BOAL, Etta W., age 78 of Bellingham died peacefully at home on Monday, January 13, 2003. She was born December 15, 1924 in Mississippi. Etta was preceded in death by her husband Horton J. Boal. Etta was a very private person. Her main focus in life was giving to others. She was at her best being a mother and grandmother! Etta is survived by her children: Patricia A. Jones and son-in-law Tom Jones of Bainbridge Island, William Boal and daughter-in-law Jeri of Glendale Oregon and Cheryl Boal of Bellingham, sister-in law Virginia Hayden of Bellingham, and five sisters: Dazie Akers, TN, Mazie Long, AL, Mae Flickner, OH, Betty Montgomery, FL and Hilda Anderson, ME. BOAL, Horton J., former manager of the state liquor store in Fairhaven, died Saturday (June 3, 1989) in a Bellingham nursing home. He was 69. Private graveside services for the family will be held, with arrangements by Jones Funeral Home. Boal, of 2010 Huron St., was born March 5, 1920, in Greeley, Colo. He served in the Army during World War II and was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Bellingham. He is survived by his wife Etta of the family home; two daughters, Patricia A. Jones of Bainbridge Island and Cheryl Boal of Bellingham; a son William Cody Boal II of Grants Pass, Ore; a sister, Virgie Hayden of Bellingham; and three grandchildren.

BOAL, William Cody, age 65, of 110 Chuckanut Dr., passed away in a local hospital, Wednesday, Feb. 7, (1962). Mr. Boal had resided in this community for the past 41 years; was a grandson of Buffalo Bill Cody and as a boy was a stunt rider with Buffalo Bill's Circus. Mr. Boal served in World War I, having enlisted as a private and worked his way up from the ranks to a commission. He was called back into active duty just prior to World War II where he served with the U.S.A.F., and after the war was retired as a major. For eight years Mr. and Mrs. Boal operated a gift shop and museum in North Platte, Neb., which was centered around Buffalo Bill. For the past few years, Mr. Boal had been taking care of the accounting for his daughter and son-in-law. He was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church; Reserve Officers Association; Albert J. Hamilton Post No. 7, American Legion and a member of the Black Horse Troop of the Culver Military Academy. Surviving relatives are his widow, Elva D. at home; one son, Horton J. of Bellingham; one daughter, Mrs. Robert L. Hayden of Bellingham; three granddaughters, Patricia and Cheryl Boal and William Cody Boal II also of Bellingham, also two nephews and one niece in England. The remains rest at the Jones Funeral Home where services will be conducted by the Rev. Fr. W. Robert Webb, Monday, Feb. 12, at 1 p.m. Final resting place Greenacres Memorial Park.

BOATMAN, Emma, age 90, passed away Saturday, June 16, (1945) at Canyon, Texas. Survivors are two daughters, Mrs. A. B. Russell, Canyon, Texas, Lula Jacobs, Dallas, Texas; two sons, W. D. Boatman, Ferndale, and Claude Boatman, of Sheridan, Oregon; also numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at the Baptist Church, Ferndale, Saturday, June 23, at 2 p.m., by Rev. C. C. Hovda. Interment will follow at the Enterprise Cemetery, under the direction of Monroe Funeral Home, in Ferndale.

BOATMAN, Emma Jane - Funeral services will be held Friday for Emma Jane Boatman, 74, who died last Thursday (June 11, 1936) in a Bellingham hospital. Mrs. Boatman fell at her home June 3, and broke her hip. She was taken to the hospital, but due to her age was unable to survive the injury.

BOATMAN, W. L. – A memorial for W. L. "Bud" Boatman of Sultan will be at 2 p.m. today at Greenacres Funeral Home with Pastor Ralph Poulson officiating. Mr. Boatman died Monday, Aug 21, 2000 at Valley General Hospital in Monroe. He was 80. Born Dec 10, 1919, in Sulphur Bluff, Texas, to Willie and Mary (Dillard) Boatman, he lived in Sultan for four years. A 1938 graduate of Ferndale High School, he served in the U.S. Navy as a chief petty officer for 20 years. He also worked for People's Bank, retiring in 1979. A member of Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion, Mr. Boatman enjoyed traveling. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Kittie Boatman, by an infant brother and by his sister, Esta Fay Vilene. Survivors include his wife, Sally Boatman of the family home; daughter Valerie MacIver of Spokane; stepchildren Jack Gerard, Ed Thomas, Al Thomas and Julie Gress, all of Sultan; 10 grandchildren; and numerous other relatives.

BOATMAN, Willie D., age 76 of Ferndale, passed away Friday, June 3, (1966). A resident of Ferndale for 41 years he is survived by 1 daughter, Mrs. Melvin Vilene of Ferndale; 1 son, W. L. Boatman of Auburn; 1 granddaughter, Valerie Faye and 2 sisters, Mrs. A. B. Russell of Canyon, Texas; Mrs. Lulu Bowling of Dallas; numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, June 7 at 2 p.m. in Moles Funeral Chapel, Dr. Wilfred Gunderson officiating. Interment Greenacres.

BOB, George, age 96 years, of 2610 Eldridge Ave., passed away in a local hospital Wednesday, Aug. 20, (1958) following a lingering illness. Mr. Bob was a life resident of Whatcom County and was a retired laborer. He leaves to survive two grandsons, George Harry of LaConner and Joseph Johnson of Deming; one granddaughter, Miss Florence Harry of Seattle; two nieces, Mrs. Minnie Johnson of Deming and Mrs. Louise Anderson of this city. Funeral services will be conducted Friday, Aug. 22, at 10:30 a.m. from the chapel of the Westford Funeral Home with Rev. M. Dodsworth officiating. Interment Goshen Cemetery.

BOB, Phyllis E., age 72, resident of the Alger area for the past 47 years, died Sat., May 12, 1979 in a Bellingham hospital. She was born Dec. 24, 1906 in Arlington. Her marriage to Frank Bob took place Sept. 1, 1931 in Bellingham. She had made her home in the Alger District since her marriage. Surviving are her husband Frank at home, 3 daughters, Frances Byrd of Roseburg, Oregon, Lelitia Brown of Burlington and Elma Jeane Edwards of Jefferson, Oregon; 2 sons, Harry Bob of Vacaville, Calif., and Oliver Bob of Antioch, Calif., 1 step-daughter, Helen Media of Black Diamond; 2 step-sons, Herbert Bob of Eagledale, Bainbridge Island and Kenneth Bob of Tacoma; 28 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are 5 sisters, Beatrice Cline of Everson, Mary Ewing of Portland, Helen Gammon of Portland, Ramona Woods of Oso, Snohomish County and Doris Badgley of Camano Island, and 1 brother, James Kimball of Dunsmuir, Calif. Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society. Prayer services will be held at 7 p.m. Monday May 14. Funeral service 2 p.m. Tuesday May 15 at the Hulbush Chapel, Burlington. BOBB, Raymond, 81, of Lynden, died Monday, July 13, 1992 in Bellingham. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. today at Greenacres Funeral Home. A vigil service will be at 7 p.m. today at Greenacres Funeral Home Chapel. A funeral mass will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, with Fr. Gary Southerton officiating. Burial will follow in Greenacres Memorial Park. \Mr. Bobb was born Oct. 4, 1910, in Spuzzun, B.C. to Mack and Susan Bobb. He served with the Sea Fourth Armory in the Canadian Army during World War II. He married Rose Joe in Yale, B.C. in 1959. Mr. Bobb moved to Whatcom County in 1969 and worked for Jake Maberry from 1975 until his retirement in 1986. He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church. Survivors include his wife Rose Bobb of Lynden; daughters Gloria, Myra and Margaret Bobb, all of Lynden, Joann Foster of Everson and Karen King of San Diego, Calif.; sons Dennis, Ron and Reggie Bobb, all of Lynden; sister Margaret Nelson of Vancouver, BC; half-brother Alex Chapman of Chilliwack, B.C.; and 12 grandchildren. His son, Ricky Bobb, died in 1965.

BOBB, Ronald R., age 56, of Lynden, passed away November 10, (2005) at his home. Ronald was born November 6, 1949, in Spuzzum, B.C., Canada, to Raymond and Rose (Joe) Bobb. He is survived by his only child, Nathan Raymond Mack Bobb; companion Irma Garcia; mother Rose Bobb; sisters Gloria, Margaret and Myra Bobb, Karen King, and JoAnne (Scott) Foster; brothers Dennis and Reggie (Lori) Bobb, all of Lynden; numerous nieces and nephews, including Rosanne Bobb of Seattle, Jenifer (Jeremy) Burnette of Oregon, and Daniel (Judith DeBay, station in Germany. Preceding Ronald in death were his father and one brother, Ricky. Funeral services for Ronald will be held Monday, November 14, at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Lynden. Interment will follow in Greenacres|Moles Cemetery. Visitation will be held at St Joseph Catholic Church, Lynden, from 10 a.m. on Monday until the time of the service.

BOBECK, Hjalmar F., age 88, who resided at 409 York St. passed away in a local nursing home Thursday, December 8, 1983. He was born March 27, 1895, in Hybo, Sweden. He came to the United States in 1914 and moved to Whatcom County in 1941. He married his wife Gladys in August 1956 in Idaho and was a well- known carpenter in Bellingham for many years. He leaves to survive his wife Gladys Bobeck of Bellingham; 1 son Samual Mullenax of AL; 2 daughters, Nancy Fraim of AL, Pam Beveridge of Bellingham; 8 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren. Memorial services will be held Monday, December 12 at 1 p.m. in the Jerns & LeVeck Funeral Chapel with Pastor Martin Wells officiating.

BOCHNAK, Billee L., formerly of Bellingham, died Friday, March 21, 1997, in Oregon. She was 80. Services will be held Wednesday in Tillamook, Ore. Born Sept. 3, 1916, to William and Edna Foster Carr in Bellingham, she attended schools, including business college, here. After her marriage to Donald Marten in 1936 in Bellingham, she worked as a lumber broker in Whatcom County and for Pope and Talbot in Portland, Ore., for 12 years. She married Edmund Bochnak in 1963. They lived in Manzanita, Ore., and Arizona before his death in 1989. Survivors include son Donald Marten of Santa Rosa, Calif.; daughter Leslie Ann Nesbit of Bellingham; brother Jack Carr of Ferndale; step-daughter JoAnn Neimeyer; three grandchildren, one great-grandchild and care-giver Paul Meager of Newhalem, Ore.

BOCHNAK, Mildred T., age 54, 4215 Lakeway Drive, passed away in a Seattle hospital Tuesday, April 16, (1963). Mrs. Bochnak was a thirty-five year resident of Bellingham; a member of The Firs; Maple Leaf Chapter No. 58, O.E.S.; Bellingham Court No. 25, Order of Amaranth, and Hatasu Temple, Daughters of Nile. Survivors are her husband, Edmund A., city; one daughter, JoAnn, city; one brother, John Tucker, Stockton, Cal.; two sisters, Mrs. Carol Coyne, Seattle, and Mrs. Helen Moore of Ellensburg. The remains rest at the Jones Funeral Home where services will be conducted by Rev. Grant Whipple Friday, April 19 at 1 p.m. Final resting place Bay View Cemetery.

BOCK, Abbie L., age 90 years, of 1208 Garden St., passed away in a local hospital Tuesday, April 9, (1957) following a lingering illness. Mrs. Bock had resided in Bellingham for the past seven years and leaves to survive three sons, Charles, of this city, Philip, of Sumas, and Albert, of Butte, Mont.; three daughters, Mrs. Ida Thompson, of Edgemount, S.D.; Mrs. Alice Wilkes, of Hot Springs, S.D., and Mrs. Delores Methven, of Dearborn, Mich.; 18 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Anne Ryan, of Richland Center, Wis. The remains were forwarded to Custer, S.D., for funeral arrangements by the Westford Funeral Home.

