HANSON, Abraham, age 84, of 2600 Cedarwood Avenue, passed away in a local hospital, Saturday, June 10, (1950). Mr. Hanson was a member of the Birchwood Presbyterian Church, and had resided here for the past 20 years, having come here from Hatton, North Dakota, retired from banking. Surviving relatives are, the widow, Mrs. Minnie Hanson, of this city; two sons, Arthur G., of Minneapolis, Minn., and Dr. Chester A. Hanson, of Newcomerstown, Ohio; four daughters, Miss Christine Hanson, of Sharon, N.D., Mrs. Kenneth Minear, of Parsons, West Va., Mrs. L. A. Cusin, of Lynden, Wash., Mrs. A. G. Texley, in Western Germany with Col. A. G. Texley; one brother, Dr. G. C. Hanson, of Seattle; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. The remains are at the funeral home of Harlow-Hollingsworth where services will be conducted by the Rev. Everett O. Williams, Wednesday, June 14, at 3 p.m. Final resting place, Greenacres Memorial Park.

HANSON, Agnes E., age 51 years, beloved wife of Alfred H. Hanson, 300 N. Forest Street, passed away Thursday, March 22, (1945) following a brief illness. Mrs. Hanson had been a resident of Bellingham for the past 25 years and leaves to survive, beside her husband, a host of friends, her mother, Mrs. Mary Anderson; three sisters, Mrs. Hilda Voelz, Mrs. Esther Berendt and Mrs. Alice Johnson, all of Minneapolis, Minn.; three brothers, George and Roy Anderson, also of Minneapolis, and William Anderson, Glendale, Calif.; also numerous other relatives. The remains are resting at the Bingham-Dahlquist Funeral Home where funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, March 27, at 2:00 p.m with Rev. Ray S. Wagoner officiating. Interment, Bay View.

HANSON, Agnes Hazel, age 84 who resided at 5738 Sterling Avenue, Box 488, Ferndale, died August 9, 1980. Mrs. Hanson had been a resident of Whatcom County for 72 years, was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church of Ferndale, and belonged to St. Anne's Guild. She is the last survivor of 10 children of Alex and Mary DuVall. Survivors include her husband Albert M. Hanson of Ferndale; 2 daughters and sons-in-law, Lois and Francis Beach of Spokane; and Marydell and Robert Winters of Marysville; 7 grandchildren, Gary and Carl Beach of Spokane; Kelly, Dan, Joe and Steve Winters, all of Marysville; Myrnes Davis of Redmond; also 11 great-grandchildren. Rosary services will be held Tues., August 12 at 7:30 p.m. in Moles Funeral Home. Mass of Christian burial will be held Wed., August 13 at 11 a.m. in St. Joseph's Catholic Church of Ferndale with Rev. Phillip Bloom officiating. Interment to follow at Woodlawn Cemetery. HANSON, Albert M., age 85 of 5738 Sterling Avenue, Ferndale passed away Wednesday, December 8, 1982. Mr. Hanson had been a lifetime resident of Whatcom County; a WWI veteran who had served in France; was a Charter member of the Kulshan Post, American Legion; a member of the Ferndale Jet Oldsters; and the Carpenters Local No. 756. He was preceded in death by his wife, Agnes on August 9, 1980; and is survived by 2 daughters, Lois and her husband Francis Beach of Spokane; Marydel and her husband Bob Winters of Marysville; 1 sister; 7 grandchildren; Gary and Carl Beach, both of Spokane; Dan Winters of Lynnwood; Kelly, Joe and Steve Winters, all of Marysville; Myrnes Davis of Redmond; 13 great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. HANSON, Albert T., age 87 of 528 Sterling Drive, passed away Thursday, December 29, (1966). Mr. Hanson had resided in Bellingham for the past 6 years and was a retired hotel employe. He leaves to survive his wife, Mrs. Milla Hanson at home; 1 sister, Mrs. Annie Meyer of Hudson Bay, Sask., Canada; 6 nephews, 3 nieces. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, January 3 at 1 p.m. in the Chapel of Westford Funeral Home. Interment Bay View.

HANSON, Alberta Celeste, age 62, of Ferndale passed away Sun., Sept. 18th. Mrs. Hanson had been a lifetime resident of Whatcom Co. and is survived by 4 sons: Douglas of Mt. Vernon, Bernard of Bham, Richard of Bremerton and David of Hyder, Alaska; 2 daughters, Valerie York of Ft. Worth, Texas and Carolyn Core in Pennsylvania. An aunt, Lydia Anderson of Ferndale; 9 grandchildren and several cousins. Cremation was held under the direction of Moles Funeral Home with private family services.

HANSON, Alfred H., age 58 years, of 1015 High Street, passed away suddenly Tuesday evening, January 4, (1949) following a short illness. Mr. Hanson had been a resident of Bellingham for the past thirty years and was a prominent realtor, the owner of the A. H. Hanson Real Estate Company. He was a member of the Bellingham Real Estate Board and the Bellingham Insurance Agent's Association. Mr. Hanson leaves to survive his wife, Mrs. Beatrice L. Hanson; one step-son, Thomas Patenall at the home; one sister, Mrs. Matilda Ohlstad, of Galesburg, N.D.; also numerous other relatives. Funeral services will be conducted Monday, January 10 at 1:30 p.m. within the cathedral chapel of the Westford-Beck funeral home with Chester Rutledge of The Firs officiating. Interment in Greenacres Memorial Park.

