Educated at Lacolle High School, Province of Quebec, Canada. Was in the grocery business in St. Albans from 1876 to 1883, and was employed as Central Vermont Railroad chief clerk from 1883 to 1901. From 1901 to 1904 he worked as station agent at Montpelier, and at present is engaged with the Bowers Granite Company in the granite business. Republican; was Alderman of Ward One, Montpelier, from 1906 to 1911. Past master of Aurora Lodge No. 22, Free & Accepted Masons; past high priest of King Solomon Chapter No. 7, Royal Arch Masons; member of Mt. Zion Commandery No. 9, Knights Templar; member of Mount Sinai Temple, Mystic Shrine.
