MALCOLM, Percy Lee, of 1881 Harvey Road, Cottage Grove, Ore., passed away Tues., Jan. 17, 1978 at the age of 70. He was born in Bellingham, Wa., Aug. 14, 1907. He married Marie Hanks in Bellingham, Wa. on Nov. 29, 1928. The moved to Cottage Grove in 1940. He was a Past Master of Masonic Temple AF&AM Cottage Grove Lodge No. 51, Bethlehem Shrine No. 4, Order of White Shrine of Jerusalem, Past President of Wester Saw Filers Association, a director for over 20 years on the Cottage Grove Hospital Board. He was Head Sawfiler for Weyerhaeuser Company of Cottage Grove until his retirement in 1968. He is survived by his wife, Marie; brother, Wade Malcolm of Bellingham, Wa.; son, West of Spokane, Wa.; 3 daughters, Mrs. June Witherspoon of Eugene, Mrs. Mae Westfall of Cottage Grove and Mrs. Vicki Gausepohl of Kennett Square, Pa.; 9 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren. Masonic funeral services were held Friday, Jan. 20 at 1:30 p.m. in the Mills Funeral Chapel with Masonic Temple AF&AM Lodge No. 51 in charge of services, with private family interment at Lane Memorial Gardens.

MALCOLM, Wade L. "Blackie" "Jab", 70 formerly of 2622 Sylvan St. died Sat. Nov. 29, 1980. A lifetime Whatcom County resident, he was a member of the Intl. Assn. of Machinist and Aerospace Workers Lodge No. 239 & is survived by 1 daughter, Carol & her husband Glenn Vander Brink of City; 5 grandchildren, Cheryll Slyke of Chilliwack, B.C., Mary Jo Vander Brink, Tina Munger, Karen Vander Brink & Daniel Vander Brink all of City; 2 great grandchildren, Ryan Slyke of Chilliwack, B.C. & Melissa Munger of City. MALELLA, Joseph, age 83, a Blaine/Birch Bay resident the past 18 years died Tues., May 14, 1991, of cancer at St. Francis Extended Care Facility in Bellingham. The son of Italian immigrants, he was born in New Britain, Conn. on Oct 18, 1907. Mr. Malella grew up in Vancouver, B.C. Canada and married Margaret DeCook on July 14, 1934. He moved back to the U.S. in 1952 and settled in Southern California; did construction work for many years and was a foreman for the Operating Engineers Union; and retired in 1973 from the Printing Ink and Roller Makers Union and moved back to the Pacific Northwest. He was a past member of the Birch Bay Circle Grange and Blaine Senior Center. Mr. Malella was preceded in death by his wife Margaret and daughter, Patricia Aguire. He is survived by a daughter, Ann Moen of Walnut Creek, CA; 2 sons, Robert of Moorpark, CA and James of Lynden, WA; 6 grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be Thurs. May 16, 7-9 p.m. and Fri., May 17, 9-3 p.m. at Greenacres Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held Fri., May 17, 3 p.m. at Greenacres Memorial Park with Rev. Donald Walter officiating. MALELLA, Margaret, age 63 of 8180 Birch Bay Dr., Blaine, passed away at home, Sat. Dec. 1, 1979. Mrs. Malella had been a resident of Birch Bay for 7 years, was a member of the Catholic Church, the Birch Bay Grange, and Blaine Senior center. She is survived by her husband, Joseph, 2 sons, Robert Joseph Malella of Pasadena, Calif., James Frances (sic) Malella of Birch Bay, 2 daughters: Ann Malella of Walnut Creek, Calif. and Patricia Margaret Calmelat of Huntington Beach, Calif., 2 brothers, Gus DeCook of Squamish, B.C. and Albert DeCook of Port Coquitlam, B.C. 6 grandchildren, vigil services will be held in Moles Funeral Home, Wed. Dec. 5, at 7 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be offered by Rev. Phillip Bloom, Thurs. Dec. 6, at 10 a.m. in St. Annes (sic) Catholic Church, Blaine. Burial will follow at Greenacres Memorial Park. MALENG, George, age 50 years, of Acme, Wash., passed away at a local hospital, Friday, February 7, (1947) after a brief illness. Mr. Maleng had been a resident of Whatcom County for the past forty years, was a member of the Saxon Lutheran Church, and of the F.O.E. Aerie No. 31. He was in the army in World War I, serving overseas and was with the navy for fourteen years following. Surviving relatives include his mother, Mrs. Sigrid Maleng, Acme; one sister, Mrs. Ruth Scott, Bellingham; two brothers, John and Norman, both of Acme; also numerous other relatives. Funeral services will be held at the Bingham-Dahlquist Funeral Home, Monday, February 10 at 1:30 p.m. with Rev. A. L. Hokensen officiating. Interment in the family plot in Saxon Cemetery.

MALENG, Karen L. - Memorial services will be held Tuesday in Seattle for Karen L. Maleng, 12, the daughter of King County Prosecutor Norm Maleng and his wife, Judy. The seventh-grader died Thursday (Feb. 2, 1989) while sledding on an inner tube near the family's Magnolia Bluff home in Seattle. She suffered fatal head injuries when the tube truck a parked car. Her father, a Republican candidate for governor last year, is a native of Acme, graduated from Mount Baker High School and has numerous relatives in Whatcom County. Relatives in county include Karen's grandmother, Margaret Maleng, and an uncle and aunt, Henry and Vivian Maleng. Karen had one brother, Mark, 10. Services will be 10 a.m. at the Episcopal Church of the Ascension, 2330 Viewmont Way West, in Seattle. Graveside services will be at 3:30 p.m. at Saxon Cemetery, east of Acme. Karen was a skier, straight-A student, accomplished public speaker, budding artist and a basketball player. A Camp Fire girl and Accolyte at church, she also had her own baby sitting business. She won Two school essay contests, "What the Constitution Means to Me" and "Why My Dad is Best." Funeral arrangements are by Bonney-Watson Co., Seattle.

MALENG, Norman A. - Memorial service for Norman A. Maleng, age 75, of 1424 Valley Highway, will be Fri. April 4, 11 a.m. in Acme Presbyterian Church, with Rev. David Loper officiating. Cremation. Mr. Maleng passed away Sunday March 30, 1986. A lifetime Acme resident, he is survived by his wife Margaret; 2 sons Henry & wife Vivian Maleng of City, Norman Kim & wife Judy Maleng of Seattle; 6 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren. MALENG, Sigri, age 95, who resided at Acme, passed away in a local hospital Friday, March 22, (1963) following an extended illness. Mrs. Maleng had resided in Acme for the past 57 years and was a member of the Saxon Lutheran Church and the Ladies Aid Society. She leaves to survive, two sons Norman A. and John B., both of Acme, her daughter, Mrs. Ruth Scott, of Bellingham; six grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Rev. E. M. Bremer officiated at funeral services Tuesday, March 26th at 1 o'clock in the Chapel of Bingham & Jerns Funeral Home. Interment Saxon Cemetery.

MALES, Louise Elizabeth, age 77 of 2027 Washington Street, Ferndale, died Wednesday, Feb. 13, 1985. Mrs. Males had been a resident of Ferndale for the past 3 years and is survived by 1 daughter, Helen J. & her husband, Irvin R., Los Angeles, CA; 2 granddaughters, Kathleen & her husband, Dr. Wiley Johnson, Laguna Niguel, CA; Carla Gould, Ferndale; grandsons, Kit & Kim Kaiser, Long Beach, CA; a grandson, Adam Gould, Ferndale; many dear friends of the Ferndale & Los Angeles areas. MALESTKY, Julia E. (Higgerson), age 90, died Monday, February 4, (1986) in Seattle. She was born Aug. 31, 1895, in Illinois and moved to Bellingham in 1902 where she lived with her mother and father and 4 brothers and 3 sisters. She moved to Seattle in the late 20's where she lived until her death. She was a member of the Greenwood Christian Church, Daughters of the Nile and Eastern Star. She was active in the Democratic Party and held the elections in her home. She was the beloved Aunt, Sister and Friends. She leaves to survive: nephews Garren and wife Renate Higgerson of Federal Way, Greg Higgerson of Port Angeles, Howard and wife Grace Higgerson, Don & wife Kathy Higgerson of Bellingham and niece Sue and husband Jim Logghe of Bellingham; sisters-in-law, Ruth Higgerson of Bellingham & Freida Higgerson of Port Angeles; numerous great-nephews & nieces and 2 great-great-nieces and many good neighbors and friends and her Church family at Greenwood. MALETZKI, Anne, age 82 years, 1817 Knox St. passed away at a local hospital Saturday, July 7, (1956) following an extended illness. Mrs. Maletzki had been a resident of Bellingham many years and was a member of the Church of the Sacred Heart. Surviving relatives include a daughter, Mrs. D. C. Lammon of San Diego, Calif.; and one great-granddaughter, Mrs. David Glawson of Ephrata, Wash. Requiem Mass will be read Tuesday, July 10, at 9:30 a.m. within the Church of the Sacred Heart, with the Pastor officiating. Interment Bayview under the direction of the Westford Funeral Home.