HANSON, Alfred S., age 85 of 5775 Golden Eagle Drive, Ferndale passed away Tues., March 18, 1980. Mr. Hanson had been a resident of Bellingham for 11 years and Ferndale the past 5 years, he was a member of Unity Church, Bellingham and the Ferndale Jet Oldsters. Surviving are his wife Irene, 3 sons, Richard of Ferndale, Allen in Florida, Robert of Pullman, WA, 2 daughters, Marvel Andrews & Gene Knopf, both of Boring, OR, 16 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren. HANSON, Allen W. of Bellingham, WA, passed away on Tuesday, January 29, 2008. He was 76, born in Belfield, North Dakota, on March 6, 1931, to Mae (Apt) and John W. Hanson. Allen graduated from Bellingham High School. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1955-'59, stationed at Lowry Air Force Base in Denver, and then worked as a heavy equipment operator at Georgia Pacific, retiring after 40 years. On August 23, 1952, Allen married Barbara Benson. She preceded him in death on July 2, 1997. Allen greatly enjoyed hunting, camping, fishing, and hiking. He loved working with his hands. He was an avid builder, and an amazing vegetable gardener whose crops were enjoyed by family, friends and neighbors. Preceding him in death were Barbara, his wife of 45 years; his parents; and his brother David. He is survived by his daughters: Terri Keyes (Rick), Peggy Hoskins (Patrick), and Laurie Hanson (Eric); grandchildren: Allen Keyes, Logan Keyes, Cameron Hoskins, and Katie Hoskins; sister Marilyn Blum; and brothers Byron Hanson and Larry Hanson. HANSON, Alma B., age 59, of Route 2, Ferndale, passed away Tuesday, April 13, (1954) in a local hospital following an extended illness. Mrs. Hanson had been a resident of Pleasant Valley Community for nearly 40 years and was a member of the First Lutheran Church. She is survived by two brothers, Charles Henning of Wayburn, Sask., and Elmer Henning of Ritchie, Sask.; a sister-in-law, Mrs. Ingeborg Selvaag of Bellingham; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted Monday, April 19, at 1 p.m., Monroe Funeral Chapel, Ferndale. Rev. C. M. Peterson officiating. Final resting place Greenacres.

HANSON, Alma Louise, 71, Custer, a 50-year resident of Whatcom County, died Thursday (March 30, 1972). Services were held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in Moles Funeral Home with the Rev. John Solberg officiating. Burial followed in Enterprise Cemetery, Mrs. Hanson attended the Lutheran Brethren Church in Ferndale. Survivors are four daughter, Mrs. Edna Kyllingmark of Ferndale, Mrs. Rosalie Jensen of Custer, Mrs. Arlene Lunde of Great Falls, Mont., and Mrs. Lorene Erickson of Dassel, Minn.; three sons, Ervin and Lester of Ferndale, Donald of Bellingham; three sisters, Mrs. Julia Oines of Poulsbo, Mrs. Malena Arestad of White Rock, B.C. and Mrs. Bertha Pickard of Seattle. Two brothers, Osmund and Lewis Herigstad of Deer Park; 28 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

HANSON, Alma Victoria, aged 14 years, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James E. Hanson, of Mountain View, this county, passed away at a local hospital Sunday (Oct. 15, 1911) afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, death resulting from appendicitis. Miss Hanson is survived by her parents, four brothers and five sisters. Funeral services will be conducted at the family home at Mountain View Tuesday afternoon, October 17, at 1 o'clock interment following in the cemetery at that place. Mock & Hill 1055 Elk street have the arrangements in charge.

HANSON, Andrew, age 95, Rt. 1, Ferndale, passed away Aug. 13, (1959) in a rest home, following an extended illness. He had been a resident of the Ferndale community for the past 49 years. He was a member of the Lutheran Free Church, Whatcom County Dairy Association, the Washington Co-Op. Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Anna Anderson, Rt. 1, Ferndale; three grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted in Moles' Monroe Funeral Chapel, Saturday, Aug. 15, at 1:30 p.m. with the Rev. E. P. Dreyer officiating. Final resting place will be the family plot at Enterprise Cemetery.

HANSON, Andrew M., age 88, passed away in a local nursing home Friday, March 24, 1978. He was a life resident of Bellingham and a member of the Free Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife earl, 2 sons: Harold and Will of Bellingham. 3 step-sons, Archie and Troy Hattery of Chicago and Charles McEbilly of Alabama. 1 daughter, Evelyn Peel of Calif. 3 step-daughters; Mrs. Reeny Bittman of Chicago, Mrs. Irene Seabloom of Arkansas and Mrs. Floy Larson of Bellingham. Numerous nieces and nephews and many grandchildren. Funeral services Tues., March 28 at 1 p.m. from the Jones Funeral Home. Burial in Greenacres Memorial Park.

HANSON, Anna, age 57, 3615 Bennett Drive, passed away Monday, February 7, (1966). Mrs. Hanson was a forty-year resident of this city, and attended the Church of the Open Bible. Survivors are her husband, Joe H.; four sisters, Mrs. Cora Vinup, city; Mrs. Nellie Phillips, Ferndale; Mrs. Edith Van Der Veen, Lynden; Mrs. Jennie Keller, Puyallup; a brother, Charles Duiff in California, and numerous nieces and nephews. Private services will be conducted by Rev. James Rucker Thursday, February 10 at 1 p.m. at the Jones Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Greenacres Memorial Park.