BOCK, Geoffrey Warren - A memorial service for Geoffrey Warren Bock will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Rome Community Bible Church with John Gamlen officiating. Mr. Bock died Sunday, April 6, 1997, as a result of injuries he suffered in a vehicle accident. He was 26. Born Dec. 23, 1970, to Marie and Edwin Bock in Spokane, he lived in Bellingham for 24 years. A 1989 graduate of Mount Baker High School, Mr. Bock served in the U.S. Marines from 1989 to 1993. He enjoyed hunting, camping, shooting sports and four-wheel driving. Survivors include his parents of Everson, sister Laurel Alarcon of Bellingham, brother Matthew Bock of Everson, grandfather Warren Huff of Seattle, one niece and numerous other relatives. BOCK, Philip G., age 81, 5098 Reese Hill Rd. Sumas, passed away Friday, Dec. 5, (1975). A retired miner, Mr. Bock was a 50 year resident of Whatcom County and a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church Lynden, was a WWI Army Veteran and also a member of the American Legion Post No. 7. He is survived by his wife Edna, 3 daughters, Miss Patricia Bock of the family home, Mrs. Ella Saar of Sumas and Mrs. Phyllis Burns of Everett, 4 sons Edwin of Bellingham, Sylvester of Ferndale, Gerald of Marysville and Arthur of Sumas, a brother Charles Bock in Arizona, a sister Mrs. Alice Beason of Hot Springs, South Dakota, 16 grandchildren, and 1 great-grandchild, numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, Dec. 9 at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of the Gillies Funeral Home with Father Gerald Mayovsky officiating. Interment will follow in Greenacres Memorial Park.

BOCK, Sylvester Lawrence "Syl" of Ferndale died at home Thursday, Dec 7, 1995. He was 68. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Monday at Greenacres Funeral Home. A funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Greenacres Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev Eric Ranum officiating. Burial will follow in Greenacres Memorial Park. Born May 25, 1927 to Phillip and Edna Schug Bock in Lynden, he was a lifelong resident of Whatcom County. He married Luella Leibrant in 1948. Mr. Bock served in the U.S. Army. He was a logger for several years and retired from Intalco Aluminum Corp in 1982. He was a supporter of the Deming Logging Show and enjoyed traveling, fishing and dancing. Survivors include his wife of the family home; sons John Bock of Blaine and Larry Bock of Ferndale; three sisters; three brothers; one granddaughter; and numerous other relatives.

BOCKOVEN, Skip died peacefully Friday, March 24, 2006 at home in Bellingham, surrounded by his wife and dear friends. Skip shared an incredible passion for life and believed that all things were possible. For Skip, life was to live with laughter and play and to nurture the soul by embracing anything new to experience. Happiness to Skip was making someone else happy. Skip enjoyed hiking, race walking, snow sports, baseball, traveling, ceramics, gardening, entertaining great friends, good food and wine. Skip, you believed – and that belief is that life's challenges are treasures of faith and hope; and in that you have left your spirit and your legacy, forever a path of optimism and a frolic through life. You will always be loved beyond eternity. He was predeceased by his mother Helen Bockoven. Skip is survived by Cindy Paffumi, his wife and soulmate of 12 years; his father John Bockoven; sisters Bev Doyle and Katie Miller; nephews; an abundance of friends; and Luna dog.

BOCKOVER, Ben F., age 93, of Ferndale, passed away at a local hospital Thursday, March 8, (1951) following a lingering illness. Mr. Bockover had been a resident of the Ferndale district for the past 38 years. Surviving relatives include three daughters, Mrs. Lula Forler, of Enumclaw, Mrs. May Scott, of Bellingham, and Mrs. Nina Theubet, of Blaine; a son, Charlie, of Ferndale; 20 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren. Services will be conducted Monday, March 12, at 2 p.m. within the Chapel of the Monroe Mortuary in Ferndale with the Rev. Peter H. Stroem officiating. Interment in Enterprise.

BOCKOVER, Elmer, age 49, of Route 3, Ferndale, passed away at a local hospital Tuesday, August 8, (1950) following a short illness. Mr. Bockover was born in Union Town, Kansas. He had been a resident of the Ferndale Community most of his life. Surviving relatives include his wife, Mable; father, Ben Bockover, of Ferndale; three sisters, Mrs. Lulu Forler, of Enumclaw, Mrs. Nina Thuebet, of Blaine, and Mrs. Mae Scott, of Bellingham; a brother Charles, of Ferndale, and a half-brother, Louis White, of Fowler, Colorado. BOCKOVER, Mabel E., age 84, who resided in Kent, Wash. passed away Sunday, March 23, (1975). She was a resident of the Ferndale community for many years. She is survived by 2 aunts, Mrs. George Sicklesteel and Mrs. Julius Sicklesteel both of Camrose, Alberta; nephews, C. W. Sicklesteel of Los Altos, Calif.; niece Edna Bessette of Twin Falls, Idaho; cousin, Jack Sicklesteel of Mount Vernon; 2 sisters-in-law, Mrs. Fred Theubet of Mount Vernon and Mrs. Mildred McDowell of Santa Clara, Calif. Services will be conducted at Enterprise Cemetery at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 25 with Rev. David Nelson officiating under the direction of the Moles Funeral Home.

BOCKSTADTER, Dale A. of Bellingham died Saturday, Aug. 2, 1997. He was 67. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Sept. 13 at Jones-Moles Funeral chapel with the Rev. Carl Fischer officiating. Born May 5, 1930, in Norfolk, Neb., he graduated from Vancouver High School in 1950 in Vancouver, Wash. A talented athlete, Mr. Bockstadter performed with a tumbling group throughout his teen years. In 1950, he suffered a broken neck during a performance and was confined to a wheelchair as a paraplegic for the rest of his life. Mr. Bockstadter graduated from Whatcom Community College in 1984 and received a bachelor's degree in industrial technology from Western Washington University in 1991. He was a member of Ferndale Lions Club for 30 years. Survivors include brother Vic Bockstadter of Napa, Calif.; sister Lois Larson of Port Orchard; stepsisters Kay Marczynski of Vancouver, Wash., Ann Wirth of Denver and Jane Tysinger of Santee, Calif.; and numerous other relatives. Arrangements are by Moles Funeral Home.

BODE, Anna, age 64, of Lynden, passed away at her home Wednesday, March 1, (1950) following a lingering illness. Mrs. Bode had been a resident of the Lynden district for the past 38 years. Surviving relatives include her husband, Gerritt; one daughter, Mrs. Joe Honcoop, of Route 3, Lynden; five sons, Arie and Anthony Schouten, both of Lynden, Rt. 1, Carl and Marinus Schouten, both of Everson, and William Schouten, of Lynden, a brother, L. C. Bovenkamp, of Lynden, and 25 grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted, Saturday, March 4, at 2 p.m. within the Third Christian Reformed Church, of Lynden, with the Rev. R. H. Haan, officiating. Interment in Monumenta Cemetery under the direction of the Gillies Funeral Home in Lynden.

BODE, Clara, age 85, 1019 Liberty St., Lynden, passed away on Sat., June 2, 1979. Born in Holland, Mrs. Bode had been a Lynden resident for the past 65 years and was a member of the First Christian Reformed Church of Lynden. She is survived by 2 sons, John & Leonard M. Bode, both of Lynden; 2 daughters, Mrs. Winifred (Clarence) Smith of Escondido, Calif., and Mrs. Alice (Don) Ross of Lynden; 4 grandchildren; a brother, Leonard DeBeeld of Abbotsford, B. C.; 2 sisters-in-law, Mrs. Arie DeBeeld of Lynden and Mrs. Rika DeBeeld of Portland, Oregon; numerous nieces and nephews. BODE, Gerrit, age 81, of Lynden, passed away in the Lynden Christian Rest Home, Friday, Sept. 14th, (1962) following a short illness. A native of Holland, he had been a resident of the Lynden area since 1912. He was a member of the Third Christian Reformed Church of Lynden. Surviving are six sons, Leonard, Tuenis, William, Bernard and Eugene, all of Lynden and Clarence of Mount Vernon; three daughters, Miss Gertrude Bode of Seattle, Mrs. Jeanette Vander Vate and Mrs. Peggy Thorinson, both of Everett, one sister, A. P. Jongeneel, of Lynden, also 31 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at the Third Christian Reformed Church Monday, Sept. 17th at 2 p.m., with Rev. Walter Ackerman officiating. Burial will follow in Monumenta Cemetery under direction of the Gillies Funeral Home.

BODE, Leonard, Sr., age 59 years, of Lynden, passed away at his home Thursday, August 2, (1951). Mr. Bode had been a resident of the Lynden district for the past 30 years. He is survived by his wife, Clara; three daughters, Mrs. Don Ross, Mrs. Clarence Smith and Pauline Bode; two sons, John L. and Leonard M., all of Lynden; two sisters, Mrs. A. P. Jongeneel, of Lynden, Mrs. Mary Dudley, of Grand Rapids, Mich.; one brother, Gerrit Bode, of Lynden. BODE, Pauline A., age 52, 1019 Liberty St., Lynden, passed away on Sunday March 25, 1979. A lifetime Lynden resident, Miss Bode had attended the First Reformed Church in Lynden and is survived by her mother, Mrs. Clara Bode of Lynden, 2 brothers, John & Leonard M. both of Lynden, 2 sisters, Mrs. Clarence (Winifred) Smith, Escondido, Calif., Mrs. Don (Alice) Ross of Lynden, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. BODE, Paulina C., age 65, of Lynden passed away at her home Sunday, August 21, (1955) following a lingering illness. She had resided in the Lynden district for the past 38 years. She is survived by four daughters, Gertrude Oppenwall, Alice VanRy, Winnie Roosendaal, Clara Holtrop; three sons, Leonard, John and Gerrit, all of Lynden; 18 grandchildren, one great-grandchild; one sister, Clara Bode; four brothers, Arie deBeeld, Martin, both of Lynden, Leonard in Canada, Cornelius of Salem, Ore. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, August 23, at 2 p.m. from the Gillies Funeral Home in Lynden with Rev. H. Hesselink officiating. Interment, Monumenta Cemetery.

BODE, Teunis, age 70, of Lynden, passed away at his home Monday, September 11, (1950) following a lingering illness. Mr. Bode had been a resident of the Lynden district for the past 33 years. Surviving relatives include his wife, Paulina; four daughters, Mrs. Gertie Oppewall, Mrs. Alice VanRy, Mrs. Winnie Roossendaal and Clara Bode; three sons, Leonard, John and Gerritt; and two brothers, Gerritt and Leonard, all of the Lynden district; two sisters, Mrs. A. P. Jongeneel, of Lynden, and Mrs. Mary B. Dudley, of Grand Rapids, Mich.; 11 grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, September 14, at 2 p.m. within the Chapel of the Gillies Funeral Home in Lynden with the Rev. George Hankamp, of Lynden officiating. Interment in Monumenta Cemetery.

BODE, Tim Raymond passed away on August 19 at home surrounded by his family. Tim was born on February 15, 1949 to Gerrit and Ruth (Vander-Kooi) Bode. Tim grew up in Lynden and attended Lynden Schools. He excelled academically and was involved with leadership. After high school, Tim attended and graduated with honors from the University of Washington. He worked for Puget Sound Energy for 32 years. Tim had a passion for golf and traveled with his wife Meribeth to many golf resorts. Tim loved being a grandfather and spending time with his children and grandchildren. Tim is survived by his wife Meribeth; children: Sally and husband Tim Gasper and their children Justin, Samantha, Dillon, Serena, Quinton; Kara and husband Matt Johnson and their daughter Lauren; Michael; Cory Hutchings and wife Ashley, with twin grandchildren on the way; sister Carole Bode; brothers Gerry, Dan, Dave and Karl Bode; and numerous other relatives. Memorial service will be held at Atonement Free Lutheran Church, Arlington, Friday August 22, 12 noon.

BODEN, Charles E., 320 S. Garden Street, age 71, passed away Wednesday, August 24, (1966). Mr. Boden was a retired accountant for Darigold and Hillview Dairies, and was a resident of this city sixty-two years. He was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church and a past Exalted Ruler of Bellingham Lodge, BPOE No. 194. Survivors are his widow, Cora M., at home; a son, Charles E. Boden Jr., of Richland; five sisters, Mrs. Eunice Lehmann, city; Mrs. Audie Rowell, Anacortes; Mrs. Vertia Marker, Seattle; Mrs. Mabel Dixon, city, and Mrs. Ruth Bell of Everson; three half-sisters, Mrs. Clara Bill, Chimacum, Wash.; Mrs. Art Brooks, Lake Stevens; Mrs. Eric Plattner, city; three half-brothers, Cleo, Leo and Albert Zaddack, all of this city. BODIKER, Harold R., age 70, of 2906 Sunset Drive, passed away at home, Saturday, Dec. 29, (1962). A retired employee of the U. S. Post Office, Mr. Bodiker was a 59-year resident of Bellingham; was a member of Bellingham Bay Lodge No. 44, F&AM, and had attended the First Church of Christ Scientist. Survivors are his widow, Ida, at home; one daughter, Mrs. Lauren Bell; one granddaughter, Miss Vicki Bell; one aunt, Mrs. Martha Crowell, all of Bellingham. The remains rest at the Jones Funeral Home, where Christian Science services will be read, Monday, Dec. 31, at 3 p.m., followed by cremation.