MALING, Nels, age 94, of Lawrence, passed away in a local hospital, Monday, April 3, (1950). Mr. Maling had resided in that community for 40 years, prior to moving to Brush Paririe, Wash., ten years ago. Deceased had been a member of the Bethany Lutheran Church and Leaves to survive many relatives in the East and also in Norway. The remains are at the funeral home of Harlow-Hollingsworth. Funeral services will be conducted from the Bethany Lutheran Church at Lawrence with the Rev. J. Roland officiating, Thursday, April 6 at 1:30 p.m. Final resting place, Bethany Cemetery.

MALINOWSKI, Maria age 93, of Bellingham, passed away Sun., Aug. 18, 1996, at the Bellingham health Care & Rehabilitation Services Center She was born Feb. 13, 1903, in Lvov, Ukraine to Onufry and Antonina (Polanska) Ivaniszyn and has been a Whatcom County resident since 1977. She was married April 1934 to Tomasz Malinowski in Lvov, Ukraine. Mrs. Malinowska (sic) was an elementary school teacher in Poland for 30 years and also taught drama. She was fluent in six languages and immigrated to the United States in 1977. She was a member of the Church of Assumption in Bellingham and enjoyed singing and art (drawing and watercolors). Her husband preceded her in death in 1986. She is survived by her daughter, Anna M. and husband Walter Shaudney of Bellingham; granddaughter, Barbara and husband Tim Cool of Bellingham; two nieces and one nephew. A memorial service will be held Wed., Aug. 21, 3 p.m. at Greenacres Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jim Lee officiating. Inurnment at Greenacres Memorial Park.

MALINOWSKI, Tomasz - Memorial services for Tomasz Malinowski, 202 N. 34th St., will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Jerns & LeVeck Funeral Chapel, the Rev. John Madigan officiating. A reception will follow at assumption Parish Hall. Mr. Malinowski died Feb. 6, (1986) in Bellingham, at the age of 82. He was born May 24, 1903, in Busk, Poland. Survivors include his wife, Maria; one daughter, Anna Schawdney of Bellingham; one grandchild; three brothers; and one sister.

MALKOW, Elmer Carl of Sudden Valley died Friday, Dec. 17, 1993. He was 74. A memorial service will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at St. James Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Dr. John K. Tritenbach officiating. Born May 18, 1919, in Owatonna, Minn., to Louis and Clara Malkow, he served in the U.S. Navy in World War II. A Whatcom County resident since 1988, Mr. Malkow was a member of St. James Presbyterian Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Fern Malkow, in June 1991. Survivors include a sister, Eleanor Faltico, of Tucson, Ariz. Arrangements by Jones-Moles Funeral Home and Cremation Service.

MALLAHAN, Ann F., age 89 of 1509 E. Victor St., passed away in Bellingham Jan. 31, (1989). She leaves to survive six sons: J. Patrick & wife Gina of Everett, Father James E. MALLAHAN, Ellen Crawford, age 84 years, passed away at the family residence, 715 Fourteenth Street, Friday, April 2, (1948) after an illness of one month. Mrs. Mallahan had been a resident of Bellingham for the past fifty-nine years and was a member of the Sacred Heart Church, the Altar Society of that church, the Catholic Daughters of America and the Catholic Order of Foresters. Surviving relatives include three daughters, Mrs. Joe Kemphaus Sr., Misses Sadie and Katharine Mallahan and two sons, Mathew and John J. Mallahan; nine grandsons, Joe Kemphaus Jr., John Kemphaus, Jack, Mat A. and Joe C. Mallahan, all of Bellingham; also Pat, James, Stephen and Bernard Mallahan, all at St. Edwards seminary, Kenmore, Wash.; two great-grandsons, Dan and John Kemphaus and one great-granddaughter, Kathleen Mallahan, all of Bellingham. The remains will lie in state at the family residence, 715 Fourteenth Street, until Monday morning, April 5, when requiem high mass will be celebrated for the repose of the soul within the church of the Sacred Heart at 10 a.m., with Rev. MALLAHAN, Jack, age 81 of Bellingham, WA, passed away Tuesday, February 22, 1994. Born September 22, 1912 in Bellingham, WA to Patrick and Ella Mallahan. He was a lifetime resident of Bellingham, employed by Diehl Ford the past 34 years before retiring as a sales manager. In the early forties-fifties he was in the Active Club and Bellingham Theatre Guild. He served on the Bellingham City Council with John Westford and Bill McDonald. Jack was past president of Bellingham Central Lions Club and past exalted ruler of B.P.O.E. 194. He married Lucile Standen who preceded him in death in 1972. He is survived by his wife, Verrill of Bellingham, whom he married in 1973; daughter, Kathleen and husband William F. Day of Bellingham; step-son, Lee Hope and wife Phyllis of Paradise, CA; two granddaughters, Julie Colwell and husband Phil, Lisa Stephan and husband Brian; step granddaughter, Sharon Clemons; step grandson, David Hope; five great grandchildren; and five step great grandchildren. Mass of Christian burial will be held 1:00 p.m., Saturday, February 26, 1994 at the Sacred Heart Church with Fr. James Mallahan officiating. Arrangements by Westford Funeral Home.

MALLAHAN, John James, age 64 who resided at 1609 Knox Ave., passed away in a local hospital Friday, May 17, (1964) following an extended illness. Mr. Mallahan had resided in Bellingham his entire lifetime. He was a member of the Sacred Heart Parish, Knights of Columbus, Holy Name Society and Longshoreman's Union Local No. 7. He leaves to survive his wife, Mrs. Ann Mallahan at the family home; six sons, J. Patrick Mallahan of Everett, Father James E. Mallahan of Seattle; Joseph C., Matthew A., and Bernard V., all of Bellingham, and Stephen C. of Edmonds; his brother Mr. Matthew Mallahan; 3 sisters, Miss Katherine Mallahan, Miss Sadie Mallahan and Mrs. Mary Kemphaus, all of Bellingham; twenty-two grandchildren and three nephews. MALLAHAN, Katharine M., age 82, resided at 715 14th St. passed away in a local hospital Jan. 18, (1977). She had been a life time resident of Bellingham was was a former owner of Mallahan Ladies Apparel Store, she was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, a charter member of the Catholic Daughters of America. She leaves to survive 8 nephews, Jack Mallahan, Joe Mallahan, Matt Mallahan, Bernard Mallahan, Joe Kemplaus, all of Bellingham, also Pat Mallahan of Everett, Steve Mallahan of Seattle and Father James Mallahan of Bellevue. MALLAHAN, Mathew - Former Bellingham resident Mathew Mallahan died Thursday, Dec. 29, 1994, in Kittitas County. He was 38. Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Sacred Heart Church in Bellingham. Arrangements are pending with Westford Funeral Home.

MALLAHAN, Matthew C., 69, of 715 14th St., passed away Friday (Dec. 30, 1966) in a local hospital. A lifetime resident of Bellingham, he was a clothier here for many years with Mallahan and Kemphous. He was also a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the Bellingham Council of Knights of Columbus. Mr. Mallahan was a veteran of World Wars I and II and a member of the American Legion. Surviving are three sisters, Miss Katherine Mallahan, Miss Sadie Mallahan and Mrs. Mary Kemphaus, all of Bellingham, and eight nephews, Joseph Kemphaus, Jack Mallahan, Joseph Mallahan, Bernard Mallahan and Matthew Mallahan, all of Bellingham; the Rev. James Mallahan of Seattle; Patrick Mallahan of Everett and Stephen Mallahan of Edmonds. Rosary will be said Monday evening in the Sacred Heart Church at 7:30. MALLAHAN, Sadie, age 84 of 715 14th St., passed away at her residence Tues. Dec. 30th, (1975). A life time resident of Bellingham and was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, a Charter Member of the Catholic Daughters of America, National Catholic Order of Foresters and belonged to the Evanglista Auxiliary at St. Joseph's Hospital. She lives to survive one sister, Katherine Mallahan of Bellingham also 8 nephews, Pat, Joe, Matt, Steve, Bernard, and Jack Mallahan, father James Mallahan and Joe Kemphaus. Rosary will be said Thurs. MALLAHAN, Verrill M., age 91 of Bellingham, passed away at St. Joseph Hospital, Bellingham, Friday, Oct. 17, 1997. She was born March 10, 1906 to Charles A. and Amy A. (Williams) Standen. In Edgemont, South Dakota. Mrs. Mallahan had been a Whatcom County resident for the last 85 years and had worked at Wahl's Department Store in Bellingham for many years. She was preceded in death by her first husband Ray Hope and her second husband Jack Mallahan and her son Raymond Hope. Survivors include her son, Michael Hope and his wife Phyllis of Paradise, CA; step-daughters, Kathleen and husband Bill Day of Birch Bay; 2 grandchildren, David Hope of Paradise, CA and Sharon Clemons of Yreka, CA; 2 step-granddaughters, Julie Colwell and Lisa Stephan both of Bellingham; 3 great-grandchildren and 5 step great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. Private family graveside inurnment will be held at Greenacres Funeral Home.

