PABLO, Steven Brian, age 21, 1330 Birch St., Bellingham, passed away January 24, 1991. Born August 19, 1969 in Duluth, Minnesota, he was a Whatcom County resident since 1977; attended University of Washington and Whatcom Community College; member of Church of the Assumption. PABST, August, 2410 Chuckanut Shore Road, age 86, passed away Sunday, November 27, (1966). Mr. Pabst was a fifteen year resident of Bellingham, formerly a long time resident of Springfield, Illinois. He was a member of First Church of Christ scientist of Bellingham, and of the Mother Church in Boston, and had served as First Reader in Joliet, Illinois. He was a fifty-year Mason, also 32nd degree Mason, member of the Shrine, retaining his affiliation with Ansar Shrine in Springfield, and was a member of Bellingham Bay Lodge No. 44, F.&A.M. Survivors include his wife Bertha; a son, Paul Pabst in Columbia, S.C.; daughters Mrs. Louise McLaughlin of Bellingham; Mrs. Dorothy McKinnie of Carnation and Mrs. Betty Thirsk of Seattle. A son, August, and daughter, Dr. Marie Bertha Pabst of Western Washington College Science Department, preceded him in death. There are twelve grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Mr. and Mrs. Pabst had marked their fifty-eighth anniversary. Private Christian Science services will be read Tuesday November 29 at 1:00 p.m. at the Jones Funeral Home, followed by interment in Greenacres Memorial Park.

PABST, Marie B., age 53, of 2410 Chuckanut Shore Road passed away at home Thursday, Feb/ 7, (1963). Miss Pabst was a teacher at Western Washington State College, Ph.D. - Paleontology. She had resided in Bellingham the past 16 years and was a member of the First Church of Christ Scientists, and the Mother Church of Boston. Miss Pabst was a member of the American University Professors, the American Association of geology Teachers, the National Science Society and a veteran of World War II, having served as a lieutenant in the U.S. Navy. Surviving are her parents, Mr. and Mrs. August Pabst, at home; one brother, Paul of Columbia, S.C.; three sisters, Mrs. Louise McLaughlin of this city, Mrs. Dorothy McKinnie of Arlington, Wash., and Mrs. Betty Thirsk of Seattle; 12 nieces and nephews. Private services were conducted at the Jones Funeral Home, Friday, Feb. 8, followed by burial at Greenacres Memorial Park.

PACE, Alberta M. age 97, 1390 Meridian Rd., Bellingham, passed away in a local rest home Tuesday, December 7, (1965). A resident of Whatcom County since 1906 she made her home in Bellingham for the past 40 years. She was a member of the First Church of Christ Scientist. Surviving are 3 sons; D. J. Pace of Lynden, Walter Pace of Ferndale, Lynn Pace of Ogden, Utah, 2 daughters Mrs. Alta Schuyler of Bellingham and Mrs. Ada Slade of Boice, Idaho. Also 16 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at the Gillies Funeral Home Friday, December 10 at 2:00 p.m. with Mrs. Ida Bodiker, reader. Burial will follow in the Lynden Cemetery.

PACE, Andrew L., age 44 years, of 515 Irving Street, passed away at his home Friday, Aug. 12, (1955) following an extended illness. Mr. Pace had been a resident of Bellingham for the past 30 years and was a member of the A. F. of L. International Brotherhood of Papermakers Local 309. He is survived by his mother, Mrs. Mary E. Getz, at home; one brother, William Pace, Seattle; his stepfather, E. Getz; two sisters, Judy Ann and Eileen, all at home; and many other relations. Funeral services will be conducted Monday, Aug. 15, at 10 a.m. within the Cathedral Chapel of the Westford Funeral Home, with the Rev. W. Robert Webb, Rector of St. Paul's Episcopal Church officiating. Interment Woodlawn.

PACE, Beatrice E., 74, Ferndale, died today (May 23, 1975). Mrs. Pace, a 52-year resident of Whatcom County, was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and Women of the Moose. She is survived by her husband Walter; three daughters, Judith Reiber of Bellingham; Gladys Thompson in Virginia; and Evelyn Ireland in Idaho; two sons, Allen of Underwood and Eugene of Renton, and three sisters, Leora Hope of Bellingham and Margaret Green and Florence Mason, both in California. Services are pending at Westford Funeral Home.

PACE, Donald J., 95, of Lynden passed away Saturday, March 13, 1993. He was born July 24, 1897 in Hammond, Wis. to Frank and Alberta Delamater Pace. Mr. Pace had been a Whatcom County resident for 89 years. He graduated from Lynden High School in 1916; and received a degree in dairy husbandry from Washington State University in 1922. Sept. 6, 1924 he married Lydia Petroff in Kodiak, Alaska. He was a member of Ten Mile Grange, where he served as master for a year. Worked for Darigold in Lynden for 15 years, worked many years in the grocery business and retired from Lynden IGA in the 1970s. He was a member of the Christian Science Church in Lynden. He is survived by his wife Lydia of the family home; daughter Jean Lawrenson of Burlington; two nephews, David Bostrom of Burlington and Leslie Bostrom of Bellingham and one niece, Arlene Ball of Bellingham, whom they raised following their mother's death in 1944; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. At his request, private family services will be held. Arrangements were made by Greenacres Funeral Home.