BODINE, Grace, age 63, of 1700 James Street, passed away in a local hospital Sunday, August 15, (1954). Mrs. Bodine had resided in this community for the past 31 years, and was a member of the Church of Nazarene. Surviving relatives include two daughters, Mrs. Rex Miller of Vancouver, Wash., and Mrs. Roger Geariety of Van Zandt; a step-son, Murel Bodine of Canton, Ohio; five grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Charlotte Wilson of Vancouver, B.C., and Mrs. W. Gray of N. Battleford, Sask., Canada; and two brothers, Will Moisey in England, and George Moisey of Indio, Calif. BODLOS, Louis Henry, age 45 years, of Route 1, Everson, passed away Tuesday, May 7, (1957) due to a heart attack. Mr. Bodlos was a life time resident of Bellingham and vicinity and was a member of the Sacred Heard parish, member of Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie No. 3053, of Lynden; and was a member of the Washington Federation of Butchers, having been employed for the past three years for the Fair Meat and Grocery Store. He leaves to survive his widow, Mrs. Hilda Bodlos, Everson; his mother, Mrs. Katherine Bodlos; three sisters, Mrs. Mary Morrissey, Mrs. Verna Brownrigg and Mrs. Lee Selene, all of Bellingham; his father-in-law, Mr. Emil Lind of Everson. Also numerous other relatives. Rosary will be recited on Thursday, May 9, at 4:30 p.m. in the chapel of Bingham & Jerns Funeral Home. BODLOS, Katherine, age 67 years who resided at 2910 16th Street passed away at her residence, Friday, Feb. 28, (1958) following a brief illness. Mrs. Bodlos had resided in Bellingham for the past 50 years and was a member of the Sacred Heart Church and Altar Society. She leaves to survive three daughters: Mrs. Pauline Selene, Mrs. Mary Morrissey, Mrs. Verna Brownrigg; one sister, Mrs. Mary Haickel; seven grandchildren; three great grandchildren, also several nieces and nephews all residing in Bellingham. BODTKE, Arthur O., age 64, of Star Route, Deming, passed away in a local hospital Sunday, October 14, (1951). Mr. Bodtke had resided in Whatcom County for the past 22 years and was a farmer. He was a member of the English Lutheran Church of Great Falls, Mont., the Welcome Grange and the Whatcom County Dairymen's Association. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Emma Bodtke, at home; three sons, Lawrence Jr., Arthur L., and Lloyd P. BODTKE, Emma L., Star Rt., Deming, age 76, passed away Monday, March 27th, (1976). Mrs. Bodtke was a 36 year resident of this community, and was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church at Lawrence. BOE, Alvin B. "Al" of Bellingham, WA, passed away on Tuesday, July 13, 1999, in Bellingham. He was 77, born January 5, 1922, to Marie and Swen Boe in Ottawa, Illinois. Al served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He was a resident of Whatcom County for 55 years and served with the Bellingham Fire Dept for 25 years, retiring as Battalion Chief. He was in real estate for many years including co-owning Boe and Regan Real Estate. Al was also a member of Bellingham Elks Lodge #194, was past president and active member of Bellingham Central Lions Club, and was Lion of the Year from 1998/1999. Through the Lions Club, Al established the Wheelchair Program which provided free wheelchairs, crutches, and other aids to those in need. He also helped establish similar programs in other Lions Clubs in the US and Canada. Al was a lifetime Lutheran Church member and helped construct Central Lutheran Church. His son David preceded him in death. Survivors include his wife Marian; daughters, Marilyn Boe of Everett, Randi and husband Bob Gayewski of Antioch, CA; sons, Gary Boe and wife Romayne Zanchi of Seattle, Jon Martin of Bellingham; granddaughter Ericka and husband David Strawder of Everett; 2 great-grandchildren; sisters Ruth and husband Ed Koslowsky of Ottawa, IL; Midge Mueller of Dallas, TX; and brother Stanley Boe of Mexico City, Mexico. A Graveside Service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, July 16, 1999, at Greenacres Memorial Park, followed by a Memorial Service at 11 a.m. at Central Lutheran Church with the Reverend Leonard C. BOE, David - Funeral services were held in Everett Tuesday for David Boe, who was fired last summer as Bellingham City Council legislative assistant. He died Sunday (Sept. 21, 1975) in Alderwood Manor at the age of 31. The Snohomish County Coroner's office listed the cause of death as suicide. He was employed as the assistant from the time the job was created in February until mid-July when the council voted to eliminate his position and replace it with a secretarial post. Boe was a Western Washington State College graduate and had worked in various governmental agencies before returning to Bellingham. He is survived by his widow, Lidya, and five children. His is also survived by his father and mother, Alvin and Ruth Boe. A family service was held at the Solie Funeral Home and burial was in Evergreen Cemetery, Everett.

BOE, Pearl M. - A funeral for Pearl M. Boe of Olympia will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Greenacres Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Herbe Vanesse officiating. Burial will follow in Greenacres Memorial Park. Mrs. Boe died Monday, May 12, 1997, at Puget Sound Healthcare in Olympia. She was 86. She was born Dec. 3, 1910, to Alie and Emma Bjorneby Peterson in Tioga, N.D. She married Jack Gardner in 1929. They were divorced. She married Igmar Boe in 1938 in North Dakota. Mrs. Boe lived in Bellingham from 1941 to 1983. She worked at Pacific Coast Paper Mill for 17 years. A foster parent for 11 years, she enjoyed gardening and yard work. Mrs. Boe was preceded in death by her husband in 1967, daughter Constance in 1940, four brothers and two sisters. Survivors include daughter Constance Hoff of Anacortes and Eileen Rixe of Olympia; sons John Gardner of Temecula, Calif.; sisters Evelyn Andres of Auburn and Lila Hess of Pasadena, Calif.; 14 grandchildren, 21 great- grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

BOEDE, Vera Charlotte, age 40, of West Sound, Orcas island, passed away in a local hospital Friday, December 16, (1949) following a lingering illness. Mrs. Boede had been a resident of Orcas island for the past 30 years. She was a member of the East Sound Presbyterian church and the Orcas Island Grange. She is survived by her husband, Echart Boede, of Orcas island; two sons, Edward of the U.S. navy, San Diego, and Clyde, at home; also one daughter, Eleanor, at home; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Lindholm of East Sound, Orcas island; two brothers, Art and Leslie Lindholm of Orcas island; five sisters, Mrs. Ida Kerr of Tacoma, Mrs. Marie Hagon of Castle Rock, Wash., Miss Harriette Lindholm of Orcas island, Mrs. Esther Speed of Shelan, Wash., Miss Jean Lindholm of Seattle, and many other relatives. Funeral services will be conducted wednesday, December 21, at 1 p.m., within the East Sound Presbyterian church with Rev. Holt, pastor, officiating. BOEDE, Violet P., age 73, of Eastsound, Orcas Island, passed away Thursday, June 4, (1964). Mrs. Boede had been a 50-year resident of that community, and was the widow of the late Conrad W. Boede; for many years had been the County Chairman of the Democratic Party on Orcas Island; had served on the Board of Trustees of W.W.S.C.; had been active in the Grange activities on Orcas Island, and had just been elected as incoming president of the Orcas Island Garden Club; also a member of the House of Representatives for 15 years starting in the mid 30's. Surviving relatives are two sons, Winfred G. of Seabeck and Conrad T. of Silverdale; three grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Myrtle Boede of Seattle. Services will be conducted from the Eastsound Community Church Monday June 8 at 1 p.m., Rev. John LeCompte officiating, under direction of the Jones Funeral Home. BOEHRINGER, Andrew A., age 78, 920 Van Dyk Rd., Lynden, passed away Wednesday, August 12, (1964) in a local hospital following an extended illness. Mr. Boehringer was a lifetime resident of Whatcom County, moving to the family homestead on Hannegan Rd. at the age of 2 months. Many will remember him as "Uncle A." He leaves to survive his wife, Carrie; 1 daughter, Mrs. Soren Eide, Lynden; 2 sisters, Mrs. Bertha Osgood and Mrs. Christie Wagner, both of Lynden. BOEHRINGER, Betty Ardell, age 78, of Bellingham passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, October 30, 2004, after a long, courageous battle with breast cancer. She had an amazing positive attitude while putting her faith in the Lord. She was born Sept. 5, 1926 to Chris and Emma Andersen in Lynden. She was a lifetime resident of Whatcom County and graduated from Lynden High School. She also was an active member of Laurel Baptist Church for many years. On Dec. 8, 1945 she married Bob Boehringer. They owned and operated an 80-acre farm on the Northwest Road where together they ran a dairy farm and raised 3 children, who were the joy of her life. In 1973 they sold the farm and started Bob's Mobile Home Park. Several years after Bob passed away she moved to Bellingham, where she resided until her death. Betty (or Betty Boop as many called her) was a warm nurturing kind person that will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her. She was a ray of sunshine to those she visited in rest homes, bringing them home baked goodies. She enjoyed working in her flower garden, volunteering at the courthouse, and her church. Betty loved to socialize with family and friends, but especially with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob; brother Lyle and her grandson, Jason. Betty is survived by her 2 daughters, Judy and husband Nick Criscuola, Janet and husband Richard Johnson; son, Jerry Boehringer and wife Cathy; 6 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, November 4, 2004 at 12:30 p.m. at the Laurel Community Baptist Church, 162 W. Laurel Rd. Burial will follow at 3:00 p.m. at Greenacres Moles Cemetery. Surviving are his wife Alice, three sons Maurice, Howard both of Route 1, Lynden and Robert of Route 1, Ferndale. One daughter, Mrs. Florence Sturtz of Kent, one brother Andrew Route 2, Lynden, two sisters, Mrs. Bertha Osgood of Lynden and Mrs. Charles Wagner of Route 2, Lynden. BOERHAVE, Alice, age 80 years, of 203 Grover St., Lynden, passed away at her home, Tuesday evening, Dec. 2, (1958). She had been a resident of Lynden since 1902. For over 40 years she had owned and operated the Boerhave Millinery & Ready-to-Wear Shop in Lynden. She retired last June and had always been active in community affairs. She was a member of the Lynden Chapter No. 12, Order of Eastern Star. Survivors are: one son, Jay Boerhave of Bellingham; two daughters, Mrs. Margaret Lee of Los Angeles, Calif., and Mrs. Berry Wright of Yakima; one brother, Ralph Pilon of Lynden, and one sister, Mrs. Grace Boerhave of Lynden. BOERHAVE, Jay C., 77, 119 N. Samish Way, died Tuesday (Sept. 28, 1982) in a local nursing home. He was born Aug. 13, 1905, in Lynden and had been a lifetime area resident. He had been employed as an industrial supplies sales manager. He was a life member of Bellingham Elks Lodge 194. He was also a World War II Navy veteran. Survivors include two sisters, Helen Wright and Marjorie Lee, both of Seattle. Cremation services are being held under the direction of Jerns-LeVeck Funeral Chapel and Crematorium.

