MARLETT, John L., age 77, of 439 Vista Dr., Ferndale, passed away Wed. Aug. 21, (1974) in a local nursing home. Mr. Marlett had been a resident of Whatcom County for the past 2 years. Survivors include his wife, Eula of Ferndale. Family services were held. Cremation. Under the direction of the Jones Funeral Home.MARLETT, Olive Ann, age 81 years passed away at the family home, 1703 E. Maplewood, Monday evening, June 17, (1946). Mrs. Marlett had been a resident of this community for the past 25 years. She is survived by two sons, Robert E. Marlett, of Riverside, Calif.; John A. Marlett, of Manson, Wash.; three daughters, Mrs. Mary J. Burns of Gardena, Calif., Mrs. Josephine Senuty, of Bellingham, and Mrs. Lydia Emmerson, of Helena Falls, Oregon; one brother, Wesley Hardison, of Holton, Oregon, and one sister, Mrs. Leona Miller, of Stockton, Calif.; twenty-four grandchildren and twenty-three great-grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted from the Cathedral Chapel of the Westford-Beck Funeral Home, Thursday, June 20, at 3 p.m., with Rev. George Arthur of the First Advent Christian church officiating. Interment, Greenacres Memorial Park.
MARLOWE, John Marcus of Bellingham died Thursday, Aug. 11, 1994, at his home after an extended illness. He was 71. At his request, no funeral is scheduled. A gathering of friends and family will be held in Portland, Ore. Born Jan. 25, 1923, to Anita and Charles Marlowe in Portland, Mr. Marlowe graduated from high school there and entered the U.S. Marine Corps in 1942. He served with the Marines in World War II and in Korea in 1953, retiring as a master sergeant in 1959. After retiring, Mr. Marlowe attended the University of California and Golden Gate College. He began a career as an insurance professional with Safeco Insurance Co. in 1959 in Burlingame, Calif. He moved to Tacoma in 1963 and worked for Grange Insurance Association and then for GAB Business Services Inc. before semi-retiring in 1980. He married Lou E. Neupert in 1969 in Tacoma. He and his wife bought a home in Bellingham in 1990. Mr. Marlowe retired fully in April 1993. He was a member of Sonora Grange in Tuolumne County, California, and was the grange insurance agent for many years. He enjoyed boating, fishing, woodworking, reading and crossword puzzles. Survivors include his wife of the family home; son John Marlowe of Portland; daughter Mary Marlowe of Portland; step-daughters Judy Shipley of West Linn, Ore., and Pat Krenzke of Reedley, Calif.; step-sons Erich Neupert of Clovis, Calif., and Kurt Neupert of Hanford, Calif.; sister Alice Brin of Vancouver, Wash.; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and one niece.
MARMON, Beatrice Marie, age 73 of 409 York St., passed away Sunday, Aug. 26, (1979). Mrs. Marmon had been a resident of Bellingham for the past 56 years and leaves to survive her husband, Robert E. of the family home; 3 daughters, Elva Ramona Lynn Brengle of San Ramon, Calif., Janet Sanders of this city, Aldis Elaine Garland, Santa Anna, Calif.; 7 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, 1 sister, Gladys Butcher of Sequim, Wash., several nieces, nephews & other relatives. Funeral services will be conducted Tues., Aug. 28 at 2 p.m. at Woodlawn Cemetery, with Rev. Tim Lann officiating. Under the direction of the Westford Funeral Home.
MARMON, Belle C., age 67, 650 Findlay St., Seattle, passed away suddenly in that city Wednesday, December 23, (1964). Mrs. Marmon was a member of the Catholic Church and is survived by a step-daughter, Mrs. Virginia Moblo; 3 grandchildren, all of Bellingham and a sister-in-law, Mrs. Shirley Rasmussen of Grand Rapids, Minnesota. Requiem Mass will be offered Monday, December 28, at 9:30 a.m. within the Church of the Assumption. Interment Greenacres Memorial Park under the direction of the Westford Funeral Home.
MARMON, Hazel R., age 83, of 409 York St., Bellingham, passed away in a local health care center Sunday, March 16, (1986). Mrs. Marmon was active with the Old Time Fiddlers and Goshen Grange. She is survived by three sons, Jack Haehn and wife Bonnie, and Buck Haehn and wife Carol, all of Bellingham, and Bob Haehn and wife Pearl of Monroe; one daughter, Billie and husband Ray Sharp of Bellingham; three step-daughters, Aldis Garland, Janet Sanders, both of Bellingham, and Elva Brengle of California; one brother, Earl Hill of Kansas; one sister, Marie Burns of California; 12 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren. MARMON, Robert E., age 84 of 409 York Street, passed away Wednesday, October 3, 1984 in a local nursing home. Mr. Marmon had resided in Bellingham for the past 50 years and was a retired millworker. He had been a musician with the Square Notes, playing for nursing homes throughout the county. He was also a member of the Washington Old Time Fiddlers Assn. He is survived by his wife Hazel; 3 daughters, Aldis Garland, Bellingham; Janet Sanders, Bellingham; Elva Brengle of California; numerous grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, Loren of Caldwell, Idaho and Delbert of Idaho; 1 sister Opal Marmon. MAROE, Agnes P. - A family memorial service for former Bellingham resident Agnes P. Maroe, 81, will take place March 23 in Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Des Moines. Mrs. Maroe died Thursday (March 7, 1991) in Overlake Hospital in Bellevue. She was born Aug. 19, 1909, in Bellingham to Olaus and Oline Syre and lived in Whatcom County most of her life, moving to Bellevue last year. Mrs. Maroe enjoyed weekly bingo games in Bellingham and was a family care giver. She is survived by a daughter, JoAnn Richard of Bellevue; sisters Elenor Dawon of Burien and Helen Cox of Bellingham; a brother, Robert Syre of Bellingham; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Arrangements are under the direction of Green Funeral Home in Bellevue.
