HANSEN, Albert A., age 72 years, resident of Ferndale, Route 3, for the past 12 years, passed away (June 25, 1948) as a result of an accident at his home. He is survived by five daughters, Mrs. Ella Shortridge, Mrs. Elsie Mott, both of Sherwood, North Dakota, Mrs. Emma Brown, Graceville, Minn., Mrs. May Peterson, of Turn Brooks, South Dakota, Erna, Bellingham; five sons, Friis, of Choteau, Montana, Henry, Mohall, North Dakota, Lynn, San Francisco, Calif., Lowman, Custer, Jim, Seattle; one brother, O. F. Hansen, North Dakota. Private services will be conducted at Monroe's Chapel in Ferndale, Wednesday, June 30. Cremation follows.HANSEN, Alida Belle, age 68, of 819 Kentucky St., passed away in a local rest home Friday, July 4, (1958). Mrs. Hansen had been a 51 year resident of this community and had attended the James St. Bible School. Surviving relatives are her husband, Henry A., at home, and many nieces and nephews. The remains rest at the Jones Funeral Home where services will be conducted by Phillip T. Wegener Tuesday, July 8, at 10:30 a.m. Final resting place Woodlawn Cemetery.
HANSEN, Alvin E. "Cap" died at Highland Convalescent Center Sunday, August 3, 1997. He was born October 4, 1905, to Hans and Anetta Hansen in Bellingham, where he has resided all of his life. He was 91. Al married Tillie Gilbert on June 28, 1930. She died in 1983. He was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Karen Hansen Sundean, in 1985. In the 1930's he worked with his father in the original Cap Hansen's Tavern on Cornwall Ave. In 1948 Al and his brother-in-law, Clarence Kline, opened the present Cap Hansen's on Chestnut St. In 1970 Al sold the tavern and retired. His passion was salmon fishing and his hobby was cabinetmaking. At his request there will be no services. Al is survived by one son, Ron and wife Michaele, two grandsons, Jeff and Eric, 7 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-granddaughter, a sister-in-law Vera Hansen, all of Bellingham, and many nieces & nephews. HANSEN, Alvin James, 69, of 8249 Valley View Road, Custer, passed away at St. Joseph Hospital Main Campus in Bellingham on Feb. 26, (1991). He was born on Feb. 24, 1922 in Custer and was a lifetime resident. He graduated from the former Custer High School in 1942. He was employed by Thiel Plumbing and Heating from 1952 until his retirement in 1984. He was a member of the Sheet Metal Workers Union No. 66 in Bellingham and also a member of Sunrise Baptist Church in Custer. In Custer on Sept. 2, 1947 he was married to Hannah VanAlsburg and she survives him at the family home. Other survivors include: five sons, Dale Hansen and wife Terri of Bellingham, Darrel Hansen of Blaine, Duane Hansen and wife Kathy of Ferndale, Dennis Hansen and wife Nancy of Bellingham and David Hansen and wife Barbara of Ferndale; sister JoAnne Hardy of Everett; sister-in-law Midge Hansen of Portland, six grandchildren and numerous other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ivar and Ester (Benjamen) Hansen, and two brother, Clarence and Earl Hansen. A memorial service was held Saturday at Sunrise Baptist Church in Custer with Rev. John Aldrich officiating. Burial was in Monumenta Cemetery. Arrangement are under the care of Gillies Funeral Home of Lynden.

She had been a resident of the Lynden district for the past seventeen years, and is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Mabel Pearson, Ferndale, Route 1, Mrs. Lillian Hostrup, Luck, Wisconsin; two sons, Edward and Walter, both of Ferndale, Route 1; four brothers, George and Rasmus Jensen, both of Jackson, Minnesota, Han, of St. Paul, Minn., and Nels, of Lincoln, Nebraska; one sister in Denmark; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted, Friday, December 26, at 2 p.m. from the Gillies Funeral home in Lynden. Interment in Lynden Cemetery.
HANSEN, Annette, of 1423 Garden Street, passed away in a local hospital Sunday, May 9, (1954). Mrs. Hansen was the widow of the late Cap Hansen, and had resided in this community for the past 60 years. She was a member of the Norwegian Lutheran Church. Surviving relatives include two sons: Alvin E. Hansen, and Archie A. Hansen, both of Bellingham; two daughters, Mrs. Signa Harris, of Vancouver, B.C., and Mrs. Ethel Kline of Bellingham; four grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. The remains rest at the funeral home of Harlow-Hollingsworth where services will be conducted by Rev. James M. Wilson, Wednesday, May 12, at 1 p.m. Cremation.
HANSEN, Annie B. - Services for Annie B. Hansen, 91, will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the Westford Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Dennis Anderson and intern Scott Jakel officiating. Mrs. Hansen of 409 York St. died Saturday (April 27, 1991) at Shuksan Convalescent Center, where she had lived for a year. She was born Annie Olden on Aug. 7, 1899, in Chehalis, to John and Mary Olden. She married Toralf Hansen in 1922 in Bellingham. Mrs. Hansen was a retired laundry worker for St. Joseph Hospital, where she worked for 30 years. She was a member of the Maple Leaf Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star, the Central Lutheran Church and the Amaranth Club. She enjoyed crocheting and crocheted numerous items for St. Joseph Hospital's gift shop. Her husband died in 1953 in Bellingham. Her daughter, June Ballard, died in 1987 in Bellingham. Survivors include a daughter, Arlene Olund (Virgil) of Bellingham; son-in-law, Wendell Ballard of Bellingham; sisters Bernice Nilson (Ingolf) of Bellingham and Elena Kirchof (Ed) of Seattle; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Arrangements are by Westford Funeral Home.
HANSEN, Arthur L., 84, a long-time Bellingham resident, will be buried in Bayview Cemetery. No services are planned. A local commercial fisherman, he was born Sept. 14, 1898, in Norway. He died Saturday (June 25, 1983). He is survived by one daughter, three grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Arrangements are by Jerns and LeVeck Funeral Chapel and Crematorium.