PACE, Franklin W., age 70 of 2637 Woburn St., passed away in a local hospital, Dec. 11, (1958). Mr. Pace was a retired printer and had resided in Bellingham the past 24 years. Surviving are the widow, Glada E. at home; two sons, Franklin E. of Bellingham and B. Gordon of Seattle; one daughter, Mrs. Jean Ellis of Castle Rock; 13 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter; two sister, Mrs. Daisy Joy of Sumas and Mrs. Blanche Christensen of Eugene, Ore.; one brother, Charles of Nebraska. PACE, Lotty Hattie, age 86 of Bellingham, passed away on Thursday, November 24, 2005. She was born September 26, 1919, in Trinidad, Colorado. She was a long-time member of the Bellingham Emblem Club 489. She was preceded in death by her half-brother Orbin; half-sister Gertie; and brothers Tommy and Warren. Lotty is survived by her husband John Pace; sons Paul (Roberta) Pace, Jack (Timi) Pace, all of Bellingham, John (Shirley) Pace of TX; grandchildren Ginger, John and Vernon, Jacquelyn and Paul, Richard and Deborah, Darren, Jaime and Jennifer; nieces Janette Smith, Jane Mains, Johanna Nicholson and Daphne Lindsay; and numerous great-grandchildren. A Family Gathering will be held at a later date.

PACE, Lydia, age 97, of Burlington, passed away Sun., March 23, 2003 in Burlington. She was born Dec. 25, 1905 in Hope, Alaska to Julius and Ann (Moonin) Palmer. Mrs. Pace lived in Whatcom County for 78 years before recently moving to Skagit County. She married Donald Pace on Sept. 6, 1924 in Kodiak, AK. Mrs. Pace was a 50 year member of Ten Mile Grange and served as one of the officers. She was a member of the Be of Service Club in Lynden and The Christian Science Church in Bellingham. She worked at St. Luke's Hospital as a seamstress. Survived by her daughter, Jean Lawrenson of Burlington; nephews, David Bostrom (Barbara) of Burlington and Leslie Bostrom (Linda) of Bellingham, and niece, Arlene Ball of Lynden, whom she and her husband raised following their mother's death in 1944; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and other relatives. PACE, Robert H., age 86 who resided on the Everson-Goshen Rd. passed away in a local hospital, Saturday, September 2, (1961) following a brief illness. Mr. Pace had resided in this area for the past 24 years and was a retired farmer. He leaves to survive, two sons, Thomas E. of Spokane, Robert H. of Ellensburg; one daughter, Mrs. Mary Brown of Republic, Wn.; 2 sisters, Mrs. Katherine La Gaunet of Tacoma and Mrs. Elizabeth Schot of Colville. Also 15 grandchildren. Rev. Norman B. Harrison will conduct funeral services on Wednesday, Sept. 6, at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of the Bingham & Jerns Funeral Home. interment, Woodlawn Cemetery.

PACE, Walter, 79, 1605 Main St., Ferndale, died Thursday (Jan. 14, 1982). Born Sept. 11, 1902 in Hammond, Wisc., he moved to Lynden in 1906. He was a 1921 graduate of Meridian High School. He married Beatrice Metzger, March 23, 1927 in Vancouver, B.C. and they made their home in Whatcom County. She died in 1975. Retired from Alaska Packers Association, he worked at Bellingham Shipyards during World War II. He had been active in Redeemer Lutheran Church and the Moose Lodge, where he was a past governor and treasurer. He is survived by two sons, three daughters, a brother, a sister, 14 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Westford Funeral Home, the Rev. Richard Husman officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.

PACE, Walter M. Jr., age 35, of 2409 Franklin St., passed away in a local hospital Wednesday, March 13, (1963). Mr. Pace had been a lifetime resident of Bellingham and was employed by Lind Fuel Co. He leaves to survive his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Walter A. Pace, Sr., of the home, two brothers, Allan of Anderson, Calif., Eugene of this city, three sisters, Mrs. Roger Blakeway of Lynden, Mrs. Roland Schencking of this city, Mrs. Jim Thompson of Bloomington, Minn., paternal grandmother, Mrs. Alberta Pace of this city. Funeral services will be conducted Monday, March 18 at 1:30 p.m. in the Chapel of the Westford Funeral Home, with Rev. Donald Swerdfeger officiating. Interment Woodlawn.

PACHECO, Anglea De La Luz, 3143 Hopewell Road, Everson, passed away at St. Joseph's Hospital on Aug. 18, 1993. She was 60. Born on Oct. 31, 1932 in Mexico, Mrs. Pacheco had been a county resident for the past two years. She was preceded by her husband, Euaristo Mendez, in 1971. She is survived by three sons, Manuel and Rafael Mendez of Everson and Angel Mendez of Lynden; two grandchildren; and a sister in Mexico. Besides her husband she was preceded by a grandson, Angel Mendez, in July of last year. Funeral services were conducted on Friday, in Third Christian Reformed Church in Lynden with Rev. Henry Numan officiating. Burial will be in Panteon Municipal Cemetery in Mexico. Services were under the care of Gillies Funeral Home in Lynden.

PACHECO, Augustine, Jr. "Chico" of Bellingham died Thursday, Aug. 14, 1997, at Sehome Park Care Center. He was 85. At his request, now service will be held. Born June 13, 1912, to Augustine Sr. and Mary Pacheco in East Falmouth, Mass., he lived in Bellingham for 29 years. Mr. Pacheco retired from a wood mill in Roseburg, Ore., in 1959. A 50-year member of the Moose Lodge, he also was a member of International Woodworkers of America Local 3-436 and American Federation of Labor Local 259. Mr. Pacheco enjoyed gardening. He married Gertrude Webster on Oct. 10, 1983, in Bellingham. She preceded him in death. Survivors include stepson Jack Webster of Bellingham and two stepdaughters of Roseburg. Arrangements are by Whatcom Cremation Association.

