Burlington: Ullery Publishing Company, 1912, p 252 Frank Edward LOWE was born 15 January 1864 at Fitchburg [Worchester County], Massachusetts, son of John and Sarah (MEAD) LOWE. Educated in the Fitchburg public schools. Began business in the wholesale commission house of I. A. Lowe & Company, Fitchburg. In 1886, with his brothers, he bought out the business and formed the partnership of Lowe Brothers & Company. In 1887 he established branch houses at Gardner [Worcester County] and Greenfield [Franklin County], Massachusetts. In 1891 became a quarter owner of the Falulah Paper Company, of South Fitchburg. Became largely interested as a promoter and builder of street railways in New England, New York, and Pennsylvania. In 1898 became the president and manager of the Greenfield and Turner's Falls [Franklin County, Massachusetts] street railway. In 1905 took up residence in Montpelier [Washington County, Vermont], and became the treasurer and manager of the Montpelier Wholesale Grocery Company. Congregationalist.