MAROE, Joseph R., age 72 of 2417 Moore St., passed away Fri. Sept. 7, 1979. Mr. Maroe was a retired carpenter and a lifetime resident of this community. He was a life member of B.P.O.E. Elks #194; B'ham Bay Lodge #44 F.&A.M.; Maple Leaf Chapter, O.E.S. #58; Senior citizens and the Carpenters Union Local #756. He is survived by his wife Agnes, 1 daughter Jo Ann Richards of Bellevue, Wa. 3 grandsons, private family services will be held at a later date. Cremation, Greenacres Crematorium. MAROE, Lillian Augusta, age 90, of 2417 Moore Street, passed away in a local hospital, Monday, Dec. 6, (1954). Mrs. Maroe had resided in this community for the past 55 years and was a member of the Garden Street Methodist Church. Surviving relatives include two sons, Joseph R. of Bellingham and Wilton of Olympia; one daughter, Mrs. Hazel M. Rose of San Leandro, Calif.; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. The remains rest at the funeral home of Harlow-Hollingsworth where services will be conducted by the Rev. Clarence J. Forsberg, Friday, Dec. 10, at 11 a.m. Final resting place Bay View.
MARQUAND, Fred J., 83, of 3304 Bennett Drive, a boatswain's mate in the U.S. Navy during World War II, died Friday (Oct. 21, 1988) in Bellingham. He was retired from the Bellingham Division of Georgia-Pacific Corp. Mr. Marquand was a member of Masonic Lodge No. 151. Survivors include his wife Carolyn of the family home; a son Jim Marquand; a daughter Jean Marquand of Solana Beach, Calif.; and two grandchildren. Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Birchwood Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Tim Lann officiating. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday in the Westford Funeral Chapel. She had been a resident of Bellingham since 1954, was a member of Bellingham Free Methodist Church and Washington State Registered Nurses Assoc.; a graduate of Everett Community College Registered Nurses Program in 1971, and a graduate of Bellingham High School Class of 1969. She is survived by her husband Jim of Bellingham; a daughter, Laura Jean of Bellingham; her parents, Glen & Helen Jean Hallman of Bellingham; 2 brothers, Rod & Jeff Hallman of Bellingham and a sister Gayle Hallman of Bellingham; her grandmother, Alma B. MARQUART, Charles Ernest, age 95, a Sedro Woolley resident died at his home Tues., March 20, 1984. He was born in Illinois on Jan. 31, 1889 & moved to Whatcom County with his father as a young boy. He was united in marriage to Nellie Ann Davis in Bellingham on July 3, 1912 & the couple resided near Sumas for over 35 years. They had been Skagit county resident for the past 30 years. He was employed as a mill worker for many of the cedar shake mills throughout Whatcom & Skagit Counties. He is survived by 3 sons, Alvin of Sedro Woolley, Wesley of Marysville, CA & Charles Jr. of B'ham; 7 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; 4 step grandchildren; & 1 step great grandchild. He was preceded in death by a son, Archie & by his wife Nellie in 1982. Arrangements by Lemley Funeral Chapel, Sedro Woolley.

Mrs. Marquette had been a resident in the community for many years and was a telephone operator. She leaves to survive 2 sisters, Mrs. G. E. Wegley of Tacoma, and Mrs. W. J. Hiber of Vancouver, Wash. MARQUIE, Leonard Joseph, age 74, of 722 N. Forest St., passed away Wed., Feb. 9, (1977). A resident of this community since 1947, Mr. Marquie was a member of Unity Church of Truth. He was a printing pressman for 50 years having been employed by Pioneer Printing Company. Marquis reportedly drowned after he fell from a dock in the harbor at Seldovia, on the southern Kenai Peninsula. He was born March 20, 1946 in Bellingham. Survivors include a son, James, and a daughter, Sheryl; his parents, the Rev. Walter and June Marquis of Mitchell, Ore.; a brother; and an aunt, Thelma Pritchett of Bellingham. Arrangements are pending with the Homer Funeral Home, Homer, Alaska.