HANSEN, Barbara C., age 55, of 291 Ten Mile Rd., Lynden, passed away in Bellingham on Thursday, Dec. 6, 1984. She had been a Whatcom County resident since 1962 & was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Ferndale Second Ward, Bellingham Stake, the American Nurses Assoc., Wash. State & the Calif. State Nurses Associations, member & chairman of the Board of Directors of the Norbell Nursing Home & was a graduate of Idaho Falls High School, Idaho. She received her R.N. from St. Lukes Hospital in Boise, Idaho & worked as a surgical nurse in Idaho, as a Surgery Supervisor in Monterey, CA & also worked as a psychiatric nurse in Salt Lake City, UT. She is survived by her husband, Dr. Burdette R. Hansen; 3 sons, Mark Hansen & his wife Rhonda of Provo, UT, Gregory Hansen & his wife Beverly of Provo, UT, & Barry Hansen of Lynden; 2 daughters, Barbara Hansen of Los Angeles, CA & Brooke Hansen of Lynden; her mother, Molinda Denning of Iona, ID; her sister Helen Ford of Salt Lake City, UT; 6 grandchildren; numerous other relatives. Funeral services will be conducted Monday, Dec. 10th at 2 p.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Ferndale Second Ward, Bellingham Stake. All are welcome. HANSEN, Belle, of 1509 East Victor Street, passed away at a local hospital Monday, April 13, (1953) following an extended illness. Mrs. Hansen had been a resident of Bellingham for the past seven years. She is survived by one son Thomas, of Boulder, Colorado, and one daughter, Mrs. Lenora Cole, of Manhattan Beach, Calif. HANSEN, Bernard "Ben" age 83, of 6800 Enterprise Rd., Ferndale, passed away Monday, Oct. 19, 1992 in Bellingham at St. Francis Extended Health Care. He was born Feb. 3, 1909 in Bellingham to Hans and Matilda Holmstrom Hansen and was a lifetime resident. Married Bertha Adams in Bellingham on August 15, 1936. Mr. Hansen was a member of United Brotherhood of Carpenters & Joiners of America, Local #756, with 50 years of service. He enjoyed woodworking and making things for his family. Survived by his wife Bertha of the family home; son, Dale Hansen & wife Charlene of Soldotna, Alaska; brothers, Vernon Hansen & wife Dolores of Whidbey island and Carl Hansen & wife Mildred of Bellingham; sister-in-law, Margarite Hansen of Bellingham; 2 granddaughters, Seena Mack & husband Curtis of Olympia and Tresha Jackson & husband Tyra of Olympia, and numerous nieces and nephews. HANSEN, Bert, age 55, passed away at the family home, 2609 Texas St., Saturday, Sept. 26, (1953). Mr. Hansen had resided in this community for the past 30 years and was a member of the Free Methodist Church. Surviving relatives are his widow, Tilda M. and two sons, Marlen and Bert Jr., all at home; three brothers, Hans and Wilfred, both of Edmonds, and John of Seattle; two sisters, Mrs. Nell Slater of Seattle, and Mrs. Lucy Callahan of Edmonds; also numerous nieces and nephews. HANSEN, Bertha May Pearl, age 79, of 6800 Enterprise Rd., Ferndale, passed away Fri., July 9, 1993, at St. Francis Extended Health Care in Bellingham. She was born May 1, 1914 in Watson, Missouri to Floyd and Anna Dew Adams. Mrs. Hansen was a Whatcom County resident for the past 59 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard Hansen in Oct. of 1992; a sister, Elizabeth Sanders in Nov. of 1992, and a brother, Floyd Adams in Feb. of 1991. She is survived by her son, Dale Hansen & wife Charlene of Soldotna, AK; granddaughters, Seena Hansen of Tumwater, WA, and Tresha Jackson & husband Ty of Soldotna, AK; sister, Evelyn Johnson of Bellingham; brothers, Keith, Dick and Franklin Adams all of Western Washington; and numerous nieces and nephews, and other relatives. HANSEN, Birger C., age 56 years, of 2331 Iron St., passed away suddenly at a local hospital Sunday, July 13, (1952). Mr. Hansen had been a resident of Bellingham for the past 28 years and was employed as a fisherman by the Pacific American Fisheries for the past 28 years. He was a member of the Alaska Fisherman's Union. Mr. Hansen is survived by his wife, Hansine J.; one son, Harry, one daughter, Bjorg Dunn; three grandchildren, all of Bellingham; and one brother and four sisters in Norway. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, July 16, at 2 p.m. within the Cathedral Chapel of the Westford-Beck Funeral Home with the Rev. Elvin S. HANSEN, Carl Fred, age 89, formerly of 1012 Liberty St., passed away in Oroville, Calif., Monday, January 24, (1966). A fifty-nine year resident of this city, Mr. Hansen was employed by The Bellingham Herald for forty-eight years before retiring. He was a member of the Sterotypers International Union, and of the Danish Brotherhood. Survivors are two sons, Harry of Mukilteo, Wash.; Maurice of San Diego, Calif.; a daughter, Mrs. Marthine Urik of Detroit, Michigan; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and a brother Chris in Norwich, Conn. Services will be conducted Monday, January 31, at 3 p.m. at the Jones Funeral Home. Cremation will follow.
HANSEN, Carl Kris, age 89, of Des Moines, Washington passed away in that city Thursday, October 21, 1982. He was born Aug. 11, 1893 in Tranekar, Denmark. He was a machinist & a WWII Army Veteran. Mr. Hansen is survived by sisters, Karen Hansen, Anna Rasmussen, Petra Jensen & Emilia Nielsen, all of Denmark; several cousins including Howard Tawes of Mt. HANSEN, Chris, age 76 years, passed away Sunday, August 26, (1945). Mr. Hansen was a native of Denmark and a resident of Ferndale for the past 25 years. He was formerly a member of the Ferndale City Council and just one year ago he and Mrs. Hansen celebrated their golden wedding anniversary. He is survived by his widow, Christine; two daughters, Mrs. E. E. Tidball, of Carstairs, Alberta, and Mrs. Edna Dowel, of Didsbury, Alberta; one son, William P. Hansen, of Ferndale, and five grandchildren. The body rests at the Monroe Funeral Home, in Ferndale where funeral services will be conducted Friday, August 31 at 2:30 p.m. Interment in Greenacres Memorial Park.
