DALBOL, Joanna Scholtz, of Bellingham died Saturday, Feb. 20, 1999, in Bellingham. She was 88. A prayer service will be held at 7 tonight at Wexliem Community Center with the Rev. Bryan Hersey officiating. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the center with the Rev. Tim Sauer officiating. The oldest female elder of Lummi Nation, Mrs. Dalbol was active in educating younger generations in tribal culture and practices. She enjoyed nature, sewing, crocheting and gardening. Mrs. Dalbol was preceded in death by her husband, John Horn Sr., and by sons John Horn Jr. and Robert Horn. Survivors include daughters Sally Jack of Bellingham and Emma Jean Tracey of Tacoma; sons Ralph Horn and Louis Horn, both of Bellingham; brother Solomon Scholtz of Bellingham; sister Lilly Ann Scholtz of Bellingham; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives. DALE, Alice C., age 59, of Route 4, Bellingham, passed away Tuesday, October 25, (1949) in a local hospital. She had been a Bellingham resident for the past 34 years and was a member of the Church of England. She is survived by her husband, Andrew Herman Dale; one son, James A. Dale, of this city; three daughters, Mrs. Jeane Harris, of Victoria, B.C., Mrs. Rudy Anderson and Mrs. John Stedman, both of Bellingham; two brothers, James Hancox, of Calgary, Alberta, and G. E. Hancox, Vancouver, B.C.; two sisters, Mrs. Leila Carter, of Victoria, B.C., and Mrs. L. C. Hogg, of Vancouver, B.C. Also three grandchildren. Funeral services will be held from the chapel of the Bingham-Dahlquist & Jerns Funeral Home, Saturday, October 29, at 1:30 p.m. with the Rev. W. Robert Webb, officiating. Interment in Bay View.

DALE, Bonnie, age 54, of Marysville, died Feb. 15, (1987) in Everett Hospital. She was born July 30, 1932 at Westby, Montana. Raised in Ferndale where she graduated from high school, was a graduate of WWU, taught school at Ferndale for 1 years & 18 years at Marysville School Dist. She taught secondary music and was Educator of the Year at Marysville in 1979. She served as State Secretary for Music Education National Conference, sang with The Sweet Adelines for 15 years & for 22 years was the Church Choir Director at Bethlehem Lutheran Church at Marysville. She leaves her husband, Richard at home; a son, Michael of Marysville; daughters, Deborah Gilbert of Marysville & Karen Hundley of Bellingham; 3 grandchildren, Kristaan, Randall & Emily Gilbert; several aunts, uncles, nieces & nephews. Funeral services 2 p.m. Wed., at Bethlehem Lutheran Church with Pastors Luther T. Gabrielsen & John Baker officiating. Burial at Marysville Cemetery. DALE, Erik Lee, three months, died suddenly April 22, 1987, in Bellevue. Born Jan. 22, he was the only child of Dean and Ann Lee Dale, who had waited several years for a child. Survivors, besides his parents, are: grandparents, Phil and Joan Schwind of Richland and Dale and Alice Lee of Everson; a great-grandmother, Esther Connelly of Bellingham; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Graveside services were held Monday, April 27, at Sunset Hill Cemetery, followed by a Mass of Angels at St. Louise Church in Bellevue.

DALE, Gerald L. "Jerry" age 56, of Sumas, passed away on June 24, 1989, of an apparent heart attack while working with his wife for the summer in Lytle Creek, California. A Masonic memorial service will be conducted on Thursday, July 6, at 7 p.m. in the Nooksack Masonic Temple on E. 2nd Street. Mr. Dale was born in Hagerstown, Ind., on May 29, 1933. He joined the Air Force at age 18 and served for four years in Fairbanks, Alaska. There he met and married Burta Johnson in 1955. The couple moved to Quincy, Wash., where they farmed and had three daughters. He moved to Auburn in 1967 and worked for Boeing. He also operated his own hay hauling business. He moved to Everson in 1971 to become a shopkeeper and butcher at Everson Serv-U and Van Buren Store. He also leased and operated Caribou Bowl in Sumas. In 1976 the Dales adopted two more daughters. He worked for Davies Realty in Sumas and in 1980 opened and brokered Your Realty. He is survived by his wife, Burta; five daughters, Debbie Hauschild, Laura Sines, Lisa Lankhaar, Judi Guttman and Traci Smith; six granddaughters and two grandsons; two brothers, Warren Dale of Sumas and Lewis Dale of Silverstreet, S.C.; three sisters, Shirley Moyser of Quincy, Iona Cromis of Lytle Creek, Calif., and Margaret Burke of Silverstreet, S.C.; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews; and "love adoptions" Teresa Carasella, Theresa Crellins, Linda Smith and Pam Morrisey, all of British Columbia.

DALE, George S., age 87, who resided at 1677 Loomis Trail Road, Custer, passed away in a local hospital Sunday, May 1, 1983. He leaves to survive his wife Ida of Custer; 1 son, Ervin Hillues of Marysville; 2 daughters, Violet Gardner of Everson, Ruth House of Snohomish; 2 brothers, Norman Dale and Roy Dale, both of Canada; 1 sister, Mae Alexander of California; 4 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Mr. Dale was a life time resident of Whatcom County and was a member of the VFW Post 1585. Funeral services were held Wednesday, May 4 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Leonard Ericksen officiating, followed by cremation under the direction of Jerns LeVeck Funeral Chapel & Crematorium.

DALE, Ida O., 86, died Tuesday at a Stanwood nursing home, where she had been a resident. At her request, no services will be held. She was born Ida Christofferson June 2, 1903, in Oslo, Norway. She came to the Bellingham area when she was 12. At 16, she entered nursing school. She was a homemaker and a Whatcom County resident for 73 years. She belonged to the Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary, Bellingham No. 19. Her husband, George Dale, died in 1983. A son, Ervin Hillius, died in 1986. Mrs. Dale is survived by two daughters, Violet Gardner of Everson and Ruth House of Camano Island; three granddaughters; two grandsons; and numerous great-grandchildren. Burial was at Greenacres Memorial Park.

DALE, Ivy R., age 81, Deming, passed away Monday, August 9, (1965). Mrs. Dale was a sixty-year resident of Whatcom County. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Alma Riddle; one grandson, Duane Riddle and four great-grandchildren. Services will be conducted by rev. Don McVickers Friday, August 13 at 3 p.m. at the Jones Funeral Home. Cremation will follow.

DALE, James Collin, age 73 years, of Glacier Star Route, passed away at his family home, Monday morning, March 31, (1947) following a lingering illness. Mr. Dale had been a resident of Whatcom County for the past seventeen years, formerly residing in Anacortes. He was a retired brick layer, a member of the Spanish-American War Veterans Camp at large. He is survived by wife, Sarah Dale; three brothers, Charles, Sheridan and John Dale, all of Gallipolis, Ohio; two sisters, Mrs. Katherine Prose, of Huntington, West Virginia, Mrs. Farry De Witt, of Salina, Kansas. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, April 3, at 10:30 a.m. within the Cathedral Chapel of the Westford-Beck Funeral Home with Dr. Robert T. McFarlane, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church officiating, followed by the ritualistic services of the United Spanish-American War Veterans, Weisenburger Camp No. 8. Interment in Greenacres Memorial Cemetery.

DALE, James F., Captain, 35, formerly of Bellingham and New Rochelle, NY, was killed when his B-29 was shot down in a bombing raid on Korea. The air force notified Mrs. Dale, the former Bernice Rose of this area, in Seattle yesterday of her husband's death. Capt. Dale was previously reported missing. Born and reared in New Rochelle, he came to Bellingham after the last war in which he was a flyer, and worked as a chemist at Puget Sound Pulp & Timber company. While employed at the Pulp company for nearly two years, Dale made his home on the Goshen road. He volunteered to return to active duty and left Bellingham about three years ago.