BOERS, Phillip E. - Services for Phillip E. Boers, 5475 Market Road, will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Greenacres Funeral Home Chapel, with burial following. The Rev. Richard Talley will officiate. Visitation will be from 6 p.m to 8 p.m. tonight at Greenacres Funeral Home. Mr. Boers, a foreman in the poultry business, died Wednesday at St. Joseph Hospital Main Campus. He was 57. He was born Aug. 30, 1932 in Chillicothe, Ill., to Frank L. Boers and Opal Ione Schooling Boers. He married Beverly Jane Antrim on Sept. 6, 1952 in Lacon, Ill. Mr. Boers was preceded in death by three brothers, Franklin, Kermit and James Boers. BOERSEMA, Herman, age 56, of 601 B.C. Ave., Lynden, passed away in a local hospital, Monday, July 30, (1962) following an extended illness. He had been a resident of Snohomish County his entire lifetime, moving to Lynden in May of this year when he purchased the Neighborhood Store. He was a member of the Second Christian Reformed Church and Teamsters Union Local No. 38. Surviving are his wife, Lena; one son, Richard in the U. S. Navy; three daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Wolter of Sultan, Mrs. Leona Hoffman of Oak Harbor and Miss Wilma Boersema of Sultan; two sisters, Mrs. Elfie VanWeerthuizen of Sultan and Miss Winnie Boersema of Snohomish. Also four grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at the Second Christian Reformed Church, Saturday, Aug. 4, at 2 p. m., Rev. John DeJong officiating. BOERSMA, Gertrude, age 54, of Lynden, Route 3, passed away at a local hospital, Monday April 4, (1955) following a short illness. She had been a resident of the Lynden district for the past 25 years. She is survived by her husband, Thys; two daughters, Jeanette Eshuis, Ferndale Route 1, Marcella at home; four sons, Julian, Lynden Rt. 3; Marion, Denver, Colo.; Chester, Midland Park, Mich.; her father, Marinus Wichers, Lynden; four brothers, Henry Wichers, Lynden; Ben, Royal Oak, Mich.; Garrit, Morris, Iowa; Hessel of Lynden; three sisters, Mrs. Pete Visser, Lynden; Mrs. Lawrence Boersma, Everson, Rt. 1; Mrs. Raymond Theaty of Downs, Kan.; seven grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted, Thursday, April 7, at 2 p.m. from the Third Christian Reformed Church in Lynden with Rev. F. W. VanHouten officiating. BOERSMA, Thys, age 82, formerly of 1234 N. Mountain View Rd., Oak Harbor, passed away on Tues., Jan. 31, (1978). A retired farmer, Mr. Boersma was born in Holland and moved to Lynden in 1930. He had resided in Oak Harbor for the past 2 years. He was a member of the Oak Harbor Christian Reformed Church and is survived by his wife, Isabel; 3 sons, Julian of Vancouver, Wash., Chester of Franklin Lakes, New Jersey, Delmar of Lafayette, Indiana; 2 daughters, Mrs. Jeanette (Cornelius) Eshuis, Lynden and Mrs. Marcella (John) VerStraate, Grand Rapids, Michigan; 2 brothers, Lawrence of Lynden and Peter of Burlington, Ontario, Canada, 23 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. He is also survived by a daughter-in-law, Mrs. John Decker of Denver, Col.; a step-son, Richard Larson of Iran and a step-daughter, Mrs. Virginia Crabtree of Lynden; numerous nieces and nephews and was preceded by a son, Marion and a daughter, Julia. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, Feb. 4 at 1 p.m. in the Bethel Christian Reformed Church. Burial will follow in Monumenta Cemetery. Contributions and memorial gifts may be made to the Lynden Christian Schools. Services are under the direction of the Gillies Funeral Home.

BOES, Theodore C., aged 73 years, 2701 Xenia Street, passed away at a local hospital, Tuesday, October 2, (1945) following a lingering illness. Mr. Boes had been a resident of Bellingham for the past thirty-eight years and was a member of I.O.O.F. Bellingham Bay Lodge No. 21 of Bay City Encampment No. 23, and Rebekah Lodge No. 43. Two brothers survive, George B. Boes, Bellingham, and J. F. Boes, Bay City, Mich.; also thirteen nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at the Bingham-Dahlquist Funeral Home, Friday evening, October 5 at 7:30, conducted by Rev. James Martyn Wilson, followed by ritualistic service by I. O. O. F. No. 31. Cremation will follow. Members of I. O. O. F. No. 31 will act as honorary casket bearers.

BOESCH, Marian Janice - Visitation for Marian Janice "Granny" Boesch will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday and from 9 to 11 a.m. Monday at Greenacres Funeral Home. A graveside service will be at 11:30 a.m. Monday at Greenacres Memorial Park with the Rev. Bud Lee officiating. Mrs. Boesch died Wednesday, July 5, 1995 at St. Joseph Hospital. She was 76. Born Dec. 9, 1918 to William and Anna Sandberg White in Geneva, Ill., she moved to Whatcom County in 1935. She married William Boesch in 1942. Mrs. Boesch was a cook for several nursing homes. She worked at Bornstein Seafood Co for about 12 years and retired as a head filleter. She enjoyed playing cards and being involved at the Bellingham Senior Activity Center. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1945 and a brother, Frank White, in 1994. Survivors include daughter Katee Wowk of Bellingham; brother Ralph White of Renton; one granddaughter; on great-granddaughter; and numerous other relatives. BOESCH, Corp. William, age 30 years, passed away suddenly Thursday, December 27, (1945) at the home of his mother in Sumas. He had recently returned from overseas and leaves to survive his wife, Meriam; one daughter, Kathleen Bonnie; his mother, Mrs. Anna Boesch, several aunts and uncles and other relatives. Funeral services will be conducted Monday, December 31, at 2 p.m. from the Gillies Funeral Home in Sumas with Rev. Robert Robinson, of Sumas, officiating.

BOETTCHER, Alfred, age 80, 2186 Mt. Baker Hiway, passed away Friday, March 25, (1966). A fifty-eight year resident of the community, Mr. Boettcher was a retired laborer, and was a thirty year member of Bellingham Lodge, Aerie No. 31, F.O. Eagles. Survivors are a sister, Mrs. F. Weigler, and a brother, Edwin Boettcher, both of Manchester, N. H.; also nieces and nephews. Services will be conducted by Rev. E. C. Kreitlow Wednesday, March 30 at 1:00 p.m. at the Jones Funeral Home, followed by Cremation.

BOETTCHER, William F., 2703 Elm, passed away Tuesday, March 15, (1966). Mr. Boettcher has resided in Bellingham for the past 38 years and was a retired tire repairman. He was a member of William L. Alexander Post of Laurel No. 3685; veteran of WW 1 and BPOE No. 194. He leaves to survive his wife, Daisy of the family home; 1 daughter Mrs. Don Christenson of city; 2 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. BOETTNER, Margaret A. of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, passed away in that city Thursday, March 17, (1966). She was a former resident of Bellingham and was a member of the Church of the Assumption. BOETTNER, Margaret W., age 72, of 51 Strawberry Point passed away Thurs. Sept. 29, (1983). Mrs. Boettner had resided in Bellingham for the past 60 years; was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church, the Alpha XI Delta Soriety and PEO. She leaves to survive 2 sons, D. Fred Boettner of this city and William J. Boettner of W. Redding, Connecticut; 4 grandchildren; 1 brother Joe Williams of this city. Funeral services will be held Mon. BOETTNER, Patricia, age 75, a longtime resident of Bellingham, died Thursday, August 21, 1997 at her home on Samish Island. Mrs. Boettner was born on December 15, 1921 in Dubuque, Iowa to parents, William P. and Marjorie Ann (O'Keefe) Hogan. She was raised in Waterloo, Iowa and graduated from West High School in 1939. She attended the Univ. of Iowa and graduated from Katherine Gibbs Secretarial College of Chicago. Mrs. Boettner served with the Red Cross as a secretary in European Theater during WWII. She met Donald H. Boettner in LeHarve, France. On Nov. 9, 1947, she and Donald H. Boettner were married in the Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris, France. From Europe they subsequently resided in Battle Creek, MI, Bellingham, Albuquerque, NM and St. Louis before settling in Bellingham in 1953 where Dr. Boettner practiced medicine for over 34 years. She was a loving full time mother, gourmet cook and loved to travel. Mrs. Boettner was a member of Assumption Church and was a co-founder of the Sarah Debra Auxiliary of St. Joseph Hospital. Relatives include her husband Dr. Donald Boettner of Bellingham; children Mary Terese Boettner of Miami Shores, Florida, John Frederick Boettner of Seattle, Karl Roland Boettner of Bellingham and Julianna Routon of Alger; one sister Helen Heintz of Palatine, Illinois and a granddaughter Gabrielle Boettner. A funeral mass will be held at 9:00 a.m. Thursday, August 28, 1997 at Church of the Assumption. Arrangements are under the direction of Westford Funeral Home & Cremation Service.

BOETTNER, Roland B., age 40, of 2727 Cornwall Avenue, passed away at a Seattle hospital Friday, July 28, (1950) following a short illness. Dr. Boettner was a prominent Bellingham physician, having practiced here the past 13 years. He was a member of the Church of the Assumption, Whatcom County Medical Society, Alpha Sigma Phi Fraternity, Knights of Columbus 4th degree, Holly (sic) Names Society and the B. P. O. E. No. 194. Surviving relatives include his wife, Margaret, and two sons, William J. and David Frederick, all at home; his mother, Mrs. Margaret Boettner; and three brothers, Dr. J. F., of Fort Lauderdale, Florida; Dr. Donald H. of St. Louis, Mo., and James J., of Bellingham. Rosary will be said Monday, July 31, at 7:30 p.m. within the Church of the Assumption. BOGAARD, Tracy H., age 5 (sic) of 1236 Main St., Lynden, passed away at home Sunday May 1, (1966) following a short illness. A lifetime resident of Lynden she was member of the Second Christian Reformed Church. BOGARD, Allen, age 78, of Blaine, passed away in a local hospital, Thursday, January 27, (1949) following a lingering illness. Mr. Bogard had been a longtime resident in Blaine. BOGDANOVICH, Nick D. - Graveside services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday for Nick D. Bogdanovich at the Woodlawn Cemetery in Blaine (sic). He had been a commercial fisherman in the Blaine area since 1970. Bogdanovich's body was found Wednesday in Boundary Bay, near Delta, B.C. He had been missing since Sept. 8 when his gillnet boat, Vinka, was found aground on Java Rocks just south of Saturna Island. Bogdanovich was born Nov. 9, 1937, in Yugoslavia. He is survived by his wife, Marilyn of Blaine; a son Jerry Wisbey of Palm Springs, Calif.; two daughters, including Kelli Wisbey of Palm Springs and Cindy Wisbey of Blane; his parents and three brothers, residing in Yugoslavia; a sister Zeljka Ivcevie of Blaine; and one grandson. Visitation will be Tuesday, noon to 8 p.m. at the Jerns-McKinney Funeral Chapel in Blaine.

Mrs. Bogen had resided in this community the past 50 years and was a member of Our Saviour's Lutheran Church, and of the Whatcom County Dairymen's Association. BOGGESS, Isabel M., age 90, of 121 North Shore passed away Sat. April 22, 1978. Mrs. Boggess had been a resident of B'ham for the past 6 years, was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, member of the Rebekah Lodge, Daughters of the Nile where she was the Supreme Queen of the State of Idaho. She leaves to survive: 1 son, Robert Bradbury of city, 1 sister, Nellie Pace of Salt Lake City, Utah, 7 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren. Mrs. Boggess remains were forwarded to the Cloverdale Funeral Home in Boise, Idaho by the Westford Funeral Home where services will be held Wed. April 26th at 1 p.m. followed by interment.

BOGGS, Ernest R., age 73 of 1307 McKenzie Ave. passed away Thursday, March 2, (1972). Mr. Boggs was a lifetime resident of this community, Veteran of World War I and a member of the VFW William Mathews Post 1585 and the Calvary Temple. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Sarah J., at home and 1 sister, Mrs. Laura Brown, city; many nieces and nephews. BOHLMAN, Jessie E. - Private services will be held at a later date for Jessie E. Bohlman, 76, a Blaine resident and former Naval yard worker. Mrs. Bohlman, 360 D St, Blaine, died Sunday (April 2, 1989) at a Blaine nursing home after a long illness. She was born Feb. 4, 1913, in Seattle. Mrs. Bohlman worked in the Puget Sound Naval Yard during World War II. She moved to Blaine from Portland, Ore., in 1965 after the death of her husband, Theodore, in 1959. Mrs. Bohlman attended Unity Church. She played the organ, piano and violin and loved popular music. Survivors include her sister, Peggy Gischer of Birch Bay; and a nephew, Church Gischer of Bremerton. Arrangements are by Jerns McKinney Funeral Chapel.

Bohn, Lynden, Wash., Morris Bohn, New Kirk, Okla.; and Samuel C. Bohn, Mt. Claire, West Va.; three step-daughters, Mrs. Viola Erickson, Chesterton, Ind., Mrs. Daisy Higgins, Phoenix, Ariz., and Mrs. Virginia Griffin, Gary, Ind.; also numerous other relatives. BOICE, Ann O., age 27 years, of Deming Star Route passed away in a local hospital, Saturday, Aug. 18, (1956) following an accident. She had resided in Deming for the past six years, and is survived by her husband, Wayne B., two daughters, Maryann, and Ruth, both of the family home. Her father, Nicholas Malokoff, of Sitka, Alaska. BOICE, Anna, age 73, formerly of 103 Drayton Street, Lynden, passed away Monday, September 17, (1962) following an extended illness. A native of Michigan, she had made her home in the Lynden area of Whatcom County since 1907. Surviving are two sons, Versil and Robert Boice, both of Lynden, two daughters, Mrs. Nola Perry of Route 1, Everson, and Mrs. Sarah Larsen of Hoquiam. Two brothers, Albert H. VanderYacht of Ferndale, and James VanderYacht of Deming Star Route. Also 17 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at the Gillies Funeral Home in Lynden Wednesday, September 19 at 2 p.m. with the Rev. William Miller officiating. Burial will follow in the Monumenta Cemetery.