MARR, Anna G., age 72, who resided in Port Angeles, Washington for the past eight years, passed way suddenly of a heart attack on Tuesday, October 4, (1955) at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Louise Warwick, with whom she made her home. Mrs. Marr was a member of Our Lady of Angels of May Church of Port Angeles; a member of the Altar Society, and the Legion of Mary. Prior to moving to Port Angeles, Mrs. Marr had been a resident of Bellingham since 1902, and had also resided at Laurel from 1908 to 1917. She leaves to survive, her son, Gilbert Marr, of Bellingham; three daughters, Mrs. Edith Hickey, of Lynden, Wash.; Mrs. Mabel Sansregret, of Michigan; Mrs. Louise Warwick, of Port Angeles; one sister, Mrs. Marie Smith, of Bellingham; 20 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren. The remains will be received by the Bingham-Dahlquist & Jerns Funeral Home on Thursday, October 6, where they will lie in state until Friday, October 7, at 10 a.m. when requiem high mass will be celebrated from the Church of the Assumption. Interment Woodlawn.
MARR, Benjamin F., age 84, of Ketchikan, Alaska, passed on January 31, (1962). Mr. Marr was born in Mt. Ayr, Iowa, and had been a resident of Blaine until 1910 when he moved to Alaska to make his home. He was a Spanish American War veteran. Surviving are his wife, Beatrice, in Alaska; one step-son, Mr. Bert Hastings, in Ketchikan, Alaska, and one sister, Mrs. Edna McElmon of Blaine. Funeral services will be conducted Monday, Feb. 5, at 2 p.m. in the McKinney Funeral Home with the Rev. Mack Farmer officiating. Concluding services and interment in the Haynie Cemetery.

MARR, Ronald F. "Squee," age 78, of 9465 Mt. Baker Hwy., died Thurs., Nov. 12, 1987. He was born Dec. 14, 1908 in Glidden, Wisconsin and moved to Glacier in 1938. He married Violet Robillard in 1929. Mr. Marr was a logger and mink rancher until his retirement in 1974. He had a great love for animals, hunting and fishing. Mr. Marr had been a resident of Bellingham for the past forty-four years and was a member of the Church of the Assumption. Surviving relatives include, beside the widow, one son, Gilbert Marr, Bellingham; three daughters, Mrs. Edith Hickey, Lynden, Mrs. Mabel Sansregret, Miami, Fla., and Mrs. Louise Warwick, of Port Angeles; eighteen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. The remains are resting at the Bingham-Dahlquist Funeral Home. Rosary will be said at the Church of the Assumption, Friday, December 13, at 7:30 p.m. Requiem mass will be celebrated for the repose of the soul at the church, Saturday, December 14, at 9 a.m. with Rt. MARR, Thomas Arthur - Bellingham native, Thomas Arthur Marr, 64, died Saturday (April 6, 1991) in a Seattle hospital after an extended illness. He was born in 1927 in Bellingham and graduated from Bellingham High School in 1944. He attended Washington State University after his discharge in 1945 from the U.S. Merchant Marines. After a short stint with a construction company in Alaska, he went to work as a longshoreman in 1963. He worked for Bellingham Stevedoring and Twin Harbor Stevedoring before retiring as a superintendent. In 1964 he married Joanne K. Blindheim in Hoquiam at the Saron Lutheran Church. He was a member of the Bellingham Yacht Club, the Aberdeen Elks, the Olympia Golf and Country Club, the Hoquiam Masonic Lodge 64, and Afifi Temple of the Shrine and Scottish Rite. Marr was a diverse and avid reader of newspapers, journals and technical books. He enjoyed his work and conversing with people. He is survived by his wife, Joanne; three sisters, Marcie Bianchi of Mount Vernon, Sarah Davis of Wilmington, N.C., and Sally Leland of Gainesville, Fla.; and one brother, Robert I. Marr of Bellingham. No funeral service will be held. Arrangements are by Coleman Mortuary in Hoquiam.
MARR, Violet L. - A funeral service for Violet L. (Robillard) Marr of Bellingham will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Greenacres Funeral Home near Ferndale, with the Rev. Jim Williams officiating. Mrs. Marr died Saturday, March 31, 2001, in Bellingham. She was 87. Mrs. Marr was born April 4, 1913, to Ed and Esther (Peletier) Robillard in Sturgeon Bay, Wis. In 1929, she married Ronald "Squee" F. Marr in Wisconsin and they moved to Glacier in 1938. They operated a mink ranch until 1974. She loved her pets, especially her cat "Punkin." She also loved traveling, fishing and gardening. Her husband died in 1987. Two sisters and one brother also died previously. Survivors include sons Jeffery and Douglas Marr, both of Bellingham, Jerry Marr of Deming and Dale Marr of Glacier; daughter Bonnie Naas of Bellingham; sister Donna Gore of Payson, Ariz.; 14 grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and many great-step-grandchildren.

He was born Aug. 5, 1912, in Portsmouth, England, to Denny and Emily Maude Marr. He moved to Vancouver, B.C., at the age of 11. He married Muriel Monkman of Nanton, Alberta, Canada, in 1936. She survives him at the family home. For many years Mr. Marr was an architect with MacMillan Bloedel in Vancouver. In 1955 he moved to Washington state where he continued as an architect, designing educational facilities. Mr. Marr was a gifted artist who enjoyed painting, sculpting, writing and reading. Other survivors include his son, Gary Vincent Marr of Seattle; daughters Bettyanne Berry of Ferndale, Lorraine Hardin of Tacoma and Deborah Prante of Mount Vernon; his sister Evelyn Oliver of Delta, B.C.; 12 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and many other relatives. A memorial service will be at noon Saturday at the home of Bruce and Bettyanne Berry, 6716 Vista Drive, Ferndale. Arrangements and cremation by Greenacres Funeral Home and Crematorium.