PACHECO, Frank A. - Private family services will be held later for Frank A. Pacheco, 74, of 4000 Flynn St., No. 70. He died Sunday at home. Mr. Pacheco was born on June 1, 1917, in Fall River, Mass. He married Bertha Araujo on June 1, 1940. The couple moved to Bellingham in 1968. He worked as a boat builder. Mr. Pacheco was a member of the Catholic Church. Survivors include his wife, Bertha Pacheco of the family home; three sons, Rocky Pacheco of Tacoma, Steve Pacheco of Bellingham and Frank Pacheco, who is serving in the U.S. Navy; two daughter, Janice McAfee of Anaheim, Calif., and Lisa Pacheco of Bellingham; 13 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews. PACK, Evelyn Batilda, age 73 of 2939 LaFayette St., Bellingham, passed away in a B'ham hospital Aug. 22, 1989. She was born April 17, 1916 in B'ham, and had been a lifetime resident. She had worked at Georgia Pacific, was a member of B'ham Golf & Country Club, enjoyed reading, photography, and especially her grandchildren. She married Harrid Pack in B'ham April 8, 1947. PACK, Walter L. - Services for Walter L. Pack, a 60-year resident of Bellingham and a retired laborer, will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at the Jones Funeral Home with the Rev. Oscar A. Olsen officiating. Cremation will follow. Mr. Pack died Tuesday. He was 83 years old. He is survived by his widow, Etta; two sons, Harrid and Earl Pack, both of Bellingham; two daughters, Mrs. Lota Moss of Thousand Oaks, Calif., and Mrs. Lucille Bender of LaPine, Ore.; a step-son, Bud Strahl of Bellingham; two step-daughters, Mrs. Elizabeth Patten and Mrs. Jean Florence, both of Bellingham; eight grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

PACKARD, Carrie Nettie, age 77, of 2521 Humboldt Street, passed away at her home Monday, December 10, (1951). Mrs. Packard had resided in Bellingham for the past 44 years and was a member of the Knox Community Church. She was also a member of the Royal Neighbors of America, Bellingham Camp 4705 and of the Bellingham Rebekah Lodge No. 43 for which she had been recorder for 50 years. Surviving relative include two sons, Dr. Lyle D. Packard, of Anacortes, and Gordon Packard, of Bellingham; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Radley, of Bronson, Mich., and Mrs. Emma Hudson, of Bellingham; two nephews, Charles M. Hudson, of Bellingham, and Ralph Radley, of Michigan, and two nieces, Mrs. Bonita Coates and Mrs. Roberta Jordan, both in Michigan. PACKARD, Charlie Edward, age 65 years, passed away in Port Angeles, Wash., Monday, June 9, (1947). Mr. Packard came to Whatcom County sixty-two years ago and was a life member of the Bellingham Aerie No. 31, F.O.E. He is survived by one brother, Harlet Packard, Galt, Calif., and one cousin, Charles Packard, Seattle, Wash. PACKARD, Francis - Former Bellingham resident Francis Packard, 84, of Riverside, Calif., died Saturday (June 15, 1991) in Bridgeport, Calif. Burial services will be in Riverside National Cemetery. Mr. Packard was born Oct. 21. 1906, in Washington state, and lived in Bellingham for 39 years before moving to Riverside two months ago to be with his son. He worked as a heavy equipment operator while living in Bellingham. Survivors include a son, Steven Packard of Riverside, Calif.; a daughter, Judith Blodgett of Hagerstown, Md.; and four granddaughters. Arrangements are by Bruce and Buck Mortuary of Bishop, Calif.

PACKARD, Gordon C., age 73, of Bellingham, died Thursday, April 26, 1984. He was a retired postal employee having served the system 30 years, was a World War II army air corp veteran, a life member of the Musicians Union and the Bellingham Elks. Surviving is a brother, Dr. L. D. and wife Doris Packard of Anacortes; cousins, Charles Hudson of Bellingham, Robert and Bunny Hudson of Bellingham and several cousins in Michigan. PACKARD, Lyle D. - Former Bellingham resident Lyle D. Packard, 94, of Anacortes, died Sunday, May 3, 1992, at his Cape Sante home. He was born April 26, 1898, to William and Carey Packard in Stevens Point, Wis. He was raised and attended school in Bellingham, graduating in 1914. He then joined the National Guard and later served in the U.S. Army during the remainder of World War I. After military service he attended the University of Washington school of engineering, but changed to the North Pacific College of Dentistry in Portland, Ore., where he graduated in 1924. Establishing his first practice in Burlington, he commuted on the Inter-urban from Bellingham. He relocated to Anacortes and practiced dentistry there for more than 50 years, retiring in 1981. He was a life member of the American Dental Association, Mount Baker Dental Society, and the Washington State Dental Society. He was a former master of Fidalgo Masonic Lodge 77, the Nile Temple, a former president of Rotary and recipient of the Paul Harris Award. He was a life member of Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks Lodge 1204 Anacortes. He was a charter member of the Anacortes Barbershop group, "The An-O-Cards." Survivors include his wife of 65 years Doris at the family home; and several nieces and nephews. The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday in Westminster Presbyterian Church, 1300 Ninth St., Anacortes. Burial will follow in Grandview Cemetery. Arrangements by Evans Funeral Chapel of Anacortes.

PACKER, George Washington of Everson died Sunday, April 3, 1994 at his home. He was 72. Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in Nooksack Cemetery with the Rev. Jeff Harrison officiating. Born Feb. 22, 1922, in Bellingham, Mr. Packer grew up in Whatcom County. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. He then lived in Los Angeles for 20 years where he was a construction worker. He moved to Portland, Ore., where he lived for 20 years before returning to Whatcom County in 1984. Mr. Packer was a member of Nooksack Valley Assembly of God Church. Survivors include sisters Frances Vadose of Everson and Alma McKnight of Portland; brother Mason C. Packer of Amarillo, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews. Arrangements by Gillies Funeral Home.

PACKER, Katie, age 77 years of Rt. 2, Everson passed away in a local hospital Thursday, June 23, (1960) following an extended illness. PACKER, Lawrence "Johnny" of Bellingham, WA, passed away on Sun., Aug. 19, 2001, in Bellingham. He was 87, born May 25, 1914, to Asa and Mary (Brewer) Packer in Pinedale, AZ. He resided in Bellingham for 58 years and was a member of the Bellingham Third Ward, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Johnny loved to fish, and he loved animals and kids. He always had a good sense of humor, and enjoyed having fun and telling jokes. He also enjoyed auctions and hunting. Johnny and Mollie loved traveling and eating out. He retired from Wilder Construction Co. in 1974. He was preceded in death by wife Mollie, daughter JoElla, son Gene, and son Eugene. Survivors include his son Larry and wife Roberta Thompson of Big Lake, AK numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren and sister Helen Black of Geronimo, AZ. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thurs., Aug. 23rd, at the Bellingham Third Ward, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on James St. Burial at Greenacres Memorial Park.

