LARSON, Agnes J. - Funeral services for Mrs. Agnes J. Larson, 68, Yakima, will be at 1 p.m. Friday in Garden Street Methodist Church. A resident of Bellingham for nine years, she moved to Yakima two years ago. She was a member of the Garden Street Church. She died Tuesday (April 24, 1973). Survivors include the husband, Edward; a daughter, Joan Milburn of Bellingham; two grandchildren and sister, Ruth Hovdenes of Twin Valley, Minn.

Mr. Larson was a farmer, a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Bellingham Aerie No. 31 FOE. He was a member of Sons of Norway. He is survived by his wife Ellen, two sons, Larry of Auburn and Kenneth of Edmonds; one daughter, Mrs. Arlene Compton of Everson; 11 grandchildren; one great-grandchild, brother Chris of Phoenix, Arizona; sister, Mrs. Jennie Hansen, Sumas; one step-sister, Ann Likness of Seattle; one step-brother, Chris Mortensen of Bellingham, several nieces and nephews. Services were Dec. 5 at Immanuel Lutheran Church. Rev. Lewis Clefisch officiated. Burial followed at the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery.
LARSON, Alice Mary of Burlington and a former resident of Anacortes passed away Wednesday, June 16, 1999 at the Island Hospital in Anacortes, WA at the age of 73 years. Services and arrangements are pending at Lemley Chapel, Sedro-Woolley.

A resident of Bellingham for 36 years, Mrs. Larson had been a teacher in Blaine and Anacortes. Survivors include her husband, Eric S. Larson, at home; a daughter, Mrs. Katherine Cederstrom, Soda Springs, Idaho; two brothers, J. Howard Pine, Melba, Idaho, and Oliver R. Pine, Portland, Oregon; a sister, Mrs. Virginia Booth, San Mateo, Calif.; and two grandchildren. The remains rest at the Jones Funeral Home where services will be conducted by Rev. Max K. Oliphant, Wednesday, June 9 at 11 a.m, followed by burial in Greenacres Memorial Park.
LARSON, Altea S., 72, a Sedro Woolley resident for the past year died at a Burlington nursing home on Thurs., Jan. 19, (1978). She was born in Seattle in 1905. She had been an Oakland, CA resident for 20 years prior to coming to Sedro Woolley. Miss Larson is survived by 2 sisters, Martha Larson, Bellingham and Wilma Miller of Sedro Woolley; 1 aunt and five nieces and nephews; a brother, Walter Larson preceded her in death in 1967. Graveside services will be held at Sedro Woolley Cemetery, Monday, Jan. 23 at 3 p.m. Friends wishing to pay their respect may call [at] the Lemely Chapel prior to 3:15 Monday.
LARSON, Alvie A., 72, a Bellingham native, died Saturday (Dec. 10, 1988) at the Renaissance Care Center in Yakima. Mr. Larson was born April 18, 1916, to the late Hjalmar and Netti (Kildall) Larson. He received his early education in Bellingham before beginning work at a box factory as a young man. He married Ardiss Benson on Oct. 31 1936, in Lynden. During World War II, he worked at the Bellingham Shipyard. In August 1959, the couple moved to San Juan Island, where Alvie worked for Friday Harbor Sand and Gravel Co. He retired in 1981 and moved with his wife to Mount Vernon in 1984. The couple recently came to the Yakima area. He was a member of Bellingham Masonic Lodge No. 73 and the Central Lutheran Church in Bellingham. He enjoyed boating and especially enjoyed fishing. He was preceded in death by a brother and a sister. Survivors include his wife and three brother, Lester Larson of Portland, Ore., Elmer A. Larson of Yakima and Edward G. Larson of Seattle. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Jones Funeral Home, with the Rev. Dennis Anderson officiating. Burial will follow in Greenacres Memorial Park. Arrangements are by Merritt Funeral Home of Wapato.
LARSON, Andrew Larson, aged 79 years, 2516 St. Paul street, passed away at a local hospital Thursday, July 2, (1942). Mr. Larson had resided in Bellingham, for the past eight years and was a member of the Lutheran church and the Nasburg Lodge No. 93, F.&A.M., of Helix, Oregon. He is survived by two sons Murray W. Ferguson, of Bellingham, and Charles M. Larson, Wallula, Wash., and six grandchildren. The remains rest at the funeral home of Harlow-Hollingsworth where funeral services will be conducted by officers and members of Bellingham Bay lodge No. 44 Monday, July 6, at 1:30 p.m. Cremation.

LARSON, Andrew, age 81, of Route 1, Lynden, passed away at a Tacoma Hospital Friday, February 9, (1951) following a short illness. Mr. Larson was a former employee of the Northern Pacific Railroad. Surviving relatives include his wife, Sophia; 2 sons, Howard of Cleveland, Ohio, and Justus of Rochester, N.Y.; three sisters, Mrs. Frank Show in North Dakota; Mrs. Vera Gifferd of Vancouver, B.C., and Mrs. John Otteson of Detroit Lake, Minn.; eight grandchildren. Services will be conducted within the Chapel of the Gillies Funeral Home in Lynden, Tuesday, February 13, at 2 p.m.
LARSON, Ann, infant daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jack O. Larson who resided at 921 20th St. passed away in a local hospital Thursday, July 18, (1963). She leaves to survive besides her parents a brother Eric Jack Larson, Baby Ann was a member of the sacred Heart Church. Graveside services were held on Monday, July 22 in Greenacres Memorial Park under the direction of the Bingham & Jern's Funeral Home.
LARSON, Anna, 82, of 1514 F St., passed away in a local hospital, Saturday, July 27, (1957). Mrs. Larson had resided in this community for the past 65 years and leaves to survive one son, Edwin P. Olson of Springfield, Ore.; three grandchildren, Fred Olson and Mrs. Marian Jenkins, both of Springfield, Ore., and Mrs. Judy Coghill of Eugene, Ore. The remains rest at the Jones' Harlow-Hollingsworth Funeral Home where services were conducted by the Rev. Walter Naff, Tuesday, July 30, at 10:30 a.m. Cremation.
LARSON, Anna, age 78 years, of 1018 Liberty St., passed away in a local hospital Tuesday, June 19th, (1962). Mrs. Larson had been a resident of Whatcom County for the past 52 years and was a member of the Northwest Baptist Church. She is survived by five daughters, Mrs. Ruth Johnson, Ferndale, Miss Violet Larson and Mrs. Edith Cunningham, Bellingham, Mrs. Alma DeGrace, Renton, Mrs. Bertha Larson, Lynden; one son, Herbert Larson, Ferndale; three sisters, Mrs. Eva Phillipi, Motte, N.D., Mrs. Esther Freeburg and Mrs. Edia Person of Bismark, N.D.; two brothers, Carl Rask and Erick Rask, both of Mandan, N.D.; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, June 23rd, at 1:30 p.m. in Moles Funeral Chapel. Final resting place Enterprise.

LARSON, Anna H. - A graveside memorial service for Anna H. Larson, a former Bellingham resident, is scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday at Bayview Cemetery. The Rev. David Klarkson will preside over the service. Larson, 97, died Nov. 27, 1983 in Novato, Calif., where she had lived for eight years. Born in Norway, Lawson was a Bellingham resident for 50 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. Jacob R. Larson, a Baptist minister who served at the Calvary Baptist Church in Bellingham. She is survived by a daughter, two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Larson worked for 15 years as a dairy rancher before retiring.
LARSON, Anna J., age 85, passed away at a local nursing home Fri., Jan. 16, (1976). She had been a resident of Whatcom County for 64 years and was a member of Our Saviour's Lutheran Church. She is survived by 1 son, LeRoy O. Larson of Seattle; 2 brothers, Theodore Jacobsen of San Diego, Jarle Jacobsen of Norway; 2 sisters, Asbjorg Olsen & Amalie Jacobsen both of Norway, 2 grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews, both in American and Norway. Leaves to survive 3 daughters, Rose Neilson of Ephrata, WA; Ruth Campbell of California; and Rudy [Ruby] Mills of Bellingham; a grandson, Greg and wife Ester Starkey of Bellingham; also 6 other grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and 5 great great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Larson came to Fairhaven April 1, 1883, and was a member of the Sacred Heart Church. Surviving relatives are one daughter, Mrs. Lois M. Johnson of Bellingham; two sisters, Mrs. Mary A. Stokes of Renton, and Mrs. Catherine Charroin of Bellingham; four grandchildren, Mrs. Catherine Innes, Miss Mary Ellen Johnson and John and Frank H. Johnson Jr.; also two great-grandchildren. Misses Suzanne and Frannie Innes, all of Bellingham, and numerous nieces and nephews. Rosary will be said Tuesday, Oct. 17, at 7:30 p.m. at the Sacred Heart Church. Requiem High Mass will be sung Wednesday, Oct. 18, at 9:30 a.m. by the Rev. Fr. A. J. Shaughnessy, celebrant, followed by interment in Bay View, under the direction of Harlow-Hollingsworth.
LARSON, Anne J. - Visitation for Anne J. Larson of Deerwood Adult Family Home will be from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Greenacres Funeral Home, followed by a funeral at 11 a.m. at Greenacres Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ron Davis officiating. Ms. Larson died Saturday, Aug. 10, 1996, at St. Joseph Hospital. She was 92. Born Dec. 19, 1903, to Eric and Anna Larson in Bellingham, she graduated from Bellingham Normal School in 1924 with a teaching certificate. She was a teacher in Whatcom County, Roosevelt Elementary School in Bellingham and Cascade Grade School in Marysville. After retiring in 1965, she returned to Bellingham. A member of Assembly of God Church, Ms. Larson was active in missionary work and enjoyed playing guitar and singing gospel songs at the Salvation Army. She was involved with the American Red Cross and a member of Retired Teacher's Association and the PTA.
(From The Bellingham Herald, 13 Aug 1996) Submitted by Merrily Lawson.LARSON, Ardiss Eloise, 92, of Anacortes, WA died Saturday, Dec. 24, 2005 at Island Hospital in Anacortes. She was born August 18, 1913 in Monroe, Washington, the daughter Alfred S. & Alice Kristine (Hamre) Benson and along with her three brothers, grew up in Lynden, Washington. In Lynden, Ardiss attended grade school through high school, and upon graduation, attended Business College in Bellingham, Washington, where she received her degree. She then went on to work for the county performing clerical work. While Ardiss was attending Business College, she met a special young man named Alvie. They fell in love and married several years later. Al worked at Bellingham Shipyard and Ardiss was employed in the office of Olympic Portland Cement Company. When the Bellingham Shipyard closed, Al sought work elsewhere and took a job at the Friday Harbor Sand and Gravel Company, so Ardiss and Al moved to San Juan Island. While in San Juan Island, she accepted an offer from the courthouse auditor and took on the intense job that involved learning the duties of every department. Ardiss and Al worked hard, but enjoyed life on the island because it was less crowded and more serene than the mainland. They spent 25 years together there. One special enjoyment was their large boat they used for fishing and relaxing. Ardiss and Al traveled to California and other places in their motor home. They especially enjoyed their trip to the Hawaiian Islands. Alvie's poor health brought them back from the island to their family in Washington. They made their home in Mount Vernon and later moved to Yakima since both of them had family there. Alvie died shortly after they moved to Yakima, but Ardiss stayed on in Yakima until April of 2004 when she moved to Chandler's Square in Anacortes. Her hobbies included playing the organ, reading, crossword and jigsaw puzzles, and many types of games. Ardiss is preceded in death by her husband and parents and two brothers. She is survived by her brother Wayne Bitterman of Bellevue, WA; sister-in-law Mary Benson of Yakima, WA; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Elmer & Lou Larson of Yakima, WA; nephews LeRoy Benson, Marvin Benson and Jerry Benson; nieces Judy Potter, Sheila Lawton and Sharon Jonsson and many grand and great grand nephews and nieces. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, December 29, 2005 at Evans Funeral Chapel in Anacortes with Pastor Debra Benson officiating. Burial will follow the funeral service at Green Acres Memorial Park in Ferndale, Washington.