HANSEN, Chris S., age 80, of 1424 Grant St. passed away in a local hospital Sunday, May 21, (1961). Mr. Hansen had been a 58 year resident of this community; was a retired painting contractor; was a member of the Central Lutheran Church; a life member of the Painters and Decorators Union; and was a life member of the Danish Brotherhood. Surviving relatives are his widow, Karen, at home; one daughter, Mrs. Ella Grimlund of Seattle; one son, Harry, of Everett; four grandchildren and one great grandchild; one brother, Marius and one sister, Miss Sophia Hansen both in Denmark. HANSEN, Christian N. - Funeral services for World War I veteran Christian N. Hansen will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Greenacres Funeral Home Chapel. Mr. Hansen, 92, of 1530 James St., died Thursday (Feb. 4, 1988) in Bellingham. He had served with the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers in Europe during the war. After the war he worked at the Kaiser/Olympic Cement Co., which later became Columbia Cement. He was born April 13, 1895, in Preston, Idaho, but lived most of his life in Bellingham and Whatcom County. He was a member of William Matthews Post 1585, Veterans of Foreign Wars. Survivors include a son, Wallace W. Hansen of Salem, Ore.; three stepsons, Guy Partlow of Seattle, Gerald Partlow of Bellingham and Bruce Partlow of Detroit, Mich.; a brother, Harry Hansen of Bellingham; a sister, May Ferch of Seattle; 17 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be followed by entombment at Greenacres Mausoleum. Arrangements are by Jones Funeral Home.
HANSEN, Christine, age 75, who resided at 2268 Smith Road, passed away in a local hospital Saturday, March 14, (1959) following an extended illness. Mrs. Hansen had resided in Bellingham the past 36 years and was a member of the Lutheran Church. She leaves to survive her husband, Conrad of the family home; two sons, John of Coos Bay, Ore., Harold of Custer; also two daughters, Mrs. Clarice Dice of Bellingham, Mrs. Myrtle Lahr, Sacramento, Calif.; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren. Rev. Albert C. Tinberg will officiate at funeral services on Tuesday, March 17 at 2 o'clock in the Chapel of Bingham and Jerns Funeral Home, followed by cremation.

Hansen of Ferndale; 1 sister, Mrs. Sena Grant in Alberta; 5 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren. HANSEN, Claire, of Lynden, passed away Thursday, May 9, 2002, in Lynden. She was 91. Born July 11, 1910 to James R. & Clara (Page) Turner, in Bellingham, WA. After many years in Bellingham, she spent time in California & Arizona, serving as a caregiver to persons in their private homes. She was active in women's ministries & various church activities and was a longtime member of the Calvary Temple. Her love of poetry led her to write and publish two small books of her own works. Survivors include: a son, James E. Hansen of Tucson, AZ a daughter, Patricia N. Knapp of Lynden six grandchildren, and 13 great grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be Tuesday, May 14, 1:00 p.m., at the Christian Health Care Center Chapel, 855 Aaron Dr., Lynden. Her grandson, the Reverend Martin Knapp will officiate. She was born March 20, 1889 in Seattle and was a homemaker and member of the Sunrise Baptist Church. Survivors include a daughter, Mabel Reid of Bellingham; two sons, Maynard Hansen of Bellingham and Howard Hansen of Lynden; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. At her request, there will be no services. Cremation and burial of ashes will be at Greenacres Memorial Park. Arrangements are by Greenacres Funeral Home.

Mr. Hansen had been a resident of Custer most of his lifetime and was a veteran of World War II having served with the U.S. Army. Survived by one daughter, Miss Myrna Hansen of Bellingham, his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Iver Hansen of Custer; one sister, Mrs. Joanne Hardy of LaGrande, Ore.; two brothers, Alvin of Custer, and Earl of Seattle; numerous other relatives. HANSEN, Clifford H., who lived in Bellingham for 62 years, died Tuesday, (June 30, 1987) in Bellingham. Mr. Hansen 76, 923 Newell St., was born Oct. 4, 1910 in Two Harbors, Minn. Survivors include three sisters, Hanna Burchland and Ellen Peel, both of Bellingham, and Myrtle Markhart of Yakima; two brothers, Erling Hansen and Bert Hansen, both of Bellingham; and numerous nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be at 1:30 p.m. today at Bayview Cemetery, with Paul Elvig officiating. Arrangements by Jones Funeral Home.
HANSEN, Constance Castle Fravel (Mrs. William D. Hansen) died May 21, 2004. She was born to Charles and Josephine Taylor Castle on August 4, 1911. Connie attended Carleton College in Northfield, Minnesota and the University of Washington where she was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta Sorority. She was also a member of PEO, Chapter AB, American Contract Bridge League, and Bellingham Golf and Country Club. Connie is survived by her son Maris T. Fravel and his wife Judy of San Francisco and Michigan; daughters Glenna Hansen of the family home, Heidi Suni and her husband Peter of Bellingham, Julie Hansen of Monterey, California; and her step-daughter Anya Flesh and her husband Marty of Chapala, Jalisco, Mexico. Connie's grandchildren are Behan Gifford and her husband Jamie of Bainbridge Island, Taylor Fravel and his wife Anna of San Francisco, Allen Sybrant and his wife Emily of Salt Lake City, Kent Sybrant of Phoenix, Bryn and Claire Suni of Bellingham and Maeve Murphy of Monterey; and her great-grandchildren Niall, Mairen and Siobhan Gifford and Hayden and Lilly Sybrant. Connie is also survived by her beloved cousin Margaret Josephine Morrison (Peggy Jo) of Portland, Oregon, and many friends too numerous to count. Connie raised her family on Middlefield Road in Bellingham. When the children were grown, she and Bill moved to Viewcrest where they had many happy years. At Connie's request, a private family service will be held.

Mrs. Hansen was a retired licensed practical nurse and had resided in Bellingham since 1950. She was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church of Bellingham. She is survived by one son, James H. of Mt. View, Calif.; two daughters, Ruth M. Long of Ferndale and Dorothy A. Studley of Hollywood, Calif.; a brother, Kenneth *Huskop of Sidney, B.C.; seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Burial was under the direction of Moles Funeral Home.

She was born Feb. 23, 1915, in Hanaford, N.D. She graduated from Bellingham High School in 1934, and moved to Tacoma in 1940. She was a retired accounting clerk for Tacoma City Light. She is survived by her husband, Earl, a brother and two grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Friday at Piper Funeral Home, Tacoma. Entombment will follow in Tacoma Mausoleum.