HANSON, Andy, age 80 years, passed away Friday, Dec. 5, (1952) at a local hospital following a short illness. He has been a resident of Blaine for the past 23 years. Mr. Hanson is survived by two stepdaughters, Mrs. Eleanor Gudmudson, Mrs. Anna Bennett, both of Blaine; four grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at the McKinney Funeral Home in Blaine, Wednesday, Dec. 10. Cremation following.

HANSON, Anna K., age 77, passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Irene Emmerson, of 1056 Guide Road, Saturday, Dec. 29, (1952). Mrs. Hanson had been a resident of this community since 1936, and had attended the Presbyterian Church. Surviving relatives other than Mrs. Emmerson, are two other daughters, Mrs. Marguerite Valle of Bellingham, and Mrs. Nora Peterson of Everett; one son, Charles A. of Maple Falls; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild, and three brothers and two sisters in N. Dakota. The remains rest at the funeral home of Harlow-Hollingsworth, where private services will be conducted by Mr. Chester Rutledge Wednesday, January 2, at 1 p.m. Final resting place, Woodlawn.

HANSON, Anna L., age 83 of Rt. 2, Ferndale, passed away Saturday, June 30, (1956) in a local hospital following an extended illness. HANSON, Arthur John, 61, 1611 22nd Street, passed away at home Wednesday, Feb. 13, (1963). Mr. Hanson was a lifetime resident of this area; a member of the Lutheran Church; a commercial fisherman and a Veteran of WWII. Survivors are three brothers, Avin Hanson, Bothell; Henry Hanson, Deming; Mike Hanson, City; three sisters, Mrs. Evelyn Johnson, city; Mrs. Aagot Gooding, Beaver; Mrs. Mildred Mezo, city, and many nieces and nephews. HANSON, Avin, Deming, Wn., age 65, passed away at home Sunday, April 17, (1966). Mr. Hanson had resided in the Seattle area before moving to Deming a year ago, and was a fisherman and farm worker before retiring. He was a member of the Lutheran Church. He was a member of the Lutheran Church. Survivors are his brother, Henry E. Hansen (sic) of Deming; three sisters, Mrs. Lewis Mezo, city; Mrs. George Sawyer, city; Mrs. Newton Gooding of Beaver, Wn., and nieces and nephews. Services will be conducted by Pastor Obed L. G. HANSON, Barbara J., age 64, of Bellingham, WA, passed away on July 2, 1997, at her home in Bellingham. Mrs. Hanson was born June 26, 1933, in Snoqualmie Falls, WA, to Gust and Ethel (Salstrom) Benson. She was a resident of Whatcom County for 60 years and was a graduate of Bellingham High School. She married Allen W. Hanson August 23, 1952 in Bellingham. Mrs. Hanson enjoyed collecting angels and gathering with members of her Sewing Club. Survivors: husband Allen W. Hanson; daughters, Terri Keyes of Bellingham, Peggy Hoskins of Snohomish, Laurie Hanson of Seattle; grandsons Allen and Logan Keyes of Bellingham, Cameron Hoskins of Snohomish; Sisters Dolores Dalenius of Bellingham, Lorraine Walsh of Auburn. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, July 8, 1997 at Hillcrest Chapel, 1400 Larrabee, with Pastor Mitch McConkey officiating. Arrangements are by Jones-Moles Funeral Home and Cremation Services.

HANSON, Barney, age 67, of Blaine, passed away at home Tuesday, January 3, (1956). Mr. Hanson had resided in Whatcom County for the past 54 years, was former Police Chief and City Councilman of Blaine, and a retired service station operator. Surviving relatives include his widow, Oline at home; two sons, Theodore and William of Blaine; 8 grandchildren; two brothers, Oscar of Bellingham and Einar of Burlingame, Calif.; five sisters, Mrs. Sena Bornstein, Mrs. Victoria wright, Mrs. Flora Taplin, and Mrs. Emily Erholm, all of Bellingham, and Mrs. Evelyn Caughey of Seattle. HANSON, Beverley Lynne, age 34, of 1112 Jersey St., passed away in a local hospital Monday, December 30, (1963). Mrs. Hanson was a 3 1/2 year resident of this city and was a member of the Central Lutheran Church. Surviving are her husband, Jimmie, at home; 2 daughters, Valerie and Amy, 1 son, Jimmie Jr., all at home, her mother, Mrs. Agnes Young of Monterey, Calif., her grandmother, Mrs. Mary Young of Seattle. Services will be conducted by pastor Obed L. G. Vold Friday, January 3 at 1 p.m. in the Central Lutheran Church. Under the direction of the Jones Funeral Home. HANSON, Charles, age 88, who has been a resident of Bellingham for the past 8 years, passed away in a local nursing home Monday, April 22, (1974). He leaves to survive a sister, Ragna Nelson of Michigan. Graveside services were held Friday, April 26 at 11:30 a.m. in Bay View Cemetery with Rev. Lawrence Gurderian officiating. under the direction of Bingham & Jerns Funeral Home.

