Hermon T. J. HOWE, Waitsfield [Washington Co., Vermont], physician, was born 
24 July 1850 at Northfield [Washington Co., Vermont], son of Arah H. and 
Matilda (JENNESS) HOWE. Graduated from the University of Vermont medical 
department in 1877. Engaged in the practice of medicine at Waitsfield. 
Republican. Methodist. Member Mad River Lodge No. 77, Free & Accepted 
Masons; worthy master five years; Waterbury Chapter No. 24, Royal Arch 
Masons; Mt. Zion Commandery, No. 9, Knights Templar, of Montpelier; Mt. Sinai 
Temple, Mystic Shrine, of Montpelier; Valley Lodge No. 16, Independent Order 
of Odd Fellows, of Waitsfield; and Washington County Medical Society. In 
1876 [Hermon T. J. HOWE] married [Miss?] Lucy S. BAILEY of Northfield; they 
have two children, George A. and Edith O.