HANSEN, Eberhart W. (Mike), age 49, 3024 Meridian Street, passed away in a local hospital Thursday, June 20, (1963). A lifetime resident of Bellingham, Mr. Hansen was formerly employed by the Bay Shore Lumber Co.; was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church at Lawrence; a veteran of World War II, and a member of the Disabled American Veterans. Survivors are his widow, Irene, at home; one daughter, Miss Molly Jean Hansen and two sons, Russell and Rodney, all at home; three sisters, Mrs. Evelyn Johnson, and Mrs. Louis Mezo, both of Bellingham; Mrs. Aagot Gooding, Beaver, Wash.; two brothers, Avin Hansen, Bothell; Henry Hansen, Deming, and nieces and nephews. The remains rest at the Jones Funeral Home where services will be conducted by Pastor E. M. Bremer Tuesday, June 25 at 10:30 a.m. followed by burial in Immanuel Cemetery at Lawrence.

HANSEN, Edward William, age 50 years, of Acme, passed away in a local hospital Saturday, January 15, (1955). Mr. Hansen had been a resident of Whatcom County for the past 24 years and for the past two years had resided at Acme. HANSEN, Elmer Duane, 79, of Retsil in Pierce County, who was educated in Bellingham, died July 20, (1989), of respitory failure at a veteran's retirement home in Retsil. He was born July 9, 1910, in Sumas. Mr. Hansen was educated in Bellingham and was a graduate of the University of Washington. He had been employed in the design section of Hughes Aircraft in California. Survivors include a son, Blaine D. Hansen of Sacramento, Calif.; two grandchildren; and an aunt, R. B. Elliott of Summerland, B.C.
HANSEN, Eloise W., widow of Major General Floyd Allan Hansen, died in her home in Arlington, VA, on July 30, 1990, following a lengthy illness. Mrs. Hansen was born June 16, 1913, the daughter of Mabel Amanda Paine and John Hamilton White, of Brockport, NY. She met Floyd Hansen, the son of Lende and Zina Hansen of Bellingham, when he was a cadet at the U.S. Military Academy at Westpoint, NY. She traveled to Washington state to marry him at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Bellingham on Feb. 28, 1933 - prior to her marriage, Mrs. Hansen had never been out of her home state of New York. Mrs. Hansen was preceded in death by her husband on May 24, 1986. For the past twenty years, Mrs. Hansen divided her time between her primary residence in Virginia and her summer home in Bellingham. She was a avid gardener who loved the Pacific Northwest. Mrs. Hansen leaves behind one daughter, Gail Chamblin Fox of Bellingham; and a grandson, Anson W. Chamblin, of Seattle. One grandson, David M. Chamblin, preceded her in death on Sept. 28, 1980. Mrs. Hansen also leaves behind her sister, Dorothy W. O'Donnell of East Rochester, NY, and her brother John Hamilton White of Brockport, NY. She was born February 1, 1903, in Denmark, to Hans & Marie Andersen Kruse. They moved to Canada in 1915 from Denmark, and then in 1920, moved to Blaine, WA, where she married William P. Hansen, April 18, 1930. Mrs. Hansen was a member of the United Church of Ferndale and the American Legion Auxiliary; Kulshan Post #154, Ferndale. Mr. Hansen preceded her in death on December 26, 1991. She leaves to survive one son, Robert E. She was a member of the Hopewell Community Church, the Hopewell Grange and the Lawrence Home Demonstration Club. She is survived by her husband, Tony; a son, Jerry of Everson; a daughter, Mrs. Sonia and husband Gene Smith of Bellingham; three grandchildren, Cheryl, Robby and Jamie Smith; a brother Roy Nockols of Costa Mesa, Calif.; a sister Mrs. Mabel Reed of Philipsburg, Montana; brother-in-law, Clarence Hansen and wife Louise of Mt. Vernon; sisters-in-law, Mrs. Ruth Johnson of Lynnwood and Mrs. Marie Knutson of Orange, Calif.; and numerous nieces and nephews. "Oley", 77, a native of Sumas who became the top officer of the U.S. Army Munitions Command, was buried with honors Friday in Arlington National Cemetery. He died May 24 in Arlington, VA., his winter residence. Gen. Hansen was born Oct. 22, 1908, the son of sled-builder and logger Hans Soren Hansen and Zena Lee Hansen. He graduated from Whatcom High School in 1926 and entered the U.S. Military Academy in 1928. A 1932 graduate of, Gen. Hansen's first assignment was with the horse-drawn 10th Field Artillery, based at Fort Lewis. From there, he went on to earn a master's degree from Massachusetts Institute of Technology and developed a new process in the synthesis of munitions products. During World War II, Gen. Hansen served in stateside assignments, was involved in the Normandy invasion, and was ordnance officer under Gen. Douglas MacArthur in the Philippines campaign. He was named commander of the U.S. Army Munitions Command in 1962 and retired from active duty in 1967. His decorations include the Distinguished Service Medal, Legion of Merit, the Army Commendation Medal, as well as the Belgian Order of Leopold, with Palm, and the Croix de Guerre, with Palm. Gen. Hansen is a member of the Ordnance Hall of Fame and was presented with the West Point Scroll at retirement. Survivors include his wife, Elois (sic), of the family home; a daughter, Gail Fox, of Bellingham; a grandson, David Chamblin, of Seattle; a brother, Elmer Hansen, of Seattle; and numerous cousins in Washington and Canada. Another grandson, David Chamblin, died earlier.