HANSON, Charles Anthony - A funeral service for Charles Anthony Hanson was held on Tuesday morning, Nov. 7, at 10 a.m. at Mt. Baker Baptist Conference Center in Maple Falls with Rev. Jim Williams officiating. Burial followed in Maple Falls Cemetery. Mr. Hanson passed away at his home in Maple Falls early Saturday morning, Nov. 4, 1989, at the age of 77. He was born on June 25, 1912, in Ray, North Dakota, a son of Charles Magnus Hanson and Anna Katherine (Ronnigan) Hanson. He was married to Ruth Bogie in Reno, Nevada, on July 18, 1941. Mr. Hanson served in the United States Navy from 1943 to 1945. Together, the Hansons moved from California to Whatcom County in 41946. Charles was a carpenter and a builder, retiring in 1971 at the age of 62. He was a member of the Carpenters' and Joiners' Union Local No. 756 in Bellingham. He loved the outdoors, building, hunting, fishing, and animals. His survivors include his wife, Ruth, of the family home; two sons, Kenneth and wife Patricia Todd of Scappoose, Oregon, and Thomas and wife Jo Hanson of Bothell; a daughter, Lois Hanson of Maple Falls; two grandchildren; three sisters, Peggy Valle of Bellingham, Irene Emmerson of Lake Stevens, and Nora Peterson of Seattle; and numerous nieces and nephews. Services and arrangements were under the care of Gillies Funeral Home of Lynden.

HANSON, Charlotte, age 48, of 1409 W. Illinois, passed away at a local hospital Monday morning, November 28, (1949) following a lingering illness. Mrs. Hanson had been a resident of Bellingham for the past 26 years and was a member of the Eagles auxiliary and the Jolly Eight. Surviving relatives include her husband, Alfred W. Hanson; one daughter, Mrs. J. W. Dries of Bellingham; one grandson, John Dries, of Bellingham; four sisters, Mrs. Myrtle Gibbs, Pendleton, Ore., Mrs. Mabel Cooper of Bellingham, Mrs. Maude Hanbley, Anacortes, and Mrs. Elsie Bruaw of Seattle; four brothers, Arden Compton, VanNuys, Calif., Elmer Compton, Everson, Clifford Compton, Anacortes, and Douglas of Bellingham; also many other relatives. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, December 1, at 2 p.m. within the Cathedral Chapel of the Westford-Beck Funeral Home with Dr. A. Paul Daugherty, pastor of the First Christian Church officiating, followed by ritualistic services of the F.O.E. Eagles Auxiliary. Interment in Woodlawn Cemetery.

HANSON, Clarence S., church and fraternal worked, died at a local hospital early Saturday, (May 13, 1933), aged 48 years. He was a member of the First Christian church, Whatcom lodge No. 151 F & A.M. and Maple Leaf chapter No. 58, O.E.S. He had lived here twenty-four years. Mr. Hanson is survived by his widow, Mrs. Rosehellen Hanson; two children, Dorothy E. and H. Jean Hanson, 2320 G street; mother, Mrs. Nora Hanson, and two brothers, Beadle and Guy Hanson, Los Angeles, Cal. Funeral services will be held at the Harlow-Hollingsworth chapel Monday at 2 p.m., with the Rev. E. H. Fife officiating. Whatcom lodge No. 151 will give its ritualistic service. Cremation will follow. Honorary pallbearers will be Charles Robinette, Frank Wilson, R. C. Van Buren, Jack Mauchlin, James Chevalier and Frederick Weihe.

HANSON, Conrad A., age 89 of 2400 Samish Way passed away Saturday, Sept. 25, (1976). He is survived by 2 sons, Harold of Custer and John of Coos Bay, Oregon, 1 daughter, Mrs. Myrtle Lahr, Redding, California, numerous grandchildren, 2 sisters, Mrs. Ethel Kivley, city and Mrs. Hedvig Odden, Fergus Falls, Minn. Funeral services were held Tues., Sept. 28 at 2 p.m. from the Chapel of the Westford Funeral Home with Rev. Richard Valvatne officiating followed by cremation.

HANSON, Daisy C. - At her request, no services will be held for Daisy C. Hanson, 83, who resided at Chuckanut Square. She died Tuesday, (Feb. 22, 1983). Cremation will be in Greenacres Memorial Park. She was born Nov. 26, 1899, in Bellingham. Survivors include three grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Arrangements are by Jones Funeral Home.

HANSON, Darlene Kay, 1717 E. Sunset Drive, infant daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Vernon A. Hanson, passed away Saturday, June 18, (1966). Besides her parents she is survived by three brothers, Jeff, Bret and Stan and a sister, Holle all at home; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Little; Mrs. Sarah Hanson, and Mrs. Joe Hanson, all of this City. Graveside services were conducted by Pastor Obed L. G. Vold at Bay View Cemetery at 3:00 p.m. today, June 20, under the direction of the Jones Funeral Home.

HANSON, Donald E., age 65, of 6153 Vista Dr., Ferndale, passed away, Thurs., Dec. 31, 1987. He was born Nov. 10, 1922 in LaPorte, Minnesota. He was a Ferndale & Custer resident since 1924, a member of the Custer VFW Post 9474, he was a[n] Army veteran of WWII. Survivors include his mother Anne Hanson of Ferndale; sister, Dorothy & husband William L. Dolley III of Blaine; numerous nieces, nephews & relatives in the Midwest. HANSON, Duane Allen "Tony" - Born on September 5, 1954 in Bellingham, WA, the 5th child of Ervin and Elaine Hanson passed away suddenly of a head injury on October 3, 2011 in Seaside, Oregon. Called "Tony" by his family and friends, he graduated from Ferndale High school and spent 35 years as a dairy farmer on Grandview Road in Ferndale, WA. Tony moved to Seaside, Oregon in 1999 and began what was to become his passion in life, a dog breeding business with Min Pins. HANSON, Edmund M., age 63 years, passed away at a local hospital, Saturday, January 27, (1945). Mr. Hanson, an accountant, had lived in Bellingham for the past twenty-one years, and was a member of the Champion Street Baptist Church. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Clara J. Hanson; one son, Carl Hanson, in the service of the United States; one daughter, Mrs. Ray Anderson, Anchorage, Alaska. His remains rest at the funeral home of Harlow-Hollingsworth where funeral services will be conducted by Rev. N. C. Parsons Tuesday, January 30, at 10:30 a.m. Final resting place, Crown Hill Cemetery, Seattle.