BOICE, Henry Rosco, age 64 years, Star Route, Deming, passed away Saturday, Dec. 29, (1956) following a lingering illness. He had lived in Deming for the past 11 years, and was a former resident of Lynden since 1914. Survivors include his wife, Martha; two daughters, Mrs. Veronica Hedberg and Mrs. Ila Jackson, both of Bellingham; three sons, Quinton R. of Van Zandt; Wayne B. of Deming, Star Route, and Edward H. of Lacomb, Ore.; 15 grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Ila VanderYacht, of Route 1, Lynden, and Mrs. Gertrude Axlund of Independence, Mo. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, Jan. 2, at 11 a.m. from the Gillies Funeral Home in Lynden, with Rev. E. M. Bremer, officiating. Interment, Greenacres Memorial Park.

BOICE, Louise W., is now dancing again with her husband Butch. Louise died at home, surrounded by family and friends on Tuesday, January 4, 2005. She was 91, born October 30, 1913, in Berkeley, CA, to Ruth (Campbell) and Melvin Perrine. Louise worked for 19 years in the advertising dept. at Sears. She then opened the "Ceramic Hut," her true love, and taught her love of porcelain and ceramics to hundreds of people. In the last years, she extended her love of painting with oils and watercolors. She was preceded in death by "Butch," her loving husband of 48 years. Louise is survived by her children: Mike and Mary Boice, Ken and Cindy Ferry; grandchildren: Steven and Candy Ferry, Tammy and Steve Schemstad, Kristi and Robert Etheridge, Rebecca and Doug Richardson, Kathy and Josh Benish; and great-grandchildren: Jacob, Melanie, Nichole, Jonathan, Daniel, Michael, Bryson, Kaylee, Megan, and Abigail-and two more on the way; her loving sister Carole and her husband Jim Dean; and numerous nieces and nephews. BOICE, Lucille H. - Funeral services for Mrs. Lucille H. Boice, who died Wednesday, October 24, (1979) were conducted on Saturday, October 27, at 2 p.m. in the First Reformed Church with Rev. Mrs. Boice, 67, of 811 Front Street, Lynden, had been a lifetime Lynden resident and was a member of the First Reformed Church. She was married to her husband Versil in April of 1947. She is survived by her husband, Versil; a son, Dean of Lynden; three daughters, Mrs. Marilyn (Delvin) Groen, Mrs. Jolene (Gerrit) Vis and Mrs. Deanne (John) Plagerman all of Lynden; nine grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Alice Koetje of Lynden and Mrs. Rena Anderson of Bothell; a sister-in-law, Mrs. Beth Haveman of Bellingham and numerous nieces and nephews. She was also preceded by two sisters, Mrs. Anna Burger and Mrs. Johanna Eiene and a brother, Albert Haveman. Services under the direction of the Gillies Funeral Home.

BOICE, Martha A. - A graveside service for Martha A. Boice, 92, will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Greenacres Memorial Park. Mrs. Boice died Saturday (June 2, 1990) at St. Francis Extended Health Care nursing home. She was born April 19, 1898, in Michigan. She had been a Whatcom County resident since 1907, living in Ferndale and Lynden before moving to Bellingham in 1970. Survivors include her daughter, Ila Jackson of Bellingham; son Edward Boice of Custer; sister Jean Coxx of Prince George, BC; and brother Pat Brown of Alberta, Canada. He was a member of Our Saviour's Lutheran Church, Bellingham Elks Lodge 194 and the National Rifle Association. He had worked at Northern State MultiCenter. Survivors include his wife Marjorie, his mother Martha Boice of city; two daughters Ruth and husband Jim Ingersoll of Everson; Maryann Cain of Blaine; five grandchildren, two sisters Veronica Hedberg, Ila and husband Henry Jackson, all of City; and 2 brothers Quinten and wife Louise Boice of VanZandt, Ed and wife Jessie Boice of Custer. BOIES, Charles A. Sr., age 74, of 839 E. Laurel Rd., Bellingham, passed away Fri., Feb. 6, 1987. He had been a Whatcom County resident since 1965. Worked as a machinist/millwright for many years building various hydroelectric dams on various river systems and at several aluminum plants and refineries. He was an avid fisherman. He was preceded in death by his parents Charles A. Boies and Maude; sisters Florence Hallback and Jane Japp. He leaves to survive his wife Leona of the family home; 4 daughters, Donna Mae Sisson and husband Robley of Portland, OR; Rosetta Dunnaway and husband Donald of Vernonia, OR; Charlene Willard and husband Carl of Scapoose, OR; Agatha Bohm of Portland, OR; 1 son Charles A. BOIES, Leona H., 68, of 403 Cascade Way, Lynden, died Saturday, May 23, 1992 in Bellingham. She was born July 24, 1923, in Brunswick, Neb. to John and Augusta Meyborg. She had lived in Whatcom County since 1965 and was married to Charles Boies, Sr. He died in February 1987. Survivors include her son Charles Boies, Jr. of Lynden; her sister Erma Santangelo of Massillon, Ohio; her grandsons Mick Boies and Brian Boies, both of Lynden; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation is from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Moles Funeral Home, Ferndale. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Greenacres Chapel, with Rev. Joyce O'Connor officiating. BOKKER, Elsie I., age 53 of 1098 Chuckanut Highway, died Tues. Sept. 5, 1978 at her home. She was born Nov. 30, 1924 in Tokio, N. Dakota and her marriage to Calvin L. Bokker took place Sept. 15, 1946 in Dell Rapids, S. Dakota, she came to Washington in 1952 and resided in Burlington since 1962. She was a member of the Burlington Lutheran Church and surviving are her husband Calvin at the family home, 3 daughters, Mrs. Douglas (Sherry) Anderson of Logan, Utah, Mrs. Roland (Valary) Woll of Bow, WA, Mrs. David (Tammy) Komar of Tacoma. 1 grandson, 6 brothers, Tony Evans of B'ham, Leon Evans of Garretson, S. Dakota, Harry Evans of Dell Rapids, S. Dakota, Maurice Evans of Yankton, S. Dakota, Stanley of Richland, WA and Rueben Evans of Vashon Island, also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews. BOL, Hulbert, age 75, of Sumas, passed away Thursday, Nov. 20, (1958) following a brief illness. A resident of Whatcom County since 1909, Mr. Bol was a member of the Sumas Christian Reformed Church. Surviving are his wife, Nellie at home; six sons, Pete and James of Sumas, William, Clarence and Herb, all of Seattle, Jake of New Mexico; two daughters, Mrs. Charles W. Lamson of Clinton, B.C., and Mrs. William Leonard of Auburn, Wash.; 28 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Monday, Nov. 24, at 2 p.m. in the Sumas Christian Reformed Church with Rev. John Entingh officiating. BOL, Jacob - Funeral services were held on Tuesday afternoon at the First Christian Reformed Church for the late Jacob Bol, who passed away at St. Luke's hospital in Bellingham Saturday, (April 15, 1922) at the age of 37 years. Mr. Bol was born in Holland May 11, 1885, and came to the United States eleven years ago, settling near Lynden, where he made many friends who will mourn his loss. He was ill but a short time. He is survived by one brother, [smudge] Bol of Lynden.

BOLDUC, James Cook - A memorial service for James Cook Bolduc of Bellingham will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Jones-Moles Funeral Home with the Rev. James Murphy officiating. Mr. Bolduc died Sunday, Feb. 2, 1997. He was 82. Born Feb. 14, 1914, in Minneapolis, he lived in Bellingham since 1979. Mr. Bolduc served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. He worked as a civil servant for 18 years with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers on the reconstruction of postwar Germany. He retired from civil service in 1964 and returned to the United States. He lived in Minneapolis and worked for Dayton Hudson Corp. until 1977. After moving to Bellingham in 1979, Mr. Bolduc worked in the collection department of Bellingham National Bank and did volunteer work at Bellingham Senior Activity Center and Bellingham Public Library. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ursula. Survivors include sons James Rick Bolduc of Bayview and David Bolduc of Brooklyn Center, Minn., daughter Frances Prouty of Avondale, Ariz., 10 grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

BOLEK, Margaret Ann, age 24 of 704 N. Garden St., passed away suddenly Wed., Dec. 10, (1975). A native of New Jersey she was a student at WWSC. BOLHOUSE, Dora, age 48, of 2723 Birchwood, passed away at her home, Monday, July 3, (1950) following a short illness. Mrs. Bolhouse had been a resident of Bellingham for the past four years. BOLICK, Douglas Allen - A funeral service for Douglas Allen Bolick of Custer will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Sunrise Baptist Church in Custer, with the Rev. Jon Aldrich officiating. Burial will follow at Greenacres Memorial Park in Ferndale. Mr. Bolick died Saturday, Dec. 18, 1999 at St. Joseph Hospital. He was 65. Born June 5, 1934 to Robert and Irene (Banks) Bolick In Lowell, NC, he had been a Whatcom County resident for 31 years. Mr. Bolick served in the U.S. Navy and saw action in the Korean and Vietnam wars. In 1972, he married Beverley Christopherson in Bellingham. Mr. Bolick worked for ARCO Products Co. for 15 years before retiring in 1985. He was a member of American Legion Blaine Post No. 86 and he enjoyed camping, boating, fishing and car races. His sisters Jacqueline Hoffman and Betty Miller died previously. Survivors include his wife of the family home; sons James Bolick of Blaine and Robert Bolick of Mukilteo; one son and five daughters from out of state; sister Evelyn Dixon and brother Richard Bolick, both of North Carolina; and two grandchildren. BOLIN, John W., age 72, of 428 Boulevard, passed away in a local hospital Monday, December 3, (1951). Mr. Bolin had resided in this community for the past 55 years and was a retired longshoreman. Deceased was a member of the Lutheran Church and leaves to survive his widow, Martha H., at home; one son, John, of Bellingham; three daughters, Mrs. Thelma Henshaw, of Spokane, and Mrs. Doris Olson and Mrs. Helen Moore, both of Bellingham; two grandsons, Richard Grant, of Orange, Calif., and Jimmy Olson, of Ferndale; one great-granddaughter, Miss Vienna Grant, of Orange, Calif.; one brother, and one sister, both in Sweden. BOLSTAD, Blanche E. - At her request, there will be no services for Blanche E. (Strong) Bolstad of Blaine. Mrs. Bolstad died Friday, Feb. 16, 2001, at St. Joseph Hospital. She was 90. Born Feb. 25, 1910, in Minot, N.D., she had been a Whatcom County resident since 1989 and was a resident of Stafholt Good Samaritan Center. Mrs. Bolstad worked as a retail clerk for many years in California. She enjoyed baking pies and cakes for other people. Her husband, Edwin Bolstad, and daughter Myrna Antle died previously. Survivors include son Darryl Bolstad of Carlsbad, Calif., grandchildren Mike Antle of Everett, Dusty Antle and Bob Bolstad, both of California, Becky Petermann of Arizona and Mark Bolstad of North Carolina six great-grandchildren two great-great-grandchildren two nieces and many other relatives.

BOLSTER, Aryeness E. passed away Saturday, Dec. 8, (1945) at the family home, 2600 Sunset Drive. Mrs. Bolster had been a resident of Whatcom county and Bellingham since birth and was a member of the First Church of Christ Science. Her survivors are one son, James F. Bolster, U. S. N., now home; two daughters, Mrs. Leslie V. Townley, Mrs. Annabel B. Suetterlein; one brother, Henry Roeder; three granddaughters, Gail, Sharon and Rosanne, all of Bellingham. The remains rest at the funeral home of Harlow-Hollingsworth where Christian Scientist services will be read Monday, Dec. 10, at 10:30 a.m. The services will be private and friends are requested to omit flowers. BOLSTER, Kathleen Ashe - Our most beloved mother, Kathleen Ashe Bolster left us early Wednesday morning and is now living on in our lives and hearts. Kathleen was the kindest, fairest and most loving member of our family. Kathleen, we miss you already. We will all miss you forever. Kathleen was born April 15, 1925 in Granite Falls to her parents James and Katherine (Duffy) Ashe. At the age of three her family relocated to Bellingham. She attended Assumption Catholic Grade School and then graduated from Bellingham High School in 1943. She attended WWU and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in 1982. Kathleen was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Catholic Daughters, The Aftermath Club, AAUW, the Senior Activity center and the Whatcom Museum Docents. Kathleen was always thinking of others before herself. She was a very kind and elegant lady. Kathleen devoted much of her time to all her children and grandchildren. Kathleen is survived by her sons, J. Frederick Bolster, Daniel R. Bolster; Gary Bolster, daughter Rosemary Bolster, Sisters Helen Ashe, Mary Lou Hinds, Patricia Huntley, and 13 Grandchildren. A Vigil Service will be held Sunday, October 17th at 7:00 p.m. at Westford Funeral home. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on Monday Oct. 18th at 12:10, followed by a reception at the Parish hall and a committal service at Greenacres.