He was 83. Visitation will be 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday and 9 to 10 a.m. Friday at Metcalf Mortuary Chapel in St. George. A funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday in the chapel. Burial will follow at 3 p.m. at Centerfield Cemetery in St. George. Born July 15, 1910, in Axtel, Utah, to Ole Jr. and Caroline Larson, Mr. Larson married Bernice Sorenson on Nov. 11, 1936. He worked in the poultry business, as a carpenter and in the drive-in-theater business. Active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he served as a bishop and high councilman and did mission work in Canada. He lived in Utah, San Francisco and Bellingham before moving to St. George in 1979. Mr. Larson enjoyed golfing, water skiing, fishing and, earlier in his life, boxing. Survivors include his wife of the family home; daughters Barbara Chasan of Vashon, Pauline Shafia of Glendora, Calif., and Susan Adams of Mapleton, Utah; 11 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
LARSON, Arthur G., age 56, passed away suddenly at the family home, 508 Garden street, Tuesday, October 17, (1950). Mr. Larson had been a life resident of this community and was the secretary-treasurer of the Model Truck & Storage Company and a member of the Gospel Hall. Surviving relatives are his widow, Eva W. at home; one son, Howard K., attending M.I.T. in Boston, Mass.; two daughters, Mrs. Shirley Osbrink, of Spokane and Miss Barbara Larson at home; two sisters, Mrs. Paloma Megard, of Arlington, Wash., and Mrs. Minerva Foster, of Walnut Creek, Calif.; one brother, Irving, of Vancouver Island, B.C. The remains rest at the funeral home of Harlow-Hollingsworth where services will be conducted by Mr. John Hunt, Saturday, October 21, at 3 p.m. Interment in Bay View Cemetery.
LARSON, Ben, age 80 of 510 Magnolia St., passed away in a local nursing home Saturday, May 23, (1959) following an extended illness. He had been a resident of the county more than 50 years. He was a member of the Coal Miners Union. Survivors include his wife Irene, 2 daughters, Mrs. Beatrice Fuhrmann in New Jersey, Mrs. Jeanne Schneider of San Gabriel, Calif.; 1 son, Robert of Everson; 1 grandson, 1 sister, Mrs. Eunice Jensen of Ferndale, numerous other relatives. Funeral services will be conducted in the Moles-Monroe Funeral Chapel Wednesday, May 27 at 2 p.m., with Rev. Calvin Moore officiating. She was born on January 23, 1910 in Ferndale, Washington to Nels August and Anna (Rask) Larson. She graduated from Ferndale High School in 1926, from Bellingham Normal School and then Western Washington University. Bertha taught at Delta, Sunrise, Custer, Ferndale, and Meridian schools. Later she became speech therapist for all the Whatcom County schools. Bertha was a member of Sunrise Baptist Church for 60 years, serving the Lord as Sunday school teacher, wedding coordinator and in the women's ministries. She enjoyed gardening, especially growing and arranging dahlias. She also served for 22 years as a volunteer at St. Lukes Hospital. Bertha is preceded in death by her husband, Paul G., four sisters and two brothers. She is survived by daughter, Mary and husband Leroy King and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives. He was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, attended school thru the 7th grade in Mount Vernon and completed school at Meridian. He is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert E. Larson, City, 3 brothers, Paul Larson of Nauvoo, Illinois, John Larson of Sedro Woolley and David Larson at home, his grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Grimsrud of Veblen, So. (From The Bellingham Herald, 14 Apr 1978) Submitted by Merrily Lawson.LARSON, Burt, 1173 E. Grover St., Lynden, died at his home on April 7, 1993 following an extended illness. He was 73. A lifetime Lynden resident, Burt was born in Bellingham on Dec. 3, 1919, the son of Louis and Mary Babcock Larson. He attended Lynden schools and graduated from Lynden High School in 1938. He was married to Lillian Burma in Lynden on Jan. 18, 1940. During World War II [he] served in the Army. Following the service, Burt was employed at the former Whatcom Farmers Co-Op and then for 28 years was employed in the Engineering Department of the Washington State Department of Transportation. An avid fisherman and hunter, Burt also was a member of First Baptist Church in Lynden; a 32nd Degree Mason and member of Lynden Lodge No. 56 F & AM and Scottish Rite Body; Lynden Chapter No. 12 Order of Eastern Star; and for many years was Dad Advisor for Lynden Rainbow Girls No. 70. He was also a member of the former American Legion Post in Lynden and for many years was the secretary of Lynden Cemetery District N. 10. He is survived by his wife Lillian of the family home; two daughters, Shirley and husband Lee Jones of Ferndale and Mary Sealund of Ferndale; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Evelyn Kemphaus of Bellingham and Helen Simons of Portland, Ore. and numerous other relatives. Besides his parents, he was preceded by three brothers and two sisters. A memorial funeral service was conducted Saturday in First Baptist Church with Rev. Hoyt Sherwin officiating. Private urn interment was in Lynden Cemetery. Services and cremation were under the care of Gillies Funeral Home, Lynden.

