Hollister JACKSON, lawyer, Barre [Washington County, Vermont], was born 07 December 1875 at Toronto, Ontario [Canada], son of Samuel Nelson and Mary A. (PARKYN) JACKSON. Educated at Collegiate Institute and at Queens University, Kingston, Ontario, and at the University of Toronto, from which he received the degree of bachelor of music, and at the University of Vermont, from which he received the degree of A. B. Admitted to the Vermont bar in 1900. Republican; was grand juror city of Barre, 1901; was states attorney Washington County, Vermont, 1904 to 1906; represented the city of Barre in the state Legislature of 1906. Was railroad commissioner from 1906 to 1909, and has been public service commissioner since 1909. Member of Granite Lodge No. 35, Free & Accepted Masons, of Barre; Granite Chapter No. 26, Royal Arch Masons; St. Aldemar Commandery No. 11, Knights Templar; Mt. Sinai Temple, Ancient Arabic Order of Nobles of Mystic Shrine; Vincitia Lodge No. 10, Knights of Pythias; and belongs to several clubs. On 26 Aug 1909, Mr. [S.
