatives. PARKER, Verdie, age 64 years, of 1237 Grant, passed away at a local hospital Thursday, Dec. 11, (1952) following a lingering illness. Mrs. Parker had been a resident of Bellingham for the past 50 years and was a State Committee Woman for the Democratic Party for a number of years, a Precinct Committee Woman for the past 18 years, and active member in the Women's Democratic Club in Bellingham and Sumas. She is survived by her husband, William R.; two daughters, Mrs. Phyllis Lockwood and Mrs. Marie Luke, both of this city; four grandsons; three brothers, Fred Quimby, of Everson; Walter and Willard, both of this city. Funeral services will be conducted Monday, Dec. 15, at 10:30 a.m. within the Cathedral Chapel of the Westford-Beck Funeral Home with the Rev. W. Carl Calhoun, officiating. PARKER, Victor David, of 1417 Huntley Rd., Bellingham, passed away Wed., Jan. 13, 1988. He was born Nov. 23 1904 in laurel and graduated from Meridian High School. He also attended Lynnfield College in McMinnville, OR. Mr. Parker worked as a shipwright at Bellingham Ship Yards during WWII and drove for Darigold for many years. He also worked for Lind Gravel and was a member of Teamsters Local No. 231. For the past 5 years he had lived in Wellton, Arizona. He is survived by 1 son, John and wife Anna Parker of Bellingham; 1 brother, Charles and wife Dorothy Parker of Lynden; 2 grandsons, David and wife Mary Parker of Bellingham and Douglas Parker of Bellevue; 3 granddaughters, Linda Smith and husband Doug, Jayne Jurado and husband Jose, all of Bellingham and Susan Pagels and husband Steve of Ferndale; 5 great-grandchildren. PARKER, Wayne T., 62, Snohomish, died Saturday (March 17, 1984) in Everett. He was born August 10, 1921, in Grand Junction, Colo., and was a resident of Whatcom County until moving to Snohomish 20 years ago. He was a World War II veteran in the U.S. Marine Corps, and was a member of the Production Workers Local 1054 in Everett. He is survived by his wife Cleo M. Parker of Snohomish; one step-son Gerald "Ken" and wife Susan Olson of Marysville; one son Richard and wife Vi Parker of Seattle; one daughter Ellen and husband Gerald Gonyea in Michigan; on brother Ralph and wife Mona Parker in Ohio; a brother-in-law Bill and wife Carol VanderYacht of Deming; one sister Mildred Nickols in Colorado; one sister-in-law Vera VanderYacht of Deming; and three grandchildren Rhonda, Ty and Jennifer; numerous nieces and nephews. PARKHURST, Florence, age 89 of 1817 Knox Ave. passed away Sunday, Feb. 11, (1962) following an extended illness. Mrs (sic). Parkhurst had resided in Bellingham for the ast 8 years and was a former resident of Friday Harbor. She was a retired teacher. She leaves to survive a cousin, Mrs. Annie L. Loomis of Winthrop, Mass. PARKHURST, Margaret M. - A service for Margaret Marie Erchinger Parkhurst will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Christ the King Church. Burial was in Greenacres Memorial Park. Mrs. Parkhursst died of cancer Wednesday, April 28, 1999. She was 55. Born May 31, 1943 to Adolph J. and Mary Erchinger in Port Townsend, she graduated with honors from Bellingham High School in 1961. She attended Cottey College in Columbia, MO, for two years and was chosen queen of the Wentworth Military Academy Ball in 1962. She graduated from Western Washington University with a degree in education. Mrs. Parkhurst taught in several schools, including Indian schools on the Yukon River in Alaska and in refugee camps in Hong Kong, in Christian education in Bellingham and California and as a missionary educator with Youth With A Mission (YWAM) in Hawaii. She also worked on curriculum development at YWAM University. A person of strong Christian faith, she traveled extensively throughout Europe, Asia and Australia. Survivors include son Christian Parkhurst of Bellingham; her father of Bellingham; brother Rudolph Erchinger of Bellingham; sister Carol VanZanden of Oak Harbor; caregiver and close friend Kimberly Elke of Bellingham; and many nieces and nephews. Arrangements are by Jones-Moles Funeral Home.