HANSEN, Freda, age 59, of 126 Ashley St., passed away in a local hospital Saturday, Jan. 10, (1953). Mrs. Hansen had resided in this community for the past 50 years and was a member of the German Lutheran Church. Surviving relatives are her husband, Andrew M., at home; two sons, William and Harold, both of Bellingham; one daughter, Mrs. Carlton Rupert Peele, of Norfolk, Va.; two grandchildren, Carlton R. HANSEN, Harold Norman, age 41, of 1040 Sunset Boulevard, Los Angeles, California, passed away at his home Monday, June 16, (1952). Mr. Hansen had resided in Los Angeles for the past nine months and had previously been a resident here for many years. He was a commercial fisherman and was a member of the Cordova Fishermen's Union, Cordova, Alaska and the American Legion, Albert J. Hamilton Post No. 7. He leaves to survive, his father, Henning N. Hanson, of this city; four brothers, Lawrence H., of this city; Hagbert A., in Arizona; Berger S. Hansen of American Lake, Washington and Walter N. Haines, of Lake Hughes, Calif.; two sisters, Mrs. Selma Eschenbacher, of Havre, Montana and Mrs. Esther N. Drake, of Sacramento, California. HANSEN, Harry A., of Bellingham died Tuesday, March 29, 1994, at Sehome Park Care Center. He was 91. Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Friday in Bayview Cemetery with the Rev. James Stender officiating. Born Jan. 3, 1903, to Nels and Jensine Hansen, Mr. Hansen was a U.S. Army veteran. He worked as a pile driver in Alaska and as an electrician for Kaiser Cement in Bellingham. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lena Hansen. Survivors include sister-in-law Wella Hansen; nephews Keith Bakke, James Hansen and Wallace Hansen; and nieces Patricia Knapp, Lorena Gambill and Anetta Kale, all of Oregon. HANSEN, Henry Arnold, age 73, of 819 Kentucky St., passed away in a local hospital Thursday, April 2, (1959). He had resided in Bellingham for 61 years, was a retired mechanic and had been employed by Diamond B for many years. He was a member of Bellingham Bay Lodge No. 44, F.&A.M. Surviving are one brother, Oluf P. Hansen and one sister, Mrs. Emma Peterson, both of Bellingham; numerous nieces and nephews. HANSEN, James Howard, of Battle Ground died Saturday, Sept. 24, 1994, of a heart attack at his home. He was 70. A family memorial service was held in Battle Ground. Born Oct. 19, 1923, to Howard F. and Dorothy E. Hansen near Dillingham, Alaska, he moved with his family to Bellingham in 1925. He attended high school at Auburn Academy in Auburn. He worked in Alaska with the U.S. Coast Guard and Geodetic Survey before joining the U.S. Marine Corps. He served as a crewman aboard a Mitchell B-25 bomber in the Pacific during World War II. Mr. Hansen married Evelyn Rogers on Sept. 4, 1947, in Tacoma. He graduated from Walla Walla College in 1952. He taught school in Sequim, Port Angeles and at Navajo Mission School in Holbrook, Ariz. He lived in Mountain View, Calif., where he worked in sales. After retirement, he moved to Hamilton, Mont., and then to Battle Ground. He was a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. Survivors include his wife of the family home; sons Dennis Hansen of Folsom, Calif., and David Hansen of Caldwell, Idaho; daughter Kathleen Keller of Oregon City, Ore.; sisters Ruth M. Long of Ferndale and Dorothy A. Zuege of Lynnwood; six grandchildren; and numerous other relatives.
HANSEN, James J., Sr., age 85 of Bellingham, passed away August 25, 2005. He was born January 15, 1920, in Chignik, AK, to Lars and Nancy (Anderson) Hansen. Jim served in the U.S. Air Force in WWII. He was preceded in death by his sister, Minnie Muir and two brothers, Danny and Howard Hansen. Jim is survived by his wife, Elsie Hansen; daughter Judy (husband Richard) Overcash of Snohomish; son James Jr. (wife Kathy) Hansen of Briar; daughter Kristi (husband Bob) Hill of Vancouver, WA; son Kenneth Hansen of Briar; daughter Jeannie McLain of Bellingham; daughter Carmen (husband Larry) Davis of Lynden; special grandson Jeff (wife Katy) Hansen of Seattle; brothers Lars Hansen of Farmington, NM, and Morris Hansen of Seattle; sisters Dora (husband Bob) Burns of Eau Claire, WI, Peggy (husband John) Monfort of Flagstaff, AZ, and Molly Callahan of Seattle; beloved niece Betty Jane Quay; eight grandchildren. A Celebration of Jim's Life will be held at Westford Funeral Home on Wednesday, August 31 at 1:00 p.m. with full military honors by American Legion Post #7.

HANSEN, John L. of 2714 Walnut St. died Saturday, Dec. 4, 1993, at Alderwood Park Convalescent Center. He was 76. Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church with the Revs. Kirk Madsen and Ben Pruitt officiating. Born June 5, 1917, to Frank and Lue Hansen in Bellingham, he graduated from Bellingham High School in 1936. Mr. Hansen worked for Bellingham Furniture until 1942, and served in the National Guard from 1936 to 1939. He entered the U.S. Army in 1942, serving as a medic until 1945. After discharge from the Army, he worked for Brooks Lumber for 26 years until retiring in 1979. He married Jewell "Judy" Kriedl on Dec. 1, 1977. Mr. Hansen and his wife joined The Good Sam Club, traveled with the organization and attended state meetings and two international meetings. Survivors include his wife of the family home; sons Robert L. Hansen of Landstuhl, Germany, and John W. Hansen of Bellingham; grandchildren Tara Hansen and John Wayne Hansen Jr.; and niece Kathy Hall. Arrangements by Westford Funeral Home.

