This Indenture made the 3rd day of September In the Year of our Lord one
thousand seven Hundred and fifty Four Between Charles MORGAN OF THE
County of Frederick in the Colony of Virginia of the one part and Lewis
MOORE of Frederick County in the Colony of Virginia of the other part
Witnesseth that the said Charles MORGAN for & in Consideration of the
Sum of five Shillings Sterling to him in hand paid by the Said Lewis
MOORE at and before the Sealing of these Presents the Receipt whereof is
hereby acknowledged Hath granted Bargained Sold and by these Presents
doth grant bargain & sell unto the said Lewis MOORE his Heirs and
Assigns a Certain Tract or Parcel of Land containing two Hundred and
Eight Acres be the same Moor or less lying and situated in Frederick
County being Part of one thousand Acres Granted by Patent unto Morgan
MORGAN (and by his Transferred to his Son the said Charles MORGAN)
bearing date the Twenty third Day of April one Thousand Seven hundred
and thirty five Bounded as Followeth Beginning at a Poplar an old Corner
in the Original Patent Running thence South Two Hundred Poles to a White
Oak Saplin thence West one hundred and thirty Poles to a Walnut Tree
thence North one hundred and six Poles to a White Oak thence North Sixty
five Degrees West Forty four Poles to an Elm thence North thirty Poles
to a Black Oak thence South Sixty five Degrees East Forty four Poles to
a Mulberry tree thence North one Hundred fifty and three Poles to a
White Oak thence South Sixty degrees East one Hundred and fifty four
Poles to the Beginning And all Houses Buildings Gardens Orchards meadows
Woods ways waters water Courses Profits Commodities Hereditaments &
Appurtenances whatsoever to the Premises hereby granted or any part
thereof belonging or in any wise appertaining and the Reversion and
Reversions Remainder & Remainders Rents Issues and Profits thereof To
have & to hold the said Tract or Parcel of Land & all & Singular the
Premises hereby Granted

With the Appurtenances
unto the said ___________ (left blank) his Heirs Ex’s Adm’s or Assigns
from the Day of the Day of the Date hereof for and during the full End &
Term of one whole Year from thence next ensuing fully to be completed
and Ended Yielding and Paying therefore the Rent of one Ear of Indian
Corn on Lady day next if the same shall be lawfully demanded to the
Intent & Purpose that by Virtue of these presents & of the Statute for
transferring Uses into Possession the said Lewis MOORE his heirs and
assigns may be in Actual Possession of the Premises and be thereby
enabled to accept & take a grant & release of the Reversions and
Inheritance thereof to him & his Heirs In Witness whereof the said
Charles MORGAN Hath hereunto set his Hand& Seal the Day Month & year
first above written.

Charles MORGAN in Open Court Acknowledged this his Lease for Land to