HANSON, Elias, 51 years of 322 West 77nd St., Seattle, former of Bellingham, passed away in that city. He was the husband of Aslaug, father of Lawrence J. Hanson, brother of Jacob and Tonnes Hanson. Mr. Hanson was a member of the Phinney Ridge Lutheran Church, Ballard Aerie No. 172, F.O.E. and of the Alaska Fishermen's Union. HANSON, Emily F., age 96, Sedro Woolley resident since 1911 died Wednesday (July 5, 1978). She was born in N. Dakota in 1882 and was one of the original pioneer settles of the Hoogdal community near Sedro Hoolley. She is survived by 2 sons, Eddie Hanson, Oso, WA, Carl Hanson of Sedro Woolley; 3 daughters, Agda Bergquist of Sedro Woolley, Alice Frisk of Shelton, Mabel Browne of Sedro Woolley; 13 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren. HANSON, Esther Louise, age 78 of Custer, resident of Whatcom County for fifty-seven years, passed away Thursday, November 6, 1997 at her home after a long battle with cancer. Mrs. Hanson was born on January 26, 1919 in Wolf Point, MT, to John and Anna (Matheson) Kelstrup. In 1936 the family moved to Ferndale. She graduated from Lutheran Brethren School, Fergus Falls, MN. She married Harold Hanson October 24, 1942 in Ferndale. In 1943 they purchased a farm in Custer. After their retirement in 1978 they spent their time traveling. Esther enjoyed gardening, music, sewing, playing cards, games and she loved to dance to music of the Zenders, Haureuglls and Quick Silver Bands. She loved to fish the Sea of Cortez, also Montana and the lakes of British Columbia. For forty-seven years she was a member of Sunrise Baptist Church. She is survived by her loving husband Harold of fifty-five years; son John and wife Eileen Hanson of Custer, daughters, Phyllis and husband Stan Kostanoski of Ferndale, Louise and husband Steve McMurry of Sitka, AK; son Jim and wife Denise Hanson of Bellingham; brothers, Art Kelstrup of Chehalis, WA, Sigurd Kelstrup of Ferndale; sisters, Borghild Olsen of Marysville, WA, Harriett Klippert of Glendale Heights, IL, Gunvor Olson of Everett, WA; ten grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. HANSON, Frances V., age 71, died in Port Angeles, Monday, March 2, 1981. Born Buxton, N. HANSON, Francis Willard, age 60 of Route 2, Ferndale, passed away at his home Friday, June 19, (1959). He had been a resident of the Custer district for the past 35 years, and was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church and F & AM of Lynden. Survivors include his wife, Anne, 1 daughter, Mrs. Dorothy Dolley of Richmond, Virginia; 1 son, Donald E. of Route 2, Ferndale; 4 brothers, Vernet of Prince Rupert, Alden of Cedar Falls, Iowa, Sterling and Merton both of Ferndale. Three sisters, Mrs. C. H. Cameron of Keyser, Virginia and Mrs. Margaret Eubanks of Marshall, Minn., Mrs. Louis Stahn of Fergus Falls, Minn. HANSON, Fred C., age 67, of 1212 Indian St., passed away in a local hospital Sunday, November 22, (1959). Mr. Hanson had resided in Bellingham for the past 28 years; was a realtor and had attended St. James Presbyterian Church. Survivors are his widow, Orpha K., at home; two sisters, Miss Signe Hanson of Fargo, No. Dak., and Mrs. Karen Norcross, of Sheridan, Wyo.; two brothers, Arthur Hanson of Lombard, Ill., and Hadley Hanson, of Albert Lee, Minn.; numerous nieces and nephews. The remains rest at the Jones Funeral Home where services will be conducted by Dr. Jesse Baird, and the Revs. Grant Whipple and Arthur E. Bezenson (sic), Wednesday, No. 25, at 1:30 p.m. The remains will be forwarded to Minneapolis, Minn., for burial in Lakewood Cemetery.