Mr. Larson had been a lifetime resident of Whatcom County and had made his home in the Sumas area since 1921. He had served with the U.S. Navy during World War I and was a member of the Sumas Advent Christian Church. Surviving are his wife, Nora; one son, Richard of Bellingham; one daughter, Mrs. Gerald VanDiest of Sumas; two brothers, Chris of Nooksack, Alfred of Lawrence; one sister, Mrs. Carl Hanson of Sumas; also 10 grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at the Sumas Advent Christian Church, Thursday, Feb. 2, at 2 p.m., Rev. Earl Crouse officiating. Burial will follow in the Sumas Cemetery under the direction of the Gillies Funeral Home in Sumas.
LARSON, Carl William, age 65, of Rt. 3, Ferndale, passed away Sunday at his home after an extended illness. Mr. Larson had been a dairy farmer and had lived in the Ferndale area for 42 years. Survivors include the wife, Frances, at home; two daughters, Mrs. Edith Ogmundson, of Rt. 1, Blaine, and Mrs. Mattie Johnke of Ferndale; two sons, Vern in Maine and Carl A. Larson of Rt. 3, Ferndale, and a sister, Mrs. Tillie Larson of Bellingham. Funeral services will be conducted, Friday, Dec. 30, at 2 p.m. from the Monroe Funeral Chapel in Ferndale with the Rev. C. LARSON, Carrie (Holt), 90, of Bellingham, former Edison resident, died Tuesday, March 13, 1990, at the Bellingham Care Center. She was born October 7, 1899 in Egersund, Norway, and came to the United States in 1920. She resided in Edison until moving to Seattle in 1921. Her marriage to Oscar Holt took place April 7, 1923, in Seattle. In 1936 they moved to Egersund, Norway for a short time, and returned to Skagit County in 1939. Mr. Holt died in 1965. She married Ben Larson on December 14, 1974, in Bellingham. He died in 1989. Mrs. Larson was a member of Calvary Temple, Bellingham, and was formerly a member of Viewcrest Assembly of God Church, Mount Vernon. Surviving are one daughter and son-in-law, Sheila and Hugh Wiese, Seattle; one son and daughter-in-law, John and Shirley Tollefson, Mount Vernon; 4 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews in Norway. LARSON, Charlotte L. - Funeral services for Mrs. Charlotte L. Llalrson, age 66, of 402 Main Street, Lynden were conducted on Monday, August 11, at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Gillies Funeral Home with Rev. William Abo officiating. Burial followed in Greenacres Memorial Park. A lifetime resident, Mrs. Larson died at her home on Wednesday, August 6, (1980). She had been active in the Lynden Senior Activity Center and had also played the accordian (sic) for many groups throughout the county for many years. She was married to her husband, Walter in Bellingham on October 7, 1935. She is survived by her husband Walter; a son Walter L. Larson of Pleasanton, California; two daughters, Mrs. Par (Dennis) Hoekstra of Lynden and Mrs. Christine (Richard) Hazell of Dayton, Ohio; eight grandchildren; two brothers, Bill Tollum of Bellingham and Ronald Tollum of Phoenix, Arizona; five sisters, Mrs. Katherine Starkovick of Lawrence, Mrs. Alice Barton of Everett, Mrs. Marge Seiber of Salem, Oregon, Mrs. Marion Dahl of Edmonds and Mrs. Beatrice Erickson of Cashmere and numerous nieces and nephews.
LARSON, Christian Kornelius, age 79, passed away at the family home, Rt. 2, Everson, Friday, August 1, (1947). Mr. Larson had been a resident of this community for the past 40 years and was a member of the Bethany Lutheran Church. Surviving relatives are the widow, Marie, and one son, Bernard, both at home; one daughter, Mrs. W. D. Turnage, of Wade, N.C., and one sister, Henrietta Olson, of Namsos, Norway. LARSON, Clara O., age 95, passed away on January 31, 2006, at Mt. Baker Care Center. She was born on October 7, 1910, to Knut and Regina Pilskog in Blaine, Washington. Clara was a graduate of Blaine High School and Bellingham Business College. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Bellingham. Preceding Clara in death were her husband, Cal Larson; her parents, brothers Andrew and Clarence Pilskog, and sister Olga Pulley. Clara is survived by a son, Larry Larson; daughter Carolyn Larson; four grandchildren, Kevin Wight, Kimberly George, Zachary Larson, and Erica Larson; daughters-in-law Tammy Wight and Barbara Larson; and three great-grandchildren. The family would like to thank Mt. Baker Care Center and their staff for the wonderful care of Clara while she was a resident at the center. LARSON, Donald O. - A service of remembrance for Donald O. Larson of Bellingham will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Jerns Funeral Chapel with the Rev. David Lund officiating. Mr. Larson died Saturday, Nov. 11, 2000 in Bellingham. He was 88. Born July 26, 1912 to Emil and Hattie (Johnson) Larson in Clearbrook, he lived in Whatcom County most of his life. In 1932, he graduated from Nooksack Valley High School. Mr. Larson worked in Oregon and Alaska before settling in Bellingham. On May 15, 1940, he married Violet Hill at Clearbrook Lutheran Church. His brother Marvin Larson died previously. Survivors include his wife of Bellingham; daughters Ruth Hunt of Bellingham and Judy Murphy of Ferndale; brothers Ted Larson of Bellingham and Harold Larson of Silverdale; sister Myrtle Bruland of Bellingham; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and many other relatives.

She was born May 1, 1930 in Havana, ND to Ed and Katherine Grimsrud. She attended elementary school in rural Marshall County and graduated from high school in Veblen, SD. She attended nursing school in Mitchell, SD. She married Robert E. Larson in South Dakota. He survives her at the family home. The family moved to Washington in 1956. They resided in Mount Vernon before moving to Bellingham. Mrs. Larson was a member of Faith Lutheran Church and the Church Circle. Other survivors include her sons, Paul Larson of Keokuk, Iowa; Jon Larson of Renton; and David Larson of Blaine; her brother, Joe Daily of Veblen, SD; her sister Prudence Grimsrud of Britton, SD; and four grandchildren. She was born as Edna Waldorf on Oct. 30, 1894 in Oswego, Ore., and moved to Whatcom County in 1978. Mrs. Larson was past Nobel Grand of the Rebecca Lodge in Oswego and a member of the Oswego Quilting Club. Survivors include three sons, Vern Larson and Wayne Larson, both of Bellingham, and Glen Larson of San Francisco; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. LARSON, Edward J., age 76 of 908 S 28th Ave., Yakima passed away there June 29, (1973). He was a veteran of WWI and a member of the Garden Street Methodist Church. He came to Bellingham in 1962 and moved to Yakima in Nov. of 1971. Mr. Larsen (sic) was employed by the International Harvester Corp. of Fargo, N. Dak. LARSON, Elizabeth H. M. was born December 9, 1931 in Kilsyth, Stirlingshire, Scotland as Elizabeth Hay Miller Patrick to Alan Rennie and Catherine Aitken Patrick. She passed away July 12, 2006 and was preceded in death by her loving husband, Eugene Dale Larson (Gene) of Ferndale, Washington on January 19, 2006. She is survived by her brother Alan Patrick Jr. of Maple Ridge, British Columbia, her son Philip Dale Larson, and grandchildren Michael Philip Larson and David Scott Larson of Maple Valley, Washington. Married to Gene Larson on February 3rd 1951 in Vancouver, B.C., Elizabeth (Betty) became a naturalized citizen in December 1955 in Ketchikan, Alaska where they lived and raised their only son, Philip (born July 18th 1959) until they moved to Ferndale in 1971. Betty was active in curling when she lived in Canada, and in bowing when she moved to the U.S. She remained a competitive bowler until her later years and won numerous awards. Betty thoroughly enjoyed playing bingo and was doing so as she suffered a fatal stroke. Betty was one of the kindest, sweetest people, and the most patient mother and wife you could ever know. She will be sadly missed by many. A Funeral Service will be held at Moles Funeral Home Ferndale Chapel, on Saturday, July 29th at 3 p.m. with a reception to follow.

LARSON, Ernest A., age 41, passed away at a local hospital Saturday, December 27, (1947) after a brief illness. He was a resident of Ferndale since [he] was two years old. He operated a barber shop in Custer for several years and for the past six years. He is survived by his widow, Ava; one daughter, Kathryn, and one son, Jay; also two brothers, Oliver, of Bellingham, and Herbert, of Ferndale; a nephew, Oliver Gene Larson, of Bellingham, besides numerous other relatives. LARSON, Ethel A. – Private family services are planned for Ethel Alberta (Archer) Larson of Lynden. Mrs. Larson died Tuesday, June 20, 2000 at St. Joseph Hospital. She was 83. Born Feb 11, 1917 to John and Rose (Pollock) Archer in Red Deer, Alberta, she was educated in Canada. Mrs. Larson worked in the newspaper advertising business in California and Hawaii and retired in Palm Desert, Calif. In 1949, she married Theodore G. Larson in Las Vegas. He died in 1955. Survivors include nieces Shirley Booth of Abbotsford, B.C. and Lucy Harris of Edmonton, Alberta; and many great-nieces and great-nephews. Mrs. Larson moved to Lynden in 1998. Memorial services will be held today in Scottsdale. He received a master's degree from the University of Minnesota in 1939, and received a doctorate in 1946. Dr. Larson had a private practice in Bellingham for many years. He was a member of the American Medical Association and the Lions Club in Bellingham. He also was associated with the American College of Physicians. He left Bellingham in 1975 to move to Arizona. Survivors include his wife, Doris, of the family home; daughter Kay Heileman of Scottsdale; son Richard E. Larson of Cottonwood, Ariz.; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. LARSON, Freda - Funeral services for Mr. Freda E. Larson, lifetime Nooksack area resident, were conducted on Wednesday, May 2, at 2:00 p.m. in the Nooksack Advent Christian Church with the Rev. Michael Gooding officiating. Burial followed in the Nooksack Cemetery. Mrs. Larson, age 84, died on Monday, April 30, (1979), at the home of her daughter in Granite Falls. She had been a member of the Nooksack Advent Christian Church since the age of 18 and had moved to Granite Falls the first of April. She is survived by two sons, Phillip of Schenectady, New York and Larry of Spokane; her daughter, Mrs. Lois Blythe of Granite Falls; ten grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. Mr. Larson was a sixty-five year resident of this community and was a shingle weaver before his retirement. He was a member of the Full Gospel Church. LARSON, Glendyn, 54, 1513 Ten Mile Road, died Thursday (Jan. 30, 1986) at St. Luke's General Hospital. He was born Jan. 26, 1932, in Minnesota, but lived in Whatcom County for 20 years. During most of that time, he worked as radiology manager at St. Luke's. He attended Northwest Baptist Church. Mr. Larson received his professional training at Oregon Institute of Technology. Not log after his arrival at St. Luke's for post-class-room training, he impressed hospital radiologists with his ability and was recommended for the manager's position. He was a member of the American Registry of Radiological Technologists and the American Society of Radiological Technologists. Survivors include his wife, Dorothy; his parents, Gerald and Helen Larson, of Bricelyn, Minn.; a son; and a sister. Services will be in Albert Lea, Minn., with burial there. LARSON, Glenn Irwin, age 85, passed away Wednesday, May 16, 2007 in Bellingham. He was born November 19, 1921 to Rudolph and Olive Larson. Glenn, a University of Washington alumni, retired from The Bellingham Herald after 35 years working as a reporter and editor. He served in the U.S. Coast Guard as Yeoman First Class during WWII. He was a long-time member of Bellingham Covenant Church and a life member of the Bellingham Theatre Guild. Glenn supported the arts and regularly attended Whatcom Symphony Orchestra performances. Throughout his life Glenn performed as an actor/singer at the Theater Guild and at WWU. Glenn volunteered over 20 years through the RSVP program at the Bellingham Visitors Center. He was preceded in death by his wife Marie M. Nelson in 1987. He is survived by daughters Doris (husband Will) Medlicott of Stanwood, WA and Janice (husband Larry) Lintner of Portland, OR; son Donald (wife Carol) of Temple City, CA, and five grandchildren. A Celebration of Glenn's Life will be held at Westford Funeral Home on Friday, May 18 at 1 p.m. followed by a reception across the street at Westford's Broadway Hall.