PACKER, Ray, 77, of route 2, Everson, died at his home Monday, August 14, (1950). Surviving relatives include his wife, Katie; three daughters, Mrs. Anna Swafford and Mrs. Frances Vadose, both of Portland, Ore., and Mrs. Helen Lacariere, of Los Angeles; three sons, William R., of Portland, George W., of Los Angeles, and Pfc. PACKER, William Sumner, aged 69 years, passed away at his home, 2521 Humboldt Street, Wednesday June 3, (1942). Mr. Packer had resided here the past thirty-five years and was a member of the Modern Woodmen of America and the Michigan Club. Surviving relatives are the widow, Carrie M. at home; two sons, Dr. Lyle D. Packer at Anacortes and Gordon C. in the U.S. Air Corps; one sister, Mrs. W. H. Barrington, Crystal Lake, Wis.; two half-sisters, Mrs. Eliza Testin in California, and Mrs. Bertha Favel, Oshkosh, Wis. The remains are at the funeral home of Harlow-Hollingsworth where services will be conducted by the Rev. Frank Scott, Friday, June 5, at 1:30 p.m. Final resting place, Woodlawn.

PACQUETTE, Joseph R., age 67, 8185 Stein Road, Custer, died at home July 22, 1990. He was born in New Haven, Conn. on Oct. 23, 1922. He married Florence Heay on September 16, 1982. Mr. Paquette (sic) has lived in Whatcom County since May, 1982, prior to that lived in Homer, Alaska. He was a member of American Legion and v.F.W. of Homer, AK, a former member of the B.P.O.E. Lodge in Home; a member of the American Radio Relay League, and was an active amateur "Ham" radio operator for over 50 years. He was a Radio Officer on an oil transport ship for Sun Oil for 6 years and worked for the U.S. Civil Service Commission in Alaska for 28 years. He retired March 30, 1970 as an electronic technician for the F.A.A. He received an honorable discharge after serving five years in the U.S. Army during WWII. He is survived by his wife, Florence Heay Paquette of the family home; 3 daughters, Shirlie Vale, Craig, AK, Victoria Demmert and Mary Rita Gray, both of Yukutat, AK; 6 grandchildren; 5 step-children, Molly Hastin, Florida, Lorna Heay, Susan Clark, Robert Heay, all of Port Orchard, WA, Audrey Burkhart, Lakewood, CO. Funeral services will be held Tues. July 24, 1:00 p.m. at Moles Funeral Chapel with Rev. Richard Wyanski officiating. Burial will be at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland. PADDEN, Abbie Lynn, 79, a resident of Bellingham for the past 35 years, died Sunday in local hospital following an extended illness. She was the wife of John V. Padden, 443 14th Street, Bellingham. They were married in 1911. Mrs. Padden was a 1904 graduate of Washington State Normal School here. She was a member of the Sacred Heart Church, the Altar Society and the Arch Diocesan Council of Catholic Women. In addition to her husband, John, Mrs. Padden is survived by one daughter, Miss Anne Mary Padden of Seattle; one son, John James Padden of Bellingham; one brother, Clarence C. Lynn, and two grandchildren. Rosary will be recited in the chapel of Bingham and Jerns Funeral Home tomorrow at 7:45 p.m. Requiem High Mass will be in Sacred Heart Church on Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. with Rev. Father Thomas R. PADDEN, William H. - A memorial service for William H. "Bill" Padden Jr. of Blaine will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at the International Cafe in Blaine. Mr. Padden of 749 C St. died Thursday, June 16, 1994, in Bellingham. He was 64. Born Jan. 14, 1930, to William Howard and Geneva Stinson Padden Sr. in Seattle, he was a long-time Whatcom County resident. He married Merle Flick on Feb. 11, 1973 in Blaine. Mr. Padden was an operating engineer in construction for 40 years and a member of the Operating Engineers Local No. 302. He served in the U.S. Army and the U.S. Navy in Korea. He great-grandfather, grandfather and father owned and operated the Lake Padden Mill. Mr. Padden was elected to the Blaine City Council last year and also was a member of the Blaine Planning Commission. Survivors include his wife of the family home; sons Patrick Padden of Idaho and Michael Padden of Colorado; stepson Tom Alexander Jr. of Blaine; daughters Joan Hayden and Pauline Boehm, both of Brush Prairie, and Christine Treakle of Colorado; stepdaughters Ramona Alexander of Blaine and Kathleen Davis of Portland, Ore.; sisters Anna Marie Fredricksen of Washington, Patricia Franklin and Helen Derrivan of Portland, Ore; seven grandsons; and two granddaughters. PADDOCK, Bernice J., age 85 of Lynden, passed away at home Thursday, March 24, (1960). PADGETT, William L. - Visitation for Whatcom County building contractor William L. Padgett will be from 9 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, and from 9 to 11 a.m. Friday in Jones-Moles Funeral Home, 322 E. Holly St. The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Friday in Cornwall Park Church of God. His ashes will be placed in Woodlawn Cemetery. The Rev. Ken Long will conduct the service. Mr. Padgett of 2812 Elm St., died Sunday, March 29, 1992. He was 66. He was born Sept. 28, 1925, in Mineola, Texas, to William L. and Ura Padgett. His military service was with the U.S. Navy during World War II and the Korean Conflict. Mr. Padgett began his career in the construction industry as a carpenter at Ross Dam where he was known as "Skagit Bill." He was well-known as a building contractor in Bellingham and Point Roberts for more than 30 years. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, traveling in his motor home, reading and cross-word puzzles. He was very fond of dogs. Mr. Padgett was a member of Albert J. Hamilton American Legion Post 7 and the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks Lodge 194. He was a former master of Whatcom Lodge 151, F&AM, and past patron of Maple Leaf Chapter 58, Order of Eastern Star. He was a Rainbow Dad for Bellingham Rainbow Assembly 17. He was a member of First Christian Church in Mineola, Texas.

