Educated at Tully High School, Canandaigua Academy, and University of Vermont College of Medicine. Previous to entering college was teacher of public schools in New York State. Began the practice of medicine at Roxbury [Washington County, Vermont], July 1906; in February 1911 removed to Waitsfield. Republican. Postmaster of Bromley [Onondaga County], New York, 1899-1903; town superintendent of schools in Roxbury 1907-1908; represented Roxbury in the Vermont Legislature 1910. Congregationalist.
