Presbyterian; served as pastor Fairville [Wayne County], New York, one year; West Fayette [Seneca County], New York, four and a half years; Elba [Genesee County], New York, seven and a half years; Barre, seven years. Purchased job printing business of W. A. SMITH in 1896, continuing same to date. Republican; school commissioner, Barre, four years; cemetery commissioner, six years; assessor two years; city liquor agent four years. In 1874 he [E. Wilmot CUMINGS] married [Miss?] Annie M. SMITH, of Greenport, Long Island [Suffolk County, New York]; they have three daughters: Lucy Frances (Mrs. J. L. THORPE), Susan Ellsworth (Mrs. R. E. WALES), and Metta Belle (Mrs. William COLE).