BOLT, Barbara Wilson, of Lynden, WA was born on February 13, 1935 in Portland, Oregon and passed away suddenly in the family home on the afternoon of August 19th, 2002. She was preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth and Vivien Jensen Wilson. She is survived by her loving husband Harold, her brothers and sisters and their families John P. Wilson, Ruth and Dean Stacy, Linda and Len Breeden, Mary and Mike Hurley, Susan Dahl and Roger and Judy Swanson her children Gareth and Kristine Bolt, Heather and Dan Weidkamp, Kelly Kay Smith and Brandon Bolt and her grandchildren, Seth and Kaitlyn Kay Weidkamp, Meghan and Christopher Bolt, Alexander and Creighton Smith and Ansilla and Eliana Bolt. Barbara had an extremely giving nature and was always there for a family member, friend or stranger that needed her assistance. Whether it be a sandwich, a place to live or a ride across the state, she was always willing to give of herself. She loved all that life could give her and was curious by nature. She loved reading about everything, as is witnessed by her collection of books in the family home. Drawing and painting were also a passion for her entire life. She routinely could be seen sketching her grandchildren or friends at gatherings. Another source of joy for her was the meeting of the "Wednesday Ladies". Whether it was attending a movie, having dinner or just meeting to talk, it was something she always looked forward to. They have truly been a wonderful group of friends. She also loved her church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and all the people associated with it. In recent years, she traveled with Harold researching the genealogy of their family lines. She was passionate in wanting the family histories and their stories recorded. She loved animals and had a collection of pets throughout her life, ranging from ducks to her beloved poodle, Tori. One of the quotes that Barbara collected was, "I began to have an idea of my life, not as the slow shaping of achievement to fit my preconceived purposes, but as the gradual discovery and growth of a purpose which I did not Know." JoAnna Field, English Psychologist. Whether she realized it or not, her purpose in life was to spread love and happiness to all that met her and to help others seek their own answers. She did it well. She will be greatly missed by all those who loved her, knew her or had their lives touched by her. BOLTON, Anna May, age 83, passed away December 16, 2005 in Bellingham. She was born July 8, 1922 in Lewiston, CA, to William A. and Nellie (Scott) Pattison. She served in the Woman's Army Corps during WWII, driving trucks at Fort Lewis and other Army bases on the west coast. Anna was a life-long Democrat and volunteer. After retiring from Georgia Pacific, she volunteered at the Sheriff's Office in the Identification Division and with RSVP. Anna was a sports fan - she loved cheering on all the Seattle teams. In her free time she enjoyed walking, reading and had a close circle of friends whom she saw weekly, whether meeting for coffee and lunch or going on whale watching trips and sports events. Anna is survived by her son Joe (wife Zoe) Bolton of Madison, MS; granddaughters Tanya (husband Dan) Sawyer of Kent, WA, and Cassie Poier of Redmond, WA; close friend Dorothy Douglas of Bellingham; and cousin Vivian Simpson of San Jose, CA. A Life Remembrance Service will be held at Westford Funeral Home on Thurs., Dec. 29, at 1 p.m. with a reception to follow across the street at Westford's Broadway Hall. Military Honors will be presented by American Legion Post #7.

BOND, Betty Jane, age 81, of Bellingham passed away Thurs., Feb. 6, 2003 in Bellingham. She was born on Aug. 20, 1921 in Johnson City, NY to Mernie and Myrtle (Strobert) Reynolds. Betty is survived by her daughter Carol Vossbeck and friend Dennis Kerr of Bellingham; her son Charles Whitehead and wife Rena of Ferndale; her brother James Reynolds of North Carolina. BOND, Dr. Elias A., age 82, passed away in Milwaukee, Wis. Dr. Bond had resided in that city for the past three years following his retirement from the staff of Western Washington College of Education where for 37 years he had been head of the mathematics department. Surviving relatives are his widow Florence, at home; three sons, Eldon A. of Milwaukee, Wis., Guy of Minneapolis, Minn., and Austin of Greenville, N.C.; one daughter, Mrs. Eva Wagner of Convent, N. J.; five grandchildren; one brother, John Bond of Salem, Ore. Graveside services will be conducted by Dr. W. BOND, James C. - At his request, there will be no services for James C. Bond of Bellingham. Mr. Bond died Wednesday, Nov. 17, 1999 at St. Joseph Hospital. He was 67. Born Feb. 11, 1932 to Raymond and Veda (Shearing) Bond in Bellingham, he was a 1950 Bellingham High School graduate. Mr. Bond owned and operated bond's Exxon Automotive and Service Station. He was an avid fisher, boater and care racing fan. BOND, Raymond C. - Services for Raymond C. Bond, 84, one of Bellingham's original coal miners, will be at 1:3 p.m. today at Westford Funeral Home, with private burial Monday. Mr. Bond, 3103 W. Alderwood Ave., died Wednesday (June 7, 1989) from injuries suffered in a two-car accident. He was born March 18, 1905 in Blaine. Mr. Bond was a retired sheet metal worker who had been employed by Haskell Corp of Bellingham. He also had been an engineer on a purse seiner and a fish-buying boat. Survivors include his wife Vada; two sons, Dennis Bond of Kelso and Jim Bond of Bellingham; a daughter Myrna Mendenhall of Seattle; 10 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Mary Underwood of Olympia and Bernice Riggs and Mildred Korn of North Bend. BOND, Richard William, age 30, of Olga, passed away in a local hospital Monday, Feb. 2, (1959). Mr. Bond had resided on Orcas Island for the past 15 years and was a sawmill worker. Survivors are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wellington W. Bond; two brothers, Thurman C. and Joe A., all of Doe Bay; one sister, Miss Lillian Bond, of Sedro Woolley. BOND, Ruth Elizabeth, age 88, of Bellingham died June 6, 1997. She was born March 4, 1909 in Bellingham to Jesse and Daisy (Miller) Bond. Ruth earned her BA from Bellingham Normal (now WWU) and Masters of Education from the U of Oregon. She devoted her life to education. She taught in Montesano, WA and in Bellingham at Roeder and Whatcom Middle Schools. Ruth moved to Portland where she became a Jr. High principal. Ruth was a member of First Christian Church and past president of Delta Kappa Gamma Sorority. She enjoyed golfing, traveling, and playing bridge. She is survived by her sister Lois Martin of Bellingham; niece Marilyn Richards of Bothell; and grandnieces Lori, Debbie and Jennifer Richards. Graveside services will be held 11:00 on Tuesday, June 10, at Greenacres Memorial Park, Rev. Richard Talley officiating. Arrangements by Westford Funeral Home.

BOND, Vada R. - A funeral for Vada R. Bond will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Westford Funeral Home. The Rev. Larry Guderian will officiate. Mrs. Bond died Monday, Sept. 20, 1993 at St. Francis Extended Health Care. She was 84. She was born Aug. 11, 1909 to George and Jeanette Shearing in Buhl, Idaho. In 1924 her family moved to Lynden, where she graduated from Lynden High School two years later. She married Raymond Bond in 1928. Mrs. Bond worked at Bellingham Cold Storage from 1951 until her retirement in 1971. She was a member of Teamsters union Local 231. Mrs. Bond was preceded in death by her husband in 1989 and by a son Bill in 1978. Survivors include sons Dennis Bond of Kelso and James Bond of Bellingham; daughter Myrna Mendenhall of Seattle; brothers Ernest Shearing of Porterville, Calif., and Marvin Shearing of Boise, Idaho; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

BOND, William C., age 82 years, a Blaine resident for the past 46 years, passed away Monday, October 6, (1952) at his home, following a lingering illness. Mr. Bond was a retired United States Customs Officer and a veteran of the Spanish-American War. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Pearl Bond; three daughters, Mrs. Mary Mathias, of Olympia, Mrs. Beatrice Riggs, of Seattle, Mrs. Marvel Koren, of El Segundo, Calif.; two sons, Charles Bond, of Seattle, and Raymond Bond, of Bellingham; 10 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren. BONEY, Mentor M., age 73, of 23 Strawberry Point passed away in a local hospital Friday, Oct. 12, (1962). Mr. Boney came to Bellingham in 1929 as General Manager of the Whatcom County Dairy Association and served as such until his retirement in 1956. He was a member of the First Baptist Church and was a member and Past President of the Bellingham Rotary Club, and Past District Governor of Rotary International. Surviving relatives are his widow, Georgia K. at home; two sons, George K. of Bellingham and Gordon M. of Reno, Nevada, also five grandchildren. The remains will lie in state at the Jones Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted from the First Baptist Church Monday, Oct. 15 at 3:00 p.m., Dr. Stuart Benson officiating. Cremation.

BONEY, Walter G., age 84 years, 1111 Jerry Street, passed away at a local hospital Monday, February 5, (1945). Mr. Boney had resided here the past five years and was a member of the First Baptist Church. At Eugene, Ore., where he resided previous to his coming here, he was a member of the Board of Deacons of the First Baptist Church for twenty years. Surviving relatives are one son, Mentor M. BONG, Ella, a former resident of this community, and for the past 26 years a resident of Pasadena, Calif., passed away in that city Wednesday, June 13, (1951). BONGARTZ, JoAnn Florence (McLouth), age 75, passed away with her family at her side, Wednesday, August 8, 2007 in Edmonds, WA. She was born in Bellingham on April 8, 1932. She married Frank Bongartz on Sept. 16, 1950; they spent 51 years together at their home on the Mt. Baker Hwy. One of JoAnn's live (sic) ambitions was to travel the 50 states. After they retired they bought a small motor home and did extensive traveling. In her spare time JoAnn loved to sew and do needlework. She was also an avid baker. JoAnn is survived by two daughters, Virginia Thompson (Jerry) of Portland, OR, Helen Wiswell (Jon) of Shoreline, WA, and three grandchildren, Jon (Stephanie) Of Mountlake Terrace, WA; Jennifer of Renton, WA; and James of Shoreline. Visitation will be Monday, August 13, 2007, 4 p.m. - 7 p.m., Jerns Funeral Chapel, followed by a Funeral Service, Tuesday, August 14, 2007, 11 a.m. with Rev. Carl Crouse officiating.

BONIN, Joseph L., born January 25, 1955 disappeared February 15, 1974 at Lake Whatcom following a canoeing accident. He is survived by his parents, Walter & Barbara Bonin of 2211 Lakeway Drive, Bellingham; and sisters, Linda Bonin of Bellingham; Jeanne Paradis of Mt. Vernon; Susan Moseman of Prairie Village, Kansas; brothers, Michael of Seattle; Patrick of Mt. Vernon; Daniel & David, both of Bellingham; several nieces & nephews. In his memory a configuration of Weeping Pines have been planted in the New Urn Garden at Greenacres Memorial Park.