LARSON, Harold Olai, Born January 4, 1915 in Bergen, Norway. He died Sunday June 5, 1994. He was a devout Alaska salmon fisherman for nearly four decades in tight companionship with his sons and friends fishing side by side. He alway lived and worked for the well being of his family. He is survived by his four sons; Gerald, Howard, David, and Ddarell, and his daughter Bonnie Gairns; two sisters, Bertha Kvasnikoff and Myrtle Campbell; his brother Einar Larson and his loving grandchildren who were so close to him; Gina Spradling, Caroline Gairns, Brian Larson, Julie Reichard, and Loic Sachs as well as great grandson Patrick Spradling. He will also be missed by his close and dear friend Hazel Motland. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, June 11, 1994 at 11:00 a.m. with Visitation Thursday and Friday from 10:00 - 5:00 at Yarington's Funeral Home, Seattle.

She was born Helen Irene Johnston on April 6, 1911, in Duluth, Minn. She married Leonard W. Larson on Feb. 24, 1940 and the couple moved to Bellingham in 1958. A member of Our Saviour's Luther Church, Mrs. Larson was active in the Alter Circle and in American Lutheran Church Woman. She also was a charter member of Our Redeemer Church in Seattle. Survivors include her husband of the family home; a son Dwight Larson of Gig Harbor; a daughter Lois Wallin of Rochester; and numerous cousins.

He was born on March 8, 1905 to Emil and Martha in Warren, Minnesota. Herbert left school in the 11th grade to help support the family and worked in saw mills in the county. He attended barber school in Seattle along with his wife of 73 years, Lena, who attended beauty school. Upon his completion of school, Herbert and his brother opened a barber shop in Ferndale, where he worked for over 50 years. During the second world war, he served in the U.S. Marine Corp at Bainbridge Island. Herbert had many friends and enjoyed fishing, golfing, and trips to California for the winter. He was preceded in death by his wife Lena in December 2001. Herbert is survived by numerous nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held on Monday, June 24, 2002 at 1:00 p.m. at Greenacres|Moles Cemetery, with Reverend Al Currier officiating.

LARSON, Howard, 62 a forme Bellingham resident who became a spacecraft engineer, died earlier this month (Aug. 5, 1991) at his Saratoga, Calif., home after a long battle with cancer. A memorial service was held Saturday in California. No local services are planned. Mr. Larson was born Aug. 31, 1928, in Bellingham to Arthur and Eva Larson. He graduated from Bellingham High school in 1946, and attended Western Washington University for two years. He graduated from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1951. He married Pat Hickey in 1957 in Cupertino, Calif. Mr. Larson worked for NASA/Ames Research Center, doing testing for the space shuttle program. After the space shuttle Challenger exploded in January 1986, Mr. Larson was appointed as a trouble-shooter to find out why its O rings failed. In 1980, he learned he had throat cancer. His Larynx, tongue and port of his lower jaw were removed to save his life, but he continued to work and became one of the first people to use a computer keyboard with a speech synthesizer that would speak the words he typed into it. In 1982, he was named the U. S. government's Federal Handicapped Employee of the Year. By the mid 80s, he often joked to colleagues and family that he was no longer disabled, so he couldn't retire. He also lived trout fishing with his family, which he continued to do after his surgery. In March of 1990, Mr. Larson retired after surgeons found cancer in his lungs and removed part of a lung. He died Aug. 5, (1991) at his home. Survivors include his wife, of Saratoga; his sons Ken Larson of Lewiston, Idaho, Kevin Larson of Santa Cruz, Calif., and Craig Larson of San Diego, Calif; his sister, Barbara Porter of Lopez Island; his aunt an uncle Kenneth Lindstrom and Margaret Couchman, both of Bellingham; one granddaughter, one aunt; and nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Mr. Larson had been a resident of this community for the past forty-three years and was a retired boom foreman, formerly with the Larson Mill. Deceased was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose and the Order of Vasa and leaves to survive his widow, Johanna, at home; one son, Victor A., of Bellingham; two brothers, Hjalmar, of Bellingham, and David, of Seattle; also three brothers and two sisters in Sweden. LARSON, Jean passed away January 31st, 2006. She was born February 25th in Lynden, Washington. Jean grew up in Lynden and graduated from Mt. Baker High School. Jean had a love for horses and worked on the family farm. She was broker and owner of Cloverleaf Realty in Ferndale with her husband Herb. She was a member of the Bellingham Yacht Club and Whatcom County Realtors for many years. She had a love for Sun Mountain and the Hawaiian Islands and traveled there many times with her family. Jean was preceded in death by her husband Herb Larson, parents John and Effie Kroontje, brother Milton Kroontje, sister Dorothy Boerhave, granddaughter Lorri Larson and infant grandson. Jean is survived by her son Gary August Larson; granddaughters Leanne Steinbach (Jerry), Lana Sund (Lenny), Lesley Deubler (Deryck), seven great-grandchildren, sister Millie Washburn (Louie), sister Audrey Cyr, broth John "Buzz" Kroontje (Hilda) and numerous nieces and nephews. A Graveside Service will be at Enterprise Cemetery on Monday, February 6, 2006, at 2 p.m. with Rev. Bob Johnson officiating.

Larson died Wednesday (Nov. 15, 1989) at her Mount Vernon home after an extended illness. She was 78. At her request, no services will be held. Born Dec. 20, 1910, to Mr. and Mrs. John Daniels, she moved to Bellingham in 1925 and graduated three years later from Fairhaven High school. She married Kenneth A. Larson on June 1, 1931, in Bellingham. In 1940, she moved to Los Gatos, Calif, where she owned and operated Plaza Studio of Beauty. Mrs. Larson retired in 1978 and moved to Mount Vernon in 1979. She was an avid bridge player. Surviving are her husband, of the family home, and several nieces, nephews and in-laws. Arrangements are by Hulbush Funeral Home, in Burlington.
LARSON, Joanne Marie - Former Alaskan Joanne Marie Larson, 58, of Salem, Ore., died May 13, 1990. A service was held at the Rigdon-Ransom Colonial Chapel in Salem. Mrs. Larson was born Feb. 16, 1932, in Lynden. She married Lawrence A. Larson Feb. 14, 1953, in Washington. She and her husband lived in Anchorage for seven years before moving to Salem in 1988. Mrs. Larson enjoyed working with children. Family members say she helped raise many children in Salem and Alaska. She was a volunteer driver for Senior Townhouse Meals on Wheels and enjoyed traveling and gardening. Mrs. Larson is survived by her husband Larry of Salem; her sons, Lawrence Jr. of Bellevue, and Eric, of Salem; her twin brother John Bremer of Spokane, her brother Edward of Medical Lake, her sisters, Lois Sutton of Spokane, Edith Kinsey of Longview and Elizabeth Bremer of Bellingham; and four grandchildren.