PADILLA, Jason Steven, 15, of Gig Harbor died Aug. 11, 1992 from an accident in Cozumel, Mexico. Padilla was born July 3, 1977 in Bellingham. He enjoyed helping children and sports, especially wrestling, baseball and sailing. He had nearly completed a six-week missionary trip with a youth group from Lakebay Community Church, helping to build a church and ministering to young people in Mexico, when the accident occurred. He is survived by his parents, Randy and Tami Padilla, and brother Ryan, all of Gig Harbor; grandparents LeRoy and Betty Johnson of Lynden and Charles and Helen Laird of Republic; and numerous other relatives.

PADLO, Frank E., "Honey" age 84, of 2111 Ferndale Terrace, Ferndale, passed away at home Fri., April 25, (1986). He had been a Ferndale resident since moving out from Olean, New York with the Mobil Oil Corp in 1954 where he was employed as an insulator for 42 years. PADLO, Frank J., 46, a former Whatcom County resident, died suddenly Feb. 14, (1981) at his home in Inglewood, Calif. He had lived in Ferndale for four years before moving to California 19 years ago. He was a graduate of Western Washington University and was a teacher. He was an Army veteran and was active in Little League. He is survived by his wife, Vikki, a son, two step-daughters, his parents, Frank and Mary Padlo of Ferndale, and a sister and brother-in-law. PADLO, Mary T., age 83 of Ferndale, passed away June 23, 1988. She was born April 2, 1988. She was born April 2, 1905 in Tarnow, Poland. Mrs. Padlo with her husband Frank "Honey" came to Ferndale from Olean, N.Y., in 1954, as he was to work at the Mobil Refinery. He preceded her in death in April of 1986 as did a son Frank J. Padlo in 1981. She was one of 7 children born to John & Catherine Gdowski. Mrs. Padlo was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Ferndale; the Alter Society and of St. Joseph's Guild as well as she was a Eucharistic Minister of the Church. She was an original member of the Legion of Mary. Survivors include her daughter Anne Marie Oliver & husband John of Olympia; grandchildren, John Padlo of Inglewood, CA, Mary Helen, Annette, John, Mark & Greg Oliver of Olympia; numerous nieces, nephews & other relatives. PADOVAN, John - Services for John Padovan, 84, a veteran of World War II, will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Faith Lutheran Church, with the Rev. R. L. Christensen officiating. Mr. Padovan, 505 W. PADOVAN, Mario Giuseppe, age 82, of Bellingham, WA, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 22, 2007, with his wife and daughter by his side. He was born January 7, 1925, in Arsie, Italy, to Valentino and Assunta Padovan. He immigrated to Canada in 1951 where he met his wife Ena P. They were married on June 18, 1955, in Vancouver, B.C., Canada. Mario was the oldest of 5 siblings: Franco, Carlo, Maria Pia, and Gabriella. Mario and Ena had two children, Anita Goecke of Ferndale, WA and Stephen Padovan of Santa Rose, CA. Mario also leaves behind 4 grandchildren: Rachel, Derrick, Onjolie, and Danielle; nieces which include: Pierangela, Maria and Anna; and great-nieces: Chiara and Francesco. In 1960, Mario and Ena moved down to Cupertino, Calif where they lived for 30 years before retiring to Bellingham in 1991. Mario attended Foothill College where he received his AS Degree in Electronics in 1972. He worked as an Electronic Technician at Farinon Electric (which later became Harris Communications) for 30 years. Mario was a member of the Sons of Italy and Assumption Church where he sang in the Church Choir. He and his granddaughter, Danielle, became a fixture at the YMCA where he attended the Silver Sneakers Exercise classes. He loved taking the WTA bus around when he no longer drove later in life. He would always say to us that, if he didn't continue taking the bus, they would discontinue service. He loved going once a year to Manning Park where he enjoyed cross-country skiing with his daughter and grandchildren. He also had a joy for traveling and had an RV that was used quite extensively. He went back several times to his native Italy with his family and traveled all over the US, Mexico and Canada. His greatest love was soccer. He played, coached, and refereed soccer first with his son and later with his grandson. He attended all practices and games even in the pouring rain and wind at the Northwest Soccer Field when his grandson began playing soccer. A service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, July 27 in the Bayview Chapel at the funeral home (Lakeway & Woburn).

PADRNOS, Joseph R., 33, of 2135 23rd Place died of natural causes Sunday, Oct. 18, 1992. Mass of Christian burial was scheduled to be held this morning at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Rev. Steve Sallis officiating. Burial will be at Tucson Holy Hope Cemetery in Tucson, Ariz. Born Dec. 24, 1958, in Minneapolis, he was a four-years Bellingham resident. A graduate of Rice University in Houston, Mr. Padrnos was an engineer with Christenson Engineering Corp. He was an outdoorsman and enjoyed his family and friends. Survivors include his parents, Jim and Arlys Padrnos of Tucson; sisters Lynn Worsham of California, Laurie Conley of Marysville and Janie Grant of Texas; grandmother Glora Kelly of Minneapolis; and numerous nieces and nephews. PAEGLE, Edith Margaret, age 66, passed away at home on Friday, April 28, 2006. She was born in Darmstadt, Germany, May 19, 1938, to Joiner and Margareta Vollrath. Edith was preceded in death by her husband, George, and her parents. Edith is survived by her brother Kurt Vollrath, sons Rick (Shana) Wood, Randy Wood, Tom (Sherrie) Wood, Tim Wood, Robert (Jeanine) Paegle, and numerous grandchildren. Edith married Warren Wood in Darmstadt, Germany on January 11, 1958, and became a US citizen on August 4, 1974. She married George Paegle on June 11, 1984. Edith worked hard for many years in local restaurants and the Ferndale Bakery. She enjoyed being surrounded by her family and friends, gardening, knitting, sewing, music, dancing and, most of all, cooking and playing Bingo. She loved to travel and often traveled to Hawaii and Germany. Edith was a member of the Heimatkreis German club since 1968. She touched the lives of many people and will be greatly missed. A memorial service will be at New Life Assembly, Ferndale, on Wednesday, May 10, at 2 p.m.