BONKOSKI, Edward J., age 53 of 1443 Everson-Goshen Rd. passed away suddenly Friday August 28, (1964) in a local hospital. He had been a resident for the past 43 years and was an electrician for Mills Electric and was a member of the Electrical Workers Local No. 191 and a veteran of WWII. BONKOSKI, Stanley M. Sr., age 80, formerly of Rt. 3, City, passed away in a local hospital Monday, Nov. 19, (1962). Mr. Bonkoski had resided in this city for the past 40 years and was a retired coal miner and janitor. He was a member of the Church of the Assumption and the Croatian Society. He leaves to survive four sons, Stanley M. Jr. and Ed both of Rt. 3, City, John and Joseph, both of this city, one daughter, Mrs. Eva Pizzuto of Seattle, nine grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, one sister Mrs. Eva Bilyeu of Pocatello, Idaho, several nieces and nephews. Rosary will be said Tuesday, Nov. 20, at 8 p.m. in the Chapel of the Westford Funeral Home. Requiem Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, Nov. 21, at 9:30 a.m. in the Church of the Assumption. BONKOSKI, St/S Frank P. of Rt. 3, Bellingham, who passed away at Okinawa June 20, 1945, while in the service of his country at the age of 27. In Co. F. Seventh Div., of the Infantry, U.S. Army in World War II, Frank had previously been a resident of Bellingham for 24 years before entering service and was a member of the Assumption church. Surviving relatives include his father, Stanley M. Bonkoski; four brothers, Stanley F., John, Ed, and Joseph, all of Bellingham; one sister, Mrs. Eva Pizzuto, of Everson; also numerous other relatives. The remains will be received by the Bingham-Dahlquist & Jerns Funeral Home, Thursday. Requiem mass will be celebrated for the repose of the soul within the Church of the Assumption, Saturday, March 19, (1949) at 9:30 a. m. with Rev. Father John Horan, officiating. Military graveside services will be rendered at the grave in Bay View cemetery by the American Legion, Alexander J. Hamilton Post No. 7. BONNALIE, Dora V., age 73, 2628 Hoyt St., Everett, passed away suddenly Wednesday, June 3, (1964). Mrs. Bonnalie was born in Blaine in 1890 and made her home in Blaine and Friday Harbor prior to moving to Everett in 1959. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Everett. Survivors include 3 sisters, Mrs. Maude Call, Everett, Mrs. Myrtle Bratt, Salt Lake City, Utah and Mrs. Fanny Lambert, Blaine; also several nieces and nephews. BONNALIE, Dr. William Stuart, age 71, passed away Wednesday, June 10, (1959) in a local hospital. Dr. Bonnalie was a retired dentist, having had his practice in Blaine for a number of years. He was a member of the San Juan Lodge No. 175 of Friday Harbor, a member of the Scottish Rites and Nile Temple. BONNEMA, Watson, age 70, of Box 281, Blaine, passed away Thursday, June 17, (1976) at the Stafholt Nursing Home. Born in Lynden, Mr. Bonnema was a retired volunteer fireman for 20 years for the city of Blaine. He was also a member of the Senior Citizen Activity Center and the FOE. He is survived by a step-son, Weley Larrabbe of Marysville and a step-daughter, Marjorie Bring also of Marysville; three sisters, Golden Nelson, Tessie Henry both of Blaine and Anna Bowles of Bellevue; also 8 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren; also numerous nieces and nephews. BONNER, Edith L. - A memorial service for Edith L. Bonner of Mount Vernon will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Lemley Chapel in Sedro-Woolley, with the Rev. Donald Brown officiating. Private inurnment will be in Greenacres Memorial Park. Mr. Bonner died Saturday, April 17, 1999 at Skagit Valley Hospital in Mount Vernon. She was 85. Born Aug 26, 1913 to Merton and Maude Bain Compton in Bellingham, she grew up in Whatcom County and graduated from Mount Baker High School in 1931. From 1931 to 1939, she was married to Ora-Ellis Hamilton and lived in Whatcom County. In 1940, she married Lester J. Bonner and they lived in Whatcom County until moving to Newhalem in 1955. He died in 1971. Mrs. Bonner graduated from Skagit Valley College in 1962 with a degree in nursing and worked as a licensed practical nurse at Memorial and United General hospitals in Sedro-Woolley for many years. She later worked as a nurse at Fircrest School in Seattle. In 1979 she married Carl A. Anderson and they lived in Mount Vernon until his death in 1995. She enjoyed traveling, visiting with neighbors and gardening, especially flowers. She was a member of Viewcrest Assembly of God Church in Mount Vernon. Survivors include sons Douglas Hamilton of Glacier, Dale Bonner of Hamilton and Grady Bonner of Mount Vernon; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

BONNER, George J., 1220 1/2 State St., age 49, passed away Thursday, Sept. 22, (1966). Mr. Bonner was a 14 year resident of this city, was with the Canadian Army and a member of the Scottish Fusiliers during WWII, and fought in the War at Dieppe. BONNER, George Stanley, age 71 of 5191 Potter Rd., passed away Nov. 1, (1975). A lifetime Whatcom County Resident Mr. Bonner had been employed as a surveyor for the County Engineers. Surviving wife, Georgia, 2 sons, Mr. Dennis Bonner of Kent and Mr. Robert Bonner of Yakima. 6 grandchildren. 2 sisters. BONNER, Lillian S., age 72, of 321 E. Illinois St. passed away Tues. Feb. 7th, (1978). She had been a lifetime resident of Whatcom Co. & had been employed by the Darigold Corp. for 42 yrs., retiring as an executive secretary. She was a member of the Church of the Assumption & was a past secretary to the C.C.D. Board of the Assumption Church. A member of the Welcome Valley Senior Citizens & the Bell Creek Orthopedic Assn. Surviving are 1 daughter, Mrs. Burton (Barbara) Horman of Lynden, 3 grandchildren; Michelle Byrnes & John Horman both of B'ham, Janine Horman of Lynden. Also 2 great grandchildren & an uncle F. X. Karwacki of Sedro Woolley. Holy Rosary will be recited in Veroskes Bellingham`Chapel, Thurs. Feb. 9th at 7:30 p.m. with Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated in the Church of the Assumption Fri. BONNEY, James H., age 76, of 1603 Jones Road, passed away in a local hospital Wednesday, February 18, (1953). Mr. Bonney had been a life resident of this community, and was a retired logger. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aerie No. 31. Surviving relatives include three daughters, Mrs. Stanley Linder, of Bellingham, Mrs. Gertrude Lee, of Libby, Montana, and Mrs. Bertha Brandvold, of Bremerton; a son, Lester Bonney, of Richland, Wash.; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a brother, Archie Bonney, in Oregon; and three sisters, Mrs. Amy Lamb, and Miss Alice Bonney, both in Oregon, and Mrs. Nellie Creason, of Renton. The remains rest at the funeral home of Harlow-Hollingsworth where private services will be conducted Monday, Feb. 23, at 10:30 a.m. Final resting place, Fern Hill Cemetery, in Anacortes.

BONSON, Charlotte, 49, wife of former Lynden resident, Leonard Bonsen died Oct. 21st, (1978) in Everett. She had two sons, Steve and Randy. Parents are Mr. and Mrs. Ozzie Saylor all of Everett. Her Mother-in-law, is Mary Bonson of Lynden.

BONSEN, Chris, age 60, of Lynden, Rt. 3, passed away at his home, June 6, (1958) following a short illness. He had resided in Lynden for the past 34 years and was a member of the Whatcom County Dairymen's Assn., and was a carpenter by trade. Survived by his wife, Mary; five sons, Leslie of Yakima; Leonard of Everett; Donald, Bill and Jerry, all of Lynden; six grandchildren; one brother, Peter of Lynden; one sister, Mrs. Henry Shagren of Lynden. Funeral services will be conducted Monday, June 9 at 2 p. m. from the Gillies Funeral Home in Lynden with Rev. L. Lloyd Wells officiating. Interment in the Lynden Cemetery.

BONSEN, Margaret, age 77, of 628 E. Badger Rd., Lynden, passed away Monday, May 29, 1978. Born on March 15, 1900, Mrs. Bonsen moved to the Lynden area with her husband Peter in 1927 from Alberta, Canada. They were married in Alberta on Dec. 29, 1919. Besides her husband, Peter she is survived by a son, Ray of Lynden, 2 daughters, Mrs. Ethel McKay of Ferndale & Mrs. Esther (Bee) Prince of Seattle. 9 grandchildren & 4 great grandchildren. She is also survived by a brother, Johnny Blume & 2 sisters, Miss Katherine Blume & Mrs. Elizabeth Hodgkinson all in Alberta, Canada. Numerous nieces & nephews. Funeral services will be conducted Thurs., June 1 at 11 a.m. in the Lynden Cemetery. Rev. John Finney officiating. Services are under the direction of Gillies Funeral Home.

BOOKER, Ella, age 79 years, Seattle, Wash., passed away at a Bellingham hospital, Sunday, August 5, (1945) following a lingering illness. Mrs. Booker was a pioneer of this county, coming to Bellingham in 1890 with her husband, the late Edward Booker of the contracting firm of Booker and Campbell. She was very active in civic and club activities and was a state officer in the Women's Christian Temperance Union for over forty years and was president for three years. She was a charter member of the Christian Church and was the last living charter member, also a member of the Aftermath Club of this city. Surviving relatives include one son, Guy H. Booker, of Tule Lake, Calif.; one brother, Frank B. Headrick, of Bellingham, and two grandchildren, also numerous other relatives. The remains rest at the Bingham-Dahlquist Funeral Home, where funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 8, at 3:15 p.m., conducted by Rev. Grant Whipple. Interment in Bay View Cemetery.

BOOKER, William W., age 85 years, Blanchard, Wash., passed away in a Bellingham hospital, Thursday, January 3, (1946) following a lingering illness. Mr. Booker had resided in Whatcom County forty-two years previous to moving to Blanchard five years ago. He leaves to survive, one sister, Mrs. Alma Hibbard, of Bellingham; also nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Mr. Booker will be held at the Bingham-Dahlquist Funeral Home, Monday, January 7, at 1:30 p.m., conducted by Rev. Ray S. Wagoner. Cremation.

BOOKEY, Barbara J. of Bellingham died Friday, April 11, 1997, in Bellingham. She was 61. A memorial service will be at 3 p.m. Monday at Jones-Moles Funeral Home. Private burial will be in Bayview Cemetery. Born June 19, 1935, to Ronald and Dorothy Moore Bookey, she graduated from Bellingham High School in 1952 and attended Western Washington University and Bellingham Business College. She worked as a secretary for Prudential Life Insurance Co. in Seattle, for the Seattle School District, and for Boeing Co. for 32 years. She retired in 1993 and moved back to Bellingham. She was preceded in death by her father; a sister, Beryl Eileen Bookey; and her brother, James R. Bookey. Survivors include her mother Dorothy Bookey, sister Kathleen Bookey of Bellingham, three nieces and one nephew.

BOOKEY, Beryl Eileen, age 56 of Bellingham, WA died Tuesday, February 27, 1996 at Shuksan Convalescent Center following an extended illness. She was born August 11, 1939 in Bellingham, WA to Ronald E. and Dorothy J. Bookey. A life time resident of Whatcom Co., Beryl graduated from Bellingham High School in 1957, was a graduate of Bellingham Business College, and attended four years at Western Washington State College. She worked for a short time with the Revenue Office for the U. S. Treasury in Seattle. She enjoyed writing, poetry and music. Survived by her mother, Dorothy Bookey of Bellingham, WA; a brother, James R. Bookey of Kent, WA; two sisters, Barbara Bookey and Kathleen and husband William Dean all of Bellingham, WA; 3 nieces and 1 nephew. Funeral services will be held at Westford Funeral Home Chapel 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 1, 1996.

BOOKEY, Ronald E., age 63 of 1013 Marine Drive, passed away Thursday, April 15, (1976) in a local hospital. He was a member of Birchwood Church and owner of Bookey's Inc. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy; 1 son, James of Wisconsin; 3 daughters, Barbara Bookey of Seattle, Elaine Bookey of Bellingham, Kathleen Burkhart of Bellingham; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Bookey of Bellingham; 1 brother, Jack Bookey Jr., Bellingham; 2 grandchildren. Services will be conducted Friday, April 16 at 2 p.m. in Bay View Cemetery with Rev. Robert Williams officiating. Under the direction of the Westford Funeral Home.

BOOKTER, Gayl F., age 88 of Bellingham, WA, died March 9, 1997 at St. Joseph Hospital. He was born Nov. 11, 1908 in Springfield, Ohio to James and Charlotte (Minturn) Bookter. Gayl married Bonnie Langan in Bellingham, WA on May 3, 1950. Mr. Bookter served in the U.S. Navy for 33 years and retired as Sr. Chief Boatswain's mate. He has worked for Boeing, Walter Fitzgerald Painting, Port of B'ham Uniflite and Whatcom Security. He was a member of Fleet Reserve, Elks Club, Eagles Club and past member of American Legion Post #7. He enjoyed fishing. Survived by his wife, Bonnie Bookter of Bellingham; son Jack Bookter and wife Yvonne of Elgranda, CA; daughters, Kathryn Fuchser of Bellingham and Marceline Klotz of Whittier, CA; a brother, Willard Bookter of Kingston, WA; 16 grandchildren and numerous relatives. Memorial services will be held at Westford Funeral Home Chapel 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 14, 1997. Military honors by American Legion Post #7. Arrangements by Westford Funeral Home.