Mrs. Larson was a homemaker. She enjoyed gardening, macrame, and leather work. She attended First Baptist Church in Lynden and was a member of the First Reformed Church. She did volunteer work at Christian Rest Home in Lynden. Survivors include four sons, Bud Bosman and Dan Bosman, both of Bellingham, Donald Bosman of Madison, Wis., and Dennis Bosman of Burien; her daughter Wilma Huber of Bellevue; stepsons Ken Larson of Kirkland, Don Larson of Houston, Texas, and Larry Larson of Mount Vernon; stepdaughter Carol Kendrick of Seattle; her sister, Elizabeth Dornbush of Pollock, S.D.; her brother, John Bernard TeBeest of Bismark, N.D.; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and numerous step-grandchildren. LARSON, Karen Emelie (Amelia), age 75, of 3214 34th Ave. S., Seattle, passed away at her home, Tuesday, mar. 13, following a lingering illness. Mrs. Larson had been a resident of Whatcom County since 1920. She moved to the home of her daughter in Seattle four years ago. She was a member of the Lutheran Free Church of Ferndale. Surviving relatives include two daughters, Mrs. Ethel Follett, of Seattle, and Mrs. Myrtle Lloyd, of Alderwood Manor; a son, Marvin, and a brother, Charles Selmer, both of Bellingham and seven grandchildren. Services will be conducted Friday, March 16, at 2 p.m. within the Chapel of the Monroe Mortuary in Ferndale with Rev. Robert M. Christiansen officiating. Interment in Enterprise Cemetery.
LARSON, Karl G., age 87 of 3010 Plymouth Dr. passed away in a local hospital, Fri. No. 10, (1978). A long time B'ham resident. He was a retired Pile driver operator. Surviving are his sister--in-law, Nellie Tompkins of Tacoma, several relatives in Sweden, and numerous friends. Funeral will be held Tues., Nov. 14, 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Veroske-Jerns.
LARSON, Katherine A., age 75 years, passed away at a local hospital Thursday, August 8, (1946). Mrs. Larson came to Bellingham in 1890 where she resided until 1914. The late William B. Larson, her husband, operated the Larson Livery & Transfer Company, they then moved to Ten Mile district and engaged in farming, four years ago she moved to Goshen. She was a charter member of the Whatcom County Dairymen's Association. Her survivors include two sons, Arthur G. Larson, Bellingham, Irving J. Larson, Laldysmith, B.C.; two daughters, Mrs. Walter F. Foster, Seattle, Mrs. Alvin Megard, Sedro-Woolley, Wash.; one sister, Mrs. Minerva McCullough, Washington, D. C.; sixteen grandchildren; one great-grandchild, and numerous nephews and nieces. The remains rest at the funeral home of Harlow-Hollingsworth where services will be conducted by Mr. John Hunt, Saturday, August 10, at 1:30 p.m. Final resting place, Bay View Cemetery.
LARSON, Katherine A., age 97, of 1509 E. Victor, Bellingham passed away, October 13, 1989. She was born March 3, 1892 in Bellingham and had been a Whatcom County resident for the past 94 years. She was preceded in death by her husband George E. Larson in Sept. 1958 and her son Richard Larson in March 1961. Burial preceded in Monumenta Cemetery at 10:15 a.m. Kent, who died at his home on Wednesday, Feb. 27, (1985) was born in California and had been a Lynden resident for the past few years. He had attended the Third Christian Reformed Church and was a student of Whatcom Community College. He had avid interests in golf, graphic arts, fishing and hiking. He is survived by his father, Don Larson of Houston, Texas; his mother, Mrs. Nancy and husband Jim Collier, also of Houston; a grandmother, Julia Stuurmans of Lynden; grandfather, Milton Larson of Lynden; two great-grandmothers, Nancy Vander Mey and Alice Stuurmans, both of Lynden, uncles, Stan Stuurmans and wife Adie of Lynden, Cecil Stuurmans and wife Kaye of Coupeville, Larry Larson and wife Cath of Mt. Vernon, and Ken Larson and wife Sandy of Kirkland, aunts, Mrs. Leslie and husband John DeJong of Lynden and Mrs. Carol and husband William Kendrick of Salem, Ore; and numerous other relatives. He was born October 8, 1930 in Ferndale to Wilfred and Nellie Larson. Mr. Larson was a kind, doting and generous husband, father and grandfather who loved working around his pond and woods. He worked at B.P. Oil Corp. He had served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict between 1949 and 1952. He is survived by his loving wife, Marilyn of Bellingham, beloved daughters, Laurie and husband Jim McClintock of Everson, Shelli Cocker of Bellingham, grandsons, Jason and Jeffrey and granddaughter Christina. Also surviving are brothers, Jack and Helen Larson of Bremerton, Eugene and Betty Larson and Wayne and Jana Larson of Ferndale, and by numerous other relatives and friends who will miss him very much. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Richard. A graveside service will be held Tuesday, Aug. 11,1:00 p.m. at Bayview Cemetery with Pastor Joel Lohafer officiating. LARSON, LaVerene E. (Bud) of 221 Highland Dr. passed away Wed., Feb. 9, (1977). A resident of Bellingham since 1948, he had been employed by Standard Oil Co. for 35 years prior to retirement. He was a member of the Ferndale Masonic Lodge and the BPOE No. 194 and served with the United States Air Force in WWII. Surviving are his wife, Irene (Renee) at home; a sister, Luella Nelson and a niece, Linda Darlene Nelson, both of Seattle; also several cousins. LARSON, Lawrence R., 69, of Spokane died April 8, 1992 in Spokane. He was born and raided in Everson and graduated from Nooksack Valley High School. He farmed in the Everson area and worked for the Darigold plant in Lynden. He then became a retail supervisor for Arden Dairy Farms near Moscow, Idaho and Clarkston for 10 years. He moved to Glendive, Mont. and worked for Fuller Brush Co. in sales. In 1966 he moved to Spokane and was the district sales manager for Fuller Brush Co. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Joyce Larson at home; a son, Michael Larson of Spokane; a daughter, Michelle Gemmill of Deer Lake; a brother, Philip Larson of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho; a sister, Lois Blythe of Granite Falls; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Services were held Saturday at Ball & Dodd Funeral Home North in Spokane.

Hamilton Post No. 7, American Legion. LARSON, Leonard W. Jan. 19, 1910 - May 24, 1994. Leonard W. Larson, 84, passed away Tuesday, May 24, at St. Peter's Hospital, Olympia, WA. Born and raised on Bainbridge Island, Leonard had lived in Bellingham for over 30 years. From 1958 until his retirement in 1975 he was area Sales representative for the Great Northern and later the Burlington Northern Railroad. His greatest joy was in music, and as a member of Our Saviour's Lutheran Church in Bellingham, he fulfilled a musical ministry as Organist for 31 years. He spent over 65 years as a church organist from his boyhood on Bainbridge Island until ill health in 1989 left him unable to play as he liked. In addition to his music, Leonard was active in Rotary and always enjoyed his golf game. He was preceded in death by Helen, his wife of 49 years, and by his daughter, Lois. Surviving him are his son and daughter-in-law, Dwight and Diane Larson of Gig Harbor, numerous cousins in Sweden, and former son-in-law, Dewaine Wallin of Rochester, WA who with his wife, Nancy, provided living care for Leonard after hi stroke in 1993. Graveside services will be held at Greenacres Memorial Park on May 27th at 12 noon with a memorial service to follow at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church at 1 p.m. Arrangements by Westford Funeral Home.
LARSON, Leroy F. - A memorial service for Leroy F. Larson of Bellingham will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Living Water Fellowship, with the Rev. Ronald Davis officiating. Mr. Larson died Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2000, in Bellingham. He was 63. Born July 25, 1937, to Dan and Ruth (McEwen) Larson in Bellingham, he was a lifetime Whatcom County resident. Mr. Larson graduated from Bellingham High School. Mr. Larson worked as a machinist for many years. On Jan. 14, 1974, he married Audrey in Stanwood. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. LARSON, Louis Anthony, 90, died Nov. 24, 1990 in Seattle following brief debility with lymphoma. Seattle had been his home for the past 70 years. He shared his life with his beloved and caring wife, Clara Erlendson Larson. He was born in Walla Walla on April 18, 1900, the second of eight children of his Lynden blacksmith father, Louis Clarence Larson, and grandchild to of his Norwegian grandfather, Anthony Tobias Larson. With his parents, young Louis moved to Lynden, where he spent his formative years prior to a half-decade at sea as a third mate/radioman on the last of the square rigged sailing ships. He graduated from the University of Washington in electrical engineering and worked for over 50 years in electrical power transmission. He is survived by his sisters, Mrs. Evelyn Kemphaus of Ferndale and Mrs. Helen Simonds of Portland, Ore.; his brother, Burton Larson of Lynden; his daughter, Mary Jacobs of Friday Harbor; and his sons, Willard Larson of Everett and Calvin Larson of Pasadena, Calif. Interment at Washelli Cemetery was Friday, directed by the Green Lake Funeral Home of Seattle.

LARSON, Mae J. of Lynden, WA, passed away on Friday September 19, 1997, in Lynden. She was 90. Mrs. Larson was born October 18, 1906 to Rome and Jessie (Carpenter) Hartman, and had been a county resident since 1908. She enjoyed square dancing, bridge and ceramics. She was also an accomplished cake decorator. She was a member of Maple Leaf Chapter #58, O.E.S. Her husband Oliver T. Larson preceded her in death in 1974. Survivors include: daughter Elmerine and husband Jack Strickland of Bellingham; brother Ray Hartman and wife Mabel of Sumner; 2 grandchildren, Terri Sirmans of Bellingham, Patti Marshall and husband Graham of Brisbane, Australia; 4 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; and 1 nephew. LARSON, Margaret -A memorial service for Margaret Ellen Norr Larson will be held May 30, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, 2000 Country Club Road in Lake Oswego, OR. Margaret Larson was born on May 30, 1914 in Cambridge, Minnesota. Several years later, her father, Carl Robert, moved the family, cattle and equipment by rail to Pierz, Minnesota where they established an award winning dairy farm. Margaret, her three sisters and six brothers grew up in a place where children often literally walked miles in the snow to get to school. Margaret helped in the fields and with the milking, and was proud of her ability to master this work before the arrival of powered farming equipment. In 1930, Margaret moved to Evanston, Ill. where she met and married Thure Larson. In 1959, Margaret and Thure moved to Bellingham Washington, where they became active members of Northwestern Baptist Church. Margaret served in many capacities, including wedding coordinator, banquet coordinator and jr. high youth leader, and she worked at JCPenney's in downtown Bellingham. She moved to Lake Oswego, OR in 1983, where she attended Mountain Park Church and Our Savior's Lutheran Church. She served as the chairperson of the annual bazaar held at the Lake Oswego Adult Center. Margaret went to heaven May 20, 2003 at age 88. Margaret spent her entire life volunteering and helping others. Her baked goods were delicious and impeccable and she had a gift for making those around her feel special. Some of her talents included cake decorating, toll painting, oil painting, rosmal painting, pen and ink, knitting and sewing. Survivors include brothers and sisters: Dorothy, Agnes, Theodore, Harvey, Richard, Alvie, and Donald; daughters, Janice DeHart and Virginia McDonald grandchildren, Terry DeHart, Thomas DeHart, Tamera Turner, Aimee Apt, and Julie Shaw and six great-grandchildren.

She was born July 28, 1923, on her family's farm and apple orchard near Wenatchee, where she spent her childhood. She was the daughter of Frank and Dora Nelson. She learned to play the piano as a child by watching her mother, and used to say she had learned to do housework the same way. After graduating from Wenatchee High School in 1941, she went to Seattle and worked in the accounting department of what is now Pacific Northwest Bell Telephone Co. She married Glen Larson of Seattle in March 1947 after meeting him in a small Methodist Church in downtown Seattle. They came to Bellingham in 1950, when Glenn Larson began working in the newsroom at The Bellingham Herald. She was active in the Bellingham Covenant Church, where she was organist for a number of years and served on the church's Worship Ministry. She also devoted time to the YWCA, where she helped organize activity groups in the 1950s. More recently, she was a volunteer worker at the Y's Buys Shop. She was a member of Maple Leaf Chapter 58, Order of the Eastern Star, and Birchwood Garden Club, and was a life member of the Bellingham Theatre Guild. Besides playing piano, she drew enjoyment from mathematics, and worked problems for relaxation. Survivors include her husband of the family home; two daughters, Janice Lintner of Portland, Ore., and Doris Medlicott of Bellevue; a son, Donald Larson of Pasadena, Calif.; a sister, Nadine Orcutt of Boise, Idaho; two granddaughters; and several nieces and nephews. Two brothers died earlier. A memorial service will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Bellingham Covenant Church, with the Rev. Kenneth Larson officiating. The service will be preceded by family burial service at Greenacres Memorial Park. Arrangements are by Westford Funeral Home.