MALLORY, Alma Jeanette, 56, 444 S. State St., died Wednesday in Bellingham. Mrs. Mallory was born Sept. 30, 1930, in Ontario, Canada. She had been a Bellingham resident for five years. She was a member of the Bellingham Golf and Country Club. Mrs. Mallory is survived by her partner in life, James M. Peirson of Bellingham; and a brother, Will McCracken of Bettendorf, Iowa. At Mrs. Mallory's request, no services will be held. Cremation is by the Whatcom Cremation Association. Jones Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

MALLORY, Robert W. "Bob" 70, a resident of Olympia, died of an illness Saturday, May 6, 1989, in his home. He was born June 11, 1918, to Charles F. and Clara (Rightsel) Mallory in Treese, Kan. He attended schools in Everett and in 1935 was graduated from Everett High School. On April 12, 1936, he was married to Bertha Ritland in Everett. Mr. Mallory lived in Bellingham for 22 years, where he owned and operated the Bellingham Transit System. He also was a commissioner for Whatcom County District No. 1. He enjoyed boating and was a member of the Masonic Lodge Montana No. 42, Elks Club No. 194 and the Bellingham Lions Club. Surviving besides his wife in Olympia, are tow sons, Clifford R., Bellevue, and Michael A., Tacoma; also three grandchildren. A memorial service for Mr. Mallory will begin at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 10, 1989, in Westford's Funeral Home, 1301 Broadway, Bellingham. Leonard Eriskcon and Roger Mallory will officiate. Cremation arrangements are by Westford's Funeral Home.

MALLOTT, Edgar W., age 69 years, of 31 Broadway, Tacoma, Wn., passed away suddenly Saturday, July 17, (1954). Mr. Mallott was a former resident of Bellingham, a member of Hoquiam Elks Lodge BPOE No. 1082. He is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Nora Paddock of Sheridan, Ind., Mrs. Xenia Hodson of Noblesville, Ind. The remains are being forwarded by the Westford Funeral Home to Sheridan, Ind., where services will be conducted.

MALLOW, John L., 21, 7368 Wiser Lane, Lynden, died suddenly at the result of a construction accident on Berthusen Road west of Lynden on Thursday, Aug. 13, 1992. John was born in Arlington, on Dec. 25, 1970. He moved to the Lynden area with his family in May 1971 from Everett. He attended the Lynden public schools and graduated from Lynden High School in 1989. At the time of his death he was employed as a carpenter for DeYoung & Roosma Construction in Lynden. While attending Lynden High School, John played football and trombone in the band. He was an avid four-wheeler and motorcyclist and also enjoyed water skiing. He is survived by his father, John Mallow of the family home; his mother, Mary Cross of Lynden; grandmothers Lillie Belle Mallow of Seattle, and Leona Cross of Sparks, Nev., and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Funeral services were conducted Tuesday in St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Lynden, with Father Jim Lee officiating. Burial followed in Washington Memorial Park, Seattle. Services were under the direction of the Gillies Funeral Home, Lynden.

MALLOY, Jane G., age 83, of 1011 High Street, passed away at a local hospital Saturday, June 30, (1951) following a lingering illness. Miss Malloy leaves no known survivors. MALLOY, Mary, age 93 years, of Ferndale, passed away Wednesday, May 8, in a local hospital following a brief illness. MALMBERG, Elizabeth, age 97 of Beach Star Route passed away Sunday, April 30, (1961), at the home of her daughter following an extended illness. Mrs. Malmberg had been a resident of Lummi her entire lifetime and was a member of St. Joachim's Catholic Church. She is survived by 4 daughters, Mrs. Bertha Smith of Neah Bay, Mrs. Edith Jones and Mrs. Alice John, both of Beach star Route, and Mrs. Helen Jefferson of Marietta; also 34 grandchildren, 134 great-grand children and 8 great-great-grandchildren. MALMBERG, Roger V., Major, age 73 of Bellingham, WA, died March 26, 1997 at St. Joseph Hospital. He was born February 14, 1924 in St. Paul, Minnesota to Carl and Blenda (Check) Malmberg. Mr. Malmbert attended school in St. Paul, MN, Grace Harbor College and Salvation Army Training School in Chicago, IL. June 22, 1950 he married Svea Nelson in St. Paul, MN. He was a member of Ferndale Stamp Club, leader of Salvation Army Senior Citizens Group and was a Sunday School Teacher. He enjoyed fishing and cooking. Preceded in death by son, Ronald E. Malmberg in 1952 and daughter, Lynette Malmberg in 1951. Survived by his loving wife Svea Malmberg of Bellingham; sons, Roland Malmberg and wife Janet of Lynnwood, Roger Malmberg and wife Leona of Olympia; and 4 grandchildren. MALONE, Jordan Patrick, 4, of Sumas died in a car accident Feb. 25, 1995 in Deming. He was born Oct. 18, 1990 in Bellingham to Joseph Patrick and Lisa Anne Florence Zamzow Malone. He is survived by parents Joseph and Lisa Malone of Sumas; two sisters, Makayla Malone and Darrien Malone of Sumas; grandparents Richard and Karla Zamzow of Everson, Patrick Malone of Bellingham, Judith and Carl Andreas of Bellingham and David Florence of Bellingham; great-grandparents John and Agnes Bennett of Lynden, Charles and Gwen Zamzow of Everson, James and Hope Williams of Bellingham, Matt and Betty Kroll of Bellingham and Richard and Teresa Malone of Bellingham; great-great-grandmother Violet Palforman of Canada; and numerous other relatives. A celebration of Jordan's life was held Friday at New Life Fellowship Church followed by burial in Nooksack Cemetery. MALONE, Laurie Ann, age 41, passed away suddenly in Arizona on November 15, 2005, due to complications of diabetes. Laurie was born in Bellingham, WA, on May 19, 1964, to the late Richard Malone and Teresa Malone. Laurie attended Assumption School, Bellingham High School, and Bellingham Technical School. She worked for years in local nursing homes as a CNA and restorative aide. Laurie was greatly appreciated by her patients for her tender, compassionate care, and she was well known by all for her quick wit and great sense of humor. Laurie's big heart never let her turn away anyone in need, and she will be sorely missed by her many friends in NA. Laurie was preceded in death by father Richard Malone and great-nephew Jordan Malone. She is survived by her partner Marcie Simmons; twin sister Estelle Malone; mother Teresa Malone; sisters Kathy Patterson, Sheila Johnson, Michelle Clark (Don Pro), Molly Jonas (Paul), Connie Longanecker (Gordy); brothers Patrick, David (Carla), Frank (Deborah) and Mike Malone; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews, all of Bellingham. MALSBARY, Rita, age 72, a Sedro Woolley resident, died May 8, 1980 at The United General Hospital. Born December 18, 1907, at Birdsview, married to Arno Malsbary in Seattle in 1937. He preceded her in death in 1977. Mrs. Malsbary was a Northern State Hospital employee for 22 years, retiring in 1972. Survived by 1 son, Dick Malsbary of Ferndale; a daughter, Caroline Jank of Bellingham; 3 sisters; 2 grandchildren. MALYSHEFF, George O. – A private service for George Olet Malysheff of Minden, Nev., formerly of Bellingham, was held at Lake Tahoe in Nevada, where half of his ashes were scattered. The remainder of his ashes will be scattered in Juneau, Alaska. Mr. Malysheff died in an accident Monday, Sept. 4, 2000 at his home. He was 42. Born March 29, 1958 to Anatole and Janice (Miller) Malysheff in Seattle, he graduated from Mariner High School in Mukilteo in 1976. Mr. Malysheff lived in Bellingham for 10 years and about five years in Alaska. Mr. Malysheff worked for Northwest Chipping & Grinding of Bellingham. A heavy equipment diesel mechanic/engineer by trade, he also worked as a commercial fisher and a former ranch manager for Taylor Ranch in Utah. He also was a professional scuba diver for more than 20 years. On Nov 29, 1995, he married Christina Cefalu at Lake Tahoe. They met in high school in 1974. His parents died previously. Survivors include his wife of the family home; daughters Andronica of Washington and Elizabeth of Eugene, Ore.; brothers Alexander Malysheff of Mukilteo, Anatole Malysheff of Maple Valley and Gregory Malysheff of Lynnwood; and sister Tanya Baker of Eugene. MAMMITZSCH, Ulrich - Western Washington University liberal studies Professor Ulrich Mammitzsch, 54, died Monday (Nov. 19, 1990) at Western Washington University. He was born Dec. 15, 1935, in the Hartz Mountains of Germany. He had degrees from the University of Hamburg, Southern Illinois University and the University of Hawaii. He came to Western in 1971, and was a specialist in the Department of Liberal Studies in Chinese, and Japanese history and literature. His wide range of work also included many other aspects of Asian studies. He was renowned world wide for his work in the iconology of East Asian Buddhism. He also served as director of the East Asian Studies Program at Wester. He was well known among academics for his mastery of European and American cultures. His life, though outwardly calm, had moments of high adventure. He escaped from Communists twice, once as a boy at the end of World War II, and again in 1956, when a student in the East, he was accused of disloyalty to the party and fled to the West. He referred to this event as "flight to freedom." He was well known in the community, and had led several local tour groups to Japan. He was noted for his sense of humor, his warm sociability. He was a skilled poker and racquetball player. Survivors include several relatives in Germany. MANAHAN, Frederick H., age 72, of 1710 W. North Street, passed away in a local hospital, Tuesday, April 13, (1948). Mr. Manahan had been a resident of the community for the past twenty-four years and was a retired immigration inspector. Deceased was a member of the First Christian Church and had been an alien citizenship instructor for the past ten years. Surviving relatives are the widow, Lucy V., at home; two sons, William J., of Bellingham, and Frederick J., of White Salmon; six grandchildren, and one sister, Mrs. Bernard Isings, of Bellingham. MANAHAN, Lucy V., age 84 who resided at 1710 W. North Street passed away at her home on Friday, December 23, (1960) following an extended illness. Mrs. Manahan had resided in Bellingham for the past 27 years and was a member of the First Christian Church. MANCHESTER, Blanche L. Anderson of 118 Carolina St. died of cancer at home Saturday, July 5, 1997. She was 82. Born Oct. 27, 1914, in Soap Lake, she was a local resident since 1920. A homemaker, Mrs. Manchester enjoyed volunteer work and was a member of a quilting club in Bellingham. Survivors include her husband of the family home, son Frank Manchester of Ferndale and one grandchild. Arrangements by Whatcom Cremation Association.