BOOMAN, Albert F., 95, 205 So. B.C. Ave., died in Lynden Monday, Sept. 14, 1992. Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Gillies Funeral Home Chapel in Lynden. Private burial will precede at Ten Mile Cemetery. Born Sept. 10, 1897, in Lynden to John J. and Maria Booman, he lived in the Lynden area his entire life. He graduated from Lynden High School and received a teaching certificate from Bellingham Normal School and a master of education degree from the University of Washington. Mr. Booman married Florence Gerfen on July 20, 1926, in Lynden. He taught science and woodshop in the Lynden School District for 35 years. As a debate team coach, he led a team to the State Debate Championship. A former member of Lynden United Methodist Church, he was most recently affiliated with the Mount Baker Community of Baha'I Faith. Mr. Booman was a former member of the first Lions Club and the first Kiwanas Club in Lynden; the Lynden Toastmaster's Club; a charter member of the Whatcom County Chapter of the American Association for the United Nations; and a member of the former Lynden Hospital Board established to aid the Lynden Christian Rest Home. During World War Il, he was the Lynden Air Raid Warden, teaching residents to identify aircraft. Mr. Booman was preceded in death by his wife in April 1992.

BOOMAN, Florence L., 88, formerly of 3757 Mount Baker Highway, died Sunday, April 12, 1992, in a Lynden nursing home. Born Florence Gerfen on Feb. 20, 1904, in Colville, she moved to Whatcom County at age 12 with her family. She attended school in Bellingham and graduated from the former Whatcom High School and Bellingham Normal School (Western Washington University). She taught elementary education for four years before marrying F. Albert Booman on July 20, 1926, in Lynden. The Boomans lived on Benson Road north of Lynden until moving in 1971 to Deming. Mrs. Booman was a member of Lynden United Methodist Church and the Mount Baker community of the Baha'i faith. For years, she was a member of the board of Lynden public Library and served on the committee that established Lynden Senior Center. Mrs. Booman taught flower arranging through county-sponsored classes and was a charter member of the Whatcom County Chapter of the American Association for the United Nations. A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Gillies Funeral Home, with Pastor Glen Wolf officiaitng. Burial will come earlier in Ten Mile Cemetery.

BOOMAN, John J., age 95, of Lynden, passed away at his home Sunday, April 25, (1954) following a short illness. He had been a resident of Lynden for the past 65 years. He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Almeda Foster, Mrs. Ellen Nelson; one son, Albert, all of Lynden; nine grandchildren, four great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, April 27, at 11 a.m. from the Gillies Funeral Home in Lynden with Rev. Burton W. Pierce officiating. Interment, Lynden Cemetery.

BOOMAN, Maria Lind, age 79 years, of Lynden, passed away Friday morning, January 3, (1947). She had been a resident of Lynden for the past fifty-five years. She is survived by the husband, J. J. Booman; two daughters, Mrs. Robert E. Nelson and Mrs. Miles Foster; one son, Albert Booman, all of the Lynden district. Also nine grandchildren. BOOMHOWER, Charles, Burlington Man, Dies
Longtime resident of Burlington, Charles H. Boomhower, 88, passed away at the local hospital Monday evening (January, 1955) following an extended illness. Mr. Boomhower had been a resident of Burlington since 1908, moving here from Michigan. Included among the surviving relatives are three sons, H. J. of Oakland, Calif., C. E. of Vallejo, Calif., and Frank Boomhower of Portland; two daughters, Mrs. T. J. Gauthier of Burlington and Mrs. George Ivey of Mount Vernon, and six grandchildren. The remains rest at Walter Hulbush Funeral Home, where services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday. Burial will follow in the Burlington Cemetery.

BOON, Cornelius, age 76, of Lynden, passed away at home Friday, April 23, (1954) following a short illness. Mr. Boon had resided in Oak Harbor since 1907 and had lived in Lynden for the past six years. He is survived by his wife, Johanna; one daughter, Mrs. Herman Bosman of Sumas, three sons, Thys of Sumas, Cornelius and Martin of Oak Harbor; two brothers, Peter of Seattle, and Martin of Lynden; one sister, Mrs. Van Gelderen of The Netherlands, and 12 grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, April 27, at 2 p.m. at the First Christian Reformed Church in Lynden, with the Rev. Louis Voskuil officiating. Interment, Monumenta Cemetery, under the direction of Gillies Funeral Home in Lynden.

BOON, Johanna, age 72, of Lynden, passed away in a local hospital Monday, Oct. 22, (1956) following a short illness. She had resided in the Lynden district for the past nine years. Surviving relatives include one daughter, Mrs. Herman Bosman of Sumas; three sons, Thys of Sumas, Cornelius and Martin, both of Oak Harbor; 14 grandchildren and one great grandchild; one brother and two sisters in Holland. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, Oct. 25, at 2 p. m. from the Third Christian Reform Church in Lynden with the Rev. F. Van Houten officiating. Interment Monumenta Cemetery, under the direction of the Gillies Funeral Home in Lynden.

BOON, Martin, age 80, of 1405 E Street Lynden, passed away at his home Thursday, March 12, (1964) following and extended illness. He had been a resident of Lynden the past 24 years and was a retired farmer. He was a member of the Lynden Gospel Hall. Surviving are his wife, Alice; 1 brother, Peter of Seattle; 1 sister, Tryntje Vangeleren of Holland. Funeral services will be held in the Gillies Funeral Home Tuesday, March 17, at 2:00 p.m. with burial to follow in the Monumenta Cemetery.

BOON, Thys, age 66 of 331 Front St., Sumas, passed away Wed., Sept. 21, (1977). Born in Coupeville, Mr Boon was a retired farmer and had been a 30-year resident of the Sumas area. He was a member of the Sumas Christian Reformed Church and on Sept. 22, 1944 was married to Minnie Jager in Lynden. Besides his wife, Minnie, he is survived by 4 sons, Keith and Dale of Sumas, Vernon at home and Ronald in Everson; 2 brothers, Martin and Cornelius in Oak Harbor and a sister, Mrs. Christina (Herman) Bosman of Lynden; 5 grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted on Sat. Sept. 24 at 1 p.m. in the Sumas Christian Reformed Church, Rev. Bill VandenBos officiating. Burial will follow in Monumenta Cemetery. Services are under the direction of the Gillies Funeral Home, Lynden.

BOONE, Arthur D., age 58, of Route 3, Ferndale, passed away at Vancouver, Wash., (January, 1954) after an illness of 35 years. Mr. Boone had been a resident of the Ferndale community for the past 33 years and was a member of the Northern Light Lodge, F & A. M. of Seattle. He was also a member of the Kulshan Post of the American Legion. He leaves to survive his wife, Clara; three sisters, Mrs. Helen DeWitt of White Rock, B. C., Mrs. Ella Engstrom of Seattle, Mrs. Emma Baily of Monroe, Wash.; one brother, Oscar Lindstrom of Bellingham. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, January 30, at the Monroe Funeral Chapel in Ferndale with the Rev. George Baird officiating. The Kulshan Post of the American Legion will give graveside military honors. Interment Woodlawn Cemetery.

BOONE, Florence, age 92, of Route 3, Ferndale, passed away at a Bellingham hospital Sunday, February 17, (1952) following a brief illness. Mrs. Boone had been a resident of Neptune Beach for the past 68 years and was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church of Ferndale. She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Marie Sullivan of Neptune Beach. Rosary will be said Tuesday, February 19, at 7:30 p.m. from the Monroe Funeral Home in Ferndale. Requiem mass will be said within the St. Joseph Catholic Church Wednesday, February 20, at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Father James Buck, officiating. Interment, Greenacres Memorial Park.

BOONE, Lena Everson, whose residence was Long Beach, Calif., passed away Thursday, August 13, (1953) at the age of 74 years, following a brief illness. Mrs. Boone was a former resident of this city and returned a few weeks ago. She was a member of the Church of Assumption. Mrs. Boone is survived by her husband, Mr. John W. Boone of Long Beach, Calif. Requiem mass will be said Monday, August 17 at 9:30 a. m. within the Church of the Assumption, Rev. Fr. Bernard V. Cremer celebrant. Interment Bay View Cemetery under direction of Bingham-Dahlquist & Jerns.

BOOTH, Ada P., age 87, passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Phil L. Donovan, 1512 Fairview Ave., Friday, Dec. 19, (1958). Mrs. Booth had resided in this community for the past 30 years and leaves to survive other than her daughter, one son, Robert Hart Prigmore, of Portland, Ore.; five grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. The remains rest at the Jones Funeral Home where services will be conducted by Dr. W. Carl Calhoun Monday, Dec. 22, at 10:00 a.m. Graveside services and interment will follow at Lakeview Cemetery in Seattle at 2:00 p.m.

BOOTH, Charles - Funeral services for Charles Booth, aged 73 years, North Bellingham, will be held at Ten Mile cemetery, Friday afternoon, June 2, at 1:30 o'clock with the Rev. Father Martin J. Duggan, pastor of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Ferndale, officiating. Interment under the direction of Homer Mark. BOOTH, Edward J., age 67, of 2923 W. Maplewood Ave., passed away in a Seattle Hospital, Sunday Dec. 20, (1959). Mr. Booth had resided in Bellingham for the past 38 years; was a retired tallyman for the Larson Mill; was a taxidermist at the Bellingham Museum; was a member of Kingdom Hall. Survivors are his widow, Mabel, at home; one daughter, Mrs. Evelyn Parisi and one grandson, Curtis Parisi, both of Palo Alto, Calif.; three brothers, Vern Booth, of New York, Vance Booth of North Dakota, and Lawrence Booth of Los Angeles; one sister, Mrs. Pearl Eck of Phoenix, Ariz. The remains rest at the Jones Funeral Home where services will be conducted Thursday, Dec. 24, at 10:30 a.m.

BOOTH, Floyd Henry, age 51, passed away at his home, 3313 W. Maplewood, Thursday, October 27, (1949). Mr. Booth had resided in this community for the past 29 1/2 years and had been a popular restaurant owner and operator. Deceased was a member of the Methodist Church; Fairhaven Lodge No. 73, F. & A. M.; F. O. E. Aerie No. 31 and Albert J. Hamilton Post No. 7, American Legion. Surviving relatives are the widow, Anna M., at home; one brother, Clyde, of Biloxi, Miss.; three sisters, Mrs. Elsie Hull and Mrs. Ruth Lang, both of LaCrescenta, Calif., and Miss Alma Booth of St. Louis, Mo. The remains are at the funeral home of Harlow-Hollingsworth where services will be conducted by the Rev. W. Carl Calhoun, Saturday, October 29, at 11 a.m. Cremation.

BOOTH, Rose of Marysville died Thursday, Sept. 18, 1997. She was 84. A service was held Monday at Greenacres Memorial Park. Born Feb. 10, 1913, to Vincent and Henrietta Marcolini Ferrante in Kenosha, Wis., she lived in Ferndale from 1954 to 1971. Survivors include daughter Patricia Sager of Port Orchard, sister Julia Covelli of Kenosha, Wis., four grandchildren and numerous other relatives. Arrangements are by Moles Funeral Home.

BOOTHE, Barbara Ann, New York City, age 46, passed away Tuesday, November 15, (1966). Barbara had resided in this city, and attended local schools before moving to New York City thirteen years ago. She was an advertising agent. She is survived by her mother, Mrs. Elsa Boothe, city; a sister, Mrs. Helen McCabe of Arroyo Grande, Calif.; one niece; one nephew in California, and an aunt, Miss Anna Beiswenger, city. Services will be conducted by Rev. Oscar Olson Friday, November 18 at 10:30 a.m. at the Jones Funeral Home, followed by cremation.

BOOTHBY, Rev. Freeman F., age 75 years, of 6310 Fleming Road, Everett, Washington, passed away early Wednesday morning (January 5, 1949) following a lingering illness. Rev. Boothby was born in Altona, Ontario, Canada, June 22, 1873, and came to the United States when 27, and was minister of the First Methodist Church in Gladstone, N. D. He moved West in 1923, residing in Asotin, Wash., then moved to Nooksack and Kalama where he retired after forty years in the ministry. He was a member of the Pacific Northwest Conference of First Methodist Churches. He leaves to survive, his wife, Mrs. Sarah Boothby at home; three sons, Lynn, A. J. and Thomas F. Boothby, all of Seattle; two daughters, Miss Elmina Boothby, of Bellingham, and Mrs. Norman Bucklin, of Seattle; one sister, Mrs. George Hughes, of Toronto, Ontario, Canada; two brothers, Charles E., of Mission, B.C., and Ben F., of Los Angeles, Calif.; also five grandsons. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, January 8, at 1 p.m. from the First Methodist Church of Everett, with the Rev. J. C. Harrison of the First Methodist Church officiating. Burial in the family plot in Forest Lawn Cemetery in Seattle under the direction of the Challacombe & Fickel funeral home of Everett.