LARSON, Marvin Lars, 84, of Bellingham, died Friday (Dec. 16, 1994) in Bellingham. He was born April 21, 1910 in Revheim, Norway to Lars Martinius and Amelia Swenson Larson. He came to the U.S. in 1912 and lived in North Dakota until he was 10 years old. In 1920 he and his mother, brother and 2 sisters came to Washington. They lived on Aldergrove Road and Marvin attended Aldergrove School. He retired from Georgia-Pacific in Bellingham after working 34 years as a mechanic. he is survived by his wife, Muriel L. Larson, whom he married November 2, 1935 in Bellingham. Other family members include two daughters, Maralee A. and husband Douglas G. Smith of Bellingham and Jean A. and husband Richard Wingron of St. Louis MO; two sisters, Mrs. Ethel Follett of Seattle and Mrs. Myrtle Lloyd of Everett; six granddaughters, two great-granddaughters, one great-grandson and many other relatives. "Mo" 57, 3026 Hemlock Way, Sedro Woolley, died last Thursday, (Dec. 10, 1981) in Bellingham following a long illness. He was born Oct. 3, 1914, in Seattle. He was married Sept. 16, 1939, in Seattle and moved to the Bellingham area in 1972. Before his illness, he had been employed as a caretaker for the Glenhaven community. For the past seven years he served as Master of the Silver Run Grange in Alger. He is survived by his wife, Delite, a son two daughters and five grandchildren. Memorial services were held Tuesday at the Glenhaven Community Club, Marvin Jordon and Carl Lindstrom officiating.
LARSON, Mary, age 82, of Blaine, passed away Monday, July 7, (1947) in a Bellingham hospital following a lingering illness. She had been a pioneer of Blaine, residing there for the past sixty-one years. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Cora Bond, Mrs. Mattie Levien; one son, P. M. Larson, all of Blaine. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, July 9, at 2 p.m. from the McKinney Funeral Home in Blaine, with Rev. E. P. Thomas officiating.

She is survived by her husband, Grant Larson; 2 sons, Conald VanVoorst and Ken Larson; a daughter, Anna Mae Powell; a brother, Frank Ruzicka; a sister Ann Bruce; 8 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. LARSON, Mary E., age 78 years, 2901 Orleans Street, passed away at a local hospital Friday, April 11, (1947) following a lingering illness. Mrs. Larson had been a resident of Bellingham for the past twenty years and leaves to survive, her husband, Mr. Frank G. Larson; two daughters, Mrs. Carl Bergdal and Mrs. Earl Knott, both of Bellingham; one son, Edward e. Craig, Berkeley, Calif.; a sister and brother in the East; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, also numerous nieces and nephews in Vancouver, B.C. The remains are resting at the Bingham-Dahlquist Funeral Home where funeral services will be conducted Monday, April 14 at 2 p.m. with James Martyn Wilson, officiating. LARSON, Matilda E., age 68 years, 2820 Orleans Street, passed away at a local hospital, Saturday, November 6, (1948) following a lingering illness. Mrs. Larson had been a resident of Bellingham for the past thirty-three years and was a member of the Free Methodist Church. Surviving relatives include one daughter, Mrs. Anna Lowland and one son, Hawley Larson, both of Bellingham; one grandson and two step-grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. LARSON, Milton, was born in Detroit Lakes, MN, March 5, 1903. He passed away April 24, 2005 in Bellingham at the age of 102, after a short illness. Milton moved with his family to Lynden to a 20-acre farm on 'H' Street Road where his father purchased the one time Delta post office for their home. He graduated from Delta Grade School with an eighth-grade education and helped his mother Selma run the family farm after his father Ole's health failed.
Milton was a carpenter and also made trips to Wenatchee for several seasons to pick apples before he went to work for the now defunct Farmers Mutual Telephone Company in Lynden. He met his future wife, Gladys Halverson, at Birch Bay. They married in 1932 and moved to a house that he built on 5 corner acres of his family's farm. Milton and Gladys raised one daughter and three sons until Gladys passed away in 1974. In the mid-1970's, he married a long time friend to the family and neighbor Johanna Bosman and cared for her through her illness until her death. Milton saw many changes through his 35 year career with the telephone company. He started as an installer/repairman back when homes shared party lines with neighbors. He helped introduce the first mobile telephone to Whatcom County. Milton ended up becoming general manager of this independent telephone company and later witnessed it sold by stockholders to Chicago-based Telephones, Inc. He oversaw local communication services and support for President Johnson's historic visit and treaty signing with the Prime Minister of Canada at Peace Arch Park in Blaine in the mid-1960's. Milton eventually invited Continental Telephone Co. to come out to Washington and take a look at their company. They shortly after purchased the company. It's name was shortened to Contel and is now owned today by Verizon. After Milton's retirement he built a small cabinet making business for homes and offices throughout Whatcom County. He later focused his passion for wood craftsmanship by making Grandfather clocks. He sold them out of his home and to retail shops as far away as La Conner. As his activities slowed he switched to simple clock repair until his hands could no longer handle the delicate work. Milton was a charter member of the Lynden Kiwanis Club and long time Secretary/Treasurer for the Valley View Water Association which he helped establish. He was a lifetime member of the First Baptist Church of Lynden and lived his entire life in the home that he had built. During his last days he was cared for in his home by a caring nursing staff and immediate family. Milton is survived by his daughter Carol Kendrick and her husband Bill of Alderbrook, WA and sons Ken Larson and his wife Sandra of Redmond, WA, Don Larson and his wife Peggy of Houston, TX and Larry Larson of Mount Vernon, WA. He is also survived by five grandchildren Julie, Jeff, Jay, Jill and Holly and eight great-grandchildren. One grandchild Kent Larson unexpectedly passed away many years before him.
Graveside services will be held Friday, April 29th at Greenacres Memorial Cemetery at 10 a.m. with memorial services following at 11:30 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Lynden. LARSON, Nancy Joan Seholm, age 63, of Burlington, WA, passed away June 20, 2006, in Mount Vernon, WA. Nancy was born July 24, 1942, to Eddie and Maxine Heidman, in Bellingham, and lived in Whatcom County until 1989 when she moved to Burlington. She enjoyed traveling, gardening, reading, and was a big Mariners fan. She worked as a cook for the Burlington-Edison School District for many years, and was a beautician. Nancy is survived by her husband, Jim Larson, and his children; her children, Rose Marie Seholm and husband, Tarry Lingbloom of Bellingham, Brian and Christine Seholm, Dean and Sherry Seholm of Ferndale, Brad and Regina Seholm of Tacoma, and Mark Seholm and his girlfriend, Sarah Galbreath of Sedro-Woolley; and 11 grandchildren. She was born on May 1, 1907 in Florence, S.D. to Susie and Mason Holtz. She was a Whatcom County resident for 80 years, Mrs. Larson moved from South Dakota in the early teens and resided in and around Haynie and Blaine, moving to Neptune Beach area in the early 1920's. She spent her remaining life around Ferndale. She was active in the early labor organization of union for her trade as a cook and waitress in the Bellingham/Ferndale area. She also worked at the Bellingham Furniture factory during WWII. Mrs. Larson was a very hard worker all her life and loved flowers, gardening and the beauty of nature. Mrs. Larson was preceded in death by her son Richard Larson July 4, 1985, by George Menze on June 4, 1983 and Wilfred W. Larson on June 5, 1971. Survivors are four sons, Wilfred Larson of Silverdale, WA. Eugene Larson and Wayne L. Larson of Ferndale and Larry L. Larson of Bellingham; 12 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; two sisters, Donna, Donna Yarnell of Ketchican, AK. and Anita Boerner of Burlington; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. Richard "Dick" Larson, a decorated veteran of the Vietnam War who died July 4, 1985. LARSON, Richard Mason, Lieutenant Commander, was born on 14 May 1941 in Bellingham, Wash. He attended Everett Junior College. He was commissioned as an Ensign on 2 September 1966 and was designated a Naval Aviator on - December 1987. He reported HA(L)-3 in January 1968, where he accumulated over 500 combat hours in 15 months of service in the Mekong delta. Subsequent duty assignments were HS-6, HS-10, HS-4, COMASWWINGPAC Staff, HS-8 and HC-1 He reported of HC-1 on 20 October 1981 where he was Maintenance Officer, NATOPS Officer, Training Officer and designated a Helicopter Aircraft Commander in the SH-3 aircraft. He was instrumental in the introduction of the West Coast of the CH-53E at HC-1, He had logged over 5500 aircraft flight hours. LCDR Larson has been awarded over 50 personal awards, a number of letters of appreciation and seven unit awards. Among his awrds were the Distinguished Flying cross, 30 Air medals, Navy Commendation Medal (with Combat "V"), Navy Achievement Medal, Combat Action Ribbon, Vietnam Service Medal and Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry. Additionally, LCDR Larson was honored as the "San Diego Navy Man of the Year" for 1983 by the Chamber of Commerce's Captain Batchelder Award. LCDR Larson died when struck by a car while jogging on 4 Jul 1985. LCDR Larson is survived by his wife, Patricia J. and their three children, Garrick, Jerri, and Kelli, of Poway, Calif. He is also survived by his mother, Nellie I. Menze of Ferndale, Wash. and brothers, Wayne and Eugene of Ferndale, Larry of Bellingham, and Jack of Silverdale, Wash.