MANCHESTER, George Goodrich, age 73 of 922 11th St., passed away Tuesday, Feb. 22, (1977). MANELY, George E., 69, a life-time resident of Bellingham and a retired grocer, died in a local hospital Tuesday (Dec. 19, 1961). He lived at 915 Baker St. Mr. Manely was a member of the Congregational Church, Whatcom Lodge 151, F&AM, Bellingham Golf and Country Club, BPOE 194 and the Retail Clerks' Union. MANESS, Perry, age 44 years, passed away at Tacoma as the result of an accident Friday, June 24, (1949). Previous to going to Seattle six months ago, Mr. Maness had resided here for 12 years. Mr. Maness was a carpenter in the employ of Wades-Stiles Construction Company and was a member of the Carpenters and Joiners Local at Seattle. Surviving relatives are three sisters, Mrs. H. E. Palmer of this city, Mrs. N. F. Sweet, Prineville, Ore., and Mrs. Herb Nelson, Vashon Island, Wash.; two daughters, Mrs. Richard Olmstead, Black Eagle, Mont., and Jeanette Maness, Bellingham, and one grandson, also one brother, Orville Maness, San Francisco, Calif. MANEVAL, A. B., who formerly operated a shoe shop in Lynden, passed away April 3, (1922), at the age of 66 years. Mr. Maneval had resided in Bellingham since leaving Lynden. Funeral services were held in Bellingham April 7. Interment was made in the Bay View Cemetery.

MANEVAL, Percy R. W., age 83, of the Washington Veterans Home at Retsil, passed away Oct. 30, 1960, following an extended illness. He was born Jan. 24, 1877, in Lincoln, Neb. In 1886 he came to the Haynie area, joined the Army in July, 1898. After his discharge he married Augusta Gensil and they settled at Route 2, Lynden. In 1918 they moved to Mansfield, Wash., where he was engaged in wheat ranching and operated a butcher shop. In 1922 they moved to Touchet in Walla Walla County where he operated a harness and shoe repair shop. IN 1931 they moved to Route 2, Lynden, where they lived until 1949 when he moved to the Washington Veterans Home in Retsil. He was a member of the Modern Woodsman Association and the Spanish-American War Association. He is survived by two sons, Percy Maneval and Fred Maneval, both of Route 2, Lynden; one daughter, Mrs. Tillie Murphy of Bellingham; two brothers, Oscar Maneval of Sedro Woolley and Randel Maneval of Oregon; two sisters, Mrs. Cora Neilsen of Retsil and Mrs. Pearl Rodgers of Bellingham; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild. Funeral services will be held Thursday, Nov. 3, at 2 p.m. at the Gillies Funeral Home, Rev. Wendell L. Harder officiating. Concluding services and interment will be in the Greenwood Cemetery under the direction of the Gillies Funeral Home.

MANGANO, Georgia G., age 76 of 2415 Lafayette St., Bellingham, passed away in a local hospital Jan. 24, 1990. She was born March 16, 1913 in Kansas City, Missouri, and moved to Bellingham in 1975. She is survived by her 3 nieces, Bonnie Bailey, Terry Rowland, Anita Stolpe, all of Ferndale; 3 nephews, Bill Hendricks, Mike Rowland of Kansas City, Tow (sic) Rowland of Missouri. MANGOLD, Daisy - Visitation for Daisy Mangold of Everson will be from 1 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Gillies Funeral Home in Lynden. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Friday in the Gillies Funeral Home chapel in Lynden. Burial will follow in Nooksack Cemetery. Mrs. Mangold died at her home Wednesday, June 6, 2001. She was 70. She was born Sept. 21, 1930, in Jordan, Ark., to Raymond and Esther (Faris) Barnes, and married Raymond Mangold in Baltimore in 1948. He died in 1950 while serving in Korea. She also lived in Texas before moving to Yakima in 1963 and then to Federal Way in 1966. For 18 years, she worked at the Red Lion Hotel near Sea-Tac Airport and was a member of the Hotel and Restaurant Employees union. Mrs. Mangold moved to Whatcom County in 1986 following her retirement. She enjoyed playing various musical instruments, fishing, gardening, traveling and writing poetry. Besides her parents and husband, brothers Coy and Merl Barnes and Devoe Friend preceded her in death. She is survived by daughters Pat Haugen of Everson and Donna Jensen of Alger sons Ted Mangold of San Antonio, Texas, Bill Phillips of Selmer, Tenn., Dewayne Cheek of Houston, Jim Cheek of Alvin, Texas, and Dan Cheek of Everson 15 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren brother Glen Friend of Calico Rock, Ark., and sister Joy Kirby of Mt. Home, Ark., and numerous other relatives.

MANHART, George Phillip, age 37, of Rt. 1 Everson, passed away near his home Tuesday, Dec. 5, (1961). He had been a lifetime resident of the Lynden area, farming there and also employed at the Darigold plant in Lynden. He was a veteran of the Korean War and was a member of the Teamsters Union. He is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Phillip Manhart of Rt. 1, Everson; one sister, Mrs. Lucille Carnahan of Gila Bend, Arizona. Also three nieces and one nephew. MANHART, Lula, age 77, of Rt. 1, Everson, passed away in the Lynden Christian Rest Home Tuesday, Jan. 10th, after an extended illness. She is survived by her daughter, Mrs. Lucille Carnahan of Lynden, one brother, Charles Gardner of Snohomish, two sisters, Mrs. Nellie Mullinax in Kansas, and Mrs. Myrtle Grimmet in Illinois. MANKINS, Martha, pioneer retired school teacher of Anacortes, passed away in the city at 3:00 a.m. Sunday Nov. 14, (1976) of a congested heart failure at the age of 84. She leaves to survive one daughter, Hessie and a grandson, Mark Carlson of Marysville, WA. Two brothers, Fred Griffin of Bellingham, Floyd Griffin of Bothell, many nieces and nephews. MANLEY, Archie C., 89, of 202 N. 34th Street, Bellingham, died Sunday (Jan. 2, 1994) in Bellingham. He was born January 11, 1904 in Bellingham to Edgar C. and Mamie B. Manley and was a resident of Bellingham and Lake Samish area throughout his life. Mr. Manley was a trucking contractor and later a road foreman for Whatcom Co. He was devoted to his wife Bessie, to whom he was married for over 50 years. She preceded him in death in 1987. Travel was a great joy for him. Mr. Manley was a life member of B.P.O.E. Elks Lodge #194 and a member of Teamsters Local #231. He was preceded in death by his brother Harold Manley. Survivors: son, Dick Manley and wife Shirley of Burlington, WA; brother, Winton Manley of Bellingham; grandchildren, Scot Manley of Seattle and Kami Manley of Burlington; nieces and nephews. MANLEY, Bruce H. age 77, 2300 14th Street, B'ham died Friday June 9, 1989. He was a retired telegrapher and agent for Burlington Northern. He was a member of the retired Musician Club, a Burlington Northern Vet. He played with the Banjokers; a past member of the Seattle Banjo Club. He was a member of the AARP, a Good Sam Club, and Senior Citizens. Bruce was a protege of Eddie Peabody at the Elks Clubs of the Northwest. He also has one of Eddie's banjos which is a Vega. His first wife, Beryl preceded him in death in 1978. He is currently survived by his wife Marguerite, who[m] he married in 1986; a daughter Lynn and husband Cy Lindberg of B'ham, step-daughters, Beverly Preston of B'ham and Maridel Kemp of Everett; a daughter Gail Hovde preceded him in death in 1982. Two cousins survive, Jack Manley of Everett and Bill Manley of Seattle. Three grandchildren; Kristin Hovde, Carly and Courtney Lindberg. Two brothers that preceded him in death. Doug and Reg Manley. MANLEY, Edgar Claude, age 79, of 2521 Pacific Highway South, passed away in a local hospital, Thursday, Oct. 12, (1961). A 62-year resident of Whatcom County, Mr. Manley operated a lumber and shingle mill for many years, was county commissioner from District 1 from 1940 to 1943 and again from 1946 to 1956; was a life member of the B.P.O. Elks, Bellingham Lodge 194. Survivors are three sons, Archie C. and Winton J., both of Bellingham, and Harold E., of Bremerton; five grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Hazel Ray, of Burbank, Calif. The remains rest at the Jones Funeral Home where services will be conducted by Dr. W. Carl Calhoun and officers of the B.P.O. Elks 194, Monday, Oct. 16, at 1 p.m. Final resting place Bay View Cemetery.