HANSEN, Kenneth Arthur - Memorial services for Kenneth Arthur, 59, a member of the Bellingham Eagles club, will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Jerns & LeVeck Funeral Chapel. Mr. Hansen, of 304 E. Laurel Road, was a 14-year resident of Bellingham. He died Tuesday in a Seattle hospital of complications following heart survey. He was born Dec. 29, 1929 in Waterloo, Iowa. He was married 32 years ago in Roseburg, Ore., and he and his wife, Darlene, lived in Alaska and Montana before moving to Bellingham in 1975. Formerly a meatcutter at Cost Cutter Foods, Mr. Hansen was a football enthusiast and also enjoyed deep-sea fishing. Survivors include his wife; four sons, Gregory Alvin Hansen of Bellingham, Charles Eugene Hansen of Longview, Curtis Allen Hansen of Pocatello, Idaho, and Jeff Hansen Myers of Clarksville, Iowa; four daughters, Diane Kaye Kremenich of Everett, Pamela Jean McKenzie of Bellingham, Penny Lynn Hansen of Bellingham and Kathy Folkerts of Waterloo, Iowa; three brothers, Donald C. Hansen of Fallon, Nev., Lloyd Hansen of Sunnyvale, Calif., and Jerry Hansen of St. Regis, Mont.; nine grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

HANSEN, Marguerite "Maggie" 86, of 1400 12th, Bellingham, passed away at St. Joseph Hospital, on Saturday, April 17, 1993. She was born on October 17, 1906 in Bellingham to Horton and Lila Holcomb. She attended Roeder Grade School and Whatcom High School. On March 14, 1925 she married Ragnar Hansen in Seattle, WA. In 1935 they moved to Ketchikan, Alaska where she worked as a business agent for The Alaska Cannery Workers Union. In 1945 they moved back to Bellingham and Maggie will be best remembered as a waitress at the Alpine Restaurant. In 1947 Ragnar Hansen passed away. Her hobbies were bowling, volunteer work, embroidering, avid sports fan and liked working in the kitchen at Chuckanut Square. Everyone will remember her for her sense of humor and warm smile. She is survived by a son, Ralph Hansen and wife Dorothy of Bellingham; four daughters, Lila and husband Salvador delFierro of Seattle, Jeannette and husband James Mill of Federal Way, Ailene and husband Robert Bailey of Seattle and Lecil and husband Larry Nienaber of Auburn; 14 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. HANSEN, Marlene - Services were Wednesday in Puyallup for Marlene Hansen, 51, a former Bellingham resident who operated a neighborhood grocery in the Birchwood district. Burial was in Sumner Cemetery. She was [a] Puyallup resident. She died Sunday (March 24, 1985). Born in Portal, N.D., she had lived in Puyallup for a number of years until coming to Bellingham in the 1970s. She and her husband, Howard K. Hansen. operated Carter's Grocery on Patton Street for several years and returned to Puyallup about 1980. She is survived by her husband, two sons, three daughters, two grandchildren, a brother and a sister.
HANSEN, Matilda J. (Tillie), age 79 of Bellingham, died Tuesday, March 22, 1983. She was a 55 year resident of this area, having moved here from Avon in 1910; she graduated from St. Luke's Nursing School in 1926 and was a nurse there for many years. HANSEN, Maynard H. - At his request, there will be no services for Maynard H. Hansen, 82, a lifelong resident of Bellingham. Mr. Hansen, 3901 Cedarbrook Court, died Sunday (Oct. 8, 1989) at home. He was born March 30, 1907, in Bellingham. Mr. Hansen, a former logger, was a member of First Church of Christ Scientist in Bellingham. Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Adele; two daughters, Elrae Morgenthaler of Woodinville and Lois Kveven of Bellingham; a sister, Mabel Reid of Bellingham; a brother, Howard Hansen of Lynden; three granddaughters; one great-grandchild; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. HANSEN, Mildred D., age 84, of Bellingham, died Thursday, August 5, 1993 at Bellingham Care Center. She was born November 20, 1908 in Merritt, B.C., Canada, to Fredrick and Lillian Marshall. Mildred was the last of 10 children. She spent her childhood on Whidby Is. She married Carl H. Hansen November 8, 1930 in Seattle, WA. They lived in Bellingham all her married life. She loved her animals and garden with many beautiful flowers. She was a great lover of nature and mother earth. She resided at 4144 James St. Rd. until 3 yrs. ago when she became ill. HANSEN, Peder E., age 77, of 1201 W. North Street, passed away in a local hospital Friday, November 12, (1954). Mr. Hansen had made his home here for the past three years and had previously resided in Seattle and in the East. He was a retired carpenter and was a member of the Lutheran Church. HANSEN, Percival Clinton "Doc" of Birch Bay died Saturday May 3, 1997 in Bellingham at St. Joseph Hospital. He was 76. A Remembrance Service will be at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday May 8 at Jerns-LeVeck Funeral Home preceded by burial at Greenacres Memorial Park. Born Feb. 1, 1921 to Hans P. and Ethelyn Tidwell Hansen in Stanwood, he was raised and educated in Olympia. He received a BA degree in music from Washington State University and was a member of the first graduating class of the University of Washington School of Dentistry in 1950. He practiced Dentistry in Whatcom County from 1950 until his retirement in 1985. A World War II veteran, Dr. Hansen served in the army during the liberation of the Philippines and was awarded several medals including the Bronze Star, Silver Star and Purple Heart. He married Margaret Young in Lynden on June 19, 1948. He was a long time member of the Masonic Order being a Past Master of Kulshan Lodge in Blaine. He was also a member of the Bellingham Bay Lodge in Bellingham. He served two Grand Masters as their Deputy in the local Masonic District. He was a member of the Masonic Widows and Orphans group. He was very active in the Scottish Rite Valley of Bellingham and was a 33rd Degree Mason in that Order. He was President of the Scottish Rite's Scholarship Program for Washington State. He was Past President of the local Masonic Junior Achievement Award Program, which honors outstanding high school juniors and some with college scholarships. He also was a Shriner, belonging to Nile Temple in Seattle. A member of Washington Club since early 1960 and served as president, he looked forward to Friday lunch with the "boys". He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, visiting with friends, and expressing his opinion. He is survived by his wife Margaret of the family home, daughter Ann Tjoelker and husband Earl of Everson, son Pete Hansen and wife Sandy of Birch Bay, brother Loren A. Hansen of Olympia. Grandchildren Carl Wilson, Chris and Cortney Hansen, Megan and Tanya Tjoelker and great granddaughter Bridget Wilson. HANSEN, Percy, age 75, 8272 Kickerville Rd., Blaine, passed away suddenly at home Monday, Oct. 20, (1975). He had been a lifetime resident of Whatcom County and served with the U.S. Army in WWII. HANSEN, Phyllis, 76, of 1500 W. North St., Bellingham, passed away on Friday, October 19, (1991) at Providence Hospital in Seattle. Mrs. Hansen was born Phyllis Friend Day on June 3, 1915 on a ranch near Christina, Montana. Her parents were Frank and Gertrude Day. She came with her family to Bellingham in 1925. In 1936 she married Arne Breivick. Arne died in 1975. Together they worked in Alaska for several years at the Crow Creek Gold mine. They came back to Bellingham and Phyllis worked at The Downtowner restaurant in the Bellingham National Bank Building. She and Arne ran several restaurants during the next twenty years: The Summit, The Cedar Chest, the golf course restaurant at Birch Bay. About 1970, they became part owners of Victors, a ladies clothing store in Bellingham. Phyllis enjoyed cooking and knitting. She belonged to the Stamp and Coin Club and the Altrusa Club. She loved people, her work, and was devoted to her family. In 1977, Phyllis married Capt. Andy Hansen. Phyllis and Andy were members of the Bellingham Yacht Club and the Wheel and Keel Club. They were avid power boaters and owned the boat "Midnatsol". They were the Bellingham Yacht Club Boating Family of the Year in 1989. She is survived by her husband, two brothers, Frank Day of Bellingham and George W. Day of Lummi Island, and five nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Wednesday, October 23, 1991 at 2 p.m. at Greenacres Memorial Park. A reception will follow at the Bellingham Yacht Club at 3:30 p.m.