DALE, James M., age 75, passed away at his home, 709 Eleventh Street, Saturday, Jan. 29, (1949). Mr. Dale had resided in this community for the past 38 years and was a retired stationary engineer, having been with the Cascade Laundry for seventeen years, and also was employed at the P.A.F. for eight years. Deceased was a member of the South Side Methodist Church, and leaves to survive, one sister, Mrs. Edith Martin, and one sister-in-law, Mrs. John H. Mitchell, both of Des Moines, Iowa. The remains are at the funeral home of Harlow-Hollingsworth, where services will be conducted by the Rev. Paul Woodward Wednesday, February 2, at 1:00 p.m. Final resting place, Greenacres Memorial Park.

DALE, Robert R., of Bellingham, passed away on Sunday, December 12, 2004. He was born on September 6, 1947, in Seattle, WA, to James and Bernice Dale. DALE, Ronald Leo, age 87, of Deming, passed away in a local hospital Friday, May 29, (1959). Mr. Dale had been a resident of this community for the past 40 years and was a retired barber. Survivors are his widow, Ivy R., at home; one daughter, Mrs. Alma Riddle, of Deming; 3 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. The remains rest at the Jones Funeral Home where services will be conducted by the Rev. Kenneth Turney Tuesday, June 2 at 3:00 p.m. followed by cremation.

DALE, Viola V., age 73, of 709 Eleventh Street, passed away in a local hospital, Thursday, April 4, (1946). Mrs. Dale had been a resident of this community for the past 36 years and was a member of the Methodist Church. Surviving relatives are the husband, James M., at home; two sisters, Mrs. J. H. Mitchell, of Fort Dodge, Iowa, and Mrs. J. R. Underwood, of Fort Bragg, N.C. The remains are at the funeral home of Harlow-Hollingsworth where services will be conducted by the Rev. James M. DALENIUS, Bertha A. - A funeral service for Berta (sic) E. Dalenius of Bellingham will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Greenacres Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Gary Dalenius officiating. Burial will follow in Greenacres Memorial Park. Mrs. Dalenius died Wednesday, Feb. 17, 1999 in Bellingham. She was 98. She was born Feb. 9, 1901 in Timra, Sweden to Alec and Lydia Naslund. On March 6, 1926, she married Duluth Dalenius in Port Alice, B.C. The following year, they moved to Bellingham. She was preceded in death by her husband in February 1982, and by a daughter, Elsie in 1972. Survivors include her son, Geran Dalenius of Bellingham; eight grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. Arrangements are by Moles Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Ferndale.

DALEY, Richard J., age 46 years, passed away suddenly at Strandell Camp No. 966, Wednesday morning December 3, (1947). Mr. Daley was employed by the Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Paul & Pacific Railroad Company, was a veteran of World War II and a member of the Catholic Church. There are no known survivors. Requiem mass will be said within the Church of the Assumption Friday, December 12, at 8:15 a.m. with the Rt. Rev. Mesgr. J. G. Stafford, celebrant. DALEY, William J., 82, of Bellingham, passed away Thurs. Oct. 22, 1992 at St. Francis Ext. Health Care. Born May 30, 1910 in Melrose Park, IL to Charles and Lillian Daley. Mr. Daley was an avid golfer, in 1929 he was the Cook Co. Amateur Golf Champion. He also enjoyed carpenter work and gardening. Preceded in death by his wife Rose Daley, Mar. 17, 1983. Survived by Domenica Daley of Melrose Park. IL; 3 sons, James C. and wife Judy Daley of Alexandria, VA, Michael W. Daley and friend Nanette Martin of Seattle, and Brian J. Daley of Bellingham, WA; 2 daughters, Therese L. and husband James W. Bagley of Bellingham, Wa. and Sharon R. and husband Patrick Custardo of Melrose Park, IL; a brother Matthew Daley and wife Charelyn of Homewood, IL; a sister, Marcella Prim of winter Haven, FL; 5 grandchildren and numerous relatives. DALIAN, Elsa Viola - Graveside services for Elsa Viola Dalian, 71, formerly Mrs. R. C. Endicott, of Oroville, who died March 15, 1982 were held Fri., March 19 at 2 p.m. in Memorial Park Cemetery. Mrs. Dalian was born Sept. 28, 1910, in Rockford, Ill. When 5 years of age she moved to Dawson Creek, Canada, and to Bellingham, Wa., when she was 18 years old. A resident of Calif. for a number of years, she came to Oroville from San Leandro 13 years ago. Mrs. Dalian was a member of Wyandotte Grange No. 495. Her husband, Ramada preceded her in death. Surviving are 3 daughters, Patricia Endicott of Chico, Betty Call of Bellingham and Alice Toto of Irvine; a son, Rex Endicott of Bellingham; 2 brothers, Arnold Johnson of Dawson Creek and Robert Johnson of British Columbia; a sister, Helen Lafon of Prince George, B.C.; 9 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren. Members of Wyandodotte Grange conducted the services.

DALKE, Robert H., 75, of 4158 Ankar Park, No. 24, Bellingham, died Saturday (July 27, 1991) at home. A memorial service was held Sunday at the Ankar Park Community Center. Mr. Dalke, a retired minister who worked in Latin America from 1941 to 1981, was born May 1, 1916, in Herbert, Saskatchewan, Canada. He married Ruth Hanson on Sept. 4, 1938, in Saskatchewan. He was a member of the Bellingham Evangelical Free Church and had a special interest in music. His hobbies included electronics and woodworking. Mr. Dalke had lived in Bellingham since 1990. Survivors include his wife, Ruth Dalke of the family home; daughters, Esther Pegg of Tampa, Fla., and Priscilla Larsen of Seattle; sons, Jon Dalke and James Dalke, both of Miami; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Arrangements are by the Whatcom Cremation Association.

DALLAS, Marshall N., age 57 of 2506 Dakin, passed away Fri. June 26, (1981). Mr. Dallas had resided in Bellingham for the past 15 years; before his retirement he was the manager of Lake Padden Golf Course; veteran of WWII; member of the Bellingham Golf & Country Club; Bellingham Yacht Club & Elks Lodge No. 194. He leaves to survive his wife Jean of the family home; 3 sons, Steve of Bellevue, Jerry & Jon both of this city; 1 daughter, Susan Prather of this city; 5 grandchildren; 1 brother James Dalla of Los Angeles; 1 sister Corabelle Mosher of Redmond, Calif. DALLAS, Ruth Cahoone, 84, died Saturday, June 13, 1992, at the Alderwood Park Convalescent Center. Born January 22, 1908, in Knoxville, Tenn., to Lemuel and Ruth Ann Cahoone. Mrs. Dallas worked as senior secretary at Central High School in Philadelphia for 20 years and was named the school's first honorary alum. She married James L. Dallas in 1935. Mrs. Dallas is survived by three sons, Robert and James Dallas, both of Philadelphia, Lee Dallas, of Bellingham, and eight grandchildren.

DALLMAN, Christine M., 3396 Cedarville Rd., age 83, passed away Monday, Nov. 4, (1974). A 10 year resident, Mrs. Dallmann (sic) was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Minnesota. Surviving are 3 daughters, Mrs. Ruth Russell, City, Mrs. Rose Marie O'Brien of Bettendorf, Iowa and Mrs. Violet Brown of Pinehurst, Idaho; 13 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Mrs. Rose Summers and Mrs. Ruby Zimmerman both of Nicoletti, Minn. Services will be conducted by Rev. Carl O. Fischer Thursday, Nov. 7 at 10:30 a.m. at the Jones Funeral Home. Cremation.