PAEGLE, Patrick, 24, 5863 Vista Drive, Ferndale, died Monday (June 17, 1985) at Virginia Mason Hospital in Seattle. He wasborn Dec. 25, 1960 at Bingen/Rhine, West Germany, and was a Ferndale resident since 1966. A 1979 graduate of Ferndale High School, he was employed at Intalco Aluminum Corp. He attended St. Joseph Catholic Church in Ferndale and was a member of the National Rifle Association. Mr. Paegle was the son of Marguerite Paegle of Ferndale and George Paegle of Gooseberry Point. Other survivors include his fiancee, Laurel Taylor, of Ferndale; a grandmother, Frances Hauser, of West Germany; his stepmother, Edith Paegle, of Gooseberry Point; two brothers, Robert Paegle of Ferndale and George Hasenbeck, of Seattle. A Mass of Christian burial will be said at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph Catholic Church with the Rev. David Borbridge as celebrant. Burial will be in Enterprise Cemetery. PAEPKE, August, age 80, a resident of Bellingham, passed away in a local hospital Saturday, May 19, (1951) following a short illness. Mr. Paepke had been a resident of Bellingham for the past year, coming from Rice Lake, Wis. Surviving relatives include two daughters at Rice Lake, Wis.; one sister, Pauline Kickhafer, Bellingham, and many other relatives. Services were conducted within the Cathedral Chapel of the Westford-Beck Funeral Home Tuesday, May 22, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. E. R. Butenshon, pastor of St. John's Lutheran Church officiating. PAGANO, Mario - Private family services will be held for Mario Pagano, 93, who owned and operated a truck garden on Meador Avenue for many years. Mr. Pagano died Sunday (June 25, 1989) at Sehome Park Care Center. He was born March 1, 1896, in Italy and moved to Bellingham in 1913. He married Marie "Mary" Tauivalla on March 27, 1925 in Vancouver, B.C. She died in 1979. He lived most of his life in Bellingham, with the exception of six years in Renton. Survivors include a son, Mario Pagano of Burlington; a grandson; two granddaughters; three great-grandchildren; and numerous relatives in Italy. Arrangements are by the Hawthorne Funeral Chapel in Mount Vernon.

PAGANO, Mary, age 82 of Renton, passed away May 1, (1978) at Highlands Convalescent Center. Born in Italy, she came to Vancouver, B.C. in 1925 and moved to Bellingham, Wash. and lived there until coming to Renton in 1975. Born Sept. 24, 1894, in Sidnaw, Mich., she came to Bellingham in May 1909 and married Robert L. Page in August 1916. Mr. Page died before her. She was a former president of the VFW Auxiliary of Bellingham and a member of Garden Street Methodist Church, Sehome Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star, the Salvation Army Home League, Navy Mothers, United Commercial Travellers, Bellingham Senior Center and Whatcom County Women's Democratic Club. She is survived by a son, Bill Page of Lynnwood; a daughter, Joyce Jesse of Concord, Calif.; eight grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

PAGE, Harold Franklin, 80 2913 Moore St., Bellingham, died Thursday (Jan. 2, 1986) at his home. He was born Jan. 24, 1905, in Los Angeles, Calif., and moved to Bellingham two and a half years ago. Mr. Page was a retired engineer who spent most of his career in California. He was especially fond of growing fruit and vegetables in his garden. He was a member of Jehovah's Witnesses South Congregation in Bellingham. Surviving are his wife, Pearl, whom he married in 1976; three daughters; 23 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. No immediate services are planned. A memorial service will be held later. Arrangements are being handled by the Whatcom Cremation Association.

PAGE, Helen E., age 70 of Ferndale died Friday, Dec. 16, (1988) in Bellingham. She was born February 11, 1918 in Nekoosa, Wisconsin & was a resident of Ferndale for the past 8 years. Prior to that she had lived in Seattle. She is preceded in death by her husband, Milton E. Page. Survivors include 3 sons, Steve Page of Ferndale, David & Harvey Page of Seattle; 1 grandson, Andrew Page, also of Seattle; & numerous other relatives. PAGE, Joel of Lewisville, Texas, the maternal grandson of Harry and Dolores Patterson of Bellingham, died May 27, (1986) in Lewisville Memorial Hospital, the same day he was born. He was the infant son of Rodney and Rebecca Ann Page of Lewisville. Other survivors are a twin brother, Micah Page, and paternal grandparents in Utah. PAGE, Pearl Gladys - A memorial service for Pearl Gladys (Green) Kanz Page of Elbe, formerly of Bellingham, will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, with Richard Pike officiating. Mrs. Page died Saturday, Sept. 5, 1999, at Providence-St. Peters Hospital in Lacey. She was 80. Born Oct. 31, 1918, to Katherine and William Green in Spring Lake, Minn., she was a Bellingham resident from 1984 to 1991. On July 8, 1936, she married Peter H. Kanz in Grand Rapid, Minn. He died in 1967. In 1976 she married Harold Page. He died in 1985. Mrs. Page was a member of Jehovah's Witnesses for more than 40 years. Her hobbies included fly fishing and gardening. Her daughter Rose M. Latta preceded her in death. Survivors include sons Earl W. Kanz of Bellingham and James R. Kanz of Mobile, Ala. daughters Beverly E. Arnold of Tacoma and Judith A. Day of Elbe brother Earl Green of Wapato 24 grandchildren 16 great-grandchildren one great great-grandchild.