HANSEN, Ralph B., 77, passed away at home in Bullhead City, Arizona, September 1, 2006. He was born to Ragnar A. Hansen and Marguerite Holcomb Hansen November 6, 1928 in Bellingham. He attended Lowell Grade School and Whatcom Junior High School. His family moved to Ketchikan, Alaska in his teen years, where he worked in the fishing industry and delivered newspapers. The family moved back to Bellingham after his father's death in 1947. Ralph attended Bellingham High School for his senior year. He worked in the tire business for many years in the Seattle area. He moved back to Bellingham in 1983 and worked for Whatcom Tire Company in Ferndale until he retired in 1994. Ralph married Dorothy Browne Perdue June 9, 1984. They moved to Bullhead City, Arizona in 1997. Ralph is survived by his wife Dorothy; 2 stepdaughters, Margaret Perdue Nunez of Marysville, Washington, Charlotte Perdue Kelly of Mt. Home, Idaho; 4 grandchildren Steeven and Jason Nunez and Megan and Matthew Kelly; 4 sisters Lila del Fierro, Alene Bailey of the Seattle area, Jeanette Austin of Grapeview, Wash., Lecil Nienaber of Yuma, Arizona; and numerous friends and relatives. HANSEN, Ronna Lee (Barbee), age 67, was called home on Sunday, September 2, 2007 to be with her savior, her dear husband John and her parents after a very long, courageous battle of multiple health problems. Ronna Lee was born December 14, 1939 in Toppenish, WA to Ronald and Geraldine Mary (Walters) Barbee. She moved to Garfield, WA in 1949 and then to Colfax, WA in 1950. Ronna Lee attended Colfax Public High School where she won many awards in competitive Badminton. She was a 4-year letterman, all over Inland Empire. She attended Eastern Washington University where she was in the Honors program and was tapped for SPURS. After college she went to work for Pioneer Title Company in Spokane, Colfax and Davenport. In 1967 she married John Ericson Setwick Hansen. They moved to Bellingham, WA and later to Lynden, WA where they made their home with their two children. She worked with the Title 1 program at the Lynden Public School and was Vice-President of Title 1. She was an amazing artist and worked with Chinese painting, Indian wood carving and stained glass. She was also an amazing gourmet cook. She published her own cookbook for her children and family. Ronna Lee enjoyed being hostess to her husband's company Christmas parties, gardening and canning. Her main interest throughout life was her husband and children. She was a member of Garden Street United Methodist Church where she did volunteer work and made many contributions. Ronna Lee is survived by her two children and their families; Kristine Elizabeth (Hansen) Parrish and her husband Chris, their daughters, Jadwyn and Tennisyn; Heidi Patricia Lynn (Hansen) Sorensen and her husband Rick, their sons Luke and Evan; two sisters, Joeanne Sarver and her husband Larry, Sheilah Murphy and her husband Melvin; Brother Jeff Barbee and his wife Susie. A potluck dinner will be held Tuesday, September 25, 2007 at 5 p.m. at the Lynden City Park Facility.

HANSEN, Selene, age 51 years, of Rt. 2, Mount Vernon, passed away at a Bellingham hospital Friday, Nov. 29, (1953). She was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Leander, a pioneer resident of Skagit County, and was born in Roxbury, Kan., May 20, 1902. She came to Washington with her parents as a small child and had resided in Mount Vernon since. She was a graduate of Mount Vernon Union High School. Mrs. Hansen was a registered nurse, having received her training at St. Luke's hospital. In June, 1929, she was married to Ole X. Hansen. She was a member of the Salem Lutheran Church of Mount Vernon, the Skagit County Nurses' Association, and the St. Luke's Alumnae. Surviving relatives include the widow, Signe, at home; one son, Oscar Hansen, of Bellingham; a granddaughter, Mrs. Robert Taylor, of Alameda, Calif.; two great-grandchildren, and a brother, Haakon Hansen, of Route No. 3, Bellingham. The remains rest at the funeral home of Harlow-Hollingsworth. Services will be conducted from the Emanuel Lutheran Church by Pastor Judson L. Crary, Wednesday, July 23, at _:30 p.m. Final resting place, Emanuel Cemetery.
HANSEN, Thomas L., 77, a former resident and professor emeritus of the University of Colorado School of Environmental Design, died April 1, (1981) in Colorado. He was born March 14, 1904, in Bellingham. He received degrees in architecture from the University of Oregon and Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He also studied at Harvard University, and received a master's degree in city planning from Columbia University. In 1952, he was appointed head of the Colorado University Department of Architecture and Architectural Engineering. He also taught a the Overseas Education Institute in Grenoble, France, at Washington State University, North Dakota State University, and the University of Washington. He married Helen Locy, Sept. 25, 1929, in Bellingham, and lived for 20 years before retiring to Denver in 1974. He is survived by his wife, a son, a sister, and two grandchildren. Mass of Christian Burial was held April 4 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, Boulder, Colo. Burial followed in Boulder's Green Mountain Cemetery.

HANSEN, Tony - Our beloved Father and grandfather, Tony Hansen, died peacefully in his sleep at the home of his son in Everson, the evening of Friday, October 1, 1993 the day after his 90th birthday. He was born Antonius J. on September 30, 1903 in Wabay, South Dakota, one of 6 children born to Peter and Anne (Nyhus) Hansen. He moved with his family to the Lawrence-Hopewell area at the age of 3. Tony spent his working years as a logger and berry grower. In Bellingham, September 14, 1935 he was married to his beloved May Nichols and she preceded her husband in death on August 6, 1986. Tony will be deeply missed by his loving family of son Jerry Hansen of Everson and daughter Sonia Smith and husband Gene of Bellingham; two granddaughters, Cheryl Fletcher and husband Rory of Auburn and Jaime Smith of Bellingham; grandson Rob Smith of Bellingham; brother, Clarence Hansen of Costa Mesa, CA and numerous nieces and nephews. Besides his wife, he was also preceded in death by his parents, 3 sisters and 1 brother. Graveside Services will be held in Greenacres Memorial Park on Tuesday, October 5, at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Karen Dodson officiating. Services and arrangements under the care of Gillies Funeral Home of Lynden.
