Burlington: Ullery Publishing Company, 1912, p 143 Charles Elmer CHANDLER, physician and surgeon, Montpelier, was born 24 May 1861 at Montpelier [Washington County, Vermont], son of Dr. Charles Marsellus and Abbey Josephine (HAZEN) CHANDLER. He was educated in the Washington County Grammar School, and graduated from the College of Physicians and Surgeons, New York City, in 1883; has practiced medicine in Montpelier since 1883; has been visiting surgeon to Heaton Hospital since 1896; is a member of the American Medical Association, the Vermont State Medical Society, the New York and New England Railway Surgeons' Association, and is president of the Montpelier Medical and Surgical Club. On 27 October 1887, Dr. [Charles Elmer] CHANDLER married [Miss?] Cora Stowell PORTER of Middlebury [Addison County, Vermont]; they have two sons: Charles Porter and Hazen Atherton.