MARRIAN, Patrick, age 79 years, passed away at a local hospital, Tuesday, October 30, (1945) following an illness of two weeks. Mr. Marrian had lived at Deer Harbor, wash., for five years and had been with relatives in Bellingham the past two weeks. He is survived by one brother, Felix Marrian, Anacortes, Wash.; two sisters, Mrs. Alice Briggs, Seattle, Mrs. Elizabeth Day, Oakland, Calif.; one granddaughter, Mrs. Gladys Gawlon, Covington, Okla. Mr. Marriott had been a resident of this community for the past twenty years and was employed by the James Marriott Logging Co. Marriott, and had been a resident of this community for the past 35 years. Surviving relatives are one son, James Cavanaugh of Port Angeles; one daughter, Mrs. Myrtle Cleek of Oakland, Calif.; one grandson, Don Harris of Washington, D.C.; two great-grandchildren, and one sister, Mrs. Rena Moore of Seattle. Mr. Marriott had been a resident of Bellingham for the past fifty-one years and was a member of the Bellingham Bay Lodge No. 44, F.&A.M. Surviving relatives include his widow, Mrs. Emma Marriott; one sister, Mrs. Lena Ballamy, Cedar Springs, Ontario; three brothers, John, of Cedar Springs, Ont., Willard, of Alberta, Canada, and George, of Alger, Wash.; a step-son and step-daughter, James Cavanaugh, Port Angeles, Wash.; and Mrs. Myrtle Cleek, of San Francisco; numerous nieces and nephews, including James Marriott, of Bellingham. MARRIOTT, John T., 70, 4158 Ridgewood Ave., died Saturday (Jan. 24, 1987) in Bellingham. He was born Feb. 8, 1916, in Winnipeg, Manitoba, and had been a Bellingham resident since 1983. Mr. Marriott was a fighter pilot with the Royal Canadian Air Force during World War II. He retired from Butler Manufacturing Co. of St. Paul, Minn., in 1983. Survivors include his wife, Carol Marriott of the family home; a daughter, Adrienne Marriott of Toronto; two sons, Paul Marriott and Keith Marriott, both of St. Paul; a sister, Ruby Rommel of Garden Grove, Calif.; and three nephews. MARRON, James J. "Jim," age 74 of Ferndale, passed away Sat., Jan. 12, 1980. Mr. Marron came to Ferndale in 1954 from Olean, NY, is a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church and was a retired employee of The Mobile (sic) Oil Refinery and operated the Ferndale Taxi for the last 15 years. MARSELL, Liliah L. "Meme" of Bellingham, passed away Wednesday December 9, 1992 at home. She was 89. Mrs. Marsell was born April 5, 1903 to Albert Tennant and Adah Fox in Ashley, Wisconsin. She resided in the Bellingham area most of her life. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford A. Marsell on Feb. 19, 1986. Her mother, Adah Fox, who is 108 years old, still survives at a local nursing home. Mrs. Marsell has been one of the Jehovah's Witnesses for many years and enjoyed studying the Bible. She enjoyed gardening and had a special way with flowers and plants. She is survived by her children, David and wife Beverly Schuman; brother, Manley and wife Olive Fox; a sister in California; 6 grandchildren, Lynn and Wayne Dowd, Lorraine and Ronald Lembcke, Lesley and Barry Thorgeirson; 6 great-grandchildren, Melissa and Alex Casey, Brian and Sean Dowd, Travis and Ashley Lembcke; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins all of the Bellingham area. A graveside service will be held Tuesday at Crown Hill Cemetery in Seattle. His grandson, Robert Bennett, will officiate. Mr. Marsh was born in Modesto, Calif., April 3, 1911. He is the son of Percy Lawrence and Jamima Rogers Ostrom-Marsh. He graduated from Modesto Junior College, attended Fresno State College and was a civilian member of the Navy Communications Reserve for eight years. He married Mildred Robertson Aug. 16, 1936. The couple moved to Seattle where Mr. Marsh worked for the Austin Company for nine years. He retired after 30 years as a purchasing agent for Chris Berg Construction. He was an elder in the Trinity Methodist Church in Seattle. In 1990, Mr. Marsh moved to Whatcom County to be closer to his family. His wife died in 1986. He was well known by his CB call letters AA7CY. He was district commissioner for Boy Scouts, was involved in Sea Scouts and explorers and was an avid fisherman. Survivors include his son, Robert Marsh of Arlington; daughter, Marlene Bennett, of Custer; grandchildren Robert Bennett of Maine; Rick Marsh of Freeland; and great-grandson Devon Bennett of Maine. He was preceded in death by his wife, son Michael Marsh and brother William Marsh. Services are under the care of Gillies Funeral Home.