HANSON, Gudrun, age 70 years, of Blaine, passed away at the family home Monday, March 7, (1949). Mrs. Hanson had been a resident of Blaine for the past 42 years. Surviving relatives include her husband, Andy Hanson; two daughters, Mrs. George Bennett, of Kiawock, Alaska, and Mrs. Norman Gudmundson, of Blaine; four grandchildren; one brother, in Iceland; and one cousin, Mrs. Lilly Sigurdson, of Vancouver, B.C. HANSON, Hans, age 88 who formerly resided at 2423 D St., passed away in a local hospital on Tuesday, November 19, (1963). Mr. Hanson was a63-year resident of Bellingham and was a member of the Central Lutheran Church. Previous to his retirement he was a Lime Kiln fireman at Orcas Island and San Juan County. He leaves to survive two brothers, Samuel O. and Joseph G. Hanson both residing in Bellingham. HANSON, Harry, age 62, who resided at 1509 E. Victor St., passed away in a local hospital Sunday, May 7, (1961) following an extended illness. He was a retired naval officer U.S. Navy for 30 years; a VA service operator for Sho Shane County in Idaho; veteran of WWII. HANSON, Herbert C. - Funeral services for Mr. Herbert C. Hanson, age 69, of 1764 Front Street, Lynden, were conducted on Saturday, May 12, at 11 a.m. in the Chapel of the Gillies Funeral Home with Rev. David Loper officiating. Burial followed in Lynden Cemetery. Mr. Hanson, who died suddenly Thursday, May 10, (1984) was born in Amery, Wisconsin, and moved to Whatcom County from Minnesota in 1936. He had recently retired from De Jong Packing Company in Lynden, where he had been employed for the past 20 years. He is survived by a sister, Mrs. Mona and husband Clarence Johnson of Bellingham; a niece, Mrs. Dolores and husband Eugene Wassenaar of Everson; three great-nieces in California, a great-niece in Everson and two great-nephews, also in Everson. HANSON, Herbert C. - A memorial service for former commercial fisher and trucker Herbert C. Hanson, 83, will be at 3 p.m. Friday at Jerns-LeVeck Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Mark Robinson officiating. Mr. Hanson, of 1025 W. Bakerview Road, died Wednesday (July 31, 1991) at home. He was born April 6, 1908, in New Westminster, B.C., to Charles and Betra Hanson. The family moved to Bellingham in 1912. Mr. Hanson married Thelma Seelye on Oct. 27, 1943, in Everett. He worked as a fisher and also drove a truck for Bellingham Crate. He served in the Merchant Marine during World War II in Hawaii. He was a member of Central Lutheran Church. Mr. Hanson's hobbies included fishing in Puget Sound, gardening and rock collecting. Survivors include his wife, Thelma Hanson of the family home; sons, Jerry Birdsey and Charles Hanson, both of Lynden, Dale Hanson and Robert Hanson, both of Bellingham, and Frank Hanson of Seattle; daughters, Arlene Jonientz and Marilyn Hansen (sic), both of Seattle, Lorelei Hanson of Arlington, and Leona Hanson of Mountlake Terrace; his sister, Anne Selstead of Bellingham; and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

HANSON, Hilmer N. - Memorial services for Hilmer N. Hanson, age 72, of 2400 Grant St., Bellingham, were held Wednesday, July 10, at Jones Funeral home with Rev. Earl Crouse of the Sumas Advent Christian Church officiating. Cremation followed. Mr. Hanson passed away Saturday, July 6, (1985). He had been a resident of Custer, Sumas and Bellingham all his life. Born October 9, 1895 in Pardeeville, Wisconsin to George and Sarah Keith, in 1905 she left Wisconsin as a child with her parents to homestead in Western North Dakota for 3 years, moving to Belfield, North Dakota; taught school; married Harold C. Hanson September, 1919, he preceded her in death in 1959; moved to Portland, Oregon in 1943; then to Bellingham, WA in 1985 residing at Parkway Chateau; she enjoyed gardening. Survived by her daughter, Shirley J. Hall; sister, Beulah M. Keith, both of Bellingham, WA. HANSON, James Peter, age 87 years, resident of the county since 1891, and of Ferndale since 1901, passed away Sunday, May 23, (1948), at the home of his son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Albert M. Hanson, 2437 Cherry Street, following a lingering illness. Besides his son, he leaves to survive, two daughter, Mrs. Nina Eckman, of Portland, Mrs. Gladys Vinup, Lynden; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held in Monroe's Chapel at Ferndale, Wednesday afternoon, May 26, at 3 p.m. Rev. G. B. Baird officiating. Interment in Woodlawn Cemetery.

HANSON, Jennie M. - Funeral services for Mrs. Jennie M. Hanson, age 95, a former Sumas resident, were conducted on Wednesday, Dec. 16, 1987, at 1 p.m. in Sumas Advent Christian Church with Rev. Earl Crouse officiating. Burial followed in Sumas Cemetery. Mrs. Hanson, who was born in the Lawrence area on April 26, 1892, died in Lynden on Saturday, Dec. 12, 1987. A lifetime county resident, Mrs. Hanson was married to her husband, Carl, in Bellingham on June 29, 1912. Together they farmed in the Ten Mile area and then purchased a farm east of Sumas. They retired in 1945. Mr. Hanson died in 1971. Mrs. Hanson was also a member of Sumas Advent Christian Church. She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Caroline and husband Herbert Ambrosius of Grass Valley, Calif.; 10 grand- and 15 great-grandchildren; a brother, Chris Larson of Bremerton; a half-sister, Mrs. Ann Likness of Seattle; a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Kay Hanson of Bellingham; a sister-in-law, Mrs. Nora Larson of Sumas; and numerous other relatives. She was preceded in death by a son, Hilmer Hanson, in 1985 and a daughter, Mrs. Katherine Jordan, also in 1985. Funeral services were under the direction of Gillies Funeral Home.