MANLEY, Marguerite (Snow), born October 25, 1909 in Bellingham, WA to Jacob and Faye Mahan, passed away on December 16, 2007 in Bellingham, WA. Marguerite graduated from Whatcom High School, Class of 1927. She was a devoted wife, mother, and homemaker. She is survived by her daughters Beverly Preston of Bellingham, Maridel Kamp of Everett, step-daughter Lynn Lindberg of Bellingham, sisters Willafaye Shell of Bellingham, Mabel Petich of Port Orchard, 12 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren. MANN, Calvin H. "Cal" 60, 1914 Lakeside, died Sunday (April 12, 1987) in Bellingham. Mr. Mann was born in Long Beach, Calif., and moved to Bellingham in 1956. He was employed at The Bellingham Herald, was KVOS Radio station manager and later worked an an independent insurance agent. Mr. Mann achieved the designation of Chartered Life Underwriter. He was active in civic affairs, serving for many years with the Bellingham Jaycees. He was a past president of the Bellingham Central Lions Club and promoter of their youth exchange program; and was a member of the Jaycee Christmas Ship; Northwest Washington Estate Planning Council charter president; and member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church. He is survived by his mother, Vesta Mann of Blaine; his wife, Helen, of the family home; three daughters, Helen Dempster and Sarah McEvoy, both of Bellingham, and Jean Mann of Seattle; four sons: Ranny Mann of Bellingham; Cal Mann III of Greenwich, Conn., and Ben and Hunter Mann of San Francisco; two granddaughters and two grandson. Memorial service will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, April 18 at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, with the rev. Ronald Reddell officiating. Arrangements are being made by the Westford funeral Home.

MANN, George Walter of Bellingham went to be with the Lord on August 13, 2005 in Puyallup. George was born on August 19, 1920 in Everson to Walter and Hannah Mann. He was an outstanding baseball player, receiving many awards while attending schools in Whatcom County. George served during WWII with the U.S. Navy from 1942-1946. He flew in B24's which were based in Alaska. After the war, he returned to Whatcom County and retired from Puget Sound Power and Light. George was a life member of the Elks Lodge #194 and the American Legion Post #7. He loved spending time dancing with his special friend, Maxine Reid. George is survived by his sister Irene Forss of San Gabriel, CA; son Ronald P. and wife Laurie Burley of Applegate, OR; daughter Carol Wilson of Bellevue; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, August 23, 2005 at Greenacres Moles Cemetery with full military honors by American Legion Post #7. A reception will follow at Bellingham Elks Club.

MANN, Helen - A memorial service for Helen (Shawhan) Mann of Bellingham will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, with the Rev. Robert Christie officiating and the Rev. John Gibbs providing the homily. Mrs. Mann died Thursday, Sept. 9, 1999, at her home. She was 75. Born in Memphis, Tenn., she had been a Bellingham resident since 1956. She earned a bachelor's degree in education from Mississippi State College for Women in 1946. On Jan. 7, 1950, she married Calvin H. Mann Jr. in Memphis. He died in 1987. Mrs. Mann was a homemaker. Mrs. Mann co-founded the Hood Canal News, Huckleberry Herald and St. Paul's Little Epistles Preschool. She was a member of Master Gardeners, Whatcom Literacy Council, Bellingham Theatre Guild, St. Anne's Guild and American Association of University Women and served as a volunteer for Sharing Shop. Her hobbies included activities with the Literacy Guild Reading Group and International Student Exchange Program. She enjoyed classical music, boating, nature, family traditions and bringing Southern culture to the Northwest. Survivors include daughters Helen Tanzer and Sarah McEvoy, both of Bellingham, and Jean Mann of Seattle sons Ranny and Hunter Mann, both of Bellingham, Ben Mann of Antarctica and Cal Mann of Palo Alto, Calif.; brother Ben Shawhan of Texas eight grandchildren and five nieces and nephews.

MANN, Louise M. - Funeral services for Mrs. Louise M. Mann, 53, 1401 Lakeway Dr., will be 3 p.m. Friday in Jones Funeral Home. She died Wednesday (May 1, 1974). Mrs. Mann was employed at the Western Washington State college book store. A resident of Bellingham since 1889, Mrs. Mann was a member the First Church of Christ, Scientist, and the Mother Church in Boston. Survivors are one granddaughter, Mrs. John R. Brown of Lummi Island; two grandsons, Jack Flack of Spruce Lake, Sask., Canada, George Flack of Boston Bar, B.C.; three great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild. MANN, Nora, aged 83 years, 1009 Lake St., passed away at a local hospital, Sunday, February 8, (1948) after an illness of two months. MANN, Vincent Philip, age 83, of Ferndale, passed away Fri., Nov. 9, 2001, in Bellingham. He was born Oct. 17, 1918, in Altoona, PA to Edgar and Gertrude (Pottsgrove) Mann and had been a Whatcom County resident for 37 years. He married Beverly M. Patch on Aug. 18, 1939, in Alexandria, WV. MANN, Walter G., age 62, of Burlington, passed away at a local hospital Sunday, February 26, (1950) following a lingering illness. Mr. Mann had been a resident of this community for the past 53 years and was a member of the A.F. of L. Electrical Workers Union and employed as a lineman by the Puget Sound Power & Light Company for the past 38 years. Surviving relatives include his wife, Anna E. Mann; two sons, Lyle, of Nooksack, and George, of Lynden; a daughter, Mrs. Irene Forss, of Bellingham; one granddaughter, Judy Fae Mann, of Nooksack; a sister, Mrs. Lucille Wilson, of Bellingham, and many other relatives. MANNER, Cecil - A funeral for Cecil Manner of Blaine will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Greenacres Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Heather Mordhorst officiating. Burial will follow in Greenacres Memorial Park. Mrs. Manner died Monday, Jan. 19, 1998. She was 97. Born Aug. 29, 1900, to Lewis and Catherine Coss Chichester in Ferndale, she was a lifelong Whatcom County resident. She was a member of the Ferndale Chapter No. 223 Order of Eastern Star, Daughters of the Nile and the United Church of Ferndale. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Manner, in 1961 and by daughter Joanne Gustafson in 1995. Survivors include son Dale Manner of Everett, eight grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and many other relatives. Arrangements are by Moles Funeral Home.

MANNER, Ethel M. - A funeral service for Ethel M. Manner, a former Lynden resident, was held on Wednesday, Dec. 28, 1988, in the Chapel of Gillies Funeral Home at 1 p.m. with Rev. Fred Rarden officiating. Burial followed at Woodlawn Cemetery. Mrs. Manner passed away on Sunday, Dec. 25, 1988, at Stafholt Good Samaritan Center in Blaine at the age of 83. She was born on July 4, 1905, in Traverse City, Mich., a daughter of Nathan and Edna Ward. Ethel came to the Lynden area as a young child and was married to her husband George, in Bellingham on July 24, 1924. For many years they owned a Chevrolet dealership, Valley Motors, in Lynden. Mr. Manner died in 1959 She was a member of the Lynden United Methodist Church. Mrs. Manner is survived by a son, Lowell Manner of Redwood City, Calif; six grandchildren; and a son-in-law, Jim Helgath of Ferndale. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Edit "Dee Dee" Helgath, in 1976. Services were under the care of Gillies Funeral Home of Lynden.

MANNER, Jonathan, age 70 of Ferndale passed away in a Bellingham hospital Thursday, April 6, (1961) following a brief illness. Mr. Manner had been a resident of Ferndale for the past 46 years and was a member of F & AM No 264, the Consistory Scottish Rite, the Northwest Shrine Club, the Ferndale Chamber of Commerce, the Ferndale Lions Club, the Bellingham Power Squadron, the Bellingham Yacht Club, the Bellingham Boat Owner's Association, and was a member of the Board of Directors of the Old Settlers' Assoc. Survivors include his wife, Cecil; one daughter, Mrs. Jo Anne Gustafson; one son, Dale Manner, and 7 grandchildren, all of Ferndale; also numerous other relatives. Funeral services will be conducted in the Ferndale Masonic Temple Monday, April 10, at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Ivan R. Smith officiating. Ritualistic services will be held by the Ferndale Lodge No. 264, F.&A.M. in Greenacres Memorial Park.