MARSH, James R. "Red", 69, formerly of 3208 Peabody St., Bellingham, died Wednesday (Dec. 18, 1985) in Bellingham. He was born Oct. 15, 1916, in Amherst, Mass., and had been a Bellingham resident since 1944. Mr. Marsh retired from the Bellingham School District in 1976 after 25 years as a bus driver. He also was a driver for various bus lines in the county. Mr. Marsh was an avid baseball fan and played with the Bellingham Bells in the mid-1940s. He was also a pitcher in the mid 1930s for a Boston Red Sox farm club on the east coast. He was manager of the Sunset Jackpot service station for six years. Survivors include his wife, Norma, of the family home; one daughter; three sons, including Robert R. Marsh and Douglas Marsh of Bellingham; a step-daughter, Harilyn Selle of Blaine; two stepsons; a brother; two sisters including Olive Rogers of Bellingham; 17 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Greenacres Funeral Chapel. James Martin Schafer, a grandson, of Golden Gate Baptist Seminary will officiate. Before moving to this area in 1968, he lived in Longview for many years. He was a member of American Legion Post No. 7 of Bellingham and B.P.O. Elks Lodge No. 194. Survivors include two sons, Gary A. Marsh of Bellingham and Kevin W. Marsh of Ferndale; a daughter, Karen M. Asbury of Longview; four sisters, Zola Cook of Aline, Okla., Helen Freeman of Enid, Okla., Aline Law of Bentonville, Ark., and Jadene Jack of Wichita, Kan.; six grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. MARSH, Lucinda, a resident of Sumas for the past 51 years, passed away Sunday, May 31, 1942 at the age of 87 years. MARSH, Robert Earley, Dr., a retired dentist and the son of early Bellingham fire chief John J. Marsh, died Saturday (Feb. 6, 1988) at his Salem, Ore. home. He was 80. Services were held Thursday in Portland. Dr. Marsh was born Feb. 28, 1907, in Bellingham, where he attended Assumption Grade School before studying at St. Martin's High School in Lacey and Columbia Preparatory School in Portland. He received his degree in dentistry in 1934 from North Pacific Dental College. Mr. Marsh's mother, Margaret Earley, was a daughter of Whatcom County pioneers Edward and Clara Earley. Survivors include his wife, Marjorie of Salem; a daughter, Mayo Marsh of San Carlos, Calif.; a son, Tim Marsh of Pullman; an aunt, Elva Earley Barr of Everett; and a grandchild.
MARSH, Ronald Cupples - Memorial services will be held in Nevada for Ronald Cupples Marsh, 55, of Hermiston, Ore. He was found dead in Ferndale Nov. 7, (1987). Marsh was born Aug. 8, 1932, in Reno, Nev. He was a contractor cable splicer for various telephone companies, and was working for Contel Inc. in Ferndale at the time of his death. He is survived by a son, Kevin C. Marsh, of Salem, Ore.; and a sister, Peggy Lanman, of Carson City, Nev. Cremation will be by Greenacres Memorial Park and Funeral Home, 5700 Northwest Road. Ashes will be buried at Masonic Memorial Gardens in Reno. Local arrangements were handled by Moles Funeral Home, 2039 Main St., Ferndale.
MARSH, Ruby Alice, age 80, of Route 1, Lynden, passed away at the home of her daughter, Wednesday, May 25, (1949) following a lingering illness. Mrs. Marsh had been a resident of Whatcom County for the past 31 years, and was a member of the United Brethren Church and the W.C.T.U. Surviving relatives include her husband, Fred A. Marsh; one daughter, Mrs. Paul H. Johansen of Rt. 1, Lynden; one sister, Mrs. Ed Hovey, of Hart, Michigan; two grandchildren, Paul A. Johansen, of Bellingham, and Mrs. Ruby Cruickshank, of Lynden; four great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted, Saturday, May 28, at 2 p.m. within the Cathedral Chapel of the Westford-Beck Funeral Home, with the Rev. Joe Tom Tate, pastor of the Advent Christian Church officiating. Interment in Greenacres Memorial Park.
MARSH, Thelma G., age 88, of 1200 Lincoln St. in B'ham, passed away at her home August 11, 1989. Mrs. Marsh was born in Mt. Vernon on February 2, 1901, and lived all her life in Whatcom Co., residing with her husband, James C. Marsh, at Pt. Roberts & Birch Bay until his death in 1968. She moved to B'ham in 1980. Mrs. Marsh is survived by one sister, Ellen I. Fieselman & husband Vernon of Ferndale; 2 brothers James W. Tincker & wife Elsie of B'ham & G. Edward Tinker (sic) of B'ham; 2 sisters-in-law, Mary E. Tincker of B'ham & Ethel Tincker of Blaine; nieces & nephews as follows: Marilyn Moritz, Nada Young, Donna Willard, Betty Nelson, Carol Heidal, James M. Tincker, Donald L. Baker, Greg Tinker (sic) & Oliver Bud Larson. Graveside services will be held Tuesday, August 15th at 1 p.m. at the Enterprise Cemetery in Ferndale with Rev. Oscar Lee officiating. MARSH, William Augustus, aged 83 years, passed away at a local hospital, Sunday, April 22, (1944) following a four months' illness. Mr. Marsh had lived in Bellingham for the past forty-five years and for many years was employed by the City Park Department. He was a member of the First Baptist Church. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Eva M. Marsh; one sister, Mrs. Mary E. Ingram and one nephew, Warren M. Ingram, both of Winter Park, Florida. His remains are at the Harlow-Hollingsworth Funeral Home where services will be conducted Wednesday, April 5, at 1:30 p.m., by Rev. C. Elroy Shikles. Interment, Woodlawn Cemetery.