LARSON, Robert P. - Retired truck driver Robert P. Larson, 74, of 2528 Grandview Road, Ferndale, died Thursday (March 31, 1988) in his home. He was born Dec. 15, 1913 in Ferndale, where he lived all his life. He was a driver for Milky Way Inc. of Lynden for seven years, and was a member of Teamsters Local 231, Bellingham. Survivors include a sister, Beatrice DeCaprio of Seattle, and two cousins, Clifford and Ray Larson of Ferndale. LARSON, Sarah C., 64, a former Bellingham resident, died Sunday at her home in Tacoma. Mrs. Larson was born in Anacortes on June 26, 1920, and was raised in Bellingham. Her maiden name was Miller. She moved to Tacoma in 1945. A University of Washington graduate, she was a member of Delta Delta Delta sorority, and also was a member of St. Matthew's Episcopal Church in Tacoma. Survivors include her husband, William C. Larson; a son; a daughter; two granddaughters; a sister and a brother. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in St. Matthew's Episcopal Church, Tacoma.

Johnson of Tacoma; three sisters, Mrs. Mary Peterson of Detroit Lake, Minn., Mrs. Alma Heimark of St. Mary's Ida., Mrs. Sophie Larson of Lynden; five grandchildren, two great grandchildren. LARSON, Shirley Lee, 63, of Ferndale died May 5, 1992 in Bellingham. She was born Jan. 14, 1929 in Bellingham, a daughter of Opal (Burrows) and Karl A. Steltz Sr. and a granddaughter of one of Whatcom County's road builders. She married Fred Lawson on Aug. 15, 1947 in Bellingham. With her husband and daughters, she designed, built and decorated her own home on Sound View Farm, west of Ferndale. Using her skills as a seamstress and crafter, she created many dance and holiday costumes, including family entries in the Ferndale Pioneer Picnic parades. She was employed as a bookkeeper/office manager for many Whatcom County health businesses over the years, including several doctors in Ferndale, Planned Parenthood of Whatcom County and most recently at Northwest Physical Therapy. She is survived by her husband, Fred L. Larson; her father, Karl Steltz Sr.; a brother, Karl A. LARSON, Sophia Elizabeth, age 87 who resided in Oakland, Calif., passed away in that city Thursday, Sept. 1, (1960) following an extended illness. Mrs. Larson had lived in Oakland for the past 39 years and was a former resident of Bellingham. She was a member of the First Lutheran Church of Bellingham, former member of the Rebekah Lodge No. 43, active member of the Veteran Rebekah Lodge of Oakland. She leaves to survive 1 son Edaun, her daughter Miss Ruth Larson, 1 granddaughter, Helen Larson, all residing in Oakland. The remains will lie in state in the Chapel of Bingham & Jerns Funeral Home from Wednesday evening Sept. 7 until Thursday Sept. 8 when services will be held in Bayview Abby at 1 o'clock with Rev. E. E. Olsenius officiating.
LARSON, Sophie, age 76 of Rt. 1, Lynden passed away suddenly at her home Sunday, Dec. 11, (1960). Mrs. Larson had been a resident of the Lynden area since 1933 and was a member of the Sunrise Baptist Church. Survivors include two sons, Howard L. Larson of Cleveland, Ohio, and Justus A. Larson of Rochester, New York; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Peterson of Detroit Lakes, Minn., and Mrs. Alma Heimark of St. Mary's Idaho; one brother, P. O. Johnson of Tacoma. Also eight grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held in the Gillies Funeral Home in Lynden, Wednesday, Dec. 14, at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Calvin Churchill officiating. Burial will follow in the Lynden Cemetery.
LARSON, Theodore Russell, age 21 of 1779 Bakerview Road passed away suddenly early Sunday, June 27 at Chilliwack, B.C., as a result of an accident. Mr. Larson was a machinist by trade and a member of the Lutheran Church and member of the Bellingham U.S. Naval Reserve Unit. He is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Louis F. Larson, one brother Robert, one sister Jean, all of the home, maternal grandmother, Mrs. Maude Coady of Cathedral City, Calif; paternal grandmother, Mrs. Tillie McCorkhill of Seattle; many other relatives. He was a member of the community for the past 20 years, he was an active member of the Northwest Baptist Church and was a member of NALC and a member of the NAARFE. He was a mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service and retired in 1975. He is survived by his wife Margaret; 2 daughters, Janice DeHart of Portland and Virginia Apt of Lake Oswego, Oregon; 5 grandchildren, Terry DeHart of the U.S. Marines, Aimee and Julie Apt of Lake Oswego, Oregon and Tom and Tammy DeHart of Portland; 1 brother, Harry and wife Dorothy Larson of Northlake, Illinois; 1 sister, Elsie and husband Hilding Carlson of Evanton (sic), Illinois; and numerous nieces and nephews. LARSON, Vera B. - Oak Harbor resident Vera B. Larson, 88, died Sunday, Sept. 6, 1992, at Whidbey General Hospital in Coupeville. Graveside services were held today at 10 a.m. at Bayview Cemetery, with the rev. David Lura officiating. A memorial service was scheduled for 2 p.m. today at First United Methodist Church of Oak Harbor. Born May 24, 1904, in Onton, Ky., to William and ethel ashby, she graduated from Onton High school and attended college in Kentucky for one year. As a school teacher, she taught for two years in Slaughters, Ky. She then moved to Detroit, where she worked in banking and later as a secretary and bookkeeper at General Motors Corp. for 12 years. She moved to Bellingham where she met Bud Larson. They married in Centralia in 1938. Mrs. Larson worked in Bellingham dress shop for six years before they moved to Oak Harbor in 1943. She worked there at Ships Service at NAS Whidbey for about five years. The Larsons then moved to Portland whee she worked with Meier and Frank Co. before the family returned to Oak Harbor. Mrs. Larson was preceded in death by her husband, who died in 1985. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Oak Harbor since 1943, and was a member of United Methodist Women and the Eleanor Warne Circle of the Methodist Church of Oak Harbor. Survivors include sister Olan Jackson of Florence, Ala.; niece Carlyle Kyzar of Aspen, Colo.; and numerous other nieces, nephews and cousins. Arrangements are by Burley Funeral Chapel of Oak Harbor.
LARSON, Vera Faye passed with her family by her side at her home in Bellingham on January 26, 2008, after a short battle with cancer. Born to Ralph and Ruby Bellingar in Bellingham on March 15, 1926, Vera grew up with her brother and sister on the family farm in the Laurel area. Vera graduated from Meridian High School in 1942, at the age of sixteen. She went on to graduate from Success Business School, after which she went to work as an accountant for Eiford Company and later for Construction Supply Company, retiring from there in 1989. On Christmas day in 1944, Vera married the love of her life, Walter Larson, whom she met at a barn dance on her family's farm when she was nine. They built their home on Lake Whatcom where they raised their daughter Darleen. Vera was very active in the Bellingham Emblem Club at the Elks Lodge and the Senior Center Tap Dance Group. She enjoyed performing at the elder care facilities in Whatcom County. She was preceded in death by her husband Walter J. Larson in 1995 and by her parents, Ralph and Ruby Bellingar. Vera is survived by her daughter Darleen and husband Junior Stacey; grandchildren: Christopher and wife Amy of Milton; Darrell and wife Tami; great-grandchildren: Megan and Nikolas of Everson; brothers-in-law: Doug and wife Jeanette Larson of Everett, Robert and wife Jean Larson of Ferndale; sister-in-law Donna Larson of Bellingham; and numerous nieces and nephews and cousins. Gaga, we will love and miss you forever. You will always in in our hearts and be an influence in our lives forever. Please join Vera's family and friends in a celebration of her life here on earth on Saturday, February 2nd, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the Elks Lodge #194 in Bellingham. As you know, she is now enjoying the first dance of eternity with Walt as her dance partner for now and forever.

Born April 18, 1922 in Bellingham and raised in the Ferndale community, he was a graduate of Ferndale High School in 1940, a veteran of World War II. Vern retired from the U.S. Airforce as Master Sergeant following 21 years of service. For a few years he was a Whatcom County Deputy Sheriff working as a jailer following which he became a service director for the State Disabled Veterans and was instrumental in opening the Veterans Service Office in Bellingham and served until 1977. He was a member of the Triumph Lutheran Church of Ferndale, a life member of the D.A.V. Chapter 19 of Bellingham, Kulshan Post No. 154 American Legion NCOA Mt. Baker Chapter, Retired sergeants Assoc. and Ferndale Senior Center. He worked as salesman for Valley West Realty of Concrete, WA for 2 years. Surviving are his wife, Lois of the family home; 2 sons, Master Sergeant Roger Larson & wife Laura and Senior Master Sergeant Steve Larson & wife Cheryl, all of McChord Airforce base, Tacoma; 1 daughter, Nancy & husband Mike Thoennes of Kalispell, Montana; 2 sisters, Edith & husband Fred Ogmundson of Ferndale, Mattie & husband Gene Johnke of Ferndale; 9 grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews & other relatives. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Sharon Hill in 1979, brother, Carl Larson, father Carl W. Larson & mother Frances Larson. LARSON, Vern O. passed away Wednesday, January 18, 2006. He was 92. He was born in Astoria, Oregon, August 10, 1913, to Edna and Otto Larson of Oswego, Oregon. Vern commercial fished in his early years during the summers with his Dad on the Columbia River out of Altoona, Washington. He also spend one summer working on the Horse Seining grounds on the Columbia River and one summer with the Civilian Conservation Corps at Mr. Hood, Oregon. Vern was employed by Columbia River Packers, i.e. BumbleBee Seafoods, for 42 years, working at various salmon canneries in Oregon, Alaska, and Washington. He was promoted to plant superintendent for BumbleBee Seafoods Cannery in Bellingham, Washington in 1959, retiring in 1975. Vern was a life member in the Masonic Lodges in Astoria and Bellingham, member of the Scandinavian Benevolent Society, Columbia River Maritime Museum, and the Clatsop County Historical Society. Surviving Vern are Gloria, his wife of 48 years; sons Jon O. Larson of Bellingham, Wes Fahlstrom of Edmonds, WA; and Darryl and Terry Fahlstrom of Bellingham, WA; grandchildren Kjel and Kjirsten Larson of Blaine, WA; Kelly Fahlstrom Street of Kansas City, MO; and Brian Fahlstrom of Vista, CA; and nephew Mark Larson of Kent, WA. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, January 30, 2006, at Moles Family Funeral Home - Greenacres Chapel, 5700 Northwest Dr, Ferndale, WA. Interment will follow in Greenacres Memorial Park.

