(PUTNEY) HOWES. Educated Northfield public schools and Norwich University. Taught school previous to 1901, when he became connected with actuarial department of National Life Insurance Company. Is a collector of publications relating to the history of Vermont. Served as corporal, Company F, First Regiment Infantry, Vermont Volunteers in the war with Spain, 1898; for seven years a member of National Guard of Vermont. Democrat; member of the state committee since 1908. Universalist. Member Aurora Lodge, No. 22, Free & Accepted Masons; United Spanish War Veterans; and Vermont Historical Society.