MARSHALL, Anita, age 52, of Bellingham died Sunday, Feb. 19th, 1984. She was employed at St. Joseph's Hospital as a nurses aide for some 12 years, was a member of Assumption Catholic Church, was a past member of the St. Peters Circle & local PTAs. She was often a volunteer for the Heart Fund & enjoyed bowling. Surviving is her husband Ernest; 1 son, Matthew of Bellingham; a son Michael preceded her in death in 1979. Surviving are 2 daughters, Kristy Marshall of Bellingham, Mary & husband David Craker of Lynden; 2 sisters, Filomena Luschnat & Rose Phillips, both of Port Coquitlam, British Columbia; 1 grandchild, Hayley Craker; numerous nieces & nephews. MARSHALL, Beverly M. "Sam" age 60, of Bellingham, passed away Sat. Oct. 31, 1992. She was the first baby born in New York, NY on Jan. 1, 1932 to William and Eleanor Morell. She moved to Washington in 1988. She was raised in the entertainment world and loved to perform for all audiences. She enjoyed sewing sequins on clothing and do bead work, eating chinese food, going on cruises and loved to travel. Survived by two sons, Alban Wolff IV of Chino Hills, CA and Paul Marshall of Palm Desert, CA; a daughter, Stacy Wolff, Anchorage, Alaska; a brother, Robert Morell; a sister, Delores Libonati; and three grandchildren. MARSHALL, Carol B. of Bellingham, WA, passed away in Bellingham on Sunday, November 19, 2006. She was 87, born in New Buffalo, Mich., on September 9, 1919 to Fern (Cuthbert) and Guy Best. Carol grew up in Michigan and moved to the Northwest in 1944. She retired from Boeing. Carol was preceded in death by husband Anton John Seppi, who died in 1986, and her second husband Dick Marshall, who died in 2003. She was active in the Maple Valley Lions Club and enjoyed camping. She and first husband Anton were members of 1000 Trails Camping Group. After his death, she met Dick Marshall, her second husband, while camping with the Group. Carol loved her family, her children, grandchildren, and her Chihuahua "Cory." She is survived by her daughter Margaret Arnold of Cedar Rapids, OH; son Anton Guy Seppi of Everett; daughter Karen (Al) Callery of Bellingham; 8 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. At her request, there will be no service.

MARSHALL, Clarence Wesley, age 66 years, of 2518 Williams Street, passed away suddenly Thursday evening, November 22, (1951). MARSHALL, Dennis Clare, age 47, of Bellingham, WA, passed away Wednesday January 14, 2004 at home. Dennis was born May 22, 1956 in Bellingham to Bill Wesley and Jo Ann (Cook) Marshall. He was a life resident of Whatcom County, an avid fisherman and hunter, and had worked in the logging and commercial fishing industries. Dennis was a family man whose pride in life were his children. She was 79, born Nov. 17, 1924 in Bellingham to Vernon and Ella (Glen) Annette. Dolores had worked for Bellingham Cold Storage for 10 years. She also had been a riveter at Boeing, working on the wings of airplanes, and she picked ferns for many years. In her spare time, she worked in her flower gardens, where she was well known for the beautiful dahlias that she and her husband grew. A loving mother and grandmother, her grandkids will always remember her for the pies she would bake for them when they came to visit. Dolores was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Melanie Roper, and sister Mamie Franklin. MARSHALL, Jason Philip, 18, of Carson City, Nev. died Dec. 1, 1992. He was born March 18, 1974 in McCall, Idaho to Philip and Jean Garber Marshall. He lived for a period of time, including the last several summers, in Lynden, Everson and Sumas. He graduated from Carson High school in 1992 and was attending Western Nevada Community College. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Carson City. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and skier. He is survived by his parents, Philip and Jean Marshall, brother Jordan and sister Debi Olson, all of Carson City; grandmothers Eve Garber of Sun City, Ariz. and Edith Marshall of Caldwell, Idaho; and numerous other relatives. Private entombment was held at Walton's Carson Gardens in Carson City, which handled arrangements.
MARSHALL, John - Visitation for retired Georgia-Pacific Corp. general superintendent John Marshall will be from 10 a.m. to noon today and 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday in Jerns-LeVeck Funeral Chapel, 800 E. Sunset Drive. The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Monday in Lynden Methodist Church, 500 N. 14th St. The Rev. Joyce O'Connor will officiate. Burial will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Chelan. Mr. Marshall, 65, of 1626 Huntley Road, died Thursday, April 2, 1992, at his home after a long battle with lung disease. He was born Aug. 26, 1926, in Addy, Wash., to Wendell and Zeila Marshall. He attended public school in Manson, Wash. Following service in the U.S. Navy, Mr. Marshall worked as an engineering assistant with the Lake Chelan Soil Conservation District, as a miner at Holden, and owned an orchard near Manson. In 1958 he earned a chemical engineering degree from the University of Washington. For a short time he worked as a chemical engineer in Missouri, returning to Washington state where he spent the rest of his life.