HANSON, Jimmie Odean, 71, of Yuma, AZ, previously of Bellingham, passed away in Porterville, CA on April 2, 2005 after a 17-month battle with lung cancer. He was born October 21, 1933 in Lincoln County, SD. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served from 1951 to 1953. In 1959 Jim moved his family to Washington State; in 1960 he came to Bellingham, and he remained a Whatcom County resident until 2000 when he retired to sunny Yuma, Arizona, where he lived most of the last 5 years. Mr. Hanson was preceded in death by his first wife, Beverly Lynne, and his parents, Hjalmer and Irene Hanson. He is survived by his wife, Virginia, of Porterville, CA; daughters, Valerie Wheeler (Andy) of Custer, Amy Wimmer (Tom) of Seattle, Cynthia White and Susie Betts, both of Bellingham; son, Jim Hanson, Jr. (Tammy) of Ferndale; stepsons, Richard, Rodney, and Randall Lybarger, all of Porterville, CA; brothers, Foster Hanson (Beverly) of San Pablo, CA and Roland Hanson of Shingle Springs, CA; sister Janet Howard (Bob) of Bellingham; 15 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Jim worked for many years as an insurance agent and at various other professions. He enjoyed working with his hands, and most recently was a carpenter and skilled cabinet maker. As a Korean War veteran, Jim was very proud of his service to his country, and he was a lifetime member of the Bellingham post of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Jim, always outspoken, had deeply conservative convictions and enjoyed debating anyone who challenged him. A memorial service will be held at Lairmont Manor in Bellingham at 1:00 on Thursday, April 14. Cremation services are being provided by Myers Funeral Home of Porterville, CA.

HANSON, Joe H., 82, of 1308 Birchwood Ave. died Thursday, (Aug. 7, 1986) in Bellingham. He was born Feb. 4, 1904, in Canada, but had been a Bellingham resident most of his life. Survivors include a daughter, Donna Hanson of Bellingham; a sister, Ann Selstead of Bellingham; a brother, Herbert Hanson of Bellingham; and numerous nieces and nephews. HANSON, John I., age 68, former long time resident of Bellingham passed away in a Seattle hospital Wed., April 27, (1977). He had made his home at Coos Bay, Oregon the past 20 years. HANSON, Jonas E., age 81 years of age, of Ferndale, passed away at a Bellingham hospital, Friday, December 20, (1946) after a lingering illness. He had been a resident of this county for the past 37 years. HANSON, Lawrence, 56, of 2014 Central Road, Everson, died at home of lung cancer Sept. 15, 1992. At his request no services will be held. Mr. Hanson was born July 28, 1936, in Winona, Minn., to Zula and Glenn Hanson. He received a bachelor's and a master's degree from the University of Minnesota. A sculptor and professor of art, Mr. Hanson worked at Western Washington University since 1963. He ran Western's Art Department Gallery for many years. He loved cooking, gardening and bird watching, and his profession as artist and educator. Survivors include brother John Hanson of Vernon, C.C.; daughters Shawn Hanson-Carlson of Washington, D.C., and Teresa Hanson of Bellingham; sons David Hanson of Ferndale and Paul Hanson of Bellingham; and two granddaughters. HANSON, LLoyd E., 70, of Woodinville, a former Whatcom County resident, died Wednesday, Dec. 24, (1980). He was born in Owatonna, Minn., and moved to Custer in 1970. He was a member of Woodinville United Methodist Church and Minnesota and Washington Horse Breeders Associations. HANSON, Marie J., age 87 years, of Route 1, Ferndale, passed away Tuesday, October 6, (1953) at a local hospital following a lingering illness. HANSON, Martin E., age 88, of 1615 King Street, passed away in a Seattle hospital Wednesday, August 26, (1953). Mr. Hanson had resided in Bellingham for the past 46 years, and was a retired ship builder for the Pacific American Fisheries. He was a member of the Central Lutheran Church, and the Ancient Order of United Workmen, Evergreen Lodge No. 2 in Seattle. Surviving relatives include four sons: Russell M. HANSON, Mary, prominent Ferndale resident, died at the family home early Wednesday morning (Oct. 18, 1933) after a brief illness. Mrs. Hanson was 63 years of age. Mrs. Hanson is survived by her husband, U. P. Hanson; three daughters, Anna, Nina and Gladys Hanson; one son Albert Hanson; a sister, Mrs. A. K. Besides Mrs. Kivley, two other daughters survive, Mrs. Hedvig Odden, of Viking, Minn., and Mrs. Tina Yentach, of Blooming Prairie, Minn.; three sons, Conrad Hanson, Route 3, Bellingham, Richard Hanson, of Helena, Montana, Robert Hanson, of Lampard, Sask.; twenty-six grandchildren and twenty-five great-grandchildren; also numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted from the Monroe Funeral Home in Ferndale, Wednesday, May 22, at 2 p.m. with Rev. E. H. Gunhus officiating. Following the services the remains will be shipped to Warren, Minn., for interment.