The daughter of Frank and Gertrude (Finch) Hills, Violet was born in Boxted, County Essex, England on November 14, 1913. She moved with her family to British Columbia, Canada where she graduated from High School and the Royal Columbian Hospital Nursing School. She married Donald Larson in Lynden on May 15, 1940. A Registered Nurse, Violet worked at St. Joseph's Hospital for many years, as well for several doctors' offices. Violet was a member of the St. Joseph's Hospital Central Auxiliary. She loved to knit and made dozens of baby outfits and other craft projects for the Auxiliary and for family members. She enjoyed traveling with her husband to visit her daughters when the lived in Florida, Hawaii, California, and Alaska. She also enjoyed visits with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was preceded by her husband Donald in 2000, two brothers and four sisters and is survived by her two daughters Ruth (Richard) Hunt of Bellingham and Judy (Michael) Murphy of Ferndale; four grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. The family would like to thank the staff at Lynden Christian Health Care Center for the tender loving care extended to our mother. A Celebration of Violet's Life will be held at Westford Funeral Home on Friday, August 19 at 10:30 a.m. Westford Funeral Home & Cremation Service.

LARSON, Walborg Marie, age 80 formerly of 2110 New St., passed away in a local hospital Wednesday, Feb. 11, (1959). Mrs. Larson had resided in Whatcom County for the past 58 years and was a member of the Central Lutheran Church. Survivors are two sons, Grant K., of Bellingham, and Lloyd M., in California; three daughters, Mrs. Frances Armstrong and Mrs. Louise Spees and Mrs. Lillian Torgeson, all of Bellingham; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; four brothers, Olaf and Arthur Gulbranson, both of Stanwood, Edgar Gulbranson of Oakland, Calif., and Ilet Gulbranson of Seattle; two sisters, Mrs. Lulla Hatvedt of Stanwood and Mrs. Johanna Bellman of Milwaukie, Ore.; numerous nieces and nephews. The remains rest at the Jones Funeral Home where services will be conducted by pastor Oscar A. Jacobson, Friday, Feb. 13, at 10 a.m. Final resting place Woodlawn Cemetery.

LARSON, Walter, born August 15, 1921 in Ferndale, WA to the parents of Fred and Tillie Larson, died suddenly Saturday, July 8, 1995, at the age of 73 at St. Joseph Hospital. Walter was a cement mason by trade, loved the outdoors, fishing and hunting, gardening, dancing, and art work of many kinds. He worked with metal and wood and did paper mache, donating the elk that stands in the new ferry terminal at Fairhaven. Walter was a perfectionist. Mr. Larson was a WWII Navy vet who served in the Pacific receiving two Philippine liberation medals as well as seven Asiatic Pacific campaign medals. Walter married Vera Bellingar on Dec. 25, 1944 in Bellingham. Surviving is his wife Vera for the family home 3243 North Shore Dr., Bellingham, a daughter Darleen and husband Junior Stacey of Bellingham; four brothers, Fred Larson of Ferndale, Leo Larson of Bellingham, Douglas Larson of Everson, Robert Larson of Bellingham; a sister Gloria Stabler of Lacey, Washington; and two grandchildren Darrell and Christopher Stacey of Bellingham. Walter was a life long area resident who graduated from Blaine High School, was a member of the American Legion, Eagles, Elks, V.F.W., and was a past member of the Cement Mason's Union. Visitation at Greenacres will be from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. followed by funeral services Wed. July 12, 1995 at Greenacres Funeral Home at 1:30 p.m. with interment following. Dehardt A. Erickson will officiate and the American Legion will provide full military honors. Refreshments following the service at the Bellingham Elks Lodge, 710 Samish Way, Bellingham. He was married to Charlotte Tollum in Bellingham on October 7, 1935; Mrs. Larson died in 1980. He is survived by a son, Walter L. Larson of Danville, California; two daughters, Mrs. Pat and husband Dennis Hoekstra of Lynden, and Mrs. Christine and husband Richard Hazell of Dayton, Ohio; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild; four brothers, Ray and Cecil of Tacoma, Paul of Vaughn, Montana, and Louie of Sumner; two sisters, Mrs. Verna Krey of Custer and Mrs. Mary Larson of Everett; a half-sister, Mrs. Hilda Tripp of Bellingham; and numerous brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.

LARSON, Weston B., age 41 years, passed away at a local hospital Monday, December 17, (1945). Mr. Larson had resided in this county his entire lifetime and was a farmer on Route 1, Everson. Deceased was a member of the Whatcom County Dairymen's Association and leaves the following survivors: his mother, Katherine A. Larson, Route 3, Bellingham; two sisters, Mrs. Paloma Megard and Mrs. Minerva Foster, Route 2, Ferndale; two brothers, Irving J. at Ladysmith, B.C., and Arthur G., Bellingham. LARSON, Wilfred - Funeral services for Wilfred Larson, 68, Thornton Road, Ferndale, were held Thursday afternoon in Moles Funeral Home. Burial followed in Enterprise Cemetery. Mr. Larson who died June 5, (1971) was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints. He is survived by five sons, Wayne of Ferndale, Richard of San Diego, Wilfred of Bremerton, Eugene of Ketchikan and Larry of Bellingham. Other survivors include four sisters, Mrs. Selma Donald and Mrs. Signe MacDonald, both of Bellingham and Mrs. Adina Bettis and Mrs. Agnes Petifo, both of Everett, and nine grandchildren.
LARSON, William C., 74, a lifelong Tacoma resident, died July 26, 1991. He was a member of Kappa Sigma and St. Matthews Episcopal Church. He was a graduate of the University of Washington and a self-employed CPA since 1945. Mr. Lawson is survived by son, Bruce Larson, Wilmington, Delaware; daughter Carol Young, LaMesa, CA; 3 grandchildren. LARSON, Wilma J. "Willie" of 3510 Riley St. died Friday, June 8, 1994, at her home. She was 64. Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Bayview Cemetery. Born Aug. 22, 1929, in Portland, Ore., she lived in Bellingham the past 60 years. She married Harry Larson on Sept. 4, 1959, in Bellingham. Mrs. Larson attended Garden Street United Methodist Church. She loved to crochet, making afghans for many friends. Survivors include her husband of the family home; uncle Fred Ringenbach of Bellingham; aunt Margie Haines of Seattle; and numerous cousins. LARSON-SCOTT, Mary - Family members mourned the loss of a Bellingham couple killed when a tree fell on their SUV, calling husband and wife "a bright light" who were devoted to each other and loved the outdoors. Mary Scott-Larson, 45, and Oliver "Bud" Larson, 69, died Sunday (May 22, 2005) on their way to meet friends and discuss an upcoming fishing trip. As they drove south down Lake Whatcom Boulevard, a tree suddenly snapped and fell on their 1998 Ford Explorer XLT, crushing the vehicle, the Washington State Patrol said. The couple's new puppy Mokie, a yellow Labrador retriever, also died. The Whatcom County Department of Public Works is responsible for cutting down "hazardous trees" along the roadway, but the department would not discuss the condition of the tree that fell or what normal procedures are for monitoring trees along the road. "Everything is still under investigation," said Clayton Silves, assistant superintendent of public works. Howard Scott, Mary's older brother, said he was shocked when he heard the news on Sunday. "I can tell you that Bud and Mary are going to be missed," he said. "They were beautiful folks. They treated each other so well." The couple met while working in maintenance at Western Washington University. The marriage, on March 9, 1992, was Bud's second and Mary's first. Julie Larson, 44, and Jon Larson, 46, Bud's children from his first marriage, described their father as a very patient and fair man. "He was a combination of the Dalai Lama and Bob Newhart," Julie said. "Everywhere he went, children and animals followed. Every pet we ever had was completely devoted and clung to our father." Bud, retired from WWU, was a former volunteer firefighter for Marietta and a former Marine who fought in the Korean War. "He woke me up every morning by opening the door and saying "Let's roll it! Let's roll it!" - that was his Marine way of waking us up," Julie said. Jon said his father taught him to appreciate the outdoors. "I have a lot of happy memories of us going out and fishing on the Nooksack or out on Bellingham Bay," Jon said. Mary Scott-Larson, one of 11 children, grew up on a farm in Marietta and graduated from Bellingham High School. Scott said she loved sports, especially softball. "She was my baby sister..a little blue-eyed pixie," Howard Scott said. Memorial services have not yet been announced.