He married Joyce Hilton. She survives him at the family home. Mr. Marshall worked for 27 years at Georgia-Pacific as production manager and general superintendent. During his career there Mr. Marshall was responsible for the purchase and operation of a chipping plant in Canada, and the purchase of land and construction of another plant, to provide a lasting source of wood pulp for the mill in Bellingham. He retired in 1988. A 32-year resident of Whatcom County, he lived for the past five years on Huntley Road where he realized a dream of owning a small orchard. He loved to garden, read, and enjoyed geography, history and the outdoors. He liked to hike and recently enjoyed the pursuit of wild mushrooms. Other survivors include his daughter Vanessa Sockolov of London, England, Georgia Garcia of Ferndale, and Caroline Yorkston of Bellingham; his sons John S. Marshall of Bellingham, and Arthur Marshall and Richard Marshall, both of Seattle; foster son Michael Marshall of Seattle; stepchildren Melissa Williams of Redmond, and Kim Gates and Rebecca Veroske, both of Everson; his brothers Robert Marshall of San Jose, Calif., and Donald Marshall of Chelan; his sister Phyllis McNulty of Cashmere; and 10 grandchildren. Arrangements are by Jerns-LeVeck Funeral Chapel and Crematorium.
MARSHALL, John A., age 69, of 2110 New Street, passed away in a local hospital Tuesday, Feb. 27, (1962). Mr. Marshall was a life resident, a retired teamster, and a member of Teamsters Union Local No. 231. Survivors are his widow, Lulu, at home; one brother, George Marshall, Portland, Ore.; one sister, Mrs. Sarah Kneelond, Seattle; nieces and nephews. The remains rest at the Jones Funeral Home where services will be conducted by Rev. George Ackley on Friday, March 2, at 10 a.m., following by cremation.
MARSHALL, John D., age 57, of Bremerton passed away March 1st, 1980. He was born Feb. 24, 1923 in B'ham. Graduated from B'ham High, came to Bremerton to play baseball for the Bremerton Blue Jackets. For 16 years he pitched in professional baseball. He was a member of Teamsters, local 589, and a truck driver for Ace Paving, Co. He was a member of the Gold Mt. Mens Club, the Rolling Hills Mens Golf Club, he coached the Dugout Tavern in fast pitch soft ball. He coached American Legion Baseball winning in his division for 3 years running. Loved golf and was a avid bowler. He was preceded in death by his wife Cecilia, Feb. 25, 1979. He is survived by 3 sons, Gordon in Huston, John in Bremerton and Charles in Bremerton, and a daughter Sandy Caudill in Tustin, Calif. 2 granddaughters, 1 grandson, 2 brothers Clarence of Simi Valley, Calif., and Ernest of B'ham. Funeral services will be held Wed. Mar. 6 at 11 a.m. at the Stone Chapel, in Poulsbo, Wa. Services under the direction of the Stone Chapel.

She was born Jan. 23, 1893, in South Dakota. She married George P. Marshall, a Bellingham resident, in 1928. Mrs. Marshall was a president of the Bellingham Eagles Auxiliary before she moved to Portland in 1942. She is survived by a niece. No services were held. Remains were inurned at the Lincoln Memorial Cemetery in Portland.
MARSHALL, Kay F., age 42, of 7115 Birch Bay Drive, Blaine, passed away at home Tuesday, June 8, (1976). She had been a resident of the Birch Bay area since 1968 and was employed at the Birch Bay Realty Co. Keith was born July 7, 1950 in Seattle, Washington to Russell and Ruth (Vickers) Marshall. He was an outdoorsman who enjoyed backpacking, fishing, and participating in sporting events. As a member of Northside Community Church. Keith lead and participated in Bible study and teaching. He was an excellent storyteller and often read aloud to his children and others. He was passionate about singing and was a member of the Lynden Chorale Society. Family was always most important to Keith. He was the world's greatest father to his sons Peter and Nathan and daughter Andrea. Keith is preceded in death by his coffee partner and father-in-law, John Sparman. He is survived by his wife, Terri Marshall; sons Peter Marshall and Nathan Marshall; daughter Andrea (Kyle) Manning; parents Russell and Ruth Marshall; mother-in-law Mildred Sparman; Brothers Jim, Brad, Brian and Wayne; sister Patricia, their spouses and numerous nieces and nephews. MARSHALL, Leona McClimans, a lifetime resident of Whatcom County, died at her Bellingham home on Saturday, July 27, 1996. She was 88. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Jones-Moles Funeral Home and from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Wednesday at Greenacres Funeral Home. A funeral will follow at 1 p.m. with Pastor Al Currier officiating. Burial will be in Greenacres Memorial Park. She was born in Everson on March 23, 1908, to Jason and Clara (Warriner) Adkinson, graduated from Maple Falls High School and attended Success Business College. She married Wallace McClimans on July 26, 1931. He preceded her in death in 1973. She married Dale Marshall on March 23, 1974, and he died in 1984. Mrs. Marshall was a legal secretary in Bellingham for 20 years. Survivors include daughter Myrna Barber of Bellingham; stepdaughter Chele Nickerson of Dowling Park, Fla.; stepson Gary Marshall of Portland, Maine; four grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, a step-great-granddaughter; brothers Burton Adkinson of Seattle and Beecher Adkinson of St. George, Utah; three sisters, Faye Dorr of Bellingham, Vivienne Ellyson of Lynden and Clarice Rapelyea of Everett; numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by a son, Douglas McClimans.