MANNER, Lowell G. - Graveside services for Lowell G. Manner, 64 of Redwood City, Calif., will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Woodlawn Cemetery with the Rev. Fred Rarden officiating. Mr. Manner, the son of George and Ethel Manner of Lynden, died in Redwood City on Monday (Oct. 8, 1990). He was born on July 13, 1926 in Lynden where he grew up. In the U.S. Army, he was stationed in the South Pacific during World War II. In 1956, he moved to California and worked for E.Z. Davies Chevrolet in Redwood City. MANNER, Pauline Jane (Brue) completed her life on this earth December 8, 2009 peacefully after an extended illness. Born in Bellingham, December 29, 1926 to Elma Mather Baker and Arthur Calmer Brue, Pauline was raised in Everson Washington, graduated from Mt. Baker high school and the University of Washington. Her interests and activities included her beloved husband, family and friends, entertaining, Alpha Chi Delta, Cub Scouts, Campfire Girls, a Sunday school teacher, Eastern Star, Ferndale Fireman's Auxiliary, boating, traveling, gardening, painting, photography, stained glass, Edmonds Photographic Club, Seattle Photography Club, and National Photographic Society, Ancora Bridge Club. She is preceded in death in by her mother Elma Mather (Baker) Brue, and father Arthur Calmer Brue. She will be greatly missed by her beloved husband Dale Manner, three children Marcia Rogers (Darrell), Joe Manner (Jeanne McCarty), and Jim Manner; six grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, her brother Lyle Brue and sister-in-law Betty Brue (Valentine). MANNING, Belle A., age 99, passed from time into eternity on Friday, May 21, 2004 in Bellingham. She was born November 16, 1904 to James M. Long and Lilly M. Simans Long, who had left Missouri to seek a homestead in Alberta. She married Harry N. Manning on October 19, 1925 in Calgary, Alberta. After living in Canada a few years, they came to Bellingham, Washington. Harry preceded her in death in 1959. She has one daughter, Dorothy M. Greening of Penticton, B.C., Canada. Belle had two brothers and five sisters, all preceding her in death: Millard F. Long, Norman S. Long, Mary A. Seawn, Ruby Long, Lenora M. Derbyshire, Beula Stevens, and Clara Long. One grandson, Randy Greening, is deceased. She is survived by her sister-in- law, Ruth Long of Custer, WA; and four grandsons and wives: Robert Greening and Dawn, Bradley Allan Greening and Laurie, Steven Greening and Dawn and Douglas Greening, all of British Columbia. Also seven great-grandchildren. During and after World War II, she cooked for the Alaskan Highway crew while they built the Alaskan Highway. MANNER, Diane Gene, three-months-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Norman B. Manning, of Los Angeles, passed away in that city Sunday, November 29, (1953). MANNING, Harry N., age 59, of 1442 Iron St., passed away at a local hospital Tuesday, Sept. 8, (1959). MANNING, Keith - Memorial services for Keith Manning of Point Roberts will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Point Roberts. The Rev. Ernie Loreen will officiate. Mr. Manning, 55, died Monday, Nov. 1, 1993, in Point Roberts. Born Feb. 9, 1938, to Cecil Edward and Margerie Manning in Ladner, B.C., he lived all his life between the United States and Canada. He worked as a fisherman and on the Alberta oil pipeline. He enjoyed duck and goose hunting and saltwater fishing. MANNING, Ruth E., age 69 of Silverdale, Wash., passed away Thursday, October 7, (1971) in a local hospital. She is survived by her 3 sisters, Nora VanOver of Everson; Mrs. Gertrude Caley of Blaine, and Mrs. Edna Caley of Richland; a brother, Arthur Emmerson of Seattle; numerous nieces and nephews including Mrs. Lena VanOver of Lynden. MANNOTT, Walter E., age 69, of 2214 Lynn St., passed away in a local nursing home Saturday, December 8, (1962). Mr. Mannott had been a life resident of this community and was employed at the Bellingham Shipyards for many years prior to his retirement 4 years ago. MANOR, Eunice Read, age 92 of Custer, WA, Whatcom County resident for 33 years, died Saturday, September 6, 1997. She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and JoAnn Manor of Hollandale, MS, William Lee, Jr., and Marie Manor of Greenville, MS; daughter Jeanne Kimbrough of Custer, WA; nine grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents four brothers, four sisters and two grandsons, Larry B. and Michael L. Manor. Mrs. Manor was born at Conway, MS, February 26, 1905 to Marcus Henry and Eula Anne (Edwards) Allen. She married William Lee Manor, Sr. of Delta City, MS, August 30, 1925; he died in 1961. In 1964 she moved to Custer to be near her daughter and husband and obtained her nurse's license in the State of Washington and worked at St. Luke's Hospital living in Bellingham until she retired. She was a long-time member of Bakerview Baptist Church until it merged with Ferndale Alliance where she became a member. Visitation will be Tuesday, September 9, 1997 from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Moles Funeral Home Chapel. MANOS, Infant daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Manos, of 2296 Pacific St., passed away at a local hospital Sunday, Jan. 24, (1954). Besides her parents, she is survived by one brother, John LeRoy at home; maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. LeRoy Larson of Bottineau, North Dakota; paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Pete Manos of this city. MANOS, Pano "Pete" - A memorial service for Pano "Pete" Manos of Ferndale will be at 1 p.m. Friday at The United Church of Ferndale, with the Rev. Heather Mordhorst officiating. Mr. Manos died of cancer at his home Sunday, March 14, 1999. He was 70. He was born Dec. 6, 1928 to Pete and Panoria Karaskoza Manos in Bellingham and attended schools here. He served in the U.S. Navy. On Sept. 19, 1953, he married Ruth Jackson. Mr. Manos graduated from what is now Western Washington University with bachelor's and master's degrees. He taught in the Ferndale School District for 30 years. His hobbies included woodworking, camping, hiking and amateur radio and he was known for his sense of humor and quick wit. A devout Christian, he was a member of the United Church of Ferndale. Survivors include his wife of the family home; sons Curt Manos and Craig Manos; brothers Andy Manos and John Manos; sister Jeri Graham; and two grandchildren. Arrangements are by Moles Funeral Home.

MANROE, John R., 75, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, December 13, 2005, with his loved ones around him. After a long, courageous battle with cancer, he is finally with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, whom he boldly spoke of. Jack was born on May 28, 1930 in Brush Co. He moved with his parents at the age of 12, settling in the Bellevue area, where he graduated from Bellevue High School in 1949. After his discharge from the Army, Jack went to work as a mechanic for the Bellevue school District. He married Rose Mary Stinton in 1954, and the couple lived in the Kirkland and Redmond areas for forty years, before moving to Sedro-Woolley after Jack's retirement in 1994. Jack and Rose celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 2004, with the renewing of their vows and a reception.
Jack loved to fish, hunt and camp with his family, and he had a beautiful garden that he tended every year. Some of his best memories were those of the times he spent traveling the U. S. in his trailer and spending quality time with his children and grandchildren. He also loved to work for the Lord and was very active in his church. Jack never knew a stranger.
His parents and two brothers preceded Jack in death. He is survived by his wife, Rose of the family home; son, Jim (Annette) Monroe [sic] of Sumas; daughters, Vicki (Jim) Stuff of Port Orchard, and Deanna (Doug) Bagge of Cortez, CO; 8 grandchildren; sister, Helen of Boise, ID; brother Chris of Ontario, OR; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation is scheduled for Friday, December 16, 2005 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Moles Family Funeral Home, Lynden. A Celebration of Jack's life will be held at Viewcrest Assembly, 830 N. 16th St., Mt. Vernon, WA on Saturday, December 17, 2005 at 1:00 p.m., with a Graveside Service on Monday, December 19, 2005 at 1:30 p.m. at Lakeside Cemetery in Lynden.

MANSFIELD, Amanda Minnie, age 87, of Sumas, passed away in a local hospital Saturday, Nov. 11, (1961). A 13 year resident of Whatcom County, Mrs. Mansfield leaves to survive one daughter, Mrs. Larraine Whaley of Ocean City, Wash., three sons, Kay Mansfield in Montana, Dawson Mansfield in Utah and Eugene Mansfield in Wyoming, three grandchildren. MANSFIELD, Kathleen R. - Graveside services for Kathleen R. Mansfield will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Ocean View Cemetery, Warrenton, Ore. Mrs. Mansfield of 4672 Birch Bay-Lynden Road, Blaine, died Sunday, Feb. 20, 1994. She was 77. Born Oct. 19, 1916, to Arthur T. and Agnes B. Rubens in Dahlia, she grew up in Clatsop County and attended school in the Astoria, Ore., area. Mrs. Mansfield worked for a decade or longer as an inspector at the Point Adam Cannery in Hammond, Ore., and at other canneries in that area. She moved to Anchorage, Alaska, in 1948, where she spent five years working in a mess hall for government workers. After leaving Alaska, she spent two years working for a telephone company in Michigan. She met and married Oscar Mansfield while in Michigan. They moved to California in 1954 and lived there for 10 years. She and her husband moved to Bellingham in 1964, where they bought and operated Bellingham Blue Printing Co. from 1964 to 1974. After selling the business, they moved to Florida for two years. After her husband died of a heart attack in 1976, she moved to Oregon, where she lived until she moved to Blaine four years ago. Survivors include sons Floyd W. Andrews of Blaine and Robert L. Andrews of Klamath Falls, Ore.; brothers Chris Rubens of Newberg, Ore., and Joe Rubens of Hammond, Ore.; two grandchildren, [Irene & Crystal]; two great-grandchildren, [Justin & Teddie Jr.]; and three step-great grandchildren. MANSFIELD, Nina Mae, age 61 of Rt. 1, Sumas passed away in a local hospital Sunday, May 27, (1962) following an extended illness. MANSFIELD, Otto William, age 80, of Route 1, Sumas, passed away suddenly in a local hospital, Wednesday, March 9, (1960). He had been a resident of the Sumas area since 1942. MANSON, Eva D., 88, a former teacher at Larrabee School, died Nov. 11, (1988) in a Seattle Hospital. Mrs. Manson was born April 12, 1900, in Ludington, Mich. She moved to Bellingham with her family as a young girl and she graduated from the Bellingham Normal School, now Western Washington University. Mrs. Manson began teaching first and second grade at Larrabee School during World War II. She was a member of Maple Leaf Chapter 58, Order of Eastern Star and the Washington State Retired Teachers Association. Survivors include a nephew Victor Manson of Seattle; a niece, Shirley Lind of Seattle; numerous great-nieces and nephews; and numerous great-great-nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. Nov. 26 at Redeemers Lutheran Church, Seattle.

