Charles Erwin AYERS, artist and photographer, Montpelier [Washington County, 
Vermont], was born 09 October 1875 in Berlin [Washington County, Vermont], 
son of Charles M. and Clara A. (LEWIS) AYERS. He was educated at Northfield 
High School, in the art department of Montpelier Seminary, and at the German 
Art School of Tyrone [Blair County], Pennsylvania. In 1904 he [Charles Erwin 
AYERS] married [Miss?] Clara Emily MILES of Montpelier. They have two 
children: Charles Raymond and Clara Dorris. Since 1898 Mr. AYERS has 
conducted a photographic studio in Montpelier. He is a Republican, and in 
religious belief a Methodist.
