LANE, Cathy M., age 41, born May 8, 1965, went home to be with her savior Jesus Christ on Friday, January 5, 2007. Although Cathy has always believed in God, we believe, through recent letters she wrote to us and to God, her commitment to faith has been renewed. Thank you Jesus. We feel she would personally express her wishes to you through the following... I ask that each of you reading this to consider receiving Jesus into your own life. The journey is awesome! After asking Jesus into my life, the last several years have been filled with serving him in any way I was asked. The passion in my heart has been praying the rosary, through which I found my enthusiasm for God's faith, hope, charity, and love, came together while being around people of all walks of life. Cathy enjoyed going for rides, especially to Portage. She loved sunsets, walks on the beach, digging clams, picking oysters, and fishing. She enjoyed shopping, listening to music, cooking, and cleaning. Cathy believed in education for her children, encouraged them to participate in sports, and always believed in her faith in God. She had a big heart, and could never say no to anyone in need of help. Cathy cherished every moment with her children, family and friends, and loved to have prayer groups at her home. Cathy attended Chemawa Indian School, where she was a cheerleader, and Homecoming Queen. She received her travel agent certificate from BVTI. Cathy enjoyed modeling for various fashion events. She was a Mary Kay sales representative. Cathy was an entrepreneur with big dreams, selling fireworks, and working a concession stand, encouraging others to succeed in their dreams too. Cathy was a diabetic since she was 16 years old, most recently she survived through the support of love and compassion by family, friends, and the Mt. Baker Kidney Center. Although she endured her life at the center she was very grateful for the friendships she gained. Although Cathy was only home for one day after being away, for almost four years, we believe it was a miracle, Praise the Lord! We were only a short stop, on her way to heaven, to refuel her with love and to know her kids were being taken care of. God Bless you! Preceding her in death, her father Arthur C. Lane II. Survived by her mate John Jefferson; children Angel, Levi and Alex; mother Darlene (Finkbonner) Lane; sisters Cleo, Laura, Candy, Theresa and Mary; brothers Arthur, Raymond and Jonathan. Vigil Service Monday, January 8, 2007 6 p.m. and Catholic Funeral Mass Tuesday, January 9, 2007, Wx'liem Community Center, Lummi.
