HALEY, granite manufacturer, Montpelier [Washington County, Vermont], was born 08 July 1857 at Frankfort [Waldo County], Maine, son of Patrick and Catherine (CONNELL) HALEY. Educated in the public schools of Frankfort, Maine. Has been one of the firm of Dillon & Haley, manufacturers of granite monuments, since 1892, and is second vice president of the Granite Manufacturers' Association. Democrat; was alderman 1902-1906; and mayor of Montpelier 1906-1908. Roman Catholic. Past exalted ruler of the local lodge of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, past grand knight of Montpelier Council, Knights of Columbus, and a member of the Montpelier Historical Society.
