Educated in the public schools and at Hardwick Academy. Has been a commercial traveler for thirty years, mostly in New England; is president of the Montpelier Real Estate Company. Republican. In religious belief a Congregationalist; chairman of prudential committee for several years. Member of New England Order of Protection. In 1881 Mr. [Jacob Fifeld] DUTTON married Nellie J. BEDELL of Hardwick. They have four children: Harold B., Lou M., Ruth G., and Wentworth H.