DALLUGE, Justine Edwards - Funeral services for Justine Edwards Dalluge, age 84, of 2711 Grant St., will be Wed. April 26 at 10 a.m. at the Jones Funeral Home with Rev. F. W. Hutchinson, officiating. Interment to follow in Bayview Cemetery. Mrs. Dalluge passed away Fri. April 21, 1989. She was born Nov. 9, 1904 in St. Michaels, Alaska and had been a resident of Bellingham since 1948. DALLY, Georgia C., age 80, of Mt. Vernon passed away Sat. Feb. 17, 1979 in Mt. Vernon. Born in Missouri Dec. 23, 1898. She was married to Leo C. Dally Nov. 25, 1922 in Everett. Member of the First Christian Church, past matron of Mt. Baker Chapter No. 50 Order of Eastern Star, past royal matron of Amaranth. Survivors: husband, Leo C. of Mt. Vernon. Daughters, Mrs. Carol Gilberts of Seattle. 2 sons; Leo C. Dally Jr. of Bothell & Kenneth Dally of Mt. Vernon. 8 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren. Funeral services Wed. DALLY, Leo Charles, Sr., 90, of Mount Vernon, died Friday (April 1, 1988) at Skagit Valley Hospital and Health Center. Dally was a Bellingham resident from 1923 to 1929. He was born Oct. 14, 18978 in Bryan, Ohio, the son of Edward and Eva Dally. He came to Seattle in 1915 and worked for Western Auto. He transferred to Everett in 1921 and then to Bellingham. Mr. Dally moved to Mount Vernon in 1929. He married Georgia Cave Nov. 25, 1922 in Everett. She died in 1979. Mr. Dally married Nellie Eddins in Reno, Nev., on July 9, 1979. He owned and operated Dally Sales and Service in Mount Vernon. He was a member of the First Christian Church and attended His Place. Mr. Dalley was a member of several civic organizations, including the Mount Vernon Rotary Club, where he had 40 years of perfect attendance. He is survived by his wife, Nellie, of Mount Vernon; daughter and son-in-law Carol and Bennette Gilberts, Bellingham; foster daughter and her husband Sandra and Jerry Vincent, Everett; son and daughter-in-law Leo and Geraldine Dally, Bothell; sister Gertrude Smeyers, Indiana; daughter-in-law Toni Dally of Burlington; 13 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Kenneth, in 1984. Services will be at Kern Funeral Home Chapel, Mount Vernon, on Tuesday at 2 p.m. Cremation follow[s] at Mount Vernon Crematorium.

DALMAN, Charles, age 80, of 1900 G Street, passed away Thursday, June 14, (1951). Mr. Dalman had resided in this community for the past 39 years and was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church. Surviving relatives are one son, Paul, in New Jersey; two daughters, Miss Adelaide Dalman and Mrs. Otis Wright in Seattle. One sister, Mrs. Minnie Bauck, of Penticton, B.C.; two brothers, Martin and Christ, both in Minnesota, and numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Dalman had resided in this community for the past 37 years and was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church. DALOISIO, James "Jim", 25, of 4005 Aldergrove Rd., Ferndale, passed away suddenly Tues., Feb. 26, 1980. Jim had been a resident of Ferndale for 14 years, was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church of Ferndale, a graduate of Ferndale High School, class of 1972, and a member of the Musicians Union. He is survived by his parents, Edward & Wilma Daloisio of Ferndale, grandmothers, Mrs. George Stanley of Warren, OH, Mrs. James Daloisio of Niles, OH. Funeral services will be conducted by Rev. DALOISIO, Wilma E. - A funeral service for Wilma E. Daloisio of Ferndale will be at 2 p.m. Sat. at Moles Funeral Home with the Rev. Jon Mutchler officiating. Private burial will be in Enterprise Cemetery. Mrs. Daloisio died Wed., May 13, 1998. She was 77. Born Sept. 17, 1920 to George and Gertrude Standly in Farmdale, Ohio, she graduated from Johnson High School in Johnson, Ohio, in 1938. She married Edward Daloisio in 1944 in Atlantic City, NJ. A member of Fraternal Order of Foresters she attended Ferndale Alliance Church. Mrs. Daloisio enjoyed flower arranging and cooking. Her son, Jim Daloisio, died in 1980. Survivors include her husband of Ferndale, son Mike Wetsch of Ferndale; sisters Bonnie Bump of Mecca, Ohio; and Cristy Lewis of Cortland, Ohio; brother Simon Standly of Farmdale, Ohio; two grandchildren and many other relatives.

DALQUEST, David G., age 49, 2845 Seaview Circle, passed away in a Seattle hospital Tuesday, January 28, (1964). Mr. Dalquest was a twenty-eight year resident of this community, and was a Custom House Broker and a partner in the Law Firm of Roehl and Dalquest. He was a graduate of the University of Washington School of Law; a member of the Whatcom County Bar Assn.; the Washington State Bar Assn.; Chamber of Commerce; Bellingham Rotary Club; Bellingham Yacht Club; Propeller Club, and Kappa Sigma Fraternity. DALQUEST, Pauline - Visitation for Pauline Dalquest of Bellingham will be from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday at Jones-Moles Funeral Home. Mrs. Dalquest died Tuesday, Dec. 9, 1997, in Bellingham. She was 77. Born Oct. 1, 1920, to Samuel and Clara Smith York in Bellingham, she was a lifelong resident of Whatcom County. She married David Dalquest in 1944 in Bellingham. He died in 1964. Mrs. Dalquest was a secretary for the state Department of Social and Health Services. She was a past president of Bellingham Chamber Music Society and a member of PEO of Bellingham. Survivors include son John Dalquest of Bellingham, sister Theda Larsen of Bellingham and niece Paula Jo Peterson of Kirkland.

DALRYMPLE, Gisela Teichmann died unexpectedly on November 11, 2006 at her home in Bellingham, Washington. She had just celebrated her 80th birthday with a large party, surrounded by family members and friends. Gisela was born in Washington, DC (Oct. 24, 1926) and grew up in the Cleveland Park area of Washington. When she was in high school, the family moved to Bethesda/Chevy Chase in the Maryland suburbs. Her father, Walter O. Teichmann, having emigrated from Germany with an MD degree in 1924, was a distinguished dermatologist and clinical professor at Georgetown University Medical School. Her mother,Wilma, also emigrated from Germany at that time. Gisela decided to become a doctor at the age of six. She pursued this dream, graduated from Cornell University in 1947 and from the medical College of Pennsylvania with an MD degree in 1951. After her internship in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania and residency in Philadelphia, she practiced pediatrics as a solo practitioner in Meadville, Pennsylvania from 1955-1973. While there, she was active in local medical societies and served on the staff of the Meadville City Hospital, where she became President of the Medical Staff. She was a pioneer in incorporating the use of licensed nurse practitioners on her staff to help her with her large patient population. In 1973, having received a fellowship in clinical genetics and developmental disabilities from the University of California at Irvine, she closed her private practice and moved to Santa Ana, California. She became Medical Director of the San Gabriel Valley Regional Center in Pomona and an Assistant Clinical Professor of Pediatrics at the University of California, Irvine. In 1977, she moved to Staten Island, New York where she was appointed Chief of Children's Medicine at the Staten Island Developmental Center and then Director of its Community Care Clinic. In New York, she was appointed Assistant Clinical Professor of pediatrics at Cornell and Columbia University medical schools. In 1982, she moved to Wantagh, on Long Island, where she accepted a position as Medical Director of the United Cerebral Palsy Treatment and Rehabilitation Center in Roosevelt, NY. She remained there until she retired in 1994. She moved to Bellingham in 1995, to be closer to her brother and his family who live in the Seattle area. She had also come to enjoy being in the Pacific Northwest through her visits here. There, she pursued her many hobbies, including her passion for hand weaving and gardening, and consuming interests in alternative healing and tai chi. She was married twice, first to Howard Dalrymple, MD and later to Frederick Krotz, Ph.D. Both marriages ended in divorce. She had no children.
She is survived by a sister Barbara T. Engel of Durango, Colorado and a brother Eberhard Teichmann of Seattle, Washington. Gisela was deeply loved and admired for her energy and wide ranging interests by many family members and friends as well as patients and staff at the places she worked. She was a kind and gentle person as well as professionally accomplished and well regarded by her colleagues. She was a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and the American Academy of Cerebral Palsy and Developmental Disabilities. She was gifted artistically; she drew and painted and enjoyed making all kinds of things, including many of her own clothes, often using her hand woven fabrics. She loved music and at times played the violin and the piano. She is greatly missed. A memorial gathering will take place at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, December 27, 2006 at the Elks Lodge in Bellingham. Everyone who knew her is invited to attend.