PARKINSON, George Wallace - Funeral services for G. Wallace Parkinson, age 70, former Lynden area resident, were conducted on Tuesday, September 15, at 1:30 p.m. in the Chapel of the Gillies Funeral Home with Rev. Thomas Carlson officiating. Burial followed in Lynden Cemetery. Born in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin on August 25, 1911, Mr. Parkinson, of 1431 Rockefeller, Everett, died in a Seattle hospital on Saturday, September 12, (1981). He came to the Lynden area in 1925 and for twenty-five years had owned and operated the Recreation Tavern prior to moving to Everett in 1956. He had been employed as a custodian for the Everett School District and was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Beaver Dam and was also a charter member of the Lynden Camel's Club. He was married to Thelma Schelin in Everett on February 22, 1936. He is survived by his wife Thelma; two sons, Lynn and wife Kitsie of Oregon City, Oregon and Gregory of Medford, Oregon; and two granddaughters, Meggan and Kendra Parkinson.

PARKINSON, Thelma G. - Memorial services for Thelma G. Parkinson will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 21, at Lynden United Methodist Church. Mrs. Parkinson died Jan. 23, 1988, in Gladstone Convalescent Center, Gladstone, Ore. She was born in Vancouver, B.C. in 1914, and graduated from Lynden High School. She made her home for many yeas in Lynden where her husband, Wallace, operated the Recreation Tavern. In 1956, Mrs. Parkinson moved with her family to Everett. Mrs. Parkinson moved to Oregon 7 years ago following the death of her husband. She is survived by two sons, S. Lynn of Portland, Ore., and Greg W. of Salem, Ore.; and 2 grandchildren, Meggan and Kendra of Oregon City, Ore.

PARKS, Douglas N. - A memorial service for Douglas N. Parks, 64, of 7890 Crockett, Blaine, will be at 3 p.m. Saturday in Moles Funeral home Chapel, 2039 Main St., Ferndale. Chaplain Otto Zylstra will officiate. Mr. Parks died Sunday, March 1, 1992, in Seattle. He was born March 21, 1927, in Los Angeles, Calif., to Lyle and Edna Bryan Parks. He was a seven-year resident of Blaine, having previously lived in Waterville and other towns in Washington. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans of Seattle. He married Nancy E. Osborn on April 1, 1986, in Custer. She survives him at the family home. Other survivors include two daughters in the Seattle area, sons Danny Parks of Buckley, and Erin Parks, Brad Parks, and Clifford Parks, all of Kent, step-daughter Judy Vermillion of Blaine, 16 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. PARKS, Glen M., age 82 of Libby, MT passed away Sat. June 24, 1989. He was born April 30, 1907 in Idaho & moved to this area in 1988. PARKS, Lowell F. "Sonny" a former Bellingham resident died May 7, 1992 in Mount Vernon following an extended illness. He was born in Missouri on Feb. 21, 1940 the son of William & Dorothy Parks. He came to Lynden in 1952 where he was raised. He married Sharon Finsrud in Everson in 1972. He worked at Cedarville Shake Mill in Everson for many years. In 1979 he moved to Sedro Woolley. He is survived by wife Sharon and 2 sons, Mike and Jason Parks of Sedro Woolley; father, Willie Parks in Missouri; parents-in-law, Thorie & Sylvia Finsrud of Everson; sister, Betty Est, Carnation and numerous aunts, uncles and nephews. Cremation was under direction of Lemley Chapel. Memorial services will be held at the Lemley Chapel, Sedro Woolley, Saturday May 9, 1992 at 2:00 p.m.