MANSON, Martha Bertha, age 83, of 2015 Young Street, passed away in a local hospital, Sunday, August 17, (1947). Mrs. Manson was one of the oldest settlers in this community having homesteaded in Bellingham sixty-three years ago. Deceased had attended the First Christian Church and was a member of the Loyal Women's Class and the Ladies' Aid of that church and was a member of the Maple Leaf Chapter, Order of Eastern Star and the Bellingham Orthopedic Guild. Surviving relatives are four sons, William and Victor, of Bellingham, Carl, of Tacoma, and Clint, of New York City; three daughters, Mrs. James R. Chevalier, of Bellingham, Mrs. L. E. Hayden, of Boston, Mass., and Mrs. A. D. Stebbins, of Tacoma; also seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. MANTHEY, Daisy, age 78, of Ferndale, passed away Friday, August 15th, 2008. Daisy was born in Van Buren, Missouri on Jan. 28, 1930, to Jack and Mary Culpepper. She married William "Bill" Manthey on May 1, 1950 in Bellingham. They were married for 54 years. Daisy loved her life on the farm and playing pinochle with Bill and their relatives. Daisy was selected in 1968 as the Whatcom County Farm Woman of the year. Daisy was preceded in death by her husband, William Manthey; daughter Beverly Swift; great-granddaughter Lily Dubois; three sisters and 4 brothers. Daisy is survived by three children: Shelly Dubois of Bellingham; sons Randy and wife Patti of Ferndale; Gary and wife Ann Manthey of Farmington, MN; eight grandchildren; two great-grandsons; and several foster sons. The family would like to thank Daisy's many friends, Visiting Angels, and the Hospice nurses for their care and support. MANTHEY, David, age 54 of 1280 Deer Creek Dr., Ferndale, died Monday, July 30, 1984 at his home. He had been a lifetime resident of Whatcom County, he is survived by 2 sons, James E. Manthey and his wife Dawn of Ferndale, Gorden K. Manthey and his wife Rhonda of Lynden; 2 brothers, Robert Manthey of Ferndale, Gerald Manthey and his wife Mary of Bellingham; 2 sisters, Ruby and her husband Lloyd Lunde of Bellingham; Jolene and her husband Nick Lagerwey of Bellingham; 3 grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. MANTHEY, Fred C., age 59, of 1230 Aldrich Road, passed away in a local hospital, Friday, December 17, (1948) following a lingering illness. Born in South Bellingham, he had been a resident of Whatcom County his entire life. Surviving are his widow, Lizzie; two daughters, Mrs. Mildred Frost, of Bellingham, Mrs. Elizabeth Snyder of Route 2, Bellingham; two sons, Lloyd and William, both of Aldrich Road; also three brothers, Walter, of Bellingham, Joe, of Aldrich Road, and Lloyd W., of San Francisco; one sister, Mrs. Marguerett Omley, of Kirkland, Washington; and seven grandchildren. He was a member of the following clubs and organizations: National Guernsey Club, Whatcom County Guernsey Cattle Club, Whatcom County Guernsey Cattle Club, Co-Op and Whatcom County Dairymen's Association, Co-Op Chick Association, National and State Grange, North Bellingham Grange No. 201, North Bellingham Community Church, and an officer in the Whatcom County Pomona Grange. Funeral services will be held at Monroe's Chapel in Ferndale, Tuesday afternoon, December 21, at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Harlan Stone officiating. Interment in Woodlawn Cemetery.

MANTHEY, Geneva June passed away peacefully on January 4, 2009, in Bellingham, WA, at the age of 87. She was born on June 27, 1921, in Wetonka, SD, to Howard and Goldie Fryer. She is survived by her children, Harriet Nelson, Vivian Hatherell, Larry Manthey, and Jerry and his wife, Joyce Manthey; 11 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; and brothers, Don, Merle, and Dewey Fryer. Geneva was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Roy Manthey; grandson, Kurt; and sisters, Frona Obrien and Verlyn Eschbach. A funeral service to celebrate Geneva's life will be held on Friday, January 9th at 11:00 a.m. at Greenacres Funeral Home Chapel, 5700 Northwest Dr., Moles Family Funeral Homes & Crematory – Ferndale.

MANTHEY, Gerald E., age 59, passed away Sunday, March 29, 1998 at St. Joseph Hospital. He was born May 16, 1938 in Bellingham to Joseph L. and Marjorie L. (Knight) Manthey. A 1957 graduate of Meridian High School, he was very active in FFA, where he achieved the American Farmer Degree. He showed champion Jersey dairy cattle at the Lynden Fair and in the Pacific Northwest area; enjoyed raising game birds and all breeds of chickens; gardening and raising flowers were a favorite hobby. He is survived by two sisters, Ruby Lunde and Jolene Lagerway and husband Nick, all of Bellingham; numerous nieces, nephews and many friends. A graveside service will be held Wednesday, April 1, 1998, 4 p.m. at Greenacres Memorial Park with Rev. Ronald Slater officiating. Arrangements by Greenacres Funeral Home & Crematorium.

MANTHEY, Ida May - Ninety-three year Whatcom County resident Ida May Manthey, 99, of 968 Marine Dr. died Wednesday, Aug. 19, 1992 at St. Joseph Main Campus. A funeral service will be held 2:30 p.m. Friday at Moles Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Ralph Poulson officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery. Visitation is from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today. Born Nov. 5, 1892, in Clare County, Mich., to William and Mary Abbey Stevens, Mrs. Manthey was 6 when she moved to Whatcom County. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter J. Manthey. He died in October 1984. Survivors include son Roy Manthey of Bellingham; daughters Florence Bowman and Marie Linker, both of Bellingham; Evelyn Pine of Newville, PA; five grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.

Mr. Manthey had been a life time resident of Whatcom County, and is survived by 2 daughters, Ruby Lunde and Jolene Lagerway (sic) of Bellingham; 3 sons, Robert and Gerald of Bellingham; David of Ferndale; 1 brother, Walter of Bellingham; 12 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted Friday, August 23 at 1:30 p.m. in Moles Funeral Chapel with Rev Richard Beddoe officiating. Final resting place Greenacres.

MANTHEY, Lloyd R. of Bellingham passed away at his home on Saturday, Nov. 10, 2001. He was 88. Visitation will be held today from 5 to 8 p.m. in the Moles Funeral Home chapel in Ferndale. A graveside service will be held Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at Woodlawn Cemetery in Ferndale. A memorial service will follow at Redeemer Lutheran Church at 11 a.m. with Pastor Richard Husman officiating. A son of Fred and Elizabeth Manthey, Lloyd was born in Bellingham on June 12, 1913. He graduated from Meridian High School and was a dairy farmer for 50 years. After he retired, Lloyd and his wife, Peggy, and his son, Dan, owned and operated Manthey Christmas Tree Land. He was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church of Bellingham and of the North Bellingham Grange for over 50 years. His wife, Peggy, predeceased him in July 1996. Survivors include two daughters, Caryn Sinnes and husband Ola of Bellingham and Mary Vroman and husband Howard of Ferndale; two sons, Dan Manthey and wife Marcia of Bellingham and Joel Manthey and wife Bonnie of Ferndale; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; and a brother, William Manthey of Bellingham. Arrangements are under the care of Moles Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Ferndale.

MANTHEY, Marjorie L., age 50, of 1210 Aldrich Road, passed away at a local hospital Sunday, March 20, (1949) after a brief illness. Mrs. Manthey had been a resident of the county for the past 44 years. Surviving relatives include her husband, Joseph L. Manthey; four sons, Robert, of Aldrich Road, and David, Jerry and Paul, all at home; two daughters, Joeline, at home, and Mrs. Ruby Lunde, of Rt. 3, City; three grandsons; three sisters, Mrs. Albert Kluge, of Bellingham, Mrs. Irene Dixon, of Bellingham, and Mrs. William Witsel, of Rt. 2, Lynden; two brothers, Charlie Knight, of Maple Falls, and Earl Knight, of Bellingham. Funeral services will be conducted within the Chapel of the Monroe Mortuary Thursday, March 24, at 2 p.m. with Mr. E. R. Smerchek, of the Jehovah Witnesses, officiating. Interment in Greenacres Cemetery.