DALTON, Edward E., age 90 years, of 1630 Grant Street, passed away in a local hospital Friday, Oct. 24, (1952). He was a retired farmer and a resident of the community for the past 33 years. Mr. Dalton was a member of the Orchard Grange. He leaves to survive a widow, Marie H. Dalton. DALY, Jerold Roger - The husband of Tracey Stone Daly, formerly of Bellingham and Deming, Airman Daly died July 23, (1985) from injuries received when he was struck by a vehicle in Perth, Australia. He was on shore leave from the aircraft carrier USS Constellation, where he was attached to squadron VAQ-139. Survivors include his wife and a son, Daniel Shane, 15 months, both of Oak Harbor; his mother-in-law, Sharon Stone of Deming; his parents; two sisters; a brother; grandparents; and a great-grandmother. DAMERON, Guy Roy - Sedro Woolley - Funeral services for longtime Whatcom County farmer Guy Roy Dameron, who died here Saturday, will be conducted in Bellingham Thursday (Jan. 16, 1960). Mr. Dameron moved to Sedro Woolley in June, 1957. He came to Whatcom County in 1898. He is survived by his widow, Lura; a daughter, Mrs. Cleo Hanson of Seattle; and son, Gayle, Sedro Woolley; two brothers, Ed of Eugene, Ore., and Pala of Seattle; three sisters, Mrs. Jessie Thomas of San Diego, Mrs. Anna Ritchie of Hermiston, Ore., and Mrs. Mabel Jefferies, of Kimberly. DAMERON, Ralph, age 69, Acme, passed away in a local sanitarium Wednesday, January 15, (1964). Mr. Dameron had resided in this community the past seven months, after residing in Tulsa, Oklahoma for thirty-seven years, where he was employed at Traffic Manager for Tidewater Oil Co. before retiring. He was a member of the Traffic Club in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and attended the First Baptist Chruch in that city. Survivors are his widow Mrs. Chrystella Dameron, at home; one daughter, Mrs. Arthur M. Whitmore, and granddaughter, Susan Lynn Whitmore, both of Littleton, Colorado; one brother, Ray J. Dameron, Coffeyville, Kansas; two sisters, Mrs. David W. DAMGAARD, Hans, age 73 years, of Everett, passed away in Everett, Wednesday, May 16, (1962) following an extended illness. Mr. Damgaard had been a resident of the Ferndale community for the past 20 years and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War I. He was a member of the Lutheran Free Church of Ferndale and Kulshan Post No. 154 American Legion. He is survived by his wife, Minnie; one nephew, Harry Damgaard of Oak Harbor. DAMIEN, Dana Daisy - A prayer service for Dana Daisy Damien will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday and a funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, both at Lummi Indian Shaker Church. Burial will follow in Lummi Reservation Cemetery. Ms. Damien died as the result of an automobile accident Saturday, June 17, 1995 in Bellingham. She was 17. Born March 26, 1978, to Alva and Ruby Jefferson Damien in Bellingham, she was a member of the Swinomish and Lummi tribes. Ms. Davien was a sophomore at Lummi Tribal High School, where she was an honor student. She enjoyed listening to music and caring for her nieces and nephews. She hoped to become a pediatric nurse. An adopted member of a South Dakota tribe, she received an Indian name in 1992. She was preceded in death by her father. Survivors include her mother, Ruby Jefferson Boome of Bellingham; sisters Rita Boome Jefferson, Loralei Boome, Irma Boome and Pauline Damien, all of Bellingham; Alma Damien of Seattle and Andrea Mayo of New Hampshire; brothers Charles Boome of Sedro-Woolley, James Jefferson III, Justin Burgett, James Morris, Lindy Morris and Joe Morris, all of Bellingham, Walter Damien of LaConner and Jason Mayo of New Hampshire; grandfather the Rev. DAMON, Hazel Ora Josephine - Graveside services for Hazel Ora Josephine Damon, 85, a former Bellingham resident, will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Bayview Cemetery, with the Rev. Woody Thomson officiating. She died Saturday (July 1, 1989) at Modern Care Nursing Home in Seattle. She was born Oct. 21, 1903, in Mesick, Mich., and lived at 1506 I St. in Bellingham from 1929-67. She was a homemaker. Survivors include two sisters, Esther Shaw and Ruth Jackson, both of Seattle; one niece, Viola Thomson of Seattle; and numerous other relatives. DAMON, Mary Ann, age 74, passed away at the family home, 1506 I Street, Sunday, April 16, (1950). Mrs. Damon had resided in this community for the past 21 years and was a member of the Methodist Church and W.C.T.U. DAN, Morris D., age 74, LaConner resident died in Anacortes Tues. May 26, (1981). He was born in LaConner Dec. 10, 1906. He was educated in the Tulalip Indian School and worked in the Swinomish area in lumbering & commercial fishing. He married Bertha W. George in Mt. Vernon July 18, 1929. He was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church of Swinomish and had served on the council of the Swinomish Tribe for many years. Survivors are his wife Bertha of LaConner; 1 daughter, Mrs. Maurine Martin of Omak; 2 sons, Alvin Dan of LaConner & Philip Dan of Vancouver, Wa.; 15 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren and nieces & nephews. DANA, Horace Woodworth, age 86, of Orcas Island, passed away in a local hospital, Monday, April 21, (1947). Mr. Dana had been a resident of that community for the past fifteen years and was a member of the Presbyterian Church. Surviving relatives are the widow, Martha M., at home; one daughter, Mrs. Marjorie D. Mahone, of Seattle, and one grandson, James Mahone, of Seattle. DANBY, Ronald, age 79, of Blaine, passed away Sun., Jan. 5th, (1986) in the Icelandic Nursing Home. DANCER, Isabell Fern, 63, former Skagit County resident died at her home in Bellingham on Wednesday, October 28, 1992. Born on October 17, 1929 in Anacortes, WA, her birth parents died when she was an infant and she was raised by Nels and Maude Theodorsen of Mount Vernon. She attended Avon grade school and Mount Vernon High School. She was married to Keith Van Allen and he preceded her in death in 1973. Mrs. Dancer was an LPN and worked in various nursing homes. She was also preceded in death by a son, Charles who was killed in action in Viet Nam in 1968 and an infant daughter Elaine. She was a member of the Church of Christ of Latter Day Saints. Survivors include a daughter Lisa at the family home; 1 sister and brother-in-law, Belatta and Vernon Green of Weott, California; 2 brothers and 1 sister-in-law, Albert Lavine of Mukilteo and Edward and Dorothy Lavine of Mount Vernon, a nephew Sean Wintink and niece, Courtney Wintink both of Mount Vernon. Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 30, 1992 at 11:00 a.m. at Hawthorne Funeral Chapel. Bishop C. Arlo Fillmore will officiate. Private interment will be held at Hawthorne Memorial Park. DANCEY, Charles Carmen, age 64, of 27424 Fairmont Ave., Canyon County, Calif., passed away in Bellingham Fri., Sept. 11th, (1987). He was born Feb. 12, 1923 in Chicago and had been traveling in the area and staying at Birch Bay. He is survived by his wife, Carol Dancey of the Family home; step-son, Steven Widner of Calif. DANDLIKER, Hazel M., 86, passed away January 13, 1997 in Lacey, Washington. Hazel was born July 24, 1910 in Portal, North Dakota to Allen and Jean Campbell Morden. After high school Hazel graduated in 1929 from State University in Minot, ND with certificates in secondary education and music. She taught school until her marriage to Lloyd William Dandliker November 24, 1932. From Portal, Hazel and Lloyd moved to the oil fields of Kevin, Mont. and in 1941 to Bellingham, WA where she resided 43 years. She moved to Lacey, WA in 1984. Hazel had lived with her daughter, Mrs. Sandra Bell and family for several years before her passing. Hazel was very committed to her children Sandra Bell of Lacey, and son Bill Dandliker of Mount Vernon, WA as well as her 10 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. Her spare time was enjoyed through travel and music playing, both piano and organ. Corresponding with family, reading and crossword puzzles were enjoyed until her death. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, January 17, 1997 at Greenacres in Ferndale, Washington. Her Grandson by marriage, Pastor Scott Rockwell of Moses Lake, WA will officiate.