Mr. Page owned & operated Page & Snyder Service Station and had been employed as Chief Deputy Assessor, Whatcom County Assessors Office. PAGEL, Gladys, a 20-year Bellingham resident died July 3, (1986) at a Bellingham hospital. She was 87. Services were conducted July 9 in Reeder, N.D. Mrs. Pagel was born March 3, 1899, in Harmony, Minn. and moved with her family to the Reeder community in 1908. She married Henry Pagel on Jan. 24, 1917. He died in 1964. Mrs. Pages was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Reeder, N.D. Survivors include two son, Harmon, of Bellingham and Owen, of Omaha, Neb.; two daughters, Marion Knight, of Park City, Mont., and Lorraine Stephenson, of Ontario, Ore.; a brother, Leslie Hanson, of Spokane; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, and nephews and cousins.

PAGEL, Harmon H., age 83, of Bellingham, died Monday, June 10th, (2002) in Bellingham. He was born April 11, 1919 in Reeder, ND to Henry and Gladys (Hanson) Pagel and was a proud resident of Whatcom County since 1954. He married Beryl Iverson on June 3, 1940 in Montana. Mr. Pagel was a W.W.II veteran of the U.S. Army and was employed by Mobil Refinery in Ferndale from 1954 until his retirement in 1984. He was a member of Ferndale Lodge #264, F.&A.M., Nile Temple and Albert J. Hamilton Post #7, American Legion. He is survived by his wife Beryl of the family home son Dick Pagel and wife Norma of Olalla, WA, daughter LaVonne Gulickson and husband Dan of Wiesbaden, Germany, sister Lorraine Stephenson of Hettinger, ND, five grandchildren and one great- grandchild. Visitation will be held Thursday from 1:00 to 7:00 p.m. and Friday from 9:00 a.m. until service time at 1:00 p.m. in Greenacres Funeral Home Chapel. PAGLIA, Joseph Paul of Renton, a long time resident of Everett, died Jan. 6th, (1985) at his home of natural causes. He was born June 3, 1911 in Black Diamond, WA & was raised there. He attended & graduated from Bellarmine High school in Tacoma & attended Satan Clara college from 1931-35. He was an All American football player there. He coached & taught at St. Martins College, Olympia. He moved to Everett & operated a cocktail lounge & card room & later in Anacortes & Bellingham. He was also a broker for the Seagrams Distillery. He lived in Renton a number of years. He was a member of the Renton Eagles, Eagles 21 Club & lifetime member of the Everett Elks. Survivors include 1 son, Raymond of Kent; 1 daughter, Marie Paglia of Bellevue; a brother, August Paglia of Everett; a sister, Ellina Parks of Seattle. PAGLIA, Rosemary Helen, age 69, of Bellingham, died Friday, December 31, 1993 at her residence. She was born September 8, 1924 to Thomas and Marie Blaney in St. Louis, Missouri. Rosemary was office manager in the Housing Dept. at WWU for twenty years, retiring in 1990. She was a member of Assumption Church, Catholic Daughters of America, Shalom House of WWU and devoted her time to working at the St. Joseph Hospital Gift Shop. Rosemary is survived by her son Ray A. and wife Janelle Paglia of Kent; her daughter Marie and husband Marty Youngren of Auburn; and grandchildren, Joseph and Shannon Palkia and Nico Youngren. PAINE, Don Blaine, 62, of Boe (sic), died Thursday, Sept. 29, (1988) at home. He was born July 29, 1926, in Kennebec, SD, son of James & Clare Paine. In 1936 he moved with his family to Sunnyside, WA & to North Bend in 1941. Don joined the U.S. Navy in 1942 & served until 1962 during World War II, the Korean Conflict, & the beginning of Vietnam. Much of his time was spent in the South Pacific & Europe. He married Agnes Delores Heller, June 6, 1959, in Snoqualmie, WA, she preceded him in death in 1984. They moved to Skagit County in the early 1960's, settling in Boe (sic) in 1962 where he has resided since. Don joined the Skagit County Sheriff's Dept., in 1963 & served until Feb. 1, 1983, when retiring. Don was a member of VFW 933, past Commander, past District Commander & National Aide-DeCamp. Loyal order of the Moose No. 1640, Washington State Law Enforcement Association. Don has served many volunteer hours for the VFW, calling Bingo for over 10 years. Last year he held 6 offices between local, district, state & national. He is survived by 1 son, Russell Paine of Burlington; 2 daughters, Kathy Lou Paine of Anchorage, AK & Rebecca Paine of Edmonds. PAINE, Francis Brooks of Honolulu died Friday, Nov. 12, 1993, in Hawaii. Services were held Sunday in Honolulu. She was 72. Born Oct. 7, 1921, to Frank N. and Francis (Carver) Brooks in Bellingham, she graduated from Bellingham High school and attended the University of Washington. In 1954, she moved to Hawaii, where she married Robert Paine two years later. Survivors include her husband of the family home; daughters Margaret Kerney of Oak Harbor and Dorothy Halpin of Oakwood, Ohio; sons Robert Brooks of Seattle and Edward Paine of Honolulu; brother Frank C. "Jim" Brooks of Bellingham; and nieces Mary Brooks Ferlin of Bellingham and Carol Brooks Steen of Bellevue.