MANTHEY, Paul Edward, age 16 years of 1210 Aldrich Road passed away Saturday, July 2, (1960) following an extended illness. Survivors include his father, Joseph Manley; two sisters, Mrs. Jolene Lagerwey, Aldrich Road and Mrs. Ruby Lunde, Mt. Baker Highway; three brothers, Robert, Axton Road, David, Rt. No. 1, Ferndale and Gerald at the family home; also numerous other relatives. MANTHEY, Peggy Lou, of 765 W. Axton Road, died at home Saturday, July 20, 1996. She was 73. Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Woodlawn Cemetery followed by a memorial service at Redeemer Lutheran Church with Pastor Richard Husman officiating. A luncheon will follow at the church. Born Dec. 26, 1922 to Harold James and Florence Harriet Blakeslee Truitt in Bellingham, Mrs. Manthey graduated from Bellingham High School in 1940. She married Lloyd R. Manthey, Oct 18, 1941 in Bellingham. A member of Redeemer Lutheran Church of Bellingham, she and her husband owned and operated Manthey's Christmas Treeland on West Axton Road. Survivors include her husband of the family home; daughters Caryn Sinnes of Bellingham and Mary Vroman of Ferndale; sons Dan Manthey of Bellingham and Joel Manthey of Ferndale; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sister JoAnn Sandberg of Everson; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. MANTHEY, Roy W., age 86 of Bellingham, lifetime Whatcom County resident, died Saturday, July 12, 1997. He is survived by wife Geneva J. (Fryer) Manthey; son Larry R. Manthey of Bellingham; son and daughter-in-law Jerry L. and Joyce E. Manthey of Bellingham; daughters, Harriet J. Nelson of Seattle, Vivian M. Hatherell of Kent; sister Florence Bowmaan of Bellingham; sisters and brother-in-law Marie and Art Linker of Bellingham, Evelyn and Andy Pine of Newville, PA; 11 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents and one grandchild. Mr. Manthey was born March 11, 1911, in Ferndale to Walter and Ida (Stevens) Manthey. He was a logger most of his life. Visitation will be Tuesday, July 15, 1997, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Moles Funeral Home Chapel. MANTHEY, Walter J., age 93 of 2530 Yew St., Bellingham, passed away Wed., Oct. 10, 1984 at his home. He had been a lifetime resident of Whatcom County, served as assistant fire chief in Ferndale from 1932-1942 and worked as a logger in Whatcom County most of his life. He is survived by his wife, Ida of Bellingham; 1 son, Roy Manthey and his wife Geneva of Bellingham; 3 daughters Florence Bowman of Bellingham, Marie and her husband Arthur Linker of Bellingham, Evelyn and her husband Andrew Pine of Newville, Penn; 6 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. Funeral services will be held Mon. Oct. 15, 1:30 p.m. in the chapel of Moles Funeral Home with Pastor Ralph Poulson officiating. Burial to follow at Woodlawn Cemetery.

MANTHEY, William "Bill", age 76, of Bellingham, passed away Tuesday, August 10, 2004 in Seattle. He was born in Bellingham on April 30, 1928 to Fred and Elizabeth Manthey. After graduating from Ferndale High School, Bill worked as a dairy farmer. He married Daisy Culpepper on May 1, 1950 in Bellingham. They were married for 54 years. Bill built Manthey's Country Mobile Park, worked for several years as a bus driver for the Meridian School District, and raised beef on his eighty acre farm. He was a member of the North Bellingham Grange for 55 years, as well as the Washington Dairy Association. Bill loved his farm and taking care of his animals, playing Pinochle with friends, and fishing and camping in the family's motor home. He also dearly loved his children and grandchildren and enjoyed playing with them at the lake. Bill is preceded in death by a daughter, Beverly Swift; brother Lloyd Manthey; and sisters, Betty Snyder and Mildred Frost. Bill is survived by three children; daughter Shelly Dubois and her fiance, Steve Rouse, of Bellingham; sons Randy and wife Patti Manthey, of Ferndale, and Gary and wife Ann Manthey, of Farmington, MN; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; several foster sons; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation is scheduled for Thursday, August 12, 2004 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. in the Ferndale|Moles Chapel. A funeral Service will be held on Friday, August 13, 2004 at 10:00 a.m. in the Ferndale|Moles Chapel. Ferndale|Moles Funeral Home & Cremation Service.

MANUEL, Nelle Beatrice, age 86 of Everett, WA, passed away Feb. 6, 1977. Mrs. Manuel was born in Machsburg (sic), Iowa on June 30, 1890. The Manuels moved to Bellingham in 1925 and spent the next 30 years here. In 1955 they moved to Seattle where Mr. Manuel passed away that same year. While in B'ham, Mrs. Manuel was employed at Horns Dept. Store for 10 years. She was a member of the Garden Street Methodist Church and a 50 year member of the Maple Leaf Chapter of Eastern Star. She was very active in bowling in her later years and at the age of 80 was bowling in 3 leagues a week. Mrs. Manuel is survived y 1 daughter, Mrs. Marilyn Irwin of Lakewood; 2 grandsons, Stephen and Lance Irwin of Lynnwood; 1 granddaughter, Mrs. Debra Gillette of Lynnwood and 2 great grandsons. Funeral arrangements were made by Bleitz Funeral Home in Seattle. Interment will be at Greenacres Memorial Cemetery in Ferndale. Memorial services will be held at Garden Street Methodist Church Friday, Feb. 11 at 1 p.m. with Dr. Daniel E. Taylor officiating.

MANUEL, William Merle "Bill" age 64, passed away at the family home, 14538 27th N.E., Seattle, Saturday, Nov. 12, (1955). Mr. Manuel had resided in Bellingham for 30 years before moving to Seattle two months ago; was a retired glazer for the Columbia Valley Lumber Co.; had attended the Methodist Church; was a life member of Oketo Lodge No. 25, F.&A.M. of Oketo, Kan.; a member of Maple Leaf Chapter No. 58, O.E.S., and a member of the Lumber and Sawmill Workers Union Local No. 2637. Surviving relatives are his widow, Nellie B at home; one daughter, Mrs. George (Marilyn) Mock, Jr. of Seattle; three grandchildren, Stephen M., Debra Lynn and William L. Mock all of Seattle; two brothers, Dr. J. E. Manuel of Gooding, Ida., and Ray Manuel of Delphos, Kan.; two sisters, Mrs. Pearl Howell and Mrs. Edith Maholland, both of Minneapolis, Kan. The remains rest at the funeral Home of Harlow-Hollingsworth where services will be conducted by the Rev. Clarence J. Forsberg Tuesday, Nov. 15 at 1:30 p.m. followed by the ritualistic graveside services of Bellingham Bay Lodge No. 44 F. & A.M. at Greenacres Memorial Park.

MANUS, Fred J., age 87 of 9284 West Trapline Rd., passed away in a local rest home Tuesday, November 17, (1964). A retired farmer, he had made his home in the Lynden area since 1906. Surviving are 3 sons, Louis in Pakistan, Edward and John, both of Portland; 1 daughter, Mrs. Norman Cowles of San Francisco; 2 brothers, Gerhard and Albert, both in Illinois; 2 sisters, Mrs. Katherine Robinson of Washington, D.C.; Mrs. Minnie DeWall of Arcadia, California; also 7 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at the Gillies Funeral Home Saturday, November 21 at 11 a.m., Rev. Carl Lindstrom officiating. Burial will follow in the Lynden Cemetery.

MANUS, Ollie, age 74, of Rt. 3 Lynden passed away Friday, March 31, (1961) following an extended illness. Mrs. Manus had been a resident of the Lynden area since 1906 and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Lynden. Surviving is her husband Fred; 3 sons, Louis J. of Pullman, Edward H. and John F. both of Portland; 1 daughter, Mrs. Margaret Cowles of San Francisco; 6 brothers, Ben Meyer of Marysville, Richard Meyer of Portland, Al Meyer of Jefferson, Oregon, Henry and Harry Meyer both of Bellingham and Cecil Meyer of Wickersham; 2 sisters, Mrs. Beth Chapman of Seattle and Mrs. Recca Bruse of Norcross, Minnesota. Also 7 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at the First Baptist Church in Lynden, Monday, April 3, at 10:30 a.m. with the Rev. Carl Lindstrom officiating. Burial will follow in the Lynden Cemetery under the direction of the Gillies Funeral Home of Lynden.

MANWARING, Edna Stocker, Dr., who resided at 2801 Summer St., passed away at the family residence on Sunday, October 17, (1954) at the age of 71 years following a lingering illness. Dr. Manwaring leave to survive her husband, George E. Manwaring; one sister, Dr. Bertha Stocker Broyles, Bellingham; also numerous other relatives. Dr. Manwaring was a member of the Church of Truth. She had moved to Bellingham in 1904 and opened offices in February, 1905. She was a life member of the National Association of Chiropodists, also life member of the Washington State Association. She instrumental in founding the National Association in 1912; also in founding the state association in 1914. Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, October 20, at 2:30 p.m. in the chapel of Bingham, Dahlquist & Jerns Funeral Home with Dr. Margaret W. Kupfer officiating. Followed by cremation.

MANWARING, George, age 86 who resided at 604 W. Maryland Street passed away in a local hospital Sunday, December 25, (1960) following an extended illness. Mr. Manwaring was a member of the Presbyterian Church, the B.P.O.E. Lodge No. 194 and was a retired engineer for the Milwaukee Road having served for them from 1893 to 1944. He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Agnes Jaeger in California; two sisters, Mrs. Anna Lohmann and Mrs. Etta Thompson, both in Oklahoma; also one brother, C. B. Manwaring of San Diego. The remains will be forwarded by the Bingham & Jerns Funeral Home to Miami, Oklahoma for services and burial.