DANDLIKER, Lloyd William, age 84 of 2725 East Fir, Sp. 5, Mt. Vernon, Wa. passed away Wed., July 11, 1990 at home. He was born April 1, 1906 in Bemidji, Minn. to William and Isadora Dandliker. As a small child he moved to Fairdale, North Dakota with his family and then to Mohall, N.D. where he was raised in Hamlet Township and attended school. Mr. Dandliker also attended tech. school in Whapelton, N.D. He married Hazel Morden of Partal, N.D. in 1932, lived on a farm near Mohall, and later moved to Kevin, Montana where he worked in the oil fields for Big West Co. and then to Bellingham where he worked in the shipyard and was employed by Theil's Plumbing for 27 years. Mr. Dandliker was an avid fisherman, hunter and traveled extensively. He was interested in all sports and belonged to the National Rifleman Assoc., Sportsman Club, Elks Lodge, Moose Lodge and the Plumbers & Steamfitters Union Local No. 40. He enjoyed his family and friends. Survivors are a daughter, Sandra & husband Tom Bell of Lacey, Wa.; son Bill & wife Pam Dandliker of Mt. Vernon, Wa.; 2 brothers and 4 sisters, Walter & Louise Dandliker, Ted & Doris Dandliker, Bertha Schelling, Mae Chesrown, Clara & Walt Beckedahl, Claudia & Henry Skardall, 10 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. DANDLIKER, Walter Clarence, of 2356 Cherry St. died Thursday, July 16, 1993 in Bellingham. He was 89. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Greenacres Memorial Chapel with Pastor Pete Haldaas officiating. Following the service, there will be a reception at the Grace Community Church. The eldest of seven children, Mr. Dandliker was born July 29, 1903, in Bemidji, Minn., to William and Isadora Dandliker. When he was 12, his family moved to Fairdale, N.D. He and his father traveled the 600 miles on foot with horse-drawn wagons holding their belongings, while his mother and younger sisters traveled by train. They later settled in Mohall, N.D., where he worked on the family farm and attended school in Hamlet Township. As a young man, he worked in the Big West Oil fields near Shelby, Mont. There he met his future wife, Louise Jorgensen. They were married Sept. 26, 1940, in Great Falls, Mont., and moved to Bellingham in 1942, where their two sons were born. He was a member of the Plumbing and Steamfitters Union Local No. 40. Mr. Dandliker had several jobs, including working for Weldit Tank & Steel and doing defense work at the Bellingham Shipyards before his 20-year employment at Bellingham Cold Storage. His main interests in life were his family and his church, where he was an active member and an elder. His family will remember fondly his sense of humor, his stories and his love of children. Youths of all ages were always welcome in his Cherry Street home. Survivors include his wife, Louise, at the family home; two sons, Richard of Bellingham and gene of White Bird, Idaho; a brother, Ted, of Nampa, Idaho; four sisters, Bertha Schelling and Mae Chesrown, both of Bellingham, Clara, of Sherwood, N.D., and Claudia Skordal, of Springdale, Ark.; three grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.

DANDLIKER, William G., 85, of 257 N. Garden, passed away at his residence Friday, Oct. 17, (1958) following a short illness. Mr. Dandliker had been a resident of Bellingham the past 15 years and was a retired farmer, a member of the Lutheran Church, Masonic Lodge F&AM in Bemidji, Minnesota. He leaves to survive his wife, Isadora Dandliker; 3 sons, Walter C. and Lloyd W., both of Bellingham; Ted of Ferdig, Montana; 4 daughters, Bertha N. Schelling, Bellingham; Mrs. George Chesrown of Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin; Mrs. Walter Beckedahl, Sherwood, North Dakota; Mrs. Henry Skordal of Petoskey, Michigan; 7 brothers, Ferd of Fall City, Nebraska; Louis, of Omaha, Nebraska; Harry, of Hiawatha, Kansas; Charles and Walter, Sabatha, Kansas; Oscar, of St. Joseph, Missouri; 2 sisters, Mrs. Mary W. Walburn, Sabetha (sic), Kansas, and Mrs. Freda Smith, of Lincoln, Nebraska. Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, Oct. 21, at 11 a.m. within the Chapel of the Westford Funeral Home with Dr. W. Carl Calhoun, pastor of the Congregational Church, officiating. DANFORTH, Nicholas Jr., 26, of 133 E. 80th Street, New York City, N.Y. passed away Sunday, July 4, (1954) as the result of an accident. Mr. Danforth had been a student at the University of Washington Law School in the past year. He was a veteran and a member of the Central Presbyterian Church in New York. He is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Nicholas Danforth Sr., in New York, 1 sister, Miss Joan Danforth also of New York City. The remains were forwarded by the Bingham-Dahlquist & Jerns Funeral Home to New York City for services and interment.

D'ANGELO, Jeanne Smith, died Saturday, July 10, 1993, following heart surgery in Cleveland. She was 67. Burial will be held Wednesday in Niagara Falls, N.Y. Born Oct. 28, 1925, in Ferndale to Josephine and H. B. Smith, she graduated from West Mountain View grade school in 1938, and Ferndale High School in 1942. She went on the graduate from St. Joseph Nursing School in Bellingham in 1945. Mrs. D'Angelo worked as a nurse in Niagara Falls, N.Y., and continued to be on call following her retirement. Survivors include her husband, Alfred D'Angelo of Niagara Falls; daughters Marianne D'Angelo of Bellingham, Diane D'Angelo of Dover, N.H., and Judith D'Angelo of New York, N.Y.; sons Robert D'Angelo of Westport, Wash., and James D'Angelo of Kansas City, Mo.; sisters Louise Flor and Margaret Mendoza, both of Seattle, and Mary Day of Ferndale; two grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

DANIEL, Amos Elzie, age 90, passed away at the family home, Route 5, Box 270, Bellingham, Wednesday, September 20, (1950). Mr. Daniel had been a resident of that community for the past 38 years and was a retired millwright. Deceased was a member of the Garden Street Methodist Church and leaves to survive two sons, Harry W., of Bellingham, and Arthur L., of Seattle; three daughters, Mrs. Alta M. Werfer, at home; Mrs. Gladys Daniel, of Los Angeles, Calif., and Mrs. Nora Kelly, of Mohave, Calif.; 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; two brothers, Grant of Petaluma, Calif., and Frank, of Parsons, Kansas; also numerous nieces and nephews, one of whom is Noah Heller, of Maple Falls. DANIEL, Harriet Elizabeth passed away following a short illness at the family home, 1341 Humboldt Street, Wednesday, December 10, (1941). Mrs. Daniel had been a resident of Bellingham for thirty-nine years and was a member of the Methodist Church in Walnut Grove, Ohio and a member of the Daughters of the Union Veterans of Bellingham. Her survivors are her husband, Amos E. Daniel; two sons, Arthur L. and Harry W. Daniel, of Bellingham; three daughters, Mrs. Alta M. Wefer, Lake Samish, Mrs. Gladys Daniel, Los Angeles, Calif., and Mrs. William Kelly, Bishop, Calif.; one brother, Frank Ward, St. Mary's, Ohio; one sister, Mrs. George Sunderland, Lima, Ohio; nine grandchildren and one nephew, Noah Heller, of Maple Falls, Wash. DANIEL, Harry Ward, age 71, of 2658 Nevada, passed away in a local hospital Saturday, Nov. 18, (1961). Mr. Daniel had been a resident of this community for the past 49 years and was a retired stationary fireman, having worked at the Bellingham coal mine. DANIEL, Leah Grace - Graveside services for lifelong Whatcom County resident Leah Grace Daniel, 85, were schedules for 3 p.m. today at Greenacres Memorial Park. Mrs. Daniel died Tuesday (June 4, 1991) at Mount Baker Care Center. She was born Leah Bailey on Oct. 4, 1905, in Nooksack. Her husband, Harry Daniel, died earlier. Mrs. Daniel worked as a custodian and volunteered for the Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) in Bellingham. She also was a volunteer for Bellingham Transit. Survivors include her son, Allen Daniels (sic) of Ferndale; two brothers, Herbert Lee Harvey of Smokey Point and Marvin R. Harvey of Delaware; her sister, Maxine Cruikshank of Seattle; six grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. Arrangements are by Greenacres Funeral Home.