MARSHALL, Marjorie B. - A memorial service for Marjorie B. Marshall, formerly of Bellingham, will be at 1:30 p.m. next Saturday at Island View Apartments, 3033 California Ave. S. W. in Seattle. Mrs. Marshall died Wednesday, April 2, 1997, in Seattle. She was 82. Born Feb. 14, 1915, in Hoquiam, she was raised in Blaine and graduated from Blaine High School in 1933. She lived in Bellingham more than 20 years and worked for J. C. Penney and the Bellingham School District. She traveled and lived in Southern California before moving to Seattle 15 years ago. Survivors include her husband, Les, son James of Yakima, daughter Marilyn of Redmond, sister Helen Kenoyer of Hemet, Calif., six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and two nephews.

MARSHALL, Robert Eugene passed away on Sunday, November 21, 2004. He was 80 years old. Robert was born on August 13, 1924 in Cle Elum, WA., to Paul and Valentine Jean (Harris) Marshall. He retired with the Labor Union 276. Robert loved gardening with his wife, rock hunting, and singing with the Barbershop Quartet, the Mt. Baker Toppers, and he was the Cowboys Cowboy. He also picked ferns for many years, enjoyed the outdoors and loved baseball and horseback riding. Robert was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. Children brought great joy to his life. When the grandkids were babies, if they started to cry, he would pick them up and walk them. We all said he had the magic touch. They always quit crying and it was always a guarantee that he would find the time and energy to play with all the kids. His parents, his wife, Dolores, his daughter Melanie, and his sister, Ethel, preceded Robert in death. He is survived by his sons, Jim and wife Tracy Marshall, and John and wife Susan Marshall; daughter Vicki and husband Pat Harnden; grandchildren Paul , Kari, Sean, Darci, John Jr., Nicholas, and Annette; great-grandchildren, Kevin, Tyler, Mason, Cassidy, Megan and Andrew; brother-in-laws, Vernon and wife Diane, Bobby and wife Sherri Annette; sister-in-laws, Elanor Urquart, Carol Knoll, Colleen Atkinson, Lavern and husband Jim Stephens, Cathy and husband Bill Duncan; and his neighbor Hank Rensink, who came to help whenever needed; and long time friends Betty and Diane Harrington. Mr. Marshall was a retired logger who married Angeline Schauman in June of 1953. He enjoyed camping and fishing. His wife, Angeline survives him, as does his step-children, Wayne and wife Winonah Glenney of Wickersham, step-daughters Joyce and husband Bob Currie of Bothell, Wanda Bond of Chelan. Four brothers Bill Marshall of Park, WA, Jim and Jean Marshall of Bellingham, Ray and Liz Marshall of Crescent City, CA and Carol Marshall of Bellingham. MARSHALL, Theda Mae, age 61, of Banning, CA, passed away Sat., Dec. 24, (1977). She was born and raised in Bellingham. She is survived by her husband, Jim; 2 sons, Ronald of Anacortes and Gary of Banning, CA; a sister in Mt. Vernon, Shirley Posthumus; 2 brothers, Bud Fish of LaMirada, CA and Elwood Fish of Seattle; 4 grandchildren. Memorial services were held in California Wed., Dec. 28.
MARSHALL, Thomas, - Funeral services for Thomas Marshall, 87, were held Tuesday Jan. 13 in the chapel at Bonney-Watson with burial in Washington Memorial Park. Mr. Marshall was born in Deming and was the son of Mr. and Mrs. E. E. Marshall who lived on Marshall Hill. His mother, Mrs. Rebecca Marshall, opened the first school in this area and classes were held in their chicken house. Thomas Marshall went on to graduate from the University of Washington Law School in 1923. He was one of the first occupants of the Smith Tower and was the first paying customer for an elevator ride to the tower observation deck. At the time the fare was ten cents. The dime was returned to him and he threw it into an unfinished part of the building to be preserved. Thomas Marshall and his brother, Harvey Marshall, who preceded him in death, opened the first law office in Kirkland. They traveled by ferry across Lake Washington between the two offices. Mr. Marshall was still practicing law in the Smith Tower Office at 87 and had been cited by the Washington State Bar Association for more than 50 years of services as an attorney. Prior to completing law school he had taught school in Whatcom County for two years. He is survived by a foster daughter, Mrs. Judith Goede, Seattle.
MARSHALL, William Pearl, 66, died suddenly Monday (July 5, 1954) at his home in Arlington. A custodial worker at the Hotel Leopold, he had lived in Bellingham 45 years, but since his retirement a year ago, made his home in Arlington. Survivors include the widow, Elizabeth; two daughters, Mrs. Frances Hamilton of Spokane and Mrs. Edward Niblock of Bellingham; four grandchildren, and two sisters in California. Services for Mr. Marshall will be held at Moll Funeral Home in Arlington at 11 a.m. Wednesday, followed at 1 p.m. by graveside services at Greenacres Memorial Park here.