PAINE, William, age 72 years of 2225 Henry St., passed away suddenly at the family home Saturday, Sept. 5, (1953). PAIST, Ethel Margaret Langdon passed away on 5 Feb 1999 at Alderwood Convalescent Center at the age of 100. She was born in Bellingham, WA on 4 Jan 1899. She was a graduate of Bellingham Normal School and had taught school before her marriage to her first husband, Hiram (Lon) Langdon who died in 1957. Ethel was a member of Calvary Temple, AARP, an active charter member of the Senior Activity Center and affiliated with the Salvation Army Home League. She was preceded in death by her second husband, Ira Paist in 1981. Survivors include two daughters, Margaret Duvall of Port Townsend, WA and Virginia Farrier of Klamath Falls, OR; five grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. At her request there will be a private family graveside service with Pastor Howard Fosser of Grace Lutheran Church, Port Townsend, WA officiating. Inurnment will be at Greenacres Memorial Park. PAIST, Ira C., 92, of 409 York St., died Wednesday (Oct. 28, 1981). Born Feb. 12, 1889 at Ord, Neb., he had been a local resident for 51 years. He moved to Bellingham from Los Angeles, where he had managed a Safeway store. Prior to that, he was a stationmaster for Union Pacific Railroad in Omaha, Neb. He attended Calvary Temple. He is survived by his wife Ethel, a son, two grandchildren, a daughter-in-law two stepdaughters and numerous nieces and nephews. PAIZK, William - A memorial funeral service for Sumas resident William Paizk, ate 73, who died at his home in Sumas on Friday, August 3, 1990, will be announced at a later date. Mr. Paizk, 126 Mitchell St., Sumas, was born in New Haven, Conn., on March 25, 1917. During World WAr II he served in the U.S. Army. For more than 20 years he was a fireman/engineer for what is now the Burlington Northern Railroad, retiring in 1976. He moved to Whatcom County from Snohomish and in 1970 was married to Dorothy Wick; she passed away in 1978. He was a member of the Sumas American Legion Post #212; Stephen Holmes Morrison VFW Post #9301 of Lynden; Moose Lodge #493 of Bellingham and Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #2726 of Abbotsford, B.C. He is survived by three step-daughters, Jane Halbrook of Lynden, Judy Sudermann of Victoria, B.C., and Ann Napio of Clearbrook, B.C.; a step-son, John Hansen of Dawson Creek, Yukon Territory; and numerous step-grandchildren. PAKUSICH, Leone Louise, age 76, of 2479 Yew St. Rd., passed away Tues., Dec. 3, 1985 in Bellingham. She was born in Vaughn, WA, March 6, 1909. She moved to Bellingham shortly after and lived here most of her life. She spent most of her life involved with that she enjoyed most of all, the floral business. She had been a florist for 36 years owning Leone's Flowers & Bells and worked with her daughter at the Flower Basket. She was active in many local organizations including Pythian Sisters, VFW & Navy Mothers, an active doll maker and dressing dolls. She is survived by 1 son, Richard Bullene & wife Betty of Marble Mount, WA; 1 daughter, Mardelle Davison & husband Don of Bellingham; 6 grandchildren, Sherry Downard, Brad Davison & wife Barb, Lynn Davidson & wife Sue and Lori Davison all of Bellingham, Sheryl Franck & husband John of Marysville, Richard B. Bullene stationed with the U.S. Air Force in Iceland & his wife Kathy in Bellingham; 7 great-grandchildren, Michelle, Melissa, Melinda, Kristianna, Heather, Brea & Kara; numerous nieces & nephews. Services will be held Fri., Dec. 6th at 10:30 a.m. at the Jerns & LeVeck Funeral Chapel with Father John Langlitz officiating. Cremation will follow. Arrangements by Jerns & LeVeck.

PAKUSICH, Margaret, age 70 years, 1109 Thirteenth Street, passed away at a local hospital, Friday, April 22, after an illness of four weeks. Mrs. Pakusich had been a resident of Bellingham for the past thirty-nine years and was a member of the Church of the Sacred Heart and the Women's Catholic Order of Foresters. Surviving relatives include two sons, John and Peter Pakusich and one grandson, David Pakuisch, all of Bellingham; four sisters, Mrs. Tona David, Mrs. Keka Franett, Mrs. Madena David and Mrs. Maria Pattorini, all of Seattle; two brothers, one in Dalmatia and Frank Franich, of Seattle; also numerous nieces and nephews. The remains rest at the Bingham-Dahlquist & Jerns Funeral Home. Rosary will be said within the Church of the sacred Heart, Tuesday, April 26, at 7:30 p.m. Requiem mass will be celebrated for the repose of the soul at the church, Wednesday, April 27, at 9 a.m. with Rev. Father Peter Smyth officiating. Interment in Bay View Cemetery.

PAKUSICH, Nicholas R., age 47 years, passed away at the family residence, 1109 Thirteenth Street, suddenly Monday, January 5, (1948). Mr. Pakusich had been a resident of Bellingham all his life and was a machinist in the employ of the Skagit Steel at Sedro-Woolley. He was a member of the Sacred Heart Church and of the Machinists' Union, Local No. 1496. Surviving relatives include, his mother, Mrs. Margarita Pakusich; two brothers, Peter and John Joseph, also a nephew, John David, all of Bellingham. Rosary will be said within the Church of the Sacred Heart, Wednesday, January 7, at 7:30 p.m. Requiem mass will be celebrated for the repose of the soul Thursday, January 8, at 9 a.m. with Rev. Fr. Peter Smyth, celebrant. Interment will follow in Bay View Cemetery under the direction of the Bingham-Dahlquist & Jerns Funeral Home. Casketbearers will be Messrs. M. J. Evich, Joseph Vrane, Peter Acalin, Tony E. Mardesich, Frank Stanovich and Nick Constanti.

PAKUSICH, Peter "Packy," age 75 of Bellingham, passed away Wednesday, April 4, 1984 in a local hospital. Mr. Pakusich was a longtime fisherman in the Northwest and Alaskan waters. He is survived by his brother, John Pakusich; a nephew, David Pakusich and his wife Reynola. Rosary will be recited Sunday, April 8 7:00 p.m. in the Jerns & LeVeck Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, April 9, 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Father Patrick Ritter celebrant. Burial will follow at BayView Cemetery.