DANIELS, Alton, 80, of Anacortes, died of kidney failure at Bellingham's St. Joseph Hospital on Saturday, November 25, 1989, in the presence of his loving family. Alton was born in Stanwood on May 19, 1909, to Alfred and Louise Daniels, the second of their three children. He was graduated from the Stanwood school system and the Bellingham Business college. He lived for over 50 years in Anacortes and was employed at Coos Bay Pulp Corporation and Scott Paper Co. from 1936 to 1972. When he retired, he was chief shift supervisor for the Scott Paper co. in Anacortes. He was a longtime member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles and of the Elks Club in Anacortes, as well as an active volunteer for the Anacortes Senior Citizen Center. He was preceded in death by his parents and by his brother, Emery. He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Mabel M. Daniels, of Anacortes; his son and daughter-in-law, Donald B. and Marguerite Daniels of Olympia; his daughter and son-in-law, Sandra L. and Carl Jones of Mt. Vernon; his step-son and daughter-in-law, Douglas J. and Alfa Jackson of Burlington; his sister, Evelyn Lervick of Everett; his grandchildren, Lori Dreisen of Ephrata, William Edwards of Odessa, Molly K. DANIELS, Amber V., age 68, of 445 High St., passed away in a local hospital, Monday, Aug. 14, (1961). A resident of Bellingham for 30 years, Miss Daniels was an elementary school teacher in the Midwest prior to 1930 at which time she moved to Bellingham and was housemother of Daniels Hall for 23 years. She was a member of the Washington Education Assn. Survivors are two sisters, Mrs. Joyce Harris, of Burlington and Mrs. Beverly Crandall, of Las Vegas, Nev.; one brother, C. E. Daniels, of Riverside, Calif.; four nieces. The remains rest at the Jones Funeral Home where services will be conducted by the Rev. Harold E. Penhaulrick, Thursday, Aug. 17, at 10:30 a.m., followed by cremation.

DANIELS, Arthur L. Sr., age 57, of 10810 37th St., Seattle, passed away at home, Friday, Nov. 29, (1951). Mr. Daniels had resided in that city for the past three years and had been employed by the Shell Oil Co. Deceased had been a former resident of Bellingham for 36 years; had been a member of the Garden St. Methodist Church and a member of Albert J. Hamilton Post No. 7, American Legion. Surviving relatives are his widow, Ruth, at home; one son, Arthur L. DANIELS, Bertha Maude, age 81 years, of Lynden, passed away in a local hospital Monday, Feb. 21, (1955) following a lingering illness. She had been a resident of Lynden for the past 44 years and was a member of the Home Demonstration Club. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Edna Hess of Wenatchee and Mrs. Dorothy Bruns of Lynden; one son, Walter E. of Newcastle, Wyo.; four grandchildren and sic great-grandchildren. DANIELS, Bertha May, age 76 who resided at 119 Samish Highway passed away at her residence Sunday, September 20, (1959) following a brief illness. Mrs. Daniels resided in Bellingham for the past 40 years except for 6 years she resided in Huntington, Indiana and was the widow of the late O. B. Daniels. She was a member of the Church of truth, also a member of the Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary, Chapter 19 of Bellingham. She leaves to survive one son, Eugene H. Troutner of Bellingham; 3 sisters, Mrs. Iva Gossage of Bellingham, Mrs. Nettie Johnson of San Jose, Calif., 1 brother, Earl Hicks of Washington, also 3 stepdaughters, Mrs. Lucille Tillman of Indiana, Mrs. Maxine Mick of South Carolina, Mrs. Marjorie Putman of Indiana, 1 stepson, O. Blaine Daniels of Indiana, also numerous other relatives. DANIELS, Clara, age 88 years, Twenty-sixth and Taylor Streets, passed away at a local hospital, Saturday, June 25, (1949) after a brief illness. Mrs. Daniels had been a resident of Bellingham for the past 61 years, and was a member of the local Pension League. She was also a member of the Methodist church in Massachusetts. Surviving relatives include, her son, Harry Daniels, Bellingham, and three grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at the Bingham-Dahlquist & Jerns Funeral Home, Wednesday, June 29, at 2 p.m. with Rev. James Martyn Wilson, officiating, followed by cremation.

DANIELS, Dorothee S., age 69, Alger area resident, died August 28, (1981) in Sedro Woolley. Born March 12, 1912 in Canada, she came to Whatcom County in the early 1920's. Her husband Kenneth preceded her in death in 1978. She is survived by 2 nephews, D. H. Petry & Larry Petry of Yakima. Memorial services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, September 2 at St. James Episcopal Church, Sedro Woolley. Mrs. Daniels will lie in state at the Lemley Chapel until noon on Wednesday.

DANIELS, Elmer Lysle, age 65, of 1745 James S., passed away Saturday, August 15, (1964). A 17 year resident of Bellingham, Mr. Daniels was a retired millworker having formerly been employed at the Robinson Mill. He was a veteran of World War I; was a member of the Ketchikan Post No. 3, American Legion; the Lumber and Sawmill Worker's Union, Local 2667 and attended the First Baptist Church. Survivors are his widow, Ruby Estella Daniels at home; four brothers, Samuel of Los Angeles, Ralph of Ocean Lake, Oregon, Hugh of Sultan, Wash., and Alvin of Ketchikan; numerous nieces and nephews including Shirley Daniels of Deming. Private services will be conducted by the Rev. Dr. Stuart P. Benson Wednesday, August 19 at 1:00 p.m. at the Jones Funeral Home followed by cremation.