HANSEN, Toralf, age 41, of Route 2, Lynden, passed away at a local hospital, Sunday, February 22, (1953) following a short illness. Mr. Hansen had been a resident of Bellingham for the past 44 years and was a well known fisherman and carpenter. He was a member of the Central Lutheran Church and of the Laurel Grange and the Whatcom County Dairymen's Association. Surviving are his wife, Annie; two daughters, Mrs. Arlene Olund and Mrs. June Ballard, both of Bellingham; four grandchildren; two brothers, Arthur Hansen of this city, and one brother in Norway; three sisters, Mrs. Esther Hansen, of New Westminster, B.C.; two sisters in Norway. Funeral services will be conducted Friday, Feb. 27, at 1:30 p.m. within the Cathedral Chapel of the Westford-Beck Funeral Home, with the Rev. Oscar Jacobson officiating. Interment Bay View Cemetery.
HANSEN, Vera Noreen, age 96 of Bellingham, WA, passed away July 30, 2002 at St. Joseph Hospital. She was born August 19, 1905 in Bellingham, WA to Louis and Lulie (Pugh) Dollenjack. She graduated from Whatcom High School in 1923 and from Bellingham Normal School in 1925. Vera married Archie Hansen June 1928 in Bellingham. He preceded her in death in 1967. She taught elementary school in Steven's County, Tuttle River School in Cowlitz Co. and Roeder Elementary in Bellingham. Vera and her husband Archie lived aboard their boat for several years early in their marriage. They owned and operated 2 taverns in downtown Bellingham during the 1930's. She was a member of the Mt. Baker Hiking Club since 1975 and enjoyed hiking, traveling all over the world and gardening. Survived by her nephews, Ron Hansen and wife Michaele of Bellingham, Stan Harris of Surrey, B.C.; niece Betty Holden of California; special friends, Lynn and Bob Mortensen, Charlotte and Doug Doolittle and Jo Simsick.
HANSEN, Vernice White, 83 years, of Seattle passed away in Ferndale on Fri., Aug. 27, 1993. She was born in Ferndale, Sept. 9, 1909 to Ella May and Clinton White. She was a Ferndale High School graduate class of 1929; lived in Ferndale until moving to Seattle in 1936. In 1935 she married Otto F. Hansen of Sedro Woolley. Shortly after their marriage her husband sold his car and hitchhiked to Seattle in search of work. Vernice later joined him and together they founded the Far West Taxi Service of Seattle. After her husband's retirement as Inspector for the Seattle Transit System, they spent their summers operating their Charter boats in Westport. Otto preceded her in death in 1986 and her sister Evelyn White preceded her in death in June 1993. Through her high spiritedness and boundless energy, a heart of generosity and gentleness shone through. She is survived by one brother Willis White of Custer, three sisters Lura and Ed Roddy, Lilah Haynes, all of Seattle, and Charlotte Olson of Ferndale and numerous nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held Thursday, Sept. 2, at 2:00 p.m. at Enterprise Cemetery with Dr. Wilfred Gunderson officiating. Arrangements by Moles Funeral Home, Ferndale.
HANSEN, Virginia E. - Private family services will be held for Virginia E. Hansen, 71, of 2500 Samish Way, who died Friday at St. Joseph Hospital. She was born July 24, 1918, in Albany, Ore., and married Elvin E. Hansen on June 10, 1938. She has lived in Whatcom County for eight years. Mrs. Hansen was a graduate of Albany High School. She sold shoes for years for J.C. Penney Co. Inc. in Kirkland. Survivors in addition to her husband include: two sons, Richard of Bellingham and Donald of Blaine; a brother, Robert Severstein, of Oregon; three sisters, Helen Sarrar, Ethel Girst and Effie Packard of Albany; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. HANSEN, Walter Robert, age 52, of 3215 Northwest Ave., passed away at home. Mr. Hansen had resided in Whatcom County for the past 31 years and was a farm worker. HANSEN, Wilbert E., age 65 of 802 Autumn Lane passes away Tue. Dec. 5, 1978. Mr. Hansen was a life resident of B'ham. Member of the Central Lutheran Church and past master of Whatcom Lodge No. 151, F & AM and past patron of Maple Leaf Chapter of OES, he was a retired jeweler. He leaves to survive his wife, Ruth of the family home, 3 daughters, Mrs. Linda Lee McIvor (George) of Tacoma, Mrs. Charolette Hiat (Michael) of Seattle, Mrs. Lori Smolik (Stuart) of Lynnwood. 4 grandchildren, a step mother, Mrs. Caroline Hansen of city, 1 brother Raymond of Renton, 2 sisters, Mrs. Helen Durrant of Hoquiam, Miss Marjorie Hansen of city. Family services will be conducted Thurs. Dec. 2, at 1 p.m. in the chapel of the Westford Funeral Home with the Rev. Leonard Ericksen officiating.
HANSEN, William P., age 96, #134 2818 Old Fairhaven Parkway, Bellingham, formerly of Ferndale, passed away in Bellingham Thurs., Dec. 26, 1991. He was born Mar. 10, 1895 in Duluth, MN. He came to Ferndale in 1926 and married Emma Kruse in Blaine on April 18, 1930. He worked in the feed business for 11 years, had a milk truck and contracted to haul milk for Carnation for 8 years, then he had a state liquor store for 9 years. He was a member and past Commander of the Ferndale Post #154 of the American Legion. He was also a member of the Bellingham 40 et 8. He is survived by his wife Emma Hansen of the family home; a son Robert E. and wife Dixie Hansen of Bellingham, 3 grandchildren Douglas and wife Debbie Hansen of Bellingham, Richard Hansen of Seattle, and Karen Petersen and husband Linton of Port Orchard; 3 great grandchildren Kyle, Katelin and Dane; also numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Saturday, Dec. 28, 10:00 a.m. at Moles Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Richard Wyanski officiating. Private burial will take place at a later date at Greenacres Memorial Park.
