GRISWOLD, farmer, Grand Isle, was born 26 April 1857 at Grand Isle [Grand Isle County, Vermont], son of David E. and Mary Ann (TOBIAS) GRISWOLD. Educated in the public schools of Grand Isle, and at Montpelier Seminary. Engaged in business in a general store at Adams Landing [Grand Isle County, Vermont] in 1877; in 1880 built a store at Grand Isle Corners and was engaged in general merchandise business from 1880 to 1884; has followed farming since 1884, and was in the ice business for one year. Republican; represented Grand Isle in the Legislature in 1886; was senator from Grand Isle County in 1910; has held various town offices; justice of the peace 1896-1900; has been selectman, lister, and school commissioner. Attendant of the Methodist Church. Member and secretary of Masonic fraternity; member Pomona Grange. In 1877 he [Solon S.