DANIELS, Emily, 91, died Monday, December 12, (1994) in Bellingham. She was born November 22, 1903 in Czechoslovakia to John and Louise Horak and was a resident of Bellingham for 21 years. She lived in the Leopold Hotel from March 1991 and at St. Francis Extended Care since October of this year. Mrs. Daniels was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis Wright Daniels, who died in 1973. They were long time residents of Gardena, CA. She was a past member of the Order of the Eastern Star of Gardena. Survivors include a son, John Daniels of Bellingham; daughter, Nancy Anderson of Redlands, CA; sister, Mae Murray of Tacoma; four grandchildren, Doug Daniels and Michelle Willet of Bellingham, Ian MacLeod of Berkeley, CA and Wendy MacLeod of Palo Alto, CA. Funeral service will be held Wednesday, December 21, 1994 at 2:00 p.m. St. Paul's Episcopal Church with Fr. John W. Gibbs officiating. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park, Gardena, CA. DANIELS, Harry W. - The son of William & Clara Daniels, was born in old Fairhaven Sept. 26, 1899. Attended school at Old Larrabee, Lowell & Old Fairhaven. He spent his youth pitching wheat & driving a team of horses in the Alberta prairie and was a cowhand for the Switzler ranch in the Horse Heaven of Washington State. He returned to Bellingham at the age of 23 and began working on the docks as a longshoreman. His first 11 years were spent in the "open shop". He later was instrumental in organizing the ILWU Local No. 7 in 1934. During his 42 years as a Longshoreman he traveled representing the union including trips to France & Africa. He retired in 1965, but remained interested & involved as a pensioner the rest of his life. He met his wife of 54 years Lillian "Girlie" Fisher in 1927 in Bellingham and they were married Jan. 2, 1935. They spent their entire married life in south Bellingham, and were active members of the South Side Community Club. He took great pride in his family. His hobbies included hunting, rerigging saddles, and reading. He enjoyed a lifelong love for the outdoors and all horses, including his two horses, "Tom & Joe". He leaves to survive his wife Lillian of the family home; 1 son, Harry Michael & wife Karyn Daniels of Bellingham; 2 daughters, Joan & husband Guy Williams of Bellingham & Linda & husband Richard King of Bellingham; 6 grandchildren, Brittin & Jess Daniels, Tyson King, Lori Williams, Darren & wife Kelly Williams, Julie & husband Pat Pitsch; 2 great grandsons, Garrett Williams & Rory Pitsch. Funera services will be conducted Thurs. Sept. 14, 1:30 p.m. in the Chapel of the Westford Funeral Home.

DANIELS, Josiah H., aged 75 years, passed away at a local hospital, Sunday, February 13, (1938) following a long illness. Mr. Daniels had been a resident here for the past eighteen months, making his home at 810 Baker Street. Previous to his removal here he resided at Edison, Wash., for fifty years and followed the occupation of carpenter. Surviving relatives are two sisters, Alice Dumert, Seattle, and Rose E. Stump, of this city; also a number of nieces and nephews. The remains are resting at the funeral home of Harlow-Hollingsworth where funeral services will be conducted by the Rev. James M. Wilson, Tuesday, February 15, at 1 p.m. Cremation.

DANIELS, Kenneth P., age 61 a resident of Parson Creek Rd. near Alger died at his home Mon. (Feb. 13, 1978). Was born April 1, 1916 in Fresno, Calif. He was a retired state highway engineer, he was a member of the Silver Run Grange, the Mt. Vernon Elks. Survived by his wife Dorothee. Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at St. James Church in Sedro Woolley. Cremation was held.

DANIELS, Miles W. "Shorty", age 85, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Tuesday, November 25, 2008. Shorty was born March 14, 1923 in Burlington, Washington, the thirteenth child of Miles N. and Louisa Emily (Wampler) Daniels. He worked various Truck Driving jobs before working at Intalco for twenty years retiring in 1988. Shorty enjoyed camping and fishing with his family and friends and was an avid Seattle Mariner fan. He always enjoyed a good Barbeque with his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his son Kelly S. Daniels in 1973. Shorty leaves behind his wife of 58 years Donna, daughters, Karen of Bellingham and Kathy of Ferndale; son, Kevin and wife Harmonie of Blaine; 4 grandsons, Kelly and wife Kim, Joshua, Jared and Phil; 1 grand daughter Michele and husband Todd, 2 great grandchildren and his very loyal dog Charlie. A celebration of his life will be held at a later announced date at Hovander Park, Ferndale. Arrangements under the care of Valley Funeral & Cremation Service, Guide Meridian and King Tut roads.

DANIELS, Nettie F., age 78, of 33 1/2 E. Pole Rd., Lynden, passed away in a local resthome Sun. Jan. 25th, (1976). A longtime resident of Big Piney, Wyo. She had made her home in the Lynden area for the past 3 years. Surviving are six daughters, Alice Scott of Lynden, Evelyn Walker of Missoula, Mont., Louise Shaw of Grand Junction, Colo., Evonne Harvey of Big Piney, Wyo., Charlotte Diamond of Olympia and Phyllis Atwood of Grover, Texas. 3 sons, Charlie Daniels of Missoula, Mont., Kenneth Daniels of Yearling, Nevada, and Naylon of Big Piney, Wyo. A brother Clifford Lewis, in Wyo. Also 28 grandchildren. The remains were forwarded to the Lincoln Mortuary in Kemmerer, Wyo. for funeral services on Fri., Jan. 30. DANIELS, Otto Blaine, age 74, whose home was in Huntington, Ind., passed away Thursday, July 24, (1958) following a heart attack. Mr. Daniels had been in Bellingham for the past four months, visiting relatives. He was a member of the Methodist Church in Huntington. He leaves to survive his wife, Mrs. Bertha May Daniels; one son, Otto B. Daniels in Bluffton, Ind.; three daughters, Mrs. Lucille Tillman of Fort Wayne, Ind., Mrs. Maxine Putmen of Indiana; and one step-son, Eugene H. Troutner of Bellingham, also six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. The remains rest at the Bingham and Jerns Funeral Home and will be forwarded to the Bailey Funeral Home in Huntington where services will be held.

DANIELS, Victor, age 55 years, 2430 James Street, passed away at a local hospital, Monday, February 9, (1948) following a lingering illness. Mr. Daniels had been a resident of Bellingham for the past twenty-six years, was a member of the Church of the Assumption, of the F.O.E. Bellingham Aerie No. 31, and of the International Longshoremen and Warehousemens' Union No. 17. He was a longshoreman and employed by the Bellingham Stevedoring Company previous to his illness. Mr. Daniels was a veteran of Wold War I in the Belgian army. Surviving relative include the widow, Mrs. Nellie Daniels, and four small daughters, Rosemary, Mildred, Mary Ann and Georgean, also a brother and sister in Belgium. Rosary will be said within the Church of the Assumption, Wednesday, February 11, at 7 p.m. Requiem mass will be celebrated for the repose of the soul, Thursday, February 12, at 9 a.m. with Rt. Rev. Msgr. J. G. Stafford, celebrant. Interment in Bay View Cemetery under the direction of the Bingham-Dahlquist & Jerns Funeral Home. Those acting a casketbearers were members of the local Eagles Lodge and Longshoremen's Union.

DANIELSEN, Hallward Anthony, 72, of Ferndale died Saturday (Jan. 5, 1990) at St. Joseph's Hospital. He was born Jan. 14, 1917, in Minot, North Dakota, and was a resident of Whatcom County since 1987. Survivors include his wife, Feryle, of the family home; two sons, James of Nebraska and John of Virginia; and a sister, Alice Danielsen of Tacoma. No services will be held at this time. DANIELSON, Andrew, age 74 years, of Blaine passed away Monday, Sept. 13, (1954) at his home. Mr. Danielson had been a resident of Blaine for the past 53 years. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Bertha Danielson of Blaine; one daughter, Mrs. Svafa D. Smith, in San Francisco; one son, Daniel I. Danielson of Blaine; two grandchildren; one brother, Arnie Danielson in Iceland; three nieces and nephews. DANIELSON, August, age 61 years who resided at 715 12th Street passed away at the family residence Saturday, September 24, (1960). Mr. Danielson had resided in Bellingham for the past 14 years, was a member of Our Saviour's Lutheran Church and the Fishermen's Union. He leaves to survive his wife, Mrs. Pearl Danielson; two daughters, Linda at the family home and Mrs. Doris Moore; and one grandson, Ricky Moore, all of Bellingham; also four brothers, Andrew and Erling in Minnesota and Martin and Alexander, both in Norway. Rev. D. W. Taylor will conducted funeral services on Thursday, Sept. 29, at 2 o'clock in the Chapel of Bingham & Jerns Funeral Home. Interment Bayview.