HANSON, Max Bernhardt, age 69, of 2631 Hampton Place passed away on Orcas Island Tuesday, July 21, (1964). A 55 year resident of Bellingham, Mr. Hanson was a retired salesman having been employed by the Lee Grocery for 40 years. He was a member of Our Saviour's Lutheran Church and was a member of the United Commercial Travelers. HANSON, Patricia M., 33, of Moses Lake, died Wednesday (May 28, 1986) at Gold Leaf Convalescent Home in Ellensburg after an extended illness. Mrs. Hanson was born June 12, 1952, in Seattle and married Ronald Hanson on April 4, 1975, in Everett. She received her early education in Everett and graduated from Washington State University in Pullman in 1974. Mr. and Mrs. Hanson made their home in Moses Lake, and she taught in Longview, Garden Heights and Larson Heights elementary schools. She retired because of ill health. Survivors include her husband and daughter, Christine, both of the family home; her father, William Stanley Ford of Everett; and her brother, Stephen B. Ford of Okanogan. Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the Trinity Episcopal Church, 2301 Hoyt Ave., Everett. The body will be cremated, and ashes will be placed at Evergreen Cemetery in Everett. Mr. Hanson had been a resident of Bellingham for the past six months and was formerly of Oak Harbor, Minn. HANSON, Rosehellen, (Rose), age 88, of 2825 Franklin, B'ham, passed away Sat. June 3, 1978. Mrs. Hanson was past matron and secretary for 23 years of the Maple Leaf Chapter No. 58, O.E.S. She is survived by 1 son William Macomber and 1 daughter Mrs. C. R. (Dorothy) Reser, of B'ham. A sister, Kate Nehr of B'ham. 6 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren. Memorial services will be held Tues., June 6 at 10:30 a.m. in the First Christian Church with Reverend Richard Talley officiating. Cremation under the direction of Veroskes Bellingham Chapel.

HANSON, Roy William, age 55, of 215 Brandson St., Seattle, passed away in a Seattle hospital, Tuesday, Aug. 1, (1961). Mr. Hanson had been a resident of Bellingham for 3 1/2 years before moving to Seattle a week ago, was a retired mechanic, was a member of International Assn. of Machinists No. 289, of Seattle, and was a member of the Lutheran Church. Surviving relatives include the widow, Marion A. at home; three daughters, Mrs. Sandra Knutson of Seattle, Miss Ramona Hanson at home, Mrs. Maxine Martinson of Bellingham; five grandchildren; four brothers, Henry of Deming, Avin of Bothell, Arthur and Mike of Bellingham; three sisters, Mrs. Mildred Mezo and Mrs. Evelyn Johnson of Bellingham, Mrs. Asgot Godding of Forks, Wash. The remains rest at the Jones Funeral Home where services will be conducted by Rev. Norman A. Dahle, Monday, Aug. 7, at 1 p.m., followed by cremation.

HANSON, Sadie Summerfield, age 72, 2315 Williams Street, passed away in a local hospital Wednesday, July 31, (1963). Mrs. Hanson was a twenty year resident of this community, and was a member of the 7th Day Adventist Church. Survivors are one daughter, Mrs. Betty Genovese, Mt. Vernon; three sons, Winston R., Tajunga, Calif.; Harry M. Jr., Superior, Wis.; Duane I., City; eleven grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Clara Would, City; Mrs. May Spaeth, San Berardino, Calif., and Mrs. Mable Waters of Beaumont, Tex. The remains rest at the Jones Funeral Home where services will be conducted by Elder P. D. Gerrard Friday, Aug. 2 at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow in Bay View Cemetery.

HANSON, Sterling O. "Ster" age 88, passed away August 19, 1997 in Battle Ground, WA. Born July 18, 1909 in Fairfax, Minnesota. He resided in the Bellingham/Ferndale area for more than 30 years. Member of Zion Lutheran Church of Ferndale. He was a welder, mechanic & operated the rock crusher for the Whatcom Co. Road Dept. Enjoyed reading, Lawrence Welk, The Seahawks & Mariner's games on TV, which he thought were the only things on TV worth watching. He enjoyed "tinkering" around and fixing things, he was a "mole hater"! Preceded in death by his wife, Laurane Hanson in 1990. Survived by 2 daughters, Mary Jo Mohr & husband Don of Pasco, WA, Sue Gullickson & husband Ron of Battle Ground, WA; brother Alden Hanson of Cedar Fall, Iowa; sisters, Margaret Eubanks of St. Paul, Minn., and Cora Stahn of Sauk Rapids, Minn.; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Graveside services, Monday, August 25, 1997 at 11:00 a.m. at Greenacres Memorial Park, 5700 Northwest Rd., Ferndale, WA. Layne's Funeral Home, Battle Ground, in care of arrangements.

HANSON, Thorleif A. "Bill", 46, of 1412 Lincoln St., passed away in a local hospital Monday, May 27, (1957). Mr. Hanson had been a resident of this community the past 44 years, was a fisherman for P.A.F., and was a member of the Culinary & Beverage Workers No. 529. Surviving relatives include the widow, Marie at the family home; two daughters, Miss Marion Kay and Miss Martha Marie, both at home; two brothers, Joseph and Herbert, both of Bellingham, and a sister, Mrs. Ann Selstead of this city. The remains rest at the Jones' Harlow-Hollingsworth Funeral Home where services will be conducted by Pastor Oscar A. Jacobson Wednesday, May 29, at 3 p.m. Final resting place Greenacres Memorial Park.

HANSON, William F. of Mercer Island, a former Blaine resident, died Wednesday, (Aug. 7, 1985). He was 73. Mr. Hanson was born in Blaine on Jan. 18, 1612. With his father, Barney, and his brother, Ted, he ran Ted & Bill's Shell Service, which was located near the international border, about where the Blaine Benny's restaurant is now. He moved to Mercer Island in 1957, and became a King County deputy sheriff. He was retired from that position. Survivors include his wife, Ruth M.; a son, William L. of Bellevue; two daughters, Maxine Box of Bellevue and Linda Marks of Mercer Island; eight grandchildren and a brother, Ted of Bellingham. At his request, no services will be held.
