DAUGHERTY, Marc Conwell passed yesterday into the spiritual realm at the age of 66 after his battle with liver cancer. A devoted father, gardener, conversationalist, closet musician and observer of current affairs, he leaves this world somewhat dimmer without his verbal wit and pursuit of fun in every activity he put his mind to. He was a man who took pleasure in word play, in championing the rights of young people, discussing spiritual matters and politics, and exploring the outdoors and all aspects of nature. Energetic, dramatic, complimentary, creative, hardworking, mischievour, Marc loved to talk with people and laugh heartily at every opportunity, whether it was through spoonerisms, hinky-pinkies, understated humor, or hyperbole. He lived as a raconteur and created original ideas in writing and in person. A devoted Baha'i for most of his life, he was an active member of the Mount Baker Baha'i community. He was also proud to work for years as a groundskeeper at Western Washington University and always had a way with making things grow. Marc is survived by his three children: Eric Daugherty, Marie Moran, and Paul Daugherty as well as four grandchildren. He will be committed to the earth at Enterprise Cemetery on Thursday, April 1st, 2004 at 10 a.m. Memorial service to be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 3rd, 2004 at the family home.