DANIELSON, Bertha I., age 93 of Blaine, passed away in a local rest home Sunday, November 3, (1963) following an extended illness. She had been a resident of Blaine since 1902, was a member of the Blaine Lutheran Church, O.E.S., The Home Demonstration Club, and was First President and organizer of the Lutheran Ladies' League Likn. Surviving are one son, Dan of Blaine; one daughter, Mrs. Svafa Knight of San Francisco; also 2 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held in the Blaine Lutheran Church Tuesday, November 5, at 2 p.m. with Rev. G. P. Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in the Blaine Cemetery under the direction of the McKinney Funeral Home.

DANIELSON, Clarence, age 86 years, of 1344 Sunset Avenue, passed away Tuesday, April 28, (1959) in a Bellingham hospital following an extended illness. He had been a resident of Whatcom County for the past 45 years, and was a member of the W.C.D.A. and the Washington Co-Op. Surviving relatives include several nieces and nephews, also cousins. Funeral services will be conducted in the Moles' Monroe Funeral Chapel, Monday, May 4, at 1 p.m. with the Rev. E. P. Dreyer officiating. Final resting place in the family plot at Woodland Cemetery.

DANIELSON, Eric D. - Graveside services for Eric D. Danielson, 72, of 5720 Mission Road will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Saxon Cemetery with the Rev. R. Hendrickson officiating. Mr. Danielson died Thursday (Sept. 22, 1988). He was born in Bellingham Nov. 20, 1915, served in World War II and retired from Oeser Cedar Co. in 1983 after a 50-year career. Mr. Danielson was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post No. 9301 in Lynden; American Legion, Post No. 212, Sumas; Goshen Range, No. 856; and the Pamona Grange and Washington State Grange. Survivors include his wife Anne of the family home; a son Mike Danielson of Bellingham; two daughters, Gail Holding of Chehalis and Kay Matteson of Oregon; 10 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Arrangements are by Jerns LeVeck Funeral Chapel.

DANIELSON, Frank A., age 53 years, beloved husband of Mrs. Edith Danielson, 1531 Lincoln Street, passed away at the family residence, Sunday, May 18, (1947) following a lingering illness. Mr. Danielson had been a resident of Bellingham for the past twenty years and was a mill worker, belonging to the Sawmill and Woodworker's Union, No. 2667. Besides the widow, Mr. Danielson is survived by one brother, Adolph, of Bellingham; two brothers and three sisters in Sweden. The remains are at the Bingham-Dahlquist-Jerns Funeral Home.

DANIELSON, Olive C. - Services for Olive C. Danielson, 75, a 52-year Whatcom County resident, will be at 1 p.m. Aug. 26 at Jerns & LeVeck Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. Donald Walter officiating. Private burial will follow in the Fern Garden of Enterprise Cemetery. Mrs. Danielson, 444 S. State St., died Sunday (Aug. 13, 1989) at home after a long illness. She was born Olive Earthy on Aug. 9, 1914 in Vancouver, B.C.. She formerly was a matron in the Order of the Eastern Star, mother advisor in the Rainbow Girls, president of the Blaine Activities and secretary of the Zenobia Club. She also was a member of the Daughters of the Nile, Hatasu Temple and Bellingham Yacht Club. She married Dan Danielson on June 16, 1936 in Los Angeles. They built the Dana Hotel in Blaine and owned and managed it from 1966 to 1988. It is now called the International Hotel. They also developed the Hanson subdivision off H Street in Blaine. Survivors, aside from her husband, include 2 daughters, Nadine C. Miller of Bothell and Dana A. Stocks of Redmond; 4 grandchildren; 4 brothers, William Earthy of Seattle; Bernard Earthy of Victoria, B.C.; Dennis Earthy of Port Alberni, B.C.; and Fred Earthy of Qualicum, B.C.; 3 sisters Catherine Betsworth of Vancouver, B.C.; Perlie Root of Hamilton, Mont.; and Phyllis Sangster of Victoria, B.C.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

DANIELSON, Otto C. age 70 a former Bellingham resident passed away in Sedro Woolley, where he had resided for the past 10 years, on November 4, 1987. Private interment at Greenacres Cemetery. Under direction of Lemley Chapel.

DANILSON, Bruce - Burlington resident Bruce Danilson died Thursday, March 4, 1993, of a brain tumor. He was 51. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. today, and from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday at Hulbrush (sic) Funeral Home in Burlington. Vigil services will be held at 7 p.m. Sunday, at St. Charles Catholic Church in Burlington. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, at St. Charles Catholic Church with the Rev. Emilio Gonzalez officiating. He was born Aug. 2, 1941, in Chewelah, Wash., to Doris Waters Danilson and Earl Danilson. The family moved to Skagit County in 1945. Mr. Danilson graduated from Burlington-Edison High School in 1959, and married Marlene Dawson on June 24, 1960, in Mount Vernon. He worked for Witco Inc. in Mount Vernon from 1960 to 1975. He went on to work for Morse Hardware in Bellingham from 1975 to 1992. An avid sportsman, Mr. Danilson enjoyed softball, bowling and golf. He was preceded in death by his father Earl Danilson. Survivors include his wife Marlene of the family home; a daughter Angela Danilson of Mount Vernon; sons Keith Danilson of Fairfield, Calif., Chris Danilson and Curt Danilson, both of Sedro-Woolley; his mother Doris Danilson of Burlington; sisters Donna Rae Adkisson of Portland, Ore., Erleen Anderson of Burlington and Pat Linder of Stanwood; two grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. DANKLEFS, Barbara J. – An open house for Barbara J. (Flake) Danklefs of Spokane, formerly of Bellingham, will be from 4 to 7 p.m. today at the family home. Mrs. Danklefs died Wednesday, Sept. 27, 2000. She was 48. In 1970 she graduated with honors from Sehome high School and later attended Western Washington State College (now Western Washington University). Born Sept. 13, 1952 to Dale and Shirley (Brokaw) Flake in Bellingham, she lived here until 1992 when she moved to Spokane. In 1974, she married Ricky "Rick" Danklefs in Germany. In 1994 she began working for Liquidation World Inc., where she continued to work until her death. Mrs. Danklefs was baptized at First Christian Church where she was a member. She enjoyed gardening, especially her peace roses. Her father died in 1997. Survivors include her husband of Spokane; son Michael Danklefs of San Jose, Calif.; daughter Tamara Lewton of Augusta, Ga.; her mother of Spokane; sisters Shelley Hayes of Bremerton and Claudia Lee Manning of San Diego; brother Dennis Flake of South Lake Tahoe, Calif.; grandmother Pearle Flake of Mount Vernon; and one grandchild. Arrangements are by the Neptune Society of Spokane.

DANNENHOLD, Dolores Elizabeth passed away peacefully on December 11, 2004 after a long illness. A resident of Bellingham since 1988, she was born in Louisville, Kentucky on September 5, 1917, the second youngest of eight children. She was an excellent student and excelled in French and Latin. She met her husband of 64 years, Charles Dannenhold, in Louisville. They were married October 12, 1940, and after his discharge from the Marines in 1946, they moved to Glendale, California. Dolores was a devoted mother and homemaker to her three children, David Dannenhold, Robert Dannenhold and Melinda Yost, and was renowned for her gardening, her cooking skills, and her collection of Early Americana. She was also revered by her six grandchildren (Kim Dannenhold, Scott Dannenhold, Kara Dannenhold, Robyn Campbell, Katie Kavulla, and Robert Yost) for her patience and gentleness. Two great-grandchildren (Brendon Dannenhold and Janie Kavulla) also survive her. In Bellingham, Dolores and her husband were active in Assumption Church where they helped to organize a social program for senior parish members. Her modesty and quiet sense of humor made her well-loved by all who knew her. Memorials should be made to Assumption Church and Hospice of Whatcom County. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 15 from 12 - 5 p.m. She will be remembered in a rosary service at Westford Funeral Home on Wednesday, Dec. 15 at 7 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Assumption Church on Thursday, Dec. 16 at 10:30 a.m. followed by a graveside committal at Enterprise Cemetery in Ferndale.
